He reveals the six-week-plus audition that finally landed him the role, why he decided Damone was an East Coast transplant, and how Cameron Crowe’s real-life high school experiment inspired the legendary “Five Point Plan.” He remembers working with Amy Heckerling, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brian Backer and Forest Whitaker, and explains why Sean Penn stayed Spicoli for the entire shoot – right up until the day he wrapped!
