This is the Lockdown Podcast Network celebrating 10 years of your team every day. This is the Raze Post-Cast. Your Instant Game Reactions is a Tampa Bay Rade. Part of the Lockdown Podcast Network. Your team every day. Hello everyone, welcome back to the Tampa Raze Post-Cast. Your spot for instant race reaction after every single game. My name is Jonathan Shields. If you guys are new here a week, cover the race after every single game. And what a win it was for the race and we're going to be here to break it all down. We're going to talk about how this was a big time win. This was a first place in the American League type win. We're going to break that down. We're talking about how well it's absolutely fantastic. Without Baker, the bullpen tax is going into pitching two huge endings to help secure this win. Drew Asherson is going to be forgotten about in this game because of Oranda's awesome hit.

But he was flawless tonight. I mean, he was fantastic. But first, we can't do anything without talking about what a clutch, first of all a clutch, 10th inning, but specifically what a clutch hit by Oranda. This is what you'll be talking about. So first we have to set up the scene because the Raze who rarely at Blowne leads this year. Just the complete opposite of last year go into the top of the 10th after blowing a two-run lead in the eighth inning. You know, Kevin Kelly looked tired. I thought. And you know, he gave up the two runs. And then you go very close by. Well, it's getting out of that first ball. Good play by walls to get lengthened, puzzling down the line to end the eighth. And then you get to the 10th and Taylor wall is which the Raze don't normally do. He bunched to get Mateo to third and then you walk it yondi and then all that brings us to our turning point. Time to reveal where the game was once or lost. It's the turning point. This was such an impressive at bat from from from from Oranda one because

Lats was is incredibly impressive. It's not what he still is. He is an incredibly good pitcher. And he is very very tough on on on on lefties and you know whether you have even met you know, who came in after him, but he's incredibly tough. He was an all start this year. And Oranda just battled about about it got down O2 took the high fast. Well, so teams are trying to get him with. And then what happened you he threw he threw first of all he threw right into a run to swing path. And then it was an off speed push that he hung and a ronda didn't miss right off the bat. Oranda knew was gone right off the bat. Oranda knew was gone and right off the bat. I give the raise a three run lead and those were the hits that were missing last year and those are the hits of the race and getting more consistently this year. And that's why they're just a different team this year is why there are problem not why. Am I paying they should be favor to come out of the American league. This was a win that you know the raise last year don't win. This was a game last year the race don't win. This was a game two years ago the race don't win. But this was game this year the race win because they're that kind of team.

And that I can't tell you how good that feels because for a long time and I say a long time poor Rockies fans haven't felt this in 15 years. But for a long time the last two years. When you blow that lead it's oh the games over when the race blow the lead this year it's okay when it's the comeback starting. And what a what a just turn of events what a flip in the mind for that to happen with that being said let's get your player to get. This is the lock down player of the game. You could go a ton of different ways here you know I would definitely want to highlight a ronda because what a swing that was. But I also want to briefly touched on drew rassetson we're going to talk about more in a second so co player the games with a ronda and rassetson. I never feel more comfortable with any picture on the mound than when drew rassetson on the mound. I know that 95% of time I'm going to get really good stuff and again we talk about comforting feelings what a comforting feeling it is against Jacob to ground by the way who's for my money when he's been at his best.

Jacob to ground from we talk about yesterday was a 2016 to 19 whenever that run was. I would take Jacob to ground that is peak over Verland over Scherzer and maybe I'm crazy over Kershaw maybe I'm maybe I'm crazy for that but I think at their very best to ground was better than all those guys. And I'm not saying that he had a better career I'm not saying he's better all time than no but I'm saying when they're both of them all four of those guys with the very best to ground. I just have a little bit ahead I say all that to say you're going to go up against Jacob to ground who last year at a sub three or ERA he's coming off seven and he's won a hit eight strikeouts last time out so you know you have to be really good and your ass was in was really good but what's about more him more in a second but you know we got to talk about the offense more in the first few unions junior matches his a. And so now he's leading 38th Homer what a player absolutely what a player I was talking about it with one of my buddies today junior knock on wood is on pace to play every single game and start every game of the field that's incredible difficult to do and the fact that he's been able to keep up not only the power but the average you're over 280 again.

after having this 15 game heading street snapped back to back multi hit games, which is just huge, absolutely huge. And then Richie for the second straight game hits a Homer. And with the bottom of the line of the mixture of Mullins, Placios, Walls, you know, there's a few X factors I'm looking at, that's one of the X factors I'm looking at going in the postseason because you just don't know where you're going to get out of this throughout offensively. So to get anything offensively out of those three is a huge plus for the race. In this game, and going forward, but huge. And then tied by huge eighth inning Liam Hicks, just whenever the race needed to hit huge, I've said huge much, but just comes up in so clutch for the race because it just seems like whenever the race need to hit. And after you go through the big three before, remember, Sajr Bollins hit fourth for a long time, just wasn't the play. You know, you put Chandler there, yeah, he's a good contact guy. He really really wanted me to fourth. I didn't hate it, but Liam Hicks just just slots in there so well. And then he hits fourth right there, RBI single, Razemeek 3-1. Obviously, we talked about

Kevin Kelly already to give up those runs was tough. And then, you know, Booser came in to help out too, but the offense continues to impress me with their resiliency, first of all. And then, you know, it's just to never give up. And I know it's like cliche that you hear that in sports movies and stuff, but it's something that you really feel with this team. And a lot of the time, it's blown into your own lead on the road without Baker, without Clevver and Joe, without Rodriguez, you know, without what McLean Hand just got on the aisle and a place where you won once in the last four years. And a lot of teams can be like, man, like here we go again, not this team, it completely flipped around and turned the game around. And again, I'm the same for about the fourth time of the day. It's a very comforting feeling knowing that going forward. So we still have so much for my breakdown. We're going to go right back to talk about the pitching because we are X factor has to do with pitching staff because I thought for the most part they were fantastic today. And then, we're going to look ahead to how the race can secure this series win all about it more right after

this. The set up shows right to you guys by Amazon. And a big thanks to our friends at Amazon for this limited ad break. This back school season spend less on your kids with Amazon. We don't know how crazy the back school shopping experience can be. It starts with a few items on list and suddenly you're shopping for supplies, clothes, lunch, gear, tech, and about 10 other things you didn't see coming. And that's a fast. When you buy clothes, you're back to school and your kids suddenly has a growth spread two weeks later. And you're right back where you started. Sometimes it generally feels like they're grown faster than your budget can keep you can keep up. And when you're shopping for a few back school essentials and you realize how quickly the list goes, grows supplies, clothes, lunch, gear, headphones, it just keeps going. That's why finding low prices and all the things you need makes such a big difference this time of year. So remember with Amazon's low back school prices just spend less on your kids because ever at all you don't spend on them. It's all you haven't spent on them. Shop back school at Amazon. It's been less on your kids. If you guys are in the live, please make sure you leave a like and comment. Thank you for taking

time out of your college football. First week of college football Saturday to spend some time with us. And you know, check out if you guys are a college football fan. Lockdown is not just M will be, for example, I'm a Gator fan. The Lockdown Gators page does a great job. One of the best Lockdown pages that they're all out there. So make sure whether college football, whatever check, check, check out whatever fan team you are for Lockdown. So with that being said, let's get to our X factor for today's game. It's time to reveal who made the biggest under the radar impact with today's X factor. Well, so we got to go to Tyler Wells. I mean, the job he did in the ninth and 10th and he's massive. I mean, two and he's three strikeouts doesn't allow run. Not even the ghost runner to start the top of the 10th comes in. Just ridiculous. I absolutely ridiculous stuff. And when the race needed most, and you know, he's unique and he's six eight and he doesn't throw 100. Well, you might see a lot of six eight guys do. Those 93, but his cutter sliders ridiculous, as fastball spots up really well. And today, he was really good with all that. And a big reason why the race were able to win this game. I mean, I would say one of the biggest reasons why the race

were able to win this game. And you know, when you see that, it's just another guy, hopefully, fingers crossed. When the race get healthy, you throw into that mix with Kelly with Baker with fingers crossed club injury, because it figured out with Booser. And now Rodriguez, if he's healthy, Wells, right? That's five, six guys I just named just again, a very comforting feeling to say the very least shout out Wells. Do you want to touch on Drew Rasmussen one more time? Again, seven eights three hits seven strikeouts. It's just it's what we expect with him now. I mean, I'm not going to say anything less is not expected because you know, he said a few more of those high earned run games over used to this year. But man, has he just been special this year? He should finish top three and saw young voting this year for the race has just been the, you know, just Mr. Reliable all year long when the race needed them, whether it's coming up in a big moment in the seventh ending, the first ending getting with runners on strikeout stuff. So I mean, he does everything. And you know, he's just so unique. And you know, he's your game one starter and the yes,

yes, and World Series, if the race are hopefully, hopefully, to get there. So again, big shout out to Drew, big shout out to Drew Rasmussen once again. Just fantastic from him. But again, big time win. I want to touch on this one more time. Last year's team doesn't win this game. Only the type of teams that win this game or the teams that are going to be playing in the A.L. DSCS and World Series. And again, I'll say for the last time, incredibly comforting to have that feeling knowing that when, you know, when stuff hits the fan, your team has a resiliency to bounce back in a big way. Huge guys and don't take this for granted. With that being said, let's look ahead at the game tomorrow as a race will finish out. Thankfully, their time in Texas, 235 first pitch. But Kenzie Gore will be going against for the Rangers and the race phase score earlier this year. They got on him for three earned in the first setting. If you guys remember that. And then he went six endings, basically perfect. That he finished seven and he's three earned nine strikeouts on the game where the race ended up winning because they got some very good starting pitching up their own. And he'll go

against Ian Seymour. Seymour has just been incredibly reliable all year for the race. His line doesn't look as good as it should from that match game. But he led it. The American League in strikeouts in the month of August. He's got 48 strikeouts and 35 minutes. And the strikeout stuff, I mean, like, Ian, I know he was only up for a cup of coffee, a little bit more than a cup of coffee last year. But his strikeout stuff, I mean, that guess it was, but I don't remember being as noticeable as it was today. I mean, he was just massive, absolutely massive today. But again, for the race, with McGor, don't let him get comfortable. And we saw that when he got comfortable, he dominated the race. So don't let him get comfortable. Get on him early. So, you know, we'll see. Again, I think for the race, you won in San, at least a split. So now for the race, you get to get a little bit greedy. Again, you're not going to have Kelly. You're not going to have boots. I doubt you have Baker tomorrow either. And then you're not going to have wells. So you're missing your top four guys, you're a bullpen right now. I mean, Solsler who just got caught up. Johnson, who the race just caught up. You know, you're going to see some different faces in the bullpen. If the

do indeed get there. But let's get to the comments. Whole lot of comments here. And I appreciate all you guys will start delegates by T.C. says Tyler also looks so confident. And on an in control on the mound, what a great pickup of the trade deadline. Yeah, he's been awesome. He has been awesome. As a grainer, says the race continued in press man, how they overcome challenges. Hope they keep this up. Me too. I mean, I would love for them to keep it up. I see Jack in here. I see Matty AJ W in here. I appreciate that as well. Robert Williams says Kelly's velocity was down. He's been used a lot. Hopefully the arms. Okay. I mentioned that too. That's a very astute comment because yeah, I've seen that too. As we go, the shadow sound is now we have a winning streak here. How about that? He said, how about that? Absolutely awesome. As we go to Gary, a clutch home run by Jonathan Rondock race, closer Jacob Latz and the bullpen with close with Brian Baker out. If the race are going to make a deep run October close, low scoring games and you to win. Absolutely. Absolutely. As good as Jose Rodriguez, Ronda better be where the game was lost in the turning point. He was. So good job. Good job predicting that. So go to max series says, Jonathan, your boy Ronda was

clutch tonight. The race are 13 to 5 on Rondock's home or 25 4 and 5 when two players are more hit home. So great stat. Appreciate that. And it's just speaks to again, how dynamic the race are. Yes, remember it. And it's so unique how this team, how teams in general go through seasons. I remember in the eight in April, the race couldn't hit the they weren't on for it in the home runs. It was small ball. It was a bunch and it was a speed and the race still have that. But this year more than last year, now you have that power element that just makes this team. I mean, we talked about ceiling razors, floor razors, ceiling, you know, but whatever. And that really changes the dynamic of this team that I think. So as we continue to go through here as Gary mentions, Kevin Kelly, less than 20 wins away from 1000. I think I'm forced from after work to next year for that, right? Right? And let's go into crazy run here. But yeah, that's cool. Let's go to school. Here he says, we had the one of the best deadline. That will be a lot of great moves. Yeah, just think about this deadline. I mean, well, it comes up huge in the ninth and 10th who had the raise clutch at the time of the eighth lean Hicks. Two guys acquired to be a trade. Two guys,

by the way, also very big dimension. This have multiple years of control. They're both beyond the team next year, which is just absolute huge. I love that the Yankees fan randomly in here. So guys, I'm, you know, every guy that I love when other teams fans come in, comes in here. It just means you're doing something right. So again, the Yankees and Razor, the two best teams of the American League. So, you know, the score will be set or first of all, and settled in the first one in September. And then once again, probably in the playoffs. So once again, guys, first of all, I appreciate all you guys being in here. Make sure to leave a like, comment, subscribe tomorrow at 235 Gore versus Seymour. And then the raise head to Atlanta after a off day on Monday. The race had to Atlanta, which will be quite the, quite the series. That all thanks considered because Atlanta is one of the hottest teams in baseball. And the raise don't get Martinez or Rossips and going to series and they're going to have to face Chris sales. So we'll see how that one goes. It makes the one tomorrow a little bit more

important, I think. But with the Yankees winning today, the raise the the raise the lead in the division will stay at four. But you know, once again, staying at four is quite, it's quite a good thing, I think, because the Yankees did lose last night in extras. And we talked about it. You want to go in. So once again, as we'll get out here after this, the raise go to Atlanta. And then they have the three three team homestand. They play Houston, the A's in Boston, and then go to New York for four. When you get to that New York group for four, you want to be up at least three games because not only that, you win one of those games, you get the tiebreaker and then even if you're up three games, basically, you're up four because you own the tiebreaker. So that's the goal, I think going there because the Yankees after this, they have a pretty soft schedule. I remember, I think they get the Rockies at some point. I think they get the twins who they always be yet. So they go Rockies twins, Rockies met twins who, you know, three pretty favorable matchups, I think, for the Yankees, they say that they're at least. But, you know, as well, and with one last comment here, we'll go to Walter. He says, Tyler Wells has been a godsend, an equifuller on it, bring

up some of these guys from the miners. This is again, worries some of these guys trying not to the mound. The grass isn't, it is not always greener. I will say so, yes, some of the guys might be looking good in the miners, but you never know what they look like when they eventually get to the major. So, yeah, again, we'll see what happens there, but yeah, Tyler Wells has been a godsend. I agree with that, but again, if you guys are in the life, please make sure you leave a like, comment, subscribe. We'll be right back tomorrow. Hopefully we're talking about another race. So you guys then. A big thank you to our friends at Amazon for this limited break. This back to school season, spend less on your kids with Amazon. Now, we all know how crazy the back to school shopping experience can be starts with a few items on the list. And suddenly, you're shopping for supplies, clothes, lunch gear, tacking about 10 other things you didn't see coming, and it adds up fast,

like when you buy clothes for back to school, and your kid has a growth spurt two weeks later, and you're right back where you started. Sometimes it genuinely feels like they're growing faster than your budget can keep up or when the teacher supply list arrives and somehow every item feels completely reasonable on its own. Then you add everything together and realize just how much stuff one kid needs for one school year. And that's why finding low prices on all things you need make such a big difference this time of year. So remember, with Amazon's low back to school prices, just spend less on your kids because every dollar you don't spend on them is a dollar you haven't spent on them. Shout back to school at Amazon and spend less on your kids. Thank you for making Lockdown your first listen every day. For your second listen, find the all-night Lockdown MLB Game Night.
