Russell Westbrook's Impact on Christian Braun

The Denver Nuggets signed Russell Westbrook during the 2024 NBA offseason, and in his one season there, he made a real difference on, and off the court. The future Hall of Famer pushed teammates hard and won over fans in the Mile High City. Christian Braun, who grew up idolizing Westbrook, took his game to New Heights partly due to that influence. One state motivated to hold on to his spot, missing just three games all year with Westbrook around. Braun posted career best numbers, averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 58% from the field and nearly 40% from three point range. Westbrook shown in the playoffs, especially the first round, but the Nuggets chose not to bring him back for the 2025-2026 season. He skipped his player option after the team told him not to pick it up.
