And I, it's Rich, greetings from my senior citizen apartment. And welcome to another podcast, as we encourage each other to abide in Jesus, have faith in Him, follow Him, live according to His teachings. And listen to what it says here in John 1836, Jesus is answering pilot. He says, my kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews. But now is my kingdom not hence. And that is in John 1836. And I've been thinking a bit lately about Christ being our king, my king, your king, if you have the faith of Christ. And how we are called to live in His kingdom, and there will come a day when we will have a new heaven and a new earth. And He will be ruling supreme everywhere. And it's going to be a glorious time. But now He's come on this rescue mission to save sinners like you and me. And to bring us into His kingdom and teach us how to be His servants. And I just want to encourage each other to that end.
I don't know about the country you live in, the country I live in, were taught to be self-reliant and free from any king. And a matter of fact, we had our revolution many years ago against the king of England. And we have this kind of self-made man type of mentality. No man's going to rule over me. And, you know, we're a democracy, we're going to vote our people in and all that kind of stuff. But the point being is that we have a tendency to fashion our religion the same way. But Jesus is saying, he is the king. And Pilate said to him in John 1837, art thou a king then? And Jesus answered thou says that I am a king. To this end, I was born. And for this cause, I came into the world that I should bear witness unto the truth. Everyone that is of the truth, heareth my voice. John 1837. So this is why He came. And yeah, He says it right here. To this end was I born.
And for this cause came I into the world. So let's remember He is our king and we are His servants. And if you don't know Christ, trust Him to save you and call out to Him and let Him be your king. And that's it. I shall visit with you next time.
