Sakima Walker's Final College Basketball Season

0:00On March 10th, Sakima Walker is wrapping up her six-year college basketball career with the California Golden Bears after transferring from South. Carolina last spring. The former gamecock spent two seasons in Columbia as a veteran leader on young championship teams, even with limited playing time. Now in her final eligible year, she's stepped into a starring role for Cal. Her impact shows in the numbers. Walker has started nearly every game, averaging 11.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game, top two on the team, in each category. Golden Bears coach Sharman Smith calls her a key piece of their success, praising her hard work and leadership. Walker draws a lot from her South Carolina days, where she sharpened her basketball smarts and learned to guide teammates like a mama bear. That experience from one of the top programs helped build her confidence, especially now with steady minutes on the court.
