As Tom heads to town for help, he encounters Mr. Damon and several friends traveling nearby. All agree to help Tom catch the thieves. They race back to the crumbling mansion, surrounded and attacked. During the melee, the thieves escape. However, Tom retrieves and returns his father's invention, and soon after, Mr. Swift finally secures his copyright.
