For slavery reparations from Britain, spokesman Zia Yusuf calls out nations like Nigeria, Jamaica, Kenya, Heidi, Guyana, Barbados, and the Bahamas for overlooking Britain's early moves too, outlaw the slave trade as the first major power. Over the last 20 years, Tory and Labour governments handed out 3.8 million visas to folks from those same countries, plus 6.6 billion pounds in foreign aid. Reform says that's gone far enough, especially with the UN recently voting for reparations from ex-colonial powers like the UK, which abstained along, with 51 others. Yusuf argues these countries ignore the huge sacrifices Britain made to enforce the slavery ban worldwide. The leader Nigel Farage echoed that, blasting the UN for meddling in Britain's past and pushing bankruptcy over old history with zero legitimacy.
