Rubin Naiman – Why We Should Be Worried About Dream Loss
About this episode
But today the world is suffering from dream loss and, according to my guest on this episode of Dream Power Radio we’re all worse off because of it. Rubin Naiman is a pioneer in the study of sleep disorders and has seen first-hand the negative physical and mental effects of lack of enough sleep has on our dreams. Rubin will be one of the keynote speakers in this summer’s International Association for the Study of Dreams Conference. During this stimulating discussion, Rubin tells us:
•how sleep disorders affect our dreams and why that matters
•what actually happens during REM sleep
•why he says REM sleep is an out of body experience
•how the word ‘dream’ has been devalued
•the relationship between mankind’s destruction of our natural resources and the dreaming mind
•the surprising reason we have a prejudice against dreaming
•what the fear of the unconscious has to do with dream loss
•why he is an advocate of being in the state of grogginess
•what you can do to increase your REM sleep (and why you probably won’t do it)
If you want to better understand the relationship between our sleep and our dreams, don’t miss this enlightening episode of Dream Power Radio.
