Growing up in Southern Ontario, Schaeffer was just a regular fan in those same stands, pointing go-leafs go with the crowd. His dad even has old video of him cheering wildly for the home team. Now the tables have turned, and hundreds of familiar faces plan to pack the arena to support him. Schaeffer estimates close to 1,000 people he knows will show up, with family watching from a private box and other snapping of tickets. His dad is fielded 600-700 requests from folks eager to attend, turning this into a massive homecoming event. Schaeffer admits it's surreal to trade seats for the blue line, but he's thrilled to play where he grew up, watching so many games.
