Scarpetta kicked off its first season on March 11th. The show stars Nicole Kidman as Scarpetta, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Canavale and others, splitting action between the present day and the 1990s. Right from the announcement last September, it got a two-season order and season one wrapped with a big twist. Cornwell's books started back in 1990 and she's since written 28 more, with the latest called Sharp Force Outlast October. The first season pulled from her debut novel Post Mortem and the 25th book Autopsy, mixing timelines for fresh drama. Fans and creators are buzzing with excitement. Cornwell called the adaptation beyond her dreams, while Kidman shared her sister's love for the crime stories pushed her to join. Showrunner Liz Sarnoff says, viewers hooked on the finale will love how it dives right back in.

1:02Season 2 adapts the fourth and fifth books, cruel and unusual and the body farm. It picks up in the present to tie up loose ends, then launches into a new child abduction case. Most of the main cast should return, including the younger versions from the past timeline. Production started this March, but no premiere date yet.
