Three years back, spots in the same area got painted up, and similar stuff popped off in Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester, Reading, and Huddersfield. Red paint is a classic triad move from southern China and Hong Kong, meant to show anger and push intruders out of their territory. Residents in Kilburn woke up to what they called a murder scene, and felt straight up traumatized. One neighbor saw sketchy activity at the basement flat beforehand, like black bags over windows and a ladder for a quick escape. Clean up gonna run thousands of pounds, and folks are mad about the disrespect hitting their walls and even trees.
