Rottweilers Maul Alpacas, UK Law Fails to Protect

0:00On April 3rd, two Rottweilers went on a rampage at a farm in Wisbex and Mary, Cambridge Shire, in the early hours of March 24th, Mauling 6, Alpacas. Four of them died on the spot while the two survivors needed urgent vet care for serious spatial wounds. This hit just days after the dog's protection of livestock amendment act of 2025 kicked in, finally adding Alpacas and llamas to the protected livestock list under UK law. Poles are hard-broken, with folks like Chrissy McClusky calling it so awful and Maxine Law saying it's so very sad. The farmer and even the dog owner have been cooperating with police amid the distress. Officers from the rural crime action team seized the dogs right away and launched an investigation into livestock worrying, which is straight up. Criminal Police are reminding dog walkers to keep pets under control and on leads near farms while urging farmers to post clear signs at CCTV and use.
