Sailors Injured in USS Ford Laundry Fire

0:00On March 12, two sailors aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's biggest aircraft carrier, suffered minor injuries in a laundry room fire on. Thursday, the ship is deployed right now in the Red Sea. This carrier is supporting Operation Epic Fury, the big U.S. bombing campaign against Iran, that President Donald Trump kicked off on February 28th. Navy officials say the fire started in the main laundry area and has been fully contained. Both sailors are in stable condition and getting medical care for injuries that are not serious. The Navy stresses there's no impact on the ship's engines or flight operations, so everything is running smoothly. This isn't the first glitch for the Ford. Earlier reports highlighted ongoing toilet clogs from crew misuse, coming right after a long stint in the Caribbean that ended with U.S. forces.
