Roethlisberger on Steelers' Allar Pick: 'Meh'

0:00On April 30th, Steelers legend Ben Raffisberger sounded off on the team's pick of Penn State quarterback Drew Aller in the 2026 NFL. Draft. The two-time Super Bowl winner gave it a meh at best, saying Aller never really stood out to him on tape during college games. He pointed out that Will Howard, already on the Steelers roster, looked way more impressive as a college player. Howard's play jumped off the screen in a way Aller never did for Big Ben. Aller put up solid numbers over four college seasons, including leading the Big 10 with 25 touchdown passes as a sophomore and adding, 24 more the next year. Penn State made the playoffs semifinal that season, but he had a rough game there and a broken ankle sideline to him early in 2025. Raffisberger still sees upside in Aller, praising his strong arm, ability to make any throw, and underrated athleticism.
