Schools getting rid of standards to graduate, the conflicts in the Middle east are still conflicting, the border is still wide open, and the tide hasn't slowed any for people pouring in unchecked. The military is less and less qualified to protect you, the police is a reactive force so you are going to have to protect yourself. But that is getting harder and harder to do.
