Rushcliffe Sports Grant: Boost Your Club's Workforce

0:00On March 24, Sports Clubs and Rushcliffe can now apply for the Burrill Council's Workforce Development Grant now in its second year. This Rushcliffe Sports Grant helps cover training in areas like coaching, officiating, grounds maintenance, and safeguarding. Two eligible community clubs will each receive 500 pounds, with 300 paid up front and the rest upon project completion. Clubs must submit a one-year workforce project plan that details the funding use and their long-term commitment to staff and volunteer growth. Applications are open until Thursday, April 30. Through the Council's website at Rushcliffe.gov.uk-sportsgrants. Last year, Gettling and Sherwood Cricket Club put the money toward training six volunteers in level one Cricket Grounds maintenance. This ensured smooth handovers as long-time volunteers retired, keeping the clubs pitches in top shape. The club treasure noted how vital it was to train the next generation, saying without skilled volunteers, games couldn't happen.
