Roberts Warns of Judge Attacks, Trump Criticizes

Chief Justice John Roberts issued a strong warning Tuesday about personal attacks on federal judges, calling them dangerous and saying they have to. Stop. Roberts made his comments at an event in Houston stressing that criticism of court rulings is fair game and even healthy. Threats against judges are on the rise too, with 564 reported in the last government fiscal year that ended in September, more than the year before. Congress has stepped up with extra security funding. Roberts has pushed back before. Last year, he rejected Trump's call to impeach Judge Bozberg over a deportation block.
