Russian Oil Shipment to Cuba Amid US Pressure

The country is dealing with widespread blackouts because of a long-standing United States economic blockade and a lack of fuel imports. Maritime tracking shows a big shipment loaded up in Russia and heading across the Atlantic. The tanker Anatoly Kolokkin, which is under sanctions from the United States, European Union and United Kingdom, picked up 730,000 barrels from the port of Primorsk on March 8th. As of Wednesday afternoon, Greenwich mean time. It was somewhere in the eastern Atlantic making a beeline for Cuba. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump stirred things up on Monday by saying he expects to take over the island and can do whatever he wants. This comes as the U.S. ramps of pressure on Cuba following the seizure of Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro back in January. Trump has already cut off oil from Venezuela to Cuba and warned other countries about selling fuel there, even threatening tariffs.
