SSj3Butch returns to the arena to help pit Killer Instinct (SNES, 1994) and Killer Instinct Gold (N64, 1996) to help Mike and Jaymo decide which Killer Instinct reigns supreme as part of The Old SwitchAroo’s epic quest to research and review every retro game in Nintendo Switch Online’s Nintendo Classics catalog.

In this episode, we discuss the video game music that was so good that the SNES release came with an included CD, how robots gave Killer Instinct a mechanical leg up over competitors like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, try to disentangle some of the ways that Killer Instinct parodied Street Fighter, and assess whether the XBox One reboot of Killer Instinct ever delivered.
