S4 Episode 7: Catching up with the incredible Melanie Taylor!

This is The Unstoppable Singer and we're chatting with the incredible Melanie Taylor! Born in New Orleans on New Year’s Day into a family of artists with a classical pianist mother and opera singing father, Melanie is a lifelong dancer/singer who began at age 5, and went on to receive her B.A. in Theatre/Dance from CSU Fullerton. Launching her career at Disneyland in the Kids of the Kingdom song and dance troupe, she did dozens of shows, sang in rock bands and toured the US, Europe and at Tokyo Disneyland.

As one of Bette Midler’s legendary Harlettes for nearly a decade she performed on Bette’s Emmy Award winning "Diva Las Vegas”& assisted Bette & Toni Basil as a self-titled “Harlette Wrangler” on Bette’s most recent national tour. She is an in-demand featured vocalist on major world tours, film, TV and records, with artists such as Steven Tyler, Jennifer Hudson, Steve Perry, Quincy Jones, David Foster, John Mayer, Joe Walsh, Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer, Chaka Khan, and so many more. Melanie is the first female vocalist to sing with the legendary rock band Aerosmith on their "Music From Another Dimension" album and tour in 2012.

Melanie is a Registered Yoga Teacher, Grammy University Mentor, taught at LA College of Music and works with many non-profits, her favorite being Musicares which provides services for musicians in times of need. As an artist coach, she specializes in singing with intention and the creative process, movement for singers, breathwork & mindfulness meditation, & is a coach with Vocal Impact Inc, which specializes in corporate communication skills. With her husband, musician/composer Terry Wollman, Melanie recorded or performed over 40 projects in their home studio during the pandemic, loves their beach home, and is working on a book about her life in the music business.
