Savile's Cottage Demolished, New Home Honors MacInnes

The rundown property sat as an eyesore along the A82 road near Glinco, drawing unwanted attention due to Savill's history of abuse. Savill bought the remote home called Altine Ray in 1998 and lived there until his death in 2011 at age 84. Police believe he abused as many as 20 victims inside during that time, turning the spot into a grim reminder of his crimes. Locals were fed up with the graffiti cover building, including tags mocking Savill and his rise as a social media selfie spot. Fort William Councilor Andrew Baxter admitted he felt embarrassed every time he drove past, calling it a blot on the stunning landscape of the three, Sisters Mountains. In 2021, Green's Grocery Director Harris Aslam purchased the cottage for a planned rebuild. Highland Council approved demolition this year, and his team at Glenshire Properties
