Nancy Churchill of Dangerous Rhetoric argues the 2001 Roadless Rule locked up nearly 45 million acres of National Forest land and left Washington forests vulnerable to catastrophic fire. The Little Giant Fire has burned 136,000 acres inside two roadless areas.
