It might not have been the prettiest of basketball games, they might not have fixed everything that has been an issue of late, but they got the most important part of it, which is the victory. They're off to New Orleans now. We'll talk about that here in just a bit. But what's the thing that you're talking about more than anything else coming out of this one tonight? This is what you'll be talking about. I mean, it sounds so simplistic, and it is simplistic. It's the fact that they just got a win based off the way that they've played recently. This has been a basketball team that we've talked about the issues at nauseam, everything that has been going on, you know, laps, days, go play, turnovers, not, you know, finishing at the end of a game the other night and the most bizarre end of a game that we've seen

3:09probably all season. There's been a lot of aspects of this that have been wonky, I think is the way to put it. So you just kind of needed to see them tonight, put one step forward and simply win a basketball game. And okay, they're playing a Memphis team that obviously is not very good this year, 24 and 49 now as Memphis, the Rockets, 44 and 29 with the win. But these are the kind of games that, you know, you get concerned with how they played and look, honestly, with the way they kind of came out again tonight. We've seen this a lot lately. They've come out where the other team kind of punches them in the mouth. There's one thing that I would like to see the Rockets do instead of letting their opponents do, it would be to punch them in the mouth instead of getting punched in the mouth. And Memphis kind of came out a little hot, had a little bit of a lead there in the first quarter, but they fell back into being Memphis. I think, you know, would you, of course, you know, being selfish here, would you like

4:10to see a game, a lead extended more, you know, against a team like this throughout it to where it's an easy cake walk win, of course. I mean, it ends at 1-19-10-9. 10-point wins or 10-point wins in the NBA, and I don't care who you're playing, that's fine. But yeah, a part of you wants to see it. You know, they still turn the ball over a little bit tonight, 14 turnovers for the basketball team. But to me, there was, you know, really one spot in the game where it kind of changed. Time to reveal where the game was once or most. It's the turning point. It was kind of that third quarter more than anything, and really, you know, you go look at who it was. Kevin Durant in that third quarter had 11 points and played all 12 minutes in the Rockets. You know, we're able to weather the storm that Memphis came out of the half with. And by being able to do that, you held on to your lead there, going into the fourth quarter and then Durant. He only had six in that second or that fourth quarter, but that was what, third highest total, helped them key the victory there late.

5:11Again, by, by no means was anything tonight spectacular or great, it was acceptable. I think that that's what is tonight, what tonight is. And of course, throughout a regular season, these nights are completely fine. You know, we want to see them tune things up again and play better here and there. There were aspects that were better. And look, they knocked down some threes tonight at a, at a good clip, 36% from three can live with that. They hit there are 12 threes tonight. And if it's hit 13 for once, they didn't get completely basically, you know, hoodwinked by their opponent in terms of who put up more threes than, or who made more threes than the other side. And it was the Rockets tonight that just, I shouldn't say they didn't, they, the Grizzly still did, but it wasn't by a ton. So the Rockets were able to keep up there. Durant had the 25, Jabari had the 21, Alpie with 14, a men with 18, Reed Shepard with 15, the starting lineup does its job. And look at that. You know, one of the themes, the last couple of nights that we've said has been, hey,

6:15you know, this team has gotten nothing from their bench at all tonight. They did. They got 16 from Tari. He didn't hit outside shots, but he hits shots. Thank goodness. 16 from Tari six from Aaron Hollow, they just two from Tate and just two from Tate and Campella. But again, what's that eight, 10, that's 26 points off your bench. That's a whole heck of a lot better than it's been of late. And the other night, I think we said they had like six points, maybe I had to go pull the box score back up. But that's what you got tonight. I would like more of course, you know, figuring it out, making me feel like there's not, you know, something that's, you know, completely wrong. But you got again, you got to take the baby steps and tonight was the first, I guess, baby step of this. Who's the player of the game tonight? 11:31They're a game behind Minnesota. They of course could have won the season series the other night against the Timberwolves, but they did not. I'm going to be honest with you right now. I don't think I'll pick the rockets to win. The series that they are going to play in the first round. I they feel that is completely wrong with me. I understand as a lifelong Houston Rockets fan and in native Houstonian, like that's just messed up. But I think I'd rather them stay in the sixth seed and play the Lakers. I'll pick the Lakers Lakers out of the home court, but I feel like they just have a better chance there. So I don't mind sticking at six at this point. See how this thing plays out.
