Running for the Right Reasons with Tiffany Smiley
About this episode
Tiffany Smiley is a triage nurse whose life changed when her husband Scotty was severely wounded by a suicide bomber while serving in Iraq. The Army tried to get her to sign discharge papers that would have ended his career, but she refused. She fought the government and won. Her husband went on to serve as America’s first blind active-duty Army officer. Now she is fighting to be the U.S. Senator for Washington State and unseat Patty Murray, who has been there for almost 30 years. Tiffany joins Lisa to talk about her story and why she is running.
