Sunrise this morning hit around 702 AM, and you've got until about 547 PM to get your fishing in. That gives you a solid 10 and a half hours of daylight to work with. For today's bite, according to the lunar forecast for coal facts, we're sitting in average fishing conditions

1:01with major bite times hitting between 238 and 438 AM, and again from 302 to 502 PM. If you can get out there this afternoon, that's when you'll want to be on the water. Water temperatures across Louisiana or in that magic spawning range, we're seeing temps between 60 and 66 degrees. Bass are actively moving shallow right now, and that's your window. Recent reports show the biggest action has been on Toledo Bend, or angers are landing solid fish in the 12-pound class. That tells you the bass are active in feeding. For tackle, you'll want topwater rulers early and late, think buzz baits and poppers. As the sun climbs, switch to crank baits and soft plastics and natural colors. Don't overlook jigs either. If you're looking at catfish, the Merman-Tow River is one of those sleeper spots that's been producing well for blue cats. For hot spots, I tell you to focus on the deeper structure along the Red River main channel, where you've got current breaks.
