America was officially in a hostage situation earlier this week as a radical group of hoodlums seized control of 36 of the country's shipping ports and threatened to cripple the supply chain, along with the economy, unless their demands were met - all while the Appalachian region of the country is in a state of emergency and in desperate need of basic resources. Who were these anti-American hoodlums you might ask? Were they terrorists? Actors for a foreign government? The cartel? No. They're members of the International Longeshoreman's Association, a union that has held control of the eastern and gulf coast shipping ports for over 100 years. Fortunately, an unlikely hero stepped in and saved the day.
