Reform UK's Historic Win in Salford By-Election

Michael Fels pulled in 676 votes to edge-out labor's Katherine Goodyear, who got 636, just 33 votes. Behind, this ward was a solid labor stronghold before, but reform flipped it after polls closed Wednesday night, with results dropping around 1215. AM Thursday. Six candidates ran, and Farage wasted no time calling it a huge victory for his party. Farage jumped on X this morning, pointing out how labor's share plunged 30 points, calling it the best sign yet. New counselor Fels was thrilled. Telling reporters, he's delighted to make history as reforms first and suffered. The seat opened up after the death of David Lancaster, England's longest-serving counselor. Labor still runs the council with 45-60 seats alongside a mix of conservatives, lived-ims, and others.
