That day. And they basically they were on the harbor, which is not where the twin towers were, but we had the we also have the light shining up by. Right. Right. At the at the site. At the site. And so the light was still shining up at last night. They had

6:18this drone thing where they were just kind of it was like a weird swarm of lights. And then it turned into. It was almost like like birds like birds when birds swarm kind of thing. Exactly. And then they just made them into the two towers as they used to look like with the with the beacon so that you know planes wouldn't I read a little something on that that said that they actually did it to the old height of the towers. I mean, basically if you were standing in the right place from the harbor looking, it would have looked like the towers were outlined and light again. So and it was beautiful to look at. And then they were up for it. I don't know how long and then they just kind of you ever heard about the Oculus that's in New York. The train station that's there at ground zero. Everybody wonders why it has kind of the slits the light from the moment the first plane hit until I think the second tower fell. The Oculus in New York City is designed. So the light on this day

7:24September 11th every year shines with the same type of striped shadow that used to fall from the old towers. And it only shines inside the Oculus during that time period. Wow. That's yeah, that's. Look, it's this is it's hard for a lot of people for a whole lot of reasons. And everybody's got their personal reasons. Y'all have yours. I mean, my cousin's husband Peter Casey, he worked with people on Frazier and wings. And there were people on the Boston flight that he knew that he worked with that died. It's weird because I knew there were a bunch of people in Lincoln who were tied to Candor Fitzgerald. So I knew that back then. One of my friends who's actually a radio guy in Omaha these days,

8:24KVNO, his name is Jeff Katurbye. He's a great cartoonist. A bit of cartoonist political cartoonist for years. He's also been a jazz musician. He used to play once a year at Windows on the world. He'd been there like two weeks before. Yeah, a friend of mine just posted. She was there on August 30th. Windows on the world. I've only been there once and that was in 1978, like right after you were young. So you I mean, I remember it because I'm terrified of heights. So okay, remember it. Because we were we're not going to take you to the Sears Tower in Chicago. Sorry, I'm in there. There's a big thing in Toronto too that I've been to. Oh, the CN Tower. Yeah, I've been there. I don't know why I do this, but no, I was I was 11 or 12 maybe. Right. And so my

9:25mom took me to lunch up there. It was beautiful. I mean, the view is. Oh, it was amazing. But I I look at this and say that there's a lot of ways we can go and we went several ways in the news on tap today to get you guys that goes from the past lessons for today and tomorrow. Obviously, the events at the site in New York City today, the four past presidents were there. If you look at the news collage, we've got that. The picture that we could find was a little odd of of W and and Bill kind of staring off in another direction and Barack and Shell and and Joe and Laura. Laura kind of looking in the it's you guys can go look. It's at the Paul Dexbar dot com. But it was overall. I mean, at in New York and in Pennsylvania, it was some pretty somber ceremonies today. Trump, by the way, fell asleep on stage at the September 11th ceremony at the Pentagon. We also have that picture in the news on tap. You can kind of.

10:29There are words in my head that I'm not allowed to say on terrestrial radio. Well, I hope this won't spur some of those words. This was Donald today at the Pentagon this morning before he flew to Ireland or Scotland to watch a golf tournament because that's what you do on a day like this if you're the president of the United States, right? This was him today trying to use 9-11 to justify his current war in Iran. We salute our first responders and law enforcement and we love them. And we salute the service members working right now to endure the world's number one sponsor of terror. The Islamic Republic of Iran. Not Japan. We'll never ever have a nuclear weapon. Wow. This how slow the applause started. It was like, uh-huh, because he was he was waiting and he had this look on his face, basically looking at them like you better clap. I mean, because what he

11:32just said, first off, how he read Islamic Republic of Iran. Remember when he said Islamic, we remember when he said Islamic Republic of Japan not too long. Right. And so I think that they had it phonetically for him. Oh, God. And it took him a minute to read it. I there are multiple people I know and who've said I've had that they've said that they've had parents who have been really elderly and been having issues with dementia and who do things like telling his story earlier this week about being carried out by the firefighters. It's complete bull fiction. Right. Exactly. And they go, yeah, we took the keys and the legal stuff away from them at that point. Yeah, the nuclear football is at his side every day. But this is after he woke up so he could I'm sorry. It's yeah, it's really offensive and it should be because that's not what the president should be. No. The people who are our leaders should do things like, um, so the mayor

12:33of New York City's arm. I'm Donnie was there today. Um, he literally at one point, you got a lot of leaders there in a small space. He was. What's up? Bloomberg was there too. So yeah, Bloomberg was there. He's in that picture that we've got there at the news on tap. But it's not like my down he was trying to avoid Rudy, but he wasn't because he was just was there. It's not like he was going up to purposely shake his hand. He just, oh, they were there. I'm Donnie just very cordially, you know, shook his hand, talked to him very normally. Thank you very much. Move Don. Look at mom, look on the, uh, Giuliani's face was one of, uh, uh, kind of like when you're confronted with somebody who you've talked crap about before, uh, online or to your friends or something like that and then they then you actually meet them and they're like, oh, huh. But, but the current mayor of New York City, um, all class about. Absolutely. And this morning, he released, um, this video.

13:34It's going to make me cry again. Well, probably we'll make a few people here in the bar cry. Uh, he's got the skyline of Manhattan behind him and the bank and just off cameras where the towers would have been. And, uh, well, here it is. Levins was a horrific act of terror, a day of immeasurable loss, 2,753 parents and children, husbands and wives, friends and colleagues, 2,753 universes, gone in an instant. And in the years since, thousands more have died from illnesses caused by the toxic air they breathed and the months they spent working on the pile. We remember 9-11 is the darkest day in our city's history, but we also remember what so many New Yorkers did in that darkness. We remember the thousands upon thousands of New Yorkers who lined up for hours to donate blood. We remember the people who opened their homes to those who could not get home. We remember the

14:34workers who carried their colleagues down hundreds of stairs, then turned around and went back up to find someone else who needed help. 25 years later, we have a sacred obligation to those who were stolen from us to care for one another as they cared for strangers to live lives worthy of the sacrifices they made and to build a city worthy of their courage, a city where we run to word one another. That is how we remember. That's just yeah. I mean I saw a photograph today of the chaplain that was fatally injured, the fire chaplain and the firefighters carrying him out. I mean all of it was it was hard and it was hard no matter where you lived. I'm sure I mean you were in California. I'm sure it was a little bit weird for you folks on the west coast. You know Seattle and Oregon and well I mean here everybody's like if you're

15:39going because it was early enough that most people weren't downtown at work yet. Well a lot of buildings that are tall here were like do not come to work. Well it was just the start of the day. Out of the west. So I mean you know the morning it already gotten going here on the east coast and you know in Alaska and Hawaii and Guam I mean y'all it was you know practically middle of the night for you. So it's yeah I know people that work downtown here that were told don't come to work today. Everybody's got their memories from the day and there's there's nothing wrong with it. Like Richard saying today about planes in Chicago. I remember being so quiet for that whole week or so where there are no planes in the sky. Yep I remember that very much because I'm very audibly tuned. Oh you know I mean we have an airport right over me. I mean we have things you know flying all the time. We do we do here where I'm at on the west side of the DC Metro now but where I was at in Lincoln at the time. You know you'd still and it was just

16:44the fact that it was you could go out especially like at night. I'm sure the animals near there was something up. Yeah. All across the country but it was just it was yeah it was crazy. It was some interesting time. And God blesses air traffic controllers getting everybody down safely. And everybody who helped out and everybody who did things. Look this is this was a defining moment for a lot of people. Thank you Canadians. We appreciate you guys still even now. There's some things that you know are left unsaid and need to be tied up and and there's some things that we can do moving forward as well. And then of course we got our own issues now. There's the all the wars going on the Iran war the war over democracy. Oh hey and Trump a pollusa was going on. We'll talk about all that. We got we got a drink of the day today. It's a rating done. That's true. But if Gore had rightfully been in the White House on September 11th 2001, Trump and Vance and the Republicans would have nothing to celebrate today because September 11th 2001 would have just been another day on the calendar. I hope so. I think so. I think so. I tend to agree with that. I do. And also we may not have had Barack Obama just yet. And Donald would have never been president. Well, see that's where I'm like I love the fact that we had President Obama for two terms. I like the fact that we had Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for a term, which that was two terms. I wish we'd had President Hillary Clinton in there. That would have been nice. Tim Keynes, my senator. So you know, I'm like, yeah, Timmy, whatever. She could have picked a better one, but yeah, but whatever, but I do still think when it comes to 9-11 to that, no, I don't think

20:01it was an inside job. No, I don't think so either. I just I think that the Intel because it came from Clinton's people was ignored. Well, and I think there was I think there is always going to be a question of was there a little bit of purposeful neglect? And with Cheney dead, obviously, we will never know that. But my thought is because Cheney has wasn't he Secretary of Defense using Congress, he had all those connections. And of course, just to come from the military industrial and picked himself for VP, as you and I talked about earlier. Yeah, I mean, the look I because I put a picture that we didn't use of Ann reparer telling. Yeah, don't you get what's going on? Bush's face is surprise. Oh, he's absolutely shocked. He never, but, but remember, five years in to the two terms of W and the Dick, they had a big huge blow up where basically Cheney told W, hey, I've been the president for five years and W pulled a West Wing style move sitting in the chair behind the

21:04Resolute desk and says, I am the president and reminded Dick exactly where his position was. Yeah. And that he was in fact, Dick, I mean, Cheney, that is. So, I know, you're smiling. It's funny. It's true. But so I have a lot of mixed feelings about George W Bush. Same. Absolutely. I don't necessarily think he was, I don't think he was great. I do think at this particular moment, and there are a lot of people who were like, we weren't that unified. No, on September 12th, we were not nearly as unified as some people think. We were. Pretty much were. There were even then some people who their racist tendencies were popping out. I mean, you remember the minute this happened, the folks who were, you know, in Dick Cheney's corner of the world who were going to ramp up and make the war were like, great, let's go get the brown people. Well, I mean, and then and George W said, no, we're not against the religion. But see, that's the thing is like that's that's where he's just the United States is not

22:07against the Muslim religion. No. And and W at least had that. And he's still very clearly believes that kind of thing, whereas a lot of the other people who. So I've got my issues with it. We've got more stories in the news on tap. You guys can take a look at because there haven't been consequences and justice. There's been, especially for the families who are waiting for a shiklou Muhammad and and the four others, I believe from Al Qaeda, they still have 25 years. Actually, I think they got him in 2006. So it's 20 years for him sitting in jail. And basically down near Cuba just. They're in Guantanamo. Correct. Correct. Yeah. But because we can't seem to get our poop in a group in order to, you know, do actual justice with them. Well, they've been tortured illegally. So there's that problem. What happened under Dick and W. Right. Exactly. There's look. And and now the other day was it. Yesterday, the day before Hillary Clinton was on morning, Joe was warning that the US has let

23:12its guard down on terrorism. But she, man, I mean, she's she was Senator in New York then. This is from a little a little movie that one of the many pieces out there. And I just I saw this earlier today. I was like, Hey, this is pretty good. Here. Let me play this. I was learning the ropes. And then everything changed on September 11th. You saw a plane go into the building. It's the real and devastating scene over here. Something like I've never seen before. I went that day. It looked like hell. I mean, any depiction of Dante's in Ferno paled in comparison. It was the most terrible sight I'd ever personally seen. I think about it all the time. She was a leader. Yeah. And for all the horribleness that Giuliani has has become since

24:15he was a leader, but talking to you, we had people in that that 24 hour period there. You know, me being in Nebraska, me being my my cousin working at office. I mean, yeah, W zipped up to to off it, which is one of those protected places. And that's, you know, we had a lot of leaders. This was Joe Biden on September 11th, 25 years ago today. Here. I think that we should become those of us who hold high public office just come down a little bit, collect our thoughts, collect the information in a methodical way, analyze what we know happened and what we can derive from that. I think it's much too early for us to make those kinds of judgments. The first thing is what the president is doing. He called for calm. He's getting in the airplane. He's coming back to Washington, DC. And I applaud him for that. And you know, this, this was the, so in that first 24 hour period, that was the most that when I talk about people being united, people had

25:20most people overwhelmingly, most people hadn't had time to think about it. No, it was just do stuff. Do stuff to help your, yeah, we were all in shock. Yeah. And the whole world was in shock. But then obviously we had to think about things. We've got some great pieces of the news on tap, one of them from Ali Soufon, the former 9-11 investigator, former FBI agents. Talking about the fact that Bin Laden wanted to eradicate the faith of people around the world in American power. And a lot, because of a lot of what Republicans did. And I have to, I have to be partisan about it because it's not what Democrats did. This is what Republicans did. Some Democrats may have voted for it, but they had no idea what Republicans were thinking. Republicans knew what they were doing. And they knew that they were going to weaponize this and they knew that they were going to use this to go have another warrant in the middle east. How's that working out for you that are war and a ran? How's that going?

26:23It's creating more terrorists. They always, it always has. It creates one man's terrorists is another man's hero. So it creates people that don't like this country. Right. And one of us, right. And I understand that that there are some bad people that do need to take it out. I'm no polyanna about that. No, I mean, Hamas is horrible. Right. There are lots of people and lots of groups and places and things that are horrible. It's not that they, I think I said this this morning, we were talking to Richard Chiu. It's not that they hated our freedom. They hated our arrogance. They've always hated our arrogance. And I've hated our arrogance too. It is the Spider-Man thing with great power comes great responsibility when you are the, by dent of our everything, our military, our economy, the way that the world looked to us after World War II and built everything on our backs. Yes, that's fine. But whether you like it, whether

27:25you don't, whether you agree with you disagree, we have been in many ways the one superpower that's been left. I don't necessarily agree that's the case now. But we have been for most of everybody's lives, hanging out here. And when you are that, you have a response, you have all kinds of responsibilities, including how you act. And we have over the last 25 years. And even before not always met our responsibilities. Well, especially recently with Doge, USAID, I mean, all the stuff that we could be helping in making ourselves look good. Trump regime. Yes. Exactly. The entire second Trump. You know, who's looking good China. They're helping people. Some what they're still doing their kind of thing. They're, you know, they're two and two and a number of people around the world. They're looking better than we are. There are a lot of people. You're the lot of the European nations are looking way better than we are. Amen. If you want to know how we can move forward, we've got that on the news on tap too. So we've got a

28:28piece from the former director for strategic planning, the national security agency, Phillip Bob. He's got a piece. We both picked this one from the New York Times. It's a it's free. We've got most of our links in the news on tap or free. That he notes that the next terrorist attack is predictable. There are things that we could do to prevent it. Jeff Jarvis, one of my favorite journalists, I've talked with Jeff many times. He's got a great, great piece there. It's over at his medium account. Talks about the way out of this. And if there is a way out of it, it's not through just, you know, whining and talking about our lost unity. It's got to be through standing up and fighting, fighting authoritarianism, fighting ignorance, fighting bigotry, fighting terrorism, both foreign and domestic and fighting fascism. That's the key. If you're angry, if you're pissed off what the monsters took from us, you should be directed to do things like, you know, make sure

29:29you're registered to vote. Make sure everybody you know literally every piece of the day that you go through, greet everybody. Hey, how you doing? Register to vote. Hey, you know, you're at the grocery store. Hey, that's nice. Today, like a cut of that meat and oh, by the way, are you registered vote? People go, that's crazy. I go, really? Have you looked at the the the numbers of how few people have voted in the past and how we got to where we are now? I mean, just look at my city. When we vote for mayor, we're lucky if 25% of the city shows up, which is insane. Which means 12 and a half percent of us are voting for the mayor, which is like, sure to make it was sure to make it was better as a governor than I thought, but I mean, that's another example of yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of people voting for that. How do we get W? Because now, because, because Al Gore is wooden and boring. I want wooded and boring. Mm-hmm. I want competent and if I would like to. As boring as possible. I don't care. As long as it's working and not mucking stuff up. Yeah. Absolutely. I'll just take a piece in

30:32there from actually the Pule is a prize winning piece. I always read this on 9-11. Writer editor Jennifer Signeur wrote this the Atlantic. It's outside the paywall as well on that called what Bobby McElvey left behind talks about a family's grief and the finding life. It's good. It's a it's a worthy piece. But we've got a lot of ways to keep moving forward. And one of the things like Jeff Jarvis says, we got to keep fighting. So if you go to the second round of the news on tap today in election land and the war over democracy, I'm glad for some of the Republicans who were in Missouri, specifically in the Missouri Supreme Court. We were I said I wasn't necessarily trusting that the Secretary of State and the Attorney General there were going to pay attention. No, they did. They seem to whoop the ass of those maggots enough. Missouri's top election official, the Secretary of State Denny Hoskins. He was held in contempt by the Republican-dominated Missouri Supreme Court. Basically they said, don't freaking do it.

31:36You can read the stories. We've got the details there. And Ian Millheiser, who I've hung out with over at Carolyn's house before, Carolyn Fiddler, our friend. We got a piece we're hurting here today too. But Ian really said that the Supreme Court actually finally did their job. Hand of the Republic is a serious loss. Oh, and by the way, the Federal District, First District Federal Appeals Court also handed Trump regime major loss on his executive order on mail-in voting. These are all people, even the chief election officials of seven states that are Republicans are saying, no, if Trump's mail-in ballot order somehow is pushed through, it's too late. We're not going to implement it. Yeah. This is what it looks like to fight for democratic, not party, for fight for democracy. Small, small, small, de-democratic, right, right. And that is a way that we can honor all those people who everybody cared about and make our government better, make it more perfect, which was kind of the goal

32:39in the first place. Perfect human. So yeah, we can do better, like Richard was saying this morning. We absolutely can do, we must do better. Literally, there is a third of the people in the United States, 100 million people who are either not born or too young to remember 9-11. Wow. We owe it to them, to give them the kind of potential that this country does have that we had in many ways before 9-11 that we've been punching ourselves in the face about for the last 25 years. Time to stop punching ourselves in the face, make sure that we get people who actually know what the hell they're doing in there and then move forward collectively. So look, we got more news on tap. 35:49pomegranate champagne twist cocktail or a mocktail version, which is inspired by the start of rush ashana because they a lot of pomegranate is utilized apparent. So that's why. rush ashana is Jewish New Year for those of you who don't know. It takes a couple of days. There's like a 10 day lead up to it as well. We've got that in the history there as well. We try to make sure that it's not too religiously for those of you who are like, I don't like all the really. It's fine. Look, it's a tradition and it's important. If you have Jewish friends, you know, wish them a happy New Year. My my next door neighbors, I think I mentioned this before. Brian and his family grown up. They were Jewish and he's a little bit older than me, but I always, you know, I appreciate when I watch their house when they go out of town and they pay me in comic books. Brian actually had a comic book source that helped, but, um, but, you know, I never really had a problem with with Jewish people. And then when I went to college, oh, Josephine, Joey,

36:53my freshman year before I met my wife. Um, hmm, she breaks her heart. Yes and no. Joey was somebody who pretty much broke everybody's heart on purpose because that was her way, but she did things like she would, she would take it to Russia, China service, which is the first time I went. Oh, wow. And I was like, well, this is pretty cool. I can deal with this. I mean, you know, there's, there's a lot. And, um, you know, so you get to have Jewish friends as an adulter, a kid, whatever. And, you know, you end up eating all kinds of stuff that you hadn't had before. You're like, oh, that's kind of cool. I mean, you know, so it's, it's to me. I'm like, I, I remember Russia, China, because that was my first year of college is when I, and, and, Joey was like, hey, everybody, you know, come to synagogue. It'll be fun. We'll have fun. We're like, really? This is fun for you. She was, you know, she, she, we get out. She'd be like,

37:53so what do you think about this? What do you think about this? You know, those of us who hadn't ever been before were like, okay, you really want to know. All right. I mean, she's, she's an interesting young woman. But, um, look, the 10 days before Russia, China is known as the 10 days of awe. This is the time when Jews believe that, uh, God passes judgment on all creatures. And decides whether or not somebody will continue to live or die in the coming year. You cannot advocate, I know what you're thinking, Darryl, stop that. He just, he raises finger. He's like, I'm like, there's a preemptive buzz for that. Stop that. You cannot advocate. That's anyway. Look, the, you got time until Yom Kippur to repent. And the idea for, for, in, in the, the Jewish tradition, is they want you to return to your best self. It's not that you're, your change. It's, it, you could be better. You could do better. Like we've been saying that the country itself, our country could do better. So the idea of, uh, uh, Jewish New Year's, Russia, China is, this is a time for you to stop

39:02kind of look at what you've done and say, you know, what I can do better next year. And then do better. Yeah. Cause, duh. I'll see you get to eat a hollabred, which I love. That's, that's, honey. You like apples with honey? Yeah. See apples with peanut butter too, but, you know, no, no, no, but that's okay. You get one with one and we're in anyway. We've got all the details there in the drink of the day. It's, it's, look, you guys can go read that. Jody, how do we happen to make this, uh, wonderfully interesting citrus pomegranate champagne twist? Okay. You're going to need a pre-chilled champagne glass or a wine glass. Okay. Which, whichever you prefer, a shaker, some ice, eight front fresh mint leaves. Okay. Two tablespoons of pomegranate juice, which is very yummy, by the way. Orange juice freshly squeezed. I can speak squeezed, uh, from a half a blood orange or regular. So I'm going to go with blood orange because of the color. Well, the color and also, uh, flavors slightly different. Yeah. Yeah. I like the taste a

40:05little bit better. I would go with that. But if you can't find one, a regular one, it'll be fine. So for the cocktail, an ounce of quantro, champagne or Prosecco chilled for topping, the motel, an ounce of liars, liars orange sec, and liars, classical sparkling, which is like a sparkling wine. It's like, it's like Prosecco, but it's, you know, non-alcoholic. And two ounces of non-alcoholic ginger beer, which is optional. Mm-hmm. And you garnish with the pomegranate seed pods and orange slices. Oh, God, that sounds so yummy. Um, pomegranate's a tough fruit to eat because it gets all messy, but it's so good. But this is kind of nice because it's in the drink and it flavors the drink in. Yeah. I love pomegranate. So in the shaker, you add the mint pomegranate juice, orange juice, and the quantro or orange sec. You shake for a minute to infuse the drink. That's an infusion. And then you strain into the champagne or wine glass filled with ice. And then you add the optional ginger beer and top with a champagne or liars, classical. And you know, it depends on what flavor you want, whether you want more of the ginger snap, right? Whether you just, but whatever

41:08you try, right? And then you garnish with the pomegranate and orange slices and it just sounds yummy. Mm-hmm. And, you know, maybe your head be good for all good people. Amen. Yeah, it did not do well. It just did normal ratings for Fox. And basically with this kind of slow night for Fox. Yeah, it was just like whatever day. Grindr however, was we have that concern. College football, by the way, that was going on last night as well. Number seven Miami, they're in what used to be known as division one FBS, absolutely crushed Florida, an M 77 to 70 in their home opener. And there's other college games. If your team was going to my volleyball team was playing last night and Nebraska absolutely kicked ass. They're playing again tonight. That's why I'm wearing my Husker volleyball shirt again. Ta-da. I have several of them shut up. It's my team. Anyway, for those of you watching the wild card race in Major League Baseball, Anthony Volpe back from minors back to the Yankees, hit a grand

46:16slam home run. Yankees stopped the Rockies in New York 10 to three last night. And the U.S. Wednesday basketball team is in the semi finals joined by Germany, France, and Spain. I believe the women are, I believe our women are going to play against the French women. So that's that would be this weekend here. So I'll be normal. Talk about that maybe next Monday. 52:34I'm just going to have to stay in and come home with him whenever that is. I don't know what it's been. Yeah, it's been a trip. It's been a trip. It's things that kind of shakes you to your core and he went for a routine thing and then all this happened. Right. Right. And you know, like I said on the show with Richard, you know, I mean, the $5,000, I mean, it's just these people are so out of touch. It's like, do they have any? Yeah. Any first of all, it's he's lying. We know that. Yeah. Yeah. But you know, that is a drop in the bucket. I mean, I can't even imagine what kind of bills we're going to see even after the insurance kicks. Which you know what I mean? Well, because our health care system in this country is a wealth care system. It's good for the insurance executives and pretty much everybody else's screwed. I mean, if you're super wealthy, it doesn't matter if your insurance covers it or not, because you can take care of the deductibles and all of that other stuff. That's why it always frustrates me the people who say, well, US has the best health

53:36care in the world. I'm like, we have the best potential. I still think that the US as a country has the best potential of any, but potential is different than reality. Like our health care workers are amazing. They are. I mean, they're, you know, they're the best part about it. But the problem is it's the for-profit health care system. When you have these these hospitals being bought up by these venture capitalists or all these big companies and then run as for-profit institutions where they're beholden to the shareholders or be beholden to their CFOs and CEOs, right? And, you know, and then you have the insurance companies that are also set up the same way. I worked for a company that is well-known insurance company this many years ago. The CEO made more in a week than I made in a year. Oh yeah. And then they would talk about how quarterly earnings are, you know, this is- look at this amazing, you know, profit margin. They need it. They need to go back

54:36to being not for profit or not for- when I was a kid, they were on profit, when I was a kid. Yep. Yep. It's for the greater good. It's for all of us. You know, we're all healthy, right? And so it's just it's so backwards. And so- Well, anybody gets in a situation where there's an emergency like this. And that is, I think, something we all kind of, you know, think back to with 9-11 because it was- it wasn't emergency for everybody. It was, you know, suddenly if you didn't know like, you know, you with your mom, Jody, where you had no idea she was on the East Coast. I had no idea. So yeah, it kind of reminds me of my mother and my- because my wife used to- she grew up like a daughter of a corporate gypsy. Her dad was like CEO, VP kind of thing, different companies and they'd move a lot or whatever. And so her mom had this phrase. I'm trying to remember what it was. Something like, oh, we need to have a talk. And immediately my wife and her brother were like, more moving? Yeah, they're where now? What the hell is this? It was an- and, you know, so immediately they knew that something was wrong. On 9-11,

55:39there were so many people who there were other people in their family and all they knew was- because we didn't have cell phones weren't as ubiquitous as they are now. And it was there was something wrong. Crap. That's the first thought of everybody's. Crap. And then it's scrambling. And so many people were good. I think in the- when I think of the time of union, I don't think of it as, as, you know, September 12th, as some people say, because I'm like already then people were starting to blame people and be stupid. And it was- it was the immediate, like, 24 hours after it, where it was- you did whatever you had to do to help whoever needed help. Right. And anybody asking questions at that point, it was- even as some people were, it was- Hey, you know- Hello, lady. Hello. But we were- In that point, in that- that 24-hour window, it was- get everybody safe, get everybody fed, get everybody calm, get everybody accounted for,

56:41screw whatever your labels are, screw whatever it was. Yeah, I remember thinking- and I thought this- like every single, you know, like, terrorist type of attack, like the Oklahoma City bombings. Every single time something like that happened, I was like, please let it not be a Muslim person, because you knew exactly what was happening. So it's not like, you know, 9-11 was the first time that the immediate scapegoat and suspect are, you know, Muslim people, right? So it's just- and then when it turned out that, you know, they were, it was just like, oh god, here we go. You know, you can do what was- yeah, that's so happy with. Right, exactly. We still haven't gone back. There is still a lot of accountability. It's why we have some of the- the links that we do when the news on tap today. There- there is a lot of accountability. Hi, Jody. How are you? I mean, I just came in sat down. She's been listening to us. She's just sitting there going- I was muted and I didn't even know, okay? Oh, okay. I thought you were just sitting there. I was like, well, she's talking to her. I was like, okay.

57:45Anyway, so you're talking about 9-11, of course. A little bit today, obviously. I mean, there's a lot of other stuff to talk about. There's some election stuff. There's some good news in the election stuff. Obviously, we can talk about Trump of Paloosa and his- getting these people to play- Trump is a loser. Trump is a loser. Oh, yes, yes, yes. Trump is a loser. Yes, but it's just the fact. I mean, it is. It's a huge, huge day. We had a piece right there at the top in the first round of the news on tap. There's a poll that found that today, 25 years later, 9-11, overshadows the Ipsos poll, I believe it is. And that half of U.S. adults named the 9-11 attacks as the most important historic event in their lives. And yet, at the same time, there are 100 million Americans who are not born or not old enough to remember. Wow. It's basically almost the third of the United States. Yeah, I know. My kids aren't. Well, Bella is only three. That's true.

58:48Yeah. Our kids- I mean, our kids were toddlers. I mean, I think Liam was- Oh, he was in three- yeah, he was three years old. I believe, yeah. So he was three and Jimmy was five or six. So might remember a little bit. Right, remember. Yeah, like they remember- we were standing there getting ready to go to school and they were all in my room with me. And I was watching Good Morning America. And I saw the first plane hit. Oh, and then I saw- and I was like, well, that's really weird. It was like they were showing the smoke from the first time. Right, right. And then as we were sitting there, the second one came in and I was just like- Yeah, I remember watching that. I remember looking at Liam. Yeah. And you know what? How did- how did it go for you? Well, my daughter was three and my son was like eight or nine. Oh, he- So he kind of- Yeah, he kind of remembered- he remembers- you know what he remembers? He remembers people jumping off the buildings. Yeah. He's been traumatized. He was traumatized by that. Clearly. I mean, that's- that's- that's something-

59:49I just saw pictures today of a close-up of people trying to get out. Nobody- that famous picture of the guy- Yeah, dropping. I mean, it was just like- I just looked at that and I just burst into tears again. And it's like- Being that part- the thing that always, you know, I always think about is the picture of that fireman going up the stairs. What was his name? The guy with the red band- The guy that- Yeah, the guy that died. The red band- Yeah, I'm going up and down. Up and down. And going up, yep. Yep. So that's always- that was kind of traumatic. Just- I mean, I mean, Stephanie Miller, she was talking about that whole fire station every one of them died. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Look, there's- Oh, Steve O'Sheppi went down there. He had been a firefighter. He went back to Manhattan to help. People who went to- people who went there. Steve O'Sheppi, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump did not. No, he didn't. No, he did not. No, he did not. He did fall asleep today at the-

1:00:52What are you talking about? Yeah, he did fall asleep. No, Trump today. Yeah, but at the Pentagon, fell asleep. I suppose earlier in the week when Donald Trump was, you know, I went down and with the fireman and carried me on. Yeah, I was going to say he was saved by the fireman there. Yeah, yeah. What are you talking about? Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so I was telling Anita, I'm sitting at the hospital, you know, my- my in-laws voted Republican. Don't know how they voted the second time. Don't know how they voted the third time. I don't know. But when I said that Donald Trump was talking about being pulled out, you know, of there, whatever he said, he never said that. And I was like, oh, yeah, he said that. No, he did. No, he did. But they don't show that on Fox News, so they wouldn't know. Well, but that's that, that to me is the single biggest problem that- I know. The monsters that we have, I have been screaming this since the late 90s, the power of the propaganda machine in this country, the power of the- and I still think right wing

1:01:53hate radio still has a ton of power, right wing hate propaganda. But Donald Trump makes a lot of us pretty much most of us here at the bar. I think you even see him. You just- you want to- Oh, yeah. If you just- Mr. All, that's a visceral. Oh, yes. Yeah, we're- we're- we're disgusted by him. We are- Repulsed by him. Repulsed. Yeah, everything. And- and this is who the maggots picked not once, but twice. Oh, three times. Three times. Well, yeah, because technically I suppose 2020 they could- And they picked him in the primaries too. So yeah, they voted for him several times. And they picked him in part because of the fact that he gave such a revulsion factored everybody else. And you look and you say, why would anybody in their right mind pick somebody who is so enraging and revolting to everybody else? And you do that because you've had 30 years of hate propaganda, poor your head and your heart. Yep. That's- and I- I keep saying if we eliminated all of that right now, if I could snap my fingers,

1:02:57do a Marvel movie exactly and poof eliminate, I bet you, I'd be willing to bet you every piece, every dime that I've ever earned my whole life and ever will earn that the entire country would be significantly better off. Well, there's a whole movie about it. Yeah, brainwash. Yeah, remember the brainwash? Yeah, brainwash. Yeah, remember they would say he's saying what I'm thinking, right? Well, of course he is because they're both watching Fox News. That's it. Right, exactly. Well, see, and this is the thing though, I will say, you know, I mean, not- I'm not going to say, go so far as to say, give credit to him. But one thing they do understand is that they go where these people are having these conversies. So when JD Vance talks about they're eating the dogs, reading the cats and, you know, and and Donald Trump is talking about or whatever they're going to social media. You remember the whole thing, probably those counter-angels or your worst devils? The thing is is that they cultivate the worst. Yes, that's right. And I have said for years that that is, and we have a perfect example this week with this

1:04:01Trumpopalooza thing. Oh my god. Oh my god, it was just crazy. We're for those for those people who might be like your in-laws, Karen, who might not believe it. We will actually play the thing because no matter how patriotic you think you are, you should be pledging your allegiance to the United States if you're a citizen here, right? We don't pledge our allegiance to an individual, right? A figurehead, no. Yeah, well, you can't be a Trump supporter and be a patriot. That's what I say. No, I agree with you.
