Ashley Coffin, what's up my friend? Oh, things are crazy. How about you? Things are good. Things are good. That's great. It's crazy here too. But we did get to spend some time working on my studio room last night. And I really... It looks fabulous. Thank you. It's still very much a work in progress. But we moved my desk forward, like three feet, four feet. And so I just have room to swivel my chair now without knocking things off shelves. So that feels really good to just not feel pinned in. Like I normally do. Feels good. We finally, we did find a house. And it's funny. They kind of coincide that they did just sell our property. Like the approvals happen. Just this like past week. Because when we bought the house, I was starting to have like, oh, but what if we had another year here? Because I love my little cottage.

2:01And I was like, not buyers or more. But it was just like, I guess I'm freaking out because it's actually happening. And we thought we had enough time to paint. And this and that. Now we're down to two weeks. And I'm like, we have so much to do. And Ken's like, we can live here in paint. I'm like, no, we can't. You know, when you have like an idea in your mind of how you want it done. And then it just starts like not happen. Because we don't have time. Our my work life is crazy right now. We change systems. And I mean, I don't know if anyone from my work listens to this. So I'm not going to be country. But it's not fucking working. It's not working. We're doing, I'm doing 12, 13 hour days every day to try to keep the company going. Because as everyone knows, I like do granite and marble installations and that. It isn't transferring over the right information from the old system to the new system. Because now it's three systems that are talking to each other. So things are missing. It's taking longer to do paperwork. And like at some point, it will all even out. Yeah. But it's not happening right now. And we're two weeks into that. So I'm losing so much time. And then we were a bunch of drunk assholes last week at a free karaoke party is over Labor Day.

3:04And we were like, we're fine. But losing that weekend, now I'm like, oh my god. And then we have to pack. So yeah, this is great. These are totally sane and normal and calm. You're going to make it as someone who has lived in the house for three years. I will say we're still not moved in fully. Like there's still the reason we moved my desk forward three feet this week is because we finally consolidated like some boxes that never got cleared out. You know what I mean? There are still boxes on the other side of my desk that you can't see that are stacked up. That like, it's not even boxes. It's just storage, you know. But like eventually it would be nice for all this to fit homes. But it's just that it doesn't happen. And so you do what you need. And then it gives you stuff to do for the rest of your life to constantly work. Just like a hawk eye. I just watched the age of Ultron. He talks about, Kelsey talking about doing little projects. And yeah, I'm Laura. I'm like, this is the last one. Yeah. We had to come to like, I had to concide of some things that I wanted. So we got a twin and little things like that.

4:04And I think I've been panicky about rejoining society while I've been living in the woods for three years. So I just need to be like, you're fine with people. Just just get over it. Yeah, you just gotta jump in. Like you will feel better unless anxious about people once you just spend time with people. It's so easy to follow. COVID did it to a lot of people. And it really taught me that like, if you don't spend time with people, you start to feel like people are stressful. And they're not. It just starts to feel that way. And yeah, I mean, that's not for everyone. Every, some people are just introverts and that's just the thing. But like, you know, a lot of people started to, people that I've known for 20 years who've, we've spent every weekend playing in bars together. And like I know that they love to get out and do things. That after COVID, they were like, oh, I don't leave the house anymore. And then, you know, it's true. Yeah, I really like lost friends that I see like once a year now because I just go to their house to make sure I see them, you know? Yeah. And we went from such an extreme from like, the city to the woods in the country. And now we're coming like back into the middle.

5:06But I did, it is a very, it's a very nice twin of your, it's Victorian, you know, I liked and Ken seceded and let me kind of paint it my dream colors, which is why it's taking a long time. Yeah, the other day, he's like, I'm not sure about this green and I had an absolute meltdown. So I'm like, I need to work on myself. I have been, my patience has been very thin with a lot of people and just situations because of all of this stuff at once. And I was like, yesterday I was finally like, you need to chill the hell out. Yeah, that's totally get it. Lot of crying in the bathroom at work. It's fine, it's fine. It's fine. You gotta get it out. I hope that gets better. I hope that works better. Me too. It's better quick. All right, well, let's dive into some Marvel things. Yes. I've never already spoke in an interview this week and said, so I've never told this publicly. I completely forgot, just a weird thing to say. But I have a divorced family. I grew up in Texas for a good majority of my life. So honestly, those Southern women are really my favorite. Corpus Christi is the city specifically.

6:07So I just remember, you know, all the old Southern women that I really, really love, but specifically Mississippi, the rogues from Mississippi. So I'm really just, I want to go there. I really want to do her justice. I think that's so important. 100%. I think it was one of the big, the only really downside to Indy Never Ready that I've seen going online. She's not a Southern bell. And like people wanted a real Southern bell. And that's acting. Yeah, yeah, 100%. That's acting. But like, you know, I get it. I get it like Southern accents, especially if you're from the South, you can feel grading in movies. Yeah. If they're bad. I wasn't after I again, after I watched obsession again, I was really paying attention to her talent and her skills. And there's this scene where she, at a party where she recites a poem or a story that she wrote. And she goes into like, I know they're messing with the levels of her voice a little bit, but she goes in and out of several weird, creepy accents.

7:09And that's when I was like, she's got it. She's got it. She's going to be fine. Yeah. Yeah. I think she really do think she will be. Obsession is such a like tour to force of just like insane jumping and ability to change quickly. The thing that I haven't seen or do because I haven't watched any of her other stuff is like commit to a character and be that character. And that's the thing about Rogue. It's like, Rogue is a character that you're going to have to commit to and be that for like, be consistent. It's almost like you're really good at this jumping around and can you lock in? And especially with accents, that's really important and hard to lock in on an accent that isn't yours. But hopefully they've got, you know, if she's not watching it closely, Marvel is. And they'll be, I'm sure, watching her closely. So I don't know. There are people out there. I'm a southerner. I'm an Alabama kid. So I'm close to Mississippi. So Rogue should tell like me, in other words,

8:10this should sound just like this right now. This deep, this deep, same, same timbers, same everything. Basically, Rogue is Matthew Carroll. Just know that. It's a little, yeah. When you're reading your comics, just imagine my voice from that one. Oh, running. Oh, oh, Remy Lebo. Kiss me. So, uh, it is. It is something happened to me back there and I lost my powers. Kiss me. Kiss me, Remy now. Well, we have a chance. The way I would get one of those collars from, you know, the people against mutants to be like, can I get one of those just for like, you know, Saturday nights? Right. The power inhibitor. If anyone deserves one, it's Rogue. That's what Remy should get her for Christmas. 100%. 100%. There's got to be a version of the comic where she keeps one of those around or like has some sort of, I mean, it sucks that those exist for, you know, evil purposes, but like really nice to have them for Rogue, just to be able to turn on and off. I mean, really honestly, most mutants have,

9:11there's like a downside to their powers, you know what I mean? So it'd be nice to be able to turn things off when you want to. But they need control. So, I know there's other vendors out there who are gonna listen to this and be like, Texas is different than Mississippi. Like they're gonna be pissed off about like this versus that I just, I'm a Southern who doesn't really care. Like I hear people's accents and movies. Even when people say they're bad, I don't really care. So I like the fact that she has some Southern, you know, history and her family and hopefully that'll help give it a little more authenticity. We have a new shop manager who moved here from Texas who's running like the warehouse and he has such like the cutest, why he kind of reminds me of Carrie Ellis character in Twister Jonas because he's like, hey, can. He always is like, come on to ma'am. I'm like, oh, you're so cute. It's so cute because he's always like, hey, can. It's so funny the way he says his name. That's great. You know what is funny? You see these movies where people are critical

10:11of the Southern accents and then you go into the South and you meet, especially some of these smaller towns, you will meet people with the weirdest accents. And like people think they're overdoing it or that this is a weird one. But there are every little city, every family it feels like. Like if you go to the South, my dad passed or like very small churches growing up. Like that's what my dad did. And it was like literally like 60 people on Sunday morning and we'd be in these little bitty towns. And you just street to street, keep like these little country roads. People would have like different accents, like very strong or very much lighter or whatever. And so I don't know. Like I guess that's maybe that's why I'm not critical because like I just feel like I heard a ton of different accents growing up. Oh yeah. I mean, my accent's stupid because it's a mix of like whatever Delco filly that's in that. And it's funny, just sometimes I'll stay things and I'll roll my eyes at myself. Like did you just say that like that? Why did you do that? And oh my god, like when I love them, we go to New Orleans.

11:11That's honestly probably my favorite accent in our country, that Cajun. Oh my god, I love the way everybody talks down there. Yeah, I was born in New Orleans. So I like to claim a little bit of Cajun. Even though there's none of that in me. Like I've got parents were there for college and they barely stayed there. They were like two years, but like I still like to claim it. Just because it's such a cool city. We're going, we're going in a few weeks actually for a friend something. So one of one of my pages friends is doing something down there invited us and I'm like, yeah, we're going. We're going and I have no money right now, but I'm going to, I'm a waist 50 bucks on the craps tables and I'm going to wander around Bourbon Street and I'm going to, well, I don't know. There's anywhere to find 25 cent drinks. It's down there somewhere. Oh my gosh. There's that 24 hour bar that has $2 beers all day. Cool. I'll send you the name I have to, I just can't remember. Yeah, it's easy place to get real messed up. I wanted to move there my whole life, but like can he put his foot down? He was like, it's got to be underwater. I'm like, I don't care. I'm like, he's a big chicken.

12:13That's why he won't let me move to Key West either. Yeah. I was like, I guess you get a say. I mean, where you want to live. Yeah, but no, like, I'd thrive in that city. Yeah, that's cool. I feel like I'd thrive, but I'm definitely a tourist when it comes to New Orleans. Even though I feel like I've played music there a little bit and I've gotten to know if some like locals, a little bit here and there. And like, but I'm still just such a barfly when I'm there. Like that's all I do. And so it's not, it would not be a good, it would not be a good start to my like social life down there. I'd be a little too in the bar scene. And like, yeah, at least here I have like kind of a balance of people in my life. There I'd be like, I only know these bar people. That's what I'm gonna go do. Okay, let's, let's go to this next story. We got a martial all these. This is interesting. They asked if he trained for blade. He started his training for blade, which I was kind of surprised. He said he trained for a full year for blade.

13:15And that was kind of crazy. But he said, he said, he actually, it makes him thankful. And he said this, he said, they helped me pay for our movie. So thank you. And I don't know exactly what he means by this. He just recently made a movie called Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother. And I watched the trailer for it. And it is him doing action, which I don't know that he's, he's done a little bit of action, I guess, in the past. But there's a lot more like hand-to-hand combat. And watching the trailer, you can tell he trained to be blade. Like he's got like, he's holding a stick, which almost looks like a stake at one point. And he's like swinging it around, like doing little, little action moments. And I was like, oh, this is, yeah, you did train for blade. And he's like basically saying that Marvel training him, allowed him to make this other action movie he's really excited about, which does look really good and really personal. Yeah, I mean, as awful as it is that they're not making the movie, like you can pay for me to train for a year and then do nothing with it. You pay for it, you know, for sure. Yeah, for sure. He get me in that Marvel shape.

14:16I'm sure they asked to like, paid him to do that. Yeah. And then some former and other. When he said they helped me pay for our movie, I'm not fully sure what he means. Like, I don't know if he got a- He may be through him some mouse money to fund it, because they should feel pretty bad about what they, what they've done. Well, that or like they paid him enough to keep him on the hook for so long and then cancel. I'm sure there's a contract. I'm sure there was a contract. I'm sure he got paid millions just to like not do the movie. Right. How many things did he have to turn down? Exactly. He was doing this. Yeah. And that's real bummer because he's such a talented guy. And it's such like such a big part of his career that he, it's got to set, it seems like he set out for two years. Didn't do that much because he was like waiting on around on blade. So he's excited about his new movie, your mother, your mother, your mother. It's like about a guy trying to survive with three kids, but like there's some sort of gang violence or something and he has to like go kick butt. And it looks, it looks cool. And it definitely seems like some blade action in there. Like just the way he's moving with sort of like martial art style he's using seems

15:17very like blade kind of stoic sort of martial arts. I don't know. It's cool. That's fun. I'm not going to use it. Yeah, yeah. It's but also just crazy that they made him train for a year and then to make that movie that's so nuts. I know you would think at this point that they might like reconsider it, but I guess they're like we don't know how it's going to fit in to which I say it doesn't have to. Just do a blade movie. Yeah, I hear that. I think that would be totally fine if they just did a blade movie, unconnected, connected with a fantastic for. Oh, that too. Yeah, just like jump and it's like, hey, it's a different universe. But I think they really want. I think Fagi really wants to make the whole dark side of the universe, midnight suns, all that stuff. I think he really wants it to fit into the MCU well and they can't make another blade universe and then jump right into that. So they really wanted to work, but they just apparently couldn't make it work. Couldn't come up with a script or whatever. I don't know what I wanted to do. I was watching. I wanted to put on Thunderbolts the other night because I watched that movie all the time.

16:21And it was like movies that you should watch for Doom. They have like that thing on Disney Plus. Did you notice that Multiverse of Manus was in there? Yeah, I did. What does that mean? Yeah, we should go over that list and then this. Yeah, maybe we'll prep that for next week or something because yeah, I was pretty impressed. I was like, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Yeah, I would say that Multiverse of Manus is in there because of incursions. Okay. That's what I would say. Yeah. So I think there's a lot of explaining of how the Multiverse works and like what incursions mean and that whole plot line is about like Dr. Strange trying to fight a different Dr. Strange who who went mad trying to stop an incursion. So like I think there's I don't think it necessarily means we're getting like wand back or anything, but Dr. Strange. Yeah, but I think it's pretty likely we'll get them in there. We're going to get Dr. Strange either in Doom's Dare's Secret Wars for sure. Yeah. Like I have no doubt and I'm fairly sure we'll get some version of wand to too. Yeah, I got all excited when I saw it. Watch Dr. Strange of Ultron this week, like I said, and that was a lot of fun just seeing

17:24Wanda for the first time. Like such a different iteration of her character. It's so different. Such a thick accent in that one. Oh, we're talking about accents. For sure. For sure. And I love how they did it with WandaVision, how they kind of like made her accent sort of like descriptive of her state of mind. Like when she slips in and out of it, it was pretty cool. Just calling it out is the best. So that's great writing. It is for that show. It was so, so good and weird. I really appreciate that they were able to do that show and they were able to do she Hulk within the MCU because they're just both so self-referential in that really cool way. Love it. Okay. Let's see. Let's next up. Spider-Man Brand New Day is poised to do something pretty wild. It is just a little over a million dollars, which probably means it's going to make it today. Maybe by the time you're hearing this, it's already happened. If being the most high-scroasing movie in the US of all time.

18:25Wow. Currently the Force Awakens holds that title with $936.6 million. And Spider-Man Brand New Day has $935.2 million. So it is 1.4 million behind the highest-grossing movie of all time in the US domestically. We normally talk in global numbers, but that just still is a huge milestone to hit. That's crazy. Yeah. And it's still in third place globally of all time. And I don't see it moving up, but it's gotten 2.4 million. But the closest competitor is of interest in game with just under 2.8 million. So I don't think it's going to make another billion. Is that million or billion? Billion. I'm sorry. I was like, I don't know my numbers that well, but that looks like one too many. No, you're right. You're right. That's one to one too few commas. I was referencing, but no, yeah, 2.8 billion was in game and 2.4 billion was brand new day as of now. And it could creep to 2.5 if it kept going, but I kind of doubt it. I think it's I think it's gassing out.

19:25This week was the first week it didn't hit number one, which is crazy. This is it's like fourth or fifth week. It has been number one every weekend. That's wild. That is so crazy. Practical magic too finally took it down. It's just because it was down to making like, I think it made like 18 million this weekend, which is still crazy, a crazy amount to make this weekend. But you know, that any, any movie with some names and it's probably going to like topple that for first place, but it took it so many weeks to get taken down. And next week it might go back to one who knows like it might shuffle back in there. Yeah. Okay. Spider-Noir is canceled. You know, I'm okay with it. I thought that that first season was fine. It was a story. It was over. I kind of agree with Nicholas Cage when he was asked about it. He was like, we did a perfect season. I don't see there. You know, that story's done. He was like, we move on. It's fine. Yeah. Yeah. I was just this is very similar to how I felt when I heard about Wonder Man getting canceled for the first time, which is like, I never expected a season to.

20:28So like, yeah. Yeah. I just didn't even I just thought it was a limited series. The way the season ended though, maybe think it's possible to do a season two. It seemed like the maybe they're teasing that, but I'm totally fine with it just being a one season show. Yeah. Me too. I was actually surprised that they were going to get Nicholas Cage to commit to like a whole another season. Yeah. And I don't think they ever actually let like unlike Wonder Man, they never announced a season two. I don't believe. Yeah. I don't remember. They just said it was canceled, which I almost feel like you don't have to say it's canceled when you you just like, we're not making a season two. That's not about cancellation exactly. Yeah. If they said canceled, they might have jumped the gun and being like, oh, season two is coming because I kind of feel like we did talk about. I don't know. We I don't I don't I don't recall there being an announcement of season two, but maybe there maybe maybe it was talking about it. I don't know. All right. Well, um, that's that's the news. I guess we'll go ahead and take a quick break and then we're going to jump into the feedback.

First up, Michael Quinn says, Hey, Matt, Jeff and Queen Ashley, I am super excited that we finally have the X-Men coming to us, especially Adam Driver playing a first time villain at least in movie form as Mr. Sister. One thing that is on my mind though is since one thing that is on my mind though is since we have confirmed Rogue in the form of obsession star, Indian have already, are we possibly going to get gambit soon? If so, who will they have play the MCU's Rimmie? Love you guys 3000 plus. Nick Quinn. I mean, that's a really interesting question. I feel like one can't go without the other, but we can definitely go through one movie without getting a gambit. For sure. Yeah.

23:30I mean, like, it's going to be great to have that relationship on screen. And I think people that follow, that love that relationship will be upset if they don't have Rimmie in the first one. But I think like in many ways, it'd be nice to like get her a character fully established first. Because who knows if she's not going to be introduced as a villain, you know, we don't know what they're going to do with her storyline. And she's going to come over and honestly, I don't feel like I'm well versed in the kids enough to be able to cast this role properly. Right. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know enough kids to be able to do that right now. It's all a rumor that that kid that we like from. What's the spin off of the boys? A Gen V. Gen V that that kid, his name's like Sasha or something. I'm sorry, everybody, but you know, I mean, he got cast as Warren, Wornington, the third is what I heard. I saw that on a post, but I hadn't seen it. I don't know if it confirmed anywhere. I also saw that I saw this post that Tom Holland. They're like, he signed on to do 25 more Spider-Man movies to get to be doing Spider-Man

24:31till he's like 45 or he signed on for like five more movies and all this stuff. And I'm like, I don't think so. But that'd be nice. It would just be really funny if when he's 45, he's still playing, you know, Peter Parker. And it's different because like Hugh Jackman was older. I feel like when he started playing Wolverine. I feel like as he's kind of gotten older with it, it doesn't look too crazy, but going from little tiny baby Peter Parker to like 50 year old Peter Parker, it would be cool, but I just don't see him doing it. I would really love it. I would really, really love it. I think that's a rad, rad idea. I would really love to see it. But you know, we'll see. We'll see. Yeah. I think he's gotten his, for us, really strong start in his acting career because of the MCU. And like, I think he'd be smart to stay with it because so many of his fans love it, but obviously he's going to want to do other stuff. But like, you know, figure out ways to work this into your schedule every so often. We got to keep that money coming, honey. And that money will grow over time.

25:32Just like Robert Eing Jr. made such a crazy amount of money towards the end. And I haven't seen his drama. I think though what, what is it called cherry or something directed by the Rousseau's, I think where I don't know what the plot is. I just know he has like longer hair and I think it's a kind of a dark thing. I would like to see that because like, he was cute in the Odyssey, but he didn't stand out to me. Like it wasn't like, wow, you're an amazing actor. And I don't mean to say it like that. You know what I mean? Like I'd like to see him really take on an interest. We were comparing him to like Timothy Chalamet when it comes to levels of acting. Like I'm not the biggest fan of Timothy Chalamet as like who he is, but you cannot deny that the kids are great actor. He's an amazing actor. His roles like are very good. That's why he's up for Oscars all the time. I want to see Tom Holland kind of try to start picking more interesting, more different roles, you know, show some range. I feel like he's done some, he definitely has done some dramatic roles, but nothing that has broken through the way that Chalamet's roles have.

26:32And I think partially it's because he's known as Spider-Man. It's sort of like, Chalamet has kind of done this. He's known as an like actors actor. You know, like he is a guy who acts and the roles are getting like that kind of buzz. I have not like even as a fan of these movies. I have not gone and watched any of Tom Holland's other stuff. So I could never see the impossible. Nope. He was like, and that's little baby Tom Holland. So good in that. And then I guess he was in that one with everybody. What was it? Baron Thaw's in it and the guy from Twilight, I'm so sorry. Something about the devil. All the devil all the time or something. Devil all the time. And again, like I'm sorry, but you were out shot like Robert Pattinson was definitely who I was because he's so weird. I haven't seen that movie. And I think I think I know I've told this on the podcast because it was just exciting. I was on set on that movie one day. Oh, fun. They filmed it in the woods of Birmingham. Okay. At least parts of it. And I was walking down the street and I saw, I've told this story like five years ago

27:35that happened, but they were someone was carrying one of those little actors chairs. You know, those tall actors and it had on the back a name. And so I googled it just to see and it was a, it was a character name from a movie that I looked up real fast. It was like that movie devil all the time. And like it was, it had Tom Holland and I think Sebastian Stan. Is that right? It's John Barrenthal. Oh, it's John Barrenthal. I think it's a novel. You know, I haven't seen it in a long time, but what's what's what's Robert Pattinson's in it? You know what? I might be mixing the movies up even. I'm not sure. It was something that Tom Holland was in and like this bus pulled up and it was all blacked out. Like it was their little limousine thing driving down the little hiking trail I was on. Yeah, Bill Scars guards and that Sebastian Stan is in there. Okay. That's what that movie is stacked. It's not Barrenthal. You're right. I flagged down the driver of this little limousine bus thing and I was like, excuse me. Are there any Avengers in there?

28:36In the bus lady said, not right now. And I was like, okay. Yeah, I'm looking for two. Yeah. I hear there are two Avengers in the park where I am right now, but it was like a huge I was like this mountain. It was a red mountain state park and like I was hanging out on this big mountain and like suddenly I knew there were Avengers on set because I saw one of their characters names on the back of this chair. I was like, oh my gosh. I'm thinking of pilgrimage from 2017. That's Tom Holland, John Barrenthal. Not one's about the 13th century Irish monks who are like embarking. They're escorting people to Rome. Okay. Okay. It's crazy. Yeah. I have not seen any of them. I've not seen. I literally except for I saw Uncharted, I guess like which is similar. Oh, I saw. Two similar. No, I don't care about that. I don't know. It's not too similar to Spider-Man, but like the vibe of the movie is similar to that sort of Marvel vibe. Is it Mark Wahlberg in the? Yes. The girl in that is why I wanted to be storm.

29:37Oh, interesting. Yeah. By the way, I'm glad you brought it up because I had seen this something floating around. But yes, Ausa German is cast as Angel. Sasha, Ausa, I was so close. Ausa, Ausa, Ausa. He plays the guy in Jinvi. If you guys watched Jinvi, he plays the guy that has the sort of split, not exactly the personality, but like he's a little off his rocker or whatever. Like he's got a- He's super powerful. Yes, super powerful, but he's got some sort of mental illness issues. I'm forgetting exactly. He does look like a giant baby and I'm saying that in like a nice way. So it is like a cher-a-baby, like just a tall adult cher-a-baby. So it doesn't surprise me that he got war in Washington. Yeah, totally works. Totally works. All right. So that's exciting. He's a good actor.

30:37I like him in Jinvi and he shows up on the boys. He's good. So I'm down. Glad you brought it up because I had seen that going around, but I didn't see it anywhere official, but I looked it up and yeah, it is official apparently according to variety. Fun, fun, fun. And for Adam Driver, I mean, I guess technically he ends up not being a villain, but do we count Kyla Rana's a villain? Uh, yeah, for sure. Okay. I mean, like it leads to the majority of the time, you know. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, let's jump into another feedback. Vincent Giacana says, Ashley Jeff Matt, thank you all for the great content. I listened to every episode while I'm up on roofs. Oh, wow. I wanted to comment about how much Jean's power set reminded me of the Shadow King and I'm almost positive that was an inspiration during brand new day. I looked at my wife and I was so sure the baddie was Shadow King.

31:43I remember listening to Marvel, uh, Marvel, the Marvel's podcast, um, audio drama. Five years ago, um, wait, Marvel, the Marvel's pie. Okay. I don't know what that is. It's an audio drama podcast. Five years ago where the Shadow King was a subplot, he is a formless entity that bounces between people much like Jean did before the big reveal. Did anyone else think, uh, she was an malgum of the characters? We definitely talked about it. He talked about the Shadow King as at one possibility, but it being Sadie Sink made us think it was unlikely, more likely Jean Grey or even Typhoid Mary, which is not her power set exactly in comics, but it still could have changed around. Right. Well, that's right. And if any, but like that's why watch Legion, and that's all I can say, that's why I thought it might have been. Yeah. Yeah. Um, he continues. The whole version Spider-Man fight was epic and long awaited.

32:44I was hoping for extra arms ripped out of Peter's back and he became man spider. Might, uh, maybe it's still to come. Me too, Vincent. This was the first Spidey film, uh, my eight year old son theaters, um, like us, she loved it. That's awesome. Thanks again, PS. I still think Null would be a great big bad for the entire MCU universe, even if Sony teased him in the last dance, Vincent. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I've, I've only really seen Null and like people explaining who Null is on the internet. I really don't, I've never read it. I've never read a book with him in it. Mm-hmm. And I saw I saw it in the last dance where they tease him, which is such a weird, they did that so bad. But the movie was fine, but the null thing was normal. The null thing was terrible. That cluster. I mean, it was, it was, what was weird about it as they announced it ahead of time.

33:46Like we knew going in that Null was supposed to be part of the movie and then they basically just did the same thing that Avengers did with Thanos where it's like a surprise. He looks at Cameron, you're like, oh, Thanos is coming one day, but they saved it for the theater. You know, like that's the whole, like you tell people ahead of time, Null is in this movie. Then people are going to start thinking it's going to be a, he's going to be a part of the movie. Yeah, I didn't, it was really a marketing issue more than a, how they did it in the movie at my opinion. Yeah, I agree. Um, yeah, great. Vincent, I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I love the movie. I just think it's, like I said, I've been saying is I think it's my favorite Spider-Man movie still. Really, really like it a lot. I'm like, when I was I smart at eight to be able to like understand what's going on in movies. Movies have still so far away from that age. I'm like, eight. Well, yeah, it's really interesting to think about, especially a movie like brand new day, like a movie like the Tom Ha, I'm sorry, the token of the Goyars Spider-Man movies.

34:49I feel like those were a lot more directional and easy to understand. Yeah, very comic bookie to. Yeah, well, very comic bookie and very like almost cartoonish in the bright colors and everything. And really, I would say that about the first three Tom Holland movies as well. They're pretty like there's a good guy and a bad guy and it's pretty simple. Like Zendaya on the rooftop, if I was eight, I'm not sure how like if I would understand that right away, it would take, it might take me like, mom, what happened with Zendaya on the rooftop? Why'd she go mean on him? You know what I mean? Did you explain to your eight real world what Vera Max meant? Yeah, with VMAX. Yeah, I don't know. And that's another great one, like the VMAX moment. Like do you understand that at all? And I think the answer is probably, I mean, some eight-year-olds do, I'm sure. Yeah. When I was at eight, I was watching Star Trek and stuff, which also has a lot of complex stuff.

35:50Yeah. Ideas in it. But those ideas, a lot of times the things I liked about those weren't those ideas yet. Yeah. But those were just being introduced into my brain, which I think is really powerful. I think it's really important to watch things with kids that they don't fully understand yet. Not, you know, obviously inappropriate things, but like, I was watching Jason Vwerhey's beat people to death and sleeping bags. I was. And now I'm the way I am. Well, the problem with that is we did understand what was going on there. It wasn't a depth thing. It was just like, that's just too gross. That's like an inappropriate thing, which is like, yeah, I was the same way. Rock and roll. Rock and roll and murder. Yeah. I just think that like Star Trek, I always talk about how like, especially in the Star Trek universe, I guess, where we talk about it. Like, I grew up, I loved, there are certain characters that I loved that were like data and Jordy Le Forge on the Starship. And they just felt like I connected with them. And like, they were cool and like kind of weird.

36:50And he's a robot. And it's like, the, the, what I'm getting out of it at seven or eight was not the deeper moral issues. But those ideas were being introduced to me, you know? And I think there's a possibility of something like that here where like, the idea of an entity like Jean Grey that can like move between bodies is kind of weird for a kid to get. But like, they're getting it for the first time introduced to their brain while they're just enjoying Spider-Man, thwipping around the city. You know what I mean? And fighting bad guys. But it is weird like, to think about as a kid, Spider-Man. I guess, I guess you have the scenery fights the hand and you're like, look, you fought the hand. That's the big battle you remember as a kid maybe, but the hymn sitting down on the bed next to her and like sharing the memory of Aunt May, all that kind of stuff. What does a seven year old think about that? Like how are they conceiving it? This is a particularly sad Spider-Man, you know? It was sad and I would say deeper, which is why I love it so much.

37:51Yeah. I guess the Hulk fight will also stick out. Oh, for sure. There's not too many fights, you know? Am I just, you know, it's not as... Well, I mean, it has the scorpion fight. It has a lot of like action sequences that don't aren't necessarily punching, but like hymn thwipping around the city trying to chase Jean Grey through different bodies is really, is a fun one. They have that whole scene at the beginning where he's just fighting a bunch of different villains. So there's enough in there that's like splashy for kids, I feel like. Yeah, that's fun. Yeah. Alright, Steven Robert says, hi, Matt Nash. I went to see brand new day yesterday, solo. I haven't done that in a minute, leaving kids and wife at home. It was awesome. I think he means the movie, but it sounds like it was awesome to be alone. I got it. Hey, big Spidey fan over here. It is the absolute best Spider-Man movie.

38:53The costumes, the villains, the plot, what it means for the X-Men 2. What got to me more was the relationship with the others, the special police officer on the phone. Frank Castle, I rarely laugh out loud in the cinema, but Frank and the Spidey mask at the hospital absolutely did it for me. And Ned and Imjav, of course. But one I haven't seen, I didn't see coming, was the Hulk. The fact that he remembered him, the emotion in his face when he let go. By the way, go home Avengers, Spider-A-Command can manage the Hulk way better, in my opinion. I don't know. I don't know, man. Black Widow's got it pretty down. Yeah, Black Widow really, really got that all about. Sun's getting real big, guy. Yeah. I didn't think that Spider-Man, no offense to you. I didn't think that Spider-Man had it at all. Spider-Man is like trying to prevent himself and others from dying to the Hulk, but he doesn't really stop the Hulk.

39:54Like the Hulk decides to stop. So yeah, I don't know if I would say that he's got him in the same way. Let's see. I love how Spider-Man now is connected with the new Avengers for its Pew Appreciation mention and with Gene Gray. It sets up a beginning that I'm not used to. Yeah, I agree. One last thing, as much as it broke my heart when Gene played Peter when she was MJ and that MJ doesn't remember a thing, I'm kind of good with it if they go over that. I never really liked this portrait of MJ, but I'm heartbroken for Peter because he loved her so much. Please don't go through a Wednesday C story though. C Tom Holland, Peter Parker lost her, seeing Tom Holland, Peter Parker lose her would make a tiny small part of me die. Thank you for your work, you're your number one Canadian fan.

There was some speculation about that in the beat in this movie, but I think they'll go there soon enough. Yeah, I don't know where they go from here with MJ. I think the connection has been so much about them for four movies. It feels weird if they drop it and never go back to it, but I do like how it resolved here. So I'd be okay with them not getting back together. Yeah, me too. Yeah. And it's still being like a heartbreak he has and like to try to move on even though, like, you know, now that they're not apart for a movie or two, maybe maybe he does get a chance to date someone else and maybe they get back together later or whatever, you know, like when he's 50, like we talked about. Let's like a cartoon. Who the fuck is that? Phenius infurbed the movie across the second. Oh, that's the guy writing my movie that's helping us with the, the princess movie. Oh, so cool.

What if the big change to the end game release is that before Tony got, can snap, Dooms

43:59absurd and captures him because he is the 616 anchor being. If Dooms is going around collecting anchor beings, because of this, maybe when the snap does happen, a different half of all life is are blipped, which would explain why not all characters are confirmed to be in Doomsday. Still, Steve has to restore the timeline, returning the time stones, but this time he cannot stay with Peggy because he has to help fight Doom. Also, I hope Loki is the one sending out beacons so that 616 will be the universe that other universes already taken over by Doom will converge to so they can come up with the solution together. Loki would know if this is the only way to stop Doom from destroying every universe. Ashley, you are a queen as always, later Gators, Marvel fan 62.

45:01This is a lot. I think the idea, so I don't know when you wrote this in Bailey, but the idea is this would be before, this would be the thing they change about the end game release. I do not think is the case. I think they are just going to be additive to end game. I don't think they are going to change the ending of end game. So I can't imagine them change, like how it ends, like how the snap happens and the funeral and all that. That is still going to happen. I am 99.999% certain. The extra 4 minutes, I think you are just going to be an extra 4 minutes that maybe do post credits or maybe tie in Doom in some way. So that is my only real pushback to this idea is that I just don't think they are going to change end game that much. I would love to see Steve restore the timeline again, but I don't know. Maybe that is what they add in at the end.

46:02I think that is a really good idea for how they can even just get into the storyline. He goes to add them and then maybe something happens. Steve probably calls it their version. Probably his fault. There is a lot of speculation that he is at least part of it. A lot of them have had the weird time travel hijinks that have messed up up. He is definitely responsible in that way. The other thing I would point out here to Bailey is that Loki, the beacon and the 616 thing, Loki is not in the 616 anymore or not in the main line into you. He is, but he is at the center of, yeah, he is outside at the center of all the universes. So if he is doing a beacon to bring people to him, it wouldn't bring people to our universe necessarily or the MCU. Bring them outside of universes to wherever he is. Now he might be doing the beacon. I think it is a very good idea that they tie in the beacon from Shang-Shi to that.
