it's been a while since I've done this one. So let's get into it. A lot of times you'll hear people when you're starting a business, you're starting a new job, you're starting a new wealth journey or health journey, you're in a new relationship. They'll tell you that things, that's extreme. I've heard that a bunch. Man, that's, listen, you don't want to, you don't want to swing too far one way or the other. Now sometimes that's true, right? I've seen people getting relationships and they completely lose themselves, right? They quit, they lose touch with their friends, they lose touch with their themselves. I'm not talking about that. What I'm talking about is when it comes to your wealth, your money, all of a sudden you go from doing A, B, and C, going out with the boys, going out with the girls, you're spending this, you're doing that, you got this house or you're renting this apartment, you got this car, you sell your car, you buy a car that's half the cost, it's all cash or you down size and from this apartment to that apartment that's at $125, $100 less, whatever, I'm making it up numbers. You stop going out and instead of spending the $100 on a weekend, you're going to go out to dinner and spend 30 and save

the 70 and put it in the bank. You're going to stop drinking and take all the money you were spending on drinking or smoking cigarettes and put it in a savings account. You start a new job. Wow, that's, that's, that job's going to require a lot from you. Start a new company, whoo, start a new sales job. I'm going to go back to school. All of these things that are going to kind of make us seem unbalanced at the time. Balance is, is, can be true and it's also a myth, right? Balance is not always 50-50. In my world, balance is fine and time for the important things every single day. That doesn't always mean it takes up half your day. It means my prayer time, my time with my family. Sometimes that's an hour, sometimes that gets to be 10 or 15 minutes, but I am going to make time for them intentionally every day. Balance though sometimes looks like I've got to do some things to get my health in order that may seem crazy to everybody else. Everyone over here that's living a life where they're 30 pounds overweight or they're eating that healthy or they're living on the medications. That's, they're going to look at me and go,

hey Clint, you're really doing some extreme stuff, buddy. I'm not telling you to live that life. I'm not telling you to do the biggest loser stuff. I get that. All I'm saying to you is to a lot of people when you start getting your shit together, it's going to seem extreme to them. Dude, why are you not going out with us all the time? Why did you stop doing that? It's not that I don't want to see you guys. I'll see you around the campfires. I go to dinner here and there. I'm not spending $500 a month on liquor and stuff every month with you guys anymore. I'm not doing it. Why did you sell that really nice car you had? Because I was over my skis on it. I got this car that cost me a third of what that car cost or I moved because that apartment was $1800 a month and this apartment is $1100 a month and I'm going to do this for two or three years and I'm going to save up the money. You know, you've been, you've been with this girl four years. Why are you still sending her flowers? Why are you still rotten poems? Why are you? Whatever it is you do, right? They're like, well, you're a whoop. No, that's, that's not extreme. That's not whoop. That's that's being focused on the important things. There's a difference between being a romantic

and an ass kisser or a doormat, right? You get to draw those lines. I am simply saying that when you start your journey to self-improvement, it's going to extreme, it's going to seem extreme to the people who you've been sitting in the comfort zone with. Now, I will tell you there are people out there who are where you're at, where you want to go. The people who have, who've lived a life of discipline, maybe it's not with their money, but it's with their health or maybe it is with their money and it's not with their health. Whatever, whatever channel you're in and it could be many as you want, but there are people out there that applaud you. They know the journey you're starting. They're the ones who are in okay shape, pretty good shape. They're trying to and you're 100 pounds overweight on the treadmill. They're the ones walking by you saying, hey, good job today. They're not making fun of you. They don't give a damn if you're there. They don't care how you look. They don't care if you're jiggling. They don't care if you smell. They don't care about none of that. They know you're there. They know you're on the treadmill and you can't get to

the billionth step without the first step. You can't get to the 30 pounds without the first pound. They know that. There's the guy now that it's watching you not eat Starbucks anymore. You're having the conversation with him. He's watching you drive the different car. He's watching you spend less money and he appreciates that. He may have seven eight figures in the bank. He may have the the residual income and he's watching you no matter what age you are 20 or 70. They don't care. They're watching you going, hey, that dude's spending less money. It looks like he's living a different lifestyle. They will maybe maybe to your face, but a lot of times silently applaud you because they know what you're doing. They know the sacrifice it takes. If they've never been in the conference zone and had to break out, maybe they were born that way. Great. Maybe it comes a little easier to them. Okay, maybe, maybe not, but most of the time, the people who are where you want to get in work in your spiritual life, finances and health, they too have been trapped in comfort zones. The the lure and the temptation to be comfortable is just as strong as them. They've just put up

defenses against it over time. They will appreciate that you're starting to develop your own defenses to that. They will applaud you. Hang out with those people. I'm not telling you to lose your friends, but I am a promise in you when you start saying things like, hey, I can't stay out that late, I got to get to bed early. Hey, I'm going to get to the gym at six because I can't keep getting up at seven and running into work at eight. I'm going to start doing some things differently. The people closest to you, a lot of them, not all of them, but a lot of them will go, really, why? Well, because I want to be a better version of myself in that. Oh, okay, you're going to be better. Yeah, I want to be better. I'm not hopefully you don't lose them, but you might. And I would propose to you, the real definition of extreme is staying the same or trying to clinging to that comfort zone throughout life, even in periods of life, because it's a myth. You are not the same. No man steps into the same river twice because they're not the same man,

and it's not the same river. That's the, you can call yourself the same name, but it's not the same. You don't, you don't stay stagnant. Life, father, time, mother nature, itself will all pull you and you just won't be aware of it. You'll have no control over it. So those people who say to you, that's extreme. I would propose. It's extreme saying, thinking to stay broke your whole life. I'm not telling you that you listen, if you're hard working, you're there. Sometimes I don't have answers, right? I've been there and done that. It seems like you're doing everything right and you can't get over your skis. Go talk to people who have been there. Go talk to professionals. They will have ways to help you get out of that or at least manage it. But to me, the extreme is the mindset of, I'm going to do the same things, but I'm also going to expect different things. I want more money, but I'm not going to change my habits. I want to be in better shape, but I'm not going to change my habits. I want to be close to God. I'm not going to change my habits. I want to start a business, but I'm not willing to

change my habits. I want to write a book, but you got it, right? I want, but I'm not willing to. That's extreme. Living years and a life full of. I want, but I'm not willing to and living the anxiety that creates will create bitterness. So when you see other people step out of the comfort zone and they go, you know what? I'm putting the pie down. Hey, guess what? It's only 25 bucks, but I'm not spending it. I'm going to try to write a book. Really? You're going to try to write a book. Yeah, why not? I don't get to get back on this ride on this roller coaster. This is a one ride deal. Of course, I'm going to try to write the book. I'm going to spend more time doing some other stuff with this person, not going to me lose you. All this rambling is to say when you start the road to self improvement and whatever area it is, you will be called extreme. Now, you will need to put safeguards up so it doesn't become unhealthy. There's a difference

between being unhealthy. If you start losing too much weight, if you start becoming a miser and selfish, right? If you start becoming a workaholic and you stop missing your kids, there's times you're going to miss things with your kids and there's times you stop knowing who your kids are and you're not there for your kids. These fine lines is up to you to draw some boundaries. But I will tell you, there are times in life to be extreme because that's a definitional, that's a situational thing and it's very subjective and I promise you, I'll end it with this, repeat it. When you start self improvement in any area, you're going to have people go, wow, that's extreme. That's okay. Use your cell phone for alarms, put sticky notes everywhere, read the books, go to the training, put the actions into place, be willing to screw up, be willing to start again, be willing to be laughed at, be willing to fail, but don't be scared to start because really the definition of extreme is trying to stay the same and want different outcomes.
