Saudi Sisters' Mysterious Death in Sydney

0:00On March 12, two Saudi sisters in their early 20s died mysteriously in their Sinai apartment in June 2022. Investigators now believe Azra Al-Sally, 24, and a Mal Al-Sally, 23, took their own lives together using a suicide drink bought. Online, the substance cuts oxygen from the blood, leading to quick death. The sisters fled Saudi Arabia in 2017 with just $5,000. They sought asylum in Australia, citing fears from their family after coming out as an atheist in a lesbian. Money from home stopped in late February 2022, leaving them isolated in their $480 a week unit. Police checked on them several times as male built up outside, but found nothing unusual. Their bodies turned up a month later during an eviction in separate rooms and long undiscovered. Toxicology tests later showed high levels of sodium, nitrate, and fluoride in the apartment.
