Rico Dowdle Joins Steelers, Replacing Gainwell

0:00NFL stories making news on March 10th. Rico Doudal, the running back who spent last season with the Carolina Panthers, has agreed to terms on a new deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed a one-year contract worth $2.75 million with Carolina just a year ago, but now he's heading north. Earlier today, the Steelers lost another key, back when Kenneth Gainwell, their MVP from the 2025 season, signed a two-year deal worth. $14 million with a tap of Bay Buccaneers, Gainwell was a big part of their ground game. Doudal put up solid numbers last year, rushing for 1,076 yards and adding 297 receiving yards over 17, games. He even topped 200 yards from scrimmage and back-to-back weeks 5 and 6. Before Carolina, Doudal spent four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, where he rushed for 1,079 yards in his final year there. That breakout performance helped him land the Panthers gig.
