You are listening to us on the Rage of Bowers show on Building Fortunes Radio. We are here promoting the Building Fortunes Radio segment with Mr. Rage of Bowers. We've been doing this for a number of years and this is available on that website as well as on the podcast repeaters I call them, Amazon. Music, we have iTunes from Apple. We do Spotify. We're also on things like, oh gosh,

where are I Heart Radio player FM? A whole bunch of other ones as well. The big podcast repeaters as well as the small ones that we're here to be able to help make a difference in your world if you'll listen. And then if you're looking to work with someone, you could certainly work with Mr. Rage of Bower. We've been doing these radio shows for a number of years now and they've kind of picked up a pattern where Ray, like myself, likes acronyms. I love acronyms. So we put acronyms on Building Fortunes Radio.com for its last music. You'll be able to hear some of them if you go there, but on Ray's side, what he'll do is he'll pick a word that a homemaker, he'll make an acronym into a word and then we'll do three separate radio shows on each letter. And he started a new acronym two weeks ago and the acronym is Stop STLP. And the first radio show that he did, and you can go back to Building Fortunes Radio. Listen to these all over again. But the first was a little bit of an overview of the philosophy of the acronym Stop STLP. Then he came back and did the first S in the word or the acronym Stop. And tonight, I think we're going to do the second

S, I believe, is where we're up to. And I always recommend that you take one of several different philosophies. You can just kind of listen in, enjoy it, or you might take some notes. And you're probably going to listen again because there's always a lot of stuff that you might miss on that first brush through it. So Mr. Rage of Bower, thanks for being here on your own radio show. Hey, thank you, Peter. I really appreciate you and this opportunity to have this opening to share some ideas that I think I believe I'm convinced can make a significant difference. Because ultimately, even though we're all different in some ways, we're all the same in one way. We all want to have a better life. You all want to be happy. We want to have healthy. We want to have a degree of success and significance. But that doesn't happen automatically. That does take intention and effort and consistency. So to make the world a better place in general

and your personal world a better place, that's why we provide this information on these radio shows. Because I know it will make a meaningful positive difference for you. So like Peter said, I really like to use acronyms to make things easier to remember. And so I started a new acronym, Stop SDOP. And last week we did the first F, which was the word seed. And I think it was a really good call. I'd recommend going back and listening to it if you haven't yet already. And it relates to sewing and reaping, planning seed, and a lot of really useful ideas. That's just a concept, but you know, an pragmatic practical application. So we're going to cover a second word to start some ask this week. And before I jump into that, I'd always fun to have Peter make his guess and

watch him strike out like he usually does. But I'll give you a clue, it rhymes with drive. That's a such a fair clue that it's almost like you're making me feel bad because you made it so easy. I'm going to go for strive. I got it right. I'm sure. Bingo, yeah, you got it right this time. Well, I made it a lot easier with my clue, but anyway, you did. It'd be nice. So yeah, you didn't strike out this time. You know, once in a blue moon, you don't strike out. Anyway, yeah, so it's about striving. So striving is sort of like trying,

but it's much stronger. The higher level is a it's a concerted, focused effort to achieve something. To achieve something that's meaningful. Like he could strive to be a good parent, to strive to be, to create a good marriage. He strives to have a good business, strive to become financially independent, strive to become healthy again. That's that's a big one. But the first base on striving, you know, for it to actually be meaningful, there's two components that you really need as a foundation. First of all, you have to have a clear purpose. So why are you striving? Why not just relax and you know, close through life? Well, there's the time for you just coasting and enjoying life, whatever. But there's also time to be striving. So why? So you have to have your why. What is your purpose?

That has to be a meaningful purpose. Like the famous book man search for meaning. So what's meaningful to you that will cause you to strive for something. And secondly, it goes along with that is clarity. You've got to be clear. It can't be just vague in general. Like you want to strive to be happy. You know, it has to be really more specific than that. So I've got three points. I like to limit my points to three because it gets more difficult to remember things when you get past three. So three applications to strive, just striving. The first one is just strive to be a better you. The second one, well, get to is strive to make a positive difference, to make the world a better place, including your world. And number three, strive to achieve your top three goals. So

all three are distinctive and different. But the most important one is that most foundational application of striving is this first one. And I remember what Jim Roan said over and over. He said, for things to change, you've got to change. And the Bible says something similar, says you can be transformed by changing your mind, changing how you think renewing your mind. Springtimes the perfect time to turn the page and refresh your home style. The only problem, it can be expensive. Luckily, there's a better way to shop well-worthy pieces for less at Bob's discount furniture. Bob's negotiates with manufacturers to get you the best everyday low prices, giving the shopping power back to you. The power to get more style comfort and quality for less on amazing pieces, like stylish mid-century dining sets made for hosting those big spring branches, pop up sleeper sectionals with all the bells and whistles so you can turn any room into

a guest room and next level Bobo-Pedic mattresses so you can get a great night's rest after you finish redecorating every room. So when you're ready to spring into new style, stop into your nearest store or shop online and see how you can get well-worthy style for less with Bob's discount furniture. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 Racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to ChumbaCasino.com. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary, VTW Group, voidware prohibitive by law, CTNCs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. So the best place to start, the foundation is to strive to be a better you. For things to change, you've got to change. So you've got to change something. Some things you've got to just delete and stop. Some things you've got to do less of. Some things you've got to do more of. Some things you know brand new. You've never done before. But for me, that's probably my number one goal in life to be a better me. And the key word for me is optimization. I'm going to optimize my life,

including myself, my personal life. And there's some specifics. Better you include things like wisdom in making better decisions. Knowledge by itself is the booby prize. Okay, so you have all this knowledge. So what? You can still make bad decisions. You can still make huge mistakes. So we want to have wisdom, discernment, where we apply the knowledge accurately. And from a spiritual perspective, wisdom is seeing life from God's point of view. It's a perspective. Another aspect of a better you, which is what Big Alps really recommends that wisely, is to have better skills. Yeah, you've got to start with good intentions. But intention is just one part of the password. You've got to work on your skills. So what do you

actually say? What's your beginning statement? How do you have a more influence? How do you have better conversations? How do you connect with people? How do you establish rapport? How do you develop trust? And another aspect of a better you is learning how to focus. A lot of people are pretty scattered. But remember this, one of my favorite quotes from Jim Rohn, like I just said, for things to change, you've got to change. And those are some of the things you can work on. The other aspect of becoming a better you, which my opinion is the most important one, is what's the best word? Your identity. How you see yourself is your mindset. Who are you? How do you see yourself? And for me, there's a universal, best perspective on how to see yourself

that will make the biggest difference. And I always talk about this just about every radio show because I think it's most fundamental foundational to everything else. So you want to identify as a lover of God and others using my definition that I came up with, my model of the four dimensions of love. So if you want to be a better you and have a better life for things to change, you've got to change. This is one of the foundations of loving in all four dimensions, like four wheels on a car, or four bases on a baseball diamond, which is the four Cs of caring, connecting, committing, and creating value. You know, doing good. So if that's your mindset and that's your identity that you are a person who loves in those four ways, you connect, I mean, you care and you connect, you commit for a win-win,

and you are doing good. You're creating, creating value, you're a creator. And the creating value, that's particularly the action element of love. And in the Bible, that's the greatest commandment. It's the love of all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, which correspond to the caring, connecting, committing, and creating value. And then because you are doing this, you see yourself as a lover of God and others, the least of others, then you want to help other people have the same perspective to make the world a better place, you know, to get along better, to have, you know, a better connection. So for me, adopting this mindset of the four dimensions of love is like the core value of personal development. There's a lot of other elements, but in a broader sense, personal development is the other huge piece of being a better you,

which has to do with learning from others, and sometimes not so much learning, but unlearning, getting rid of limited beliefs. And so for that to happen, you need to connect with other people, you know, you need to have a coach, you need to have a mentor. You've probably heard of Tony Robbins, right? Pretty famous guy. Well, who was his mentor? Who was his coach? Initially, it was Jim Rohn, you know, he was mine. Back in the 70s, he used to listen to his cassette tapes all over and over and over again, he used to go to his weekly meeting Friday night in Anaheim, California, a couple hundred people, and it was life changing because he was a good mentor. So personal development doesn't happen that much just on your own to some extent it can, but if you want to celebrate becoming a better you, so you can have a better life,

so you'd be happier and healthier and all that you want, you've got to invest time and energy and probably some money into your personal development. Yeah, that's what I did. I was pretty clueless when I was young. But fortunately, I discovered that to have a better life, I need to learn from others because you don't know what you don't know. Over time, I invested over $100,000 in my personal development. I invested a lot more than that in other investments, most of which never worked out. But the best investment I ever made was investing in myself, in my personal development. So that's the first application of striving. Described to be a better you, it covers all these things, you know, the mindset, the four dimensions of love, personal development, you know,

finding codes, you know, mentoring and so forth. Some of those you can just get on YouTube now. The second application is you want to strive on a broader sense to make the world a better place, or to make a positive difference. Let me say that first. So we're not just existing and surviving, but part of striving is that you are making a positive difference. And that's what love does. Love, the fourth dimension of love is creating, creating value. So when you create value, you make a positive difference. And not only does that improve the world to some extent, but it improves you. You feel more valuable, you feel more important, more significant when you are doing good, and you're kind, and you're helpful, and you're serving others, and your commitment always includes the win,

not just to say, make a sale, so you make some money, because you need to make some money to survive. But do it in a way where the other person is better off too. It's a win, win. That's what love does. It's a commitment for win, win. And it includes the other four, three elements, do it. And you may want to make a list of like everything you want, maybe 10, 20 things. And then go through and pick the top three. He can't work on 10 things at once, or five. Three is probably the maximum. Otherwise, you're too scattered. So what are your top three goals that you want to achieve in your life? So you want to strive, and you can't just have the goals

and see if that happens. You want to be striving for that. And of course, like I said at the beginning, if you want to achieve anything, including your top three goals, you've got to have a clear purpose and clarity. You've got to be specific. What is it that you want? Like one of your goals, I think really should be to be healthy, mentally, emotionally, and physically, especially in a culture that we are programmed to live unhealthy lifestyle as if it's normal. So most people eat way too much ultra-processed food, you jump food, which as a result, 80% of adults are diabetic. 30% of children are diabetic. Diabetes used to be an old person's disease. It used to be rare. Now it's 80%, half the people get cancer. 50,000 people die every day

between cancer and heart disease. So it was up to you, but my suggestion is you might want to make that one of your top three goals is to optimize your health. Maybe get your health back. If you have diabetes, you're overweight, or whatever your issues are, like blood pressure, high blood sugar, you can reverse most all of that, but it takes time and energy, it takes some striving. So you want to strive for whatever your personal goals are, and I'm just suggesting that should be one of them, because like the Bible says, I've come that you might have life and life more abundantly. So we want to have a abundant life, a good life. I remember reading somewhere that people have many, many desires and goals until they lose their health, and then they have one goal, which is to be healthy again. So that is bringing a

high priority without your health. The greatest wealth is your health. If you're too casual, you become a casualty. So my strong suggestion is make that one of your top three. Another goal might be financial, or might be your marriage, but go through your list of your top 10 or 20, select the top three, and focus on striving to achieve those. Race to chumpacacino.com. Let's chamba. No purchase necessary, VTW Group, voidware prohibited by law, CTNCs, 21 plus sponsored by chamba casino. So here's some tips of what you can do to be more effective in achieving your goals, in striving to achieve those top three goals. First of all, you got to move it from your brain onto paper. Write it down. And I usually write it down just every day. Just repeat it. Just writing it down, not just typing it, but using your hand in a pen or a pencil, writing on paper, ideally in your journal, it reinforces it. Along that line, also the repetition. So writing it down, not just once, but every day, so that repetition makes it stronger. It creates the strength of those neural pathways. And then you also visualize. Visualize, not just what would it be like, but visualize how you would

feel when you achieve, say, one of those goals. Or ideally, all three. How would it make you feel? And in the meantime, you've got to feel strongly enough about it right now. Otherwise, you're going to say you can forget about it, you're not going to do it. So you feel your rocket fuel to get anything done if you have to have strong feelings about it. Otherwise, you're not going to do it. You might like new year's resolutions. How long does that actually work out? What could possibly go wrong? Well, they almost never work because you don't feel strongly enough about it. Most people are too oriented to short-term pleasure. First is the long-term pleasure of having a better life, which comes from discipline and consistency. But so visualization really does help seeing the future possibility as if it's already

done or seeing yourself in process, writing in your journal, how you're doing every day. You know, today I made progress. Today I went backwards. Today I forgot about it. But you know, so keeping track on paper besides, you know, visualizing it. And then like I mentioned, you want to be consistent, you know, every day if you want it. And plus, we can't create stress, we create mostly our own stress. But there is a way to strive without creating stress. I guess the best way to say that is you don't want to link your sense of value to your achievements. Otherwise, you're going to be really stressed. So you commit to doing the best that you can, the fastest you can, whatever happens. Oh, well, that's the way it is. But you don't want to

diminish your commitment, but you don't want to have stress about it. You want to have peace and be calm and you're committed, doing whatever it takes, you know, repetition, visualizing. And the other thing that helps, well, two things more, actually accountability. If you really want to empower yourself, you want to create accountability with somebody. It would be your spouse for a coach or your best friend. Ideally, on a daily basis, even just a text message, a scale from 0 to 10. Today, I was at 8, or I was at a 3, or I was at a 10 today, you know, on making progress, working on taking the goal, or all three of them. So you want accountability. And more broadly, you want to, to some extent, go public, tell people like, hey, you know, I'm working on a major

goal. I got to get my health back. Or I'm working on getting my finances so that I'm financially stable and I have more financial freedom. I can do more travel or whatever it is you want to do. You know, give more, help people, you know, or orphanages or whatever. But when you go public, maybe even on Facebook, you say, you know, I've identified the three, my three top goals. And share maybe one of them, or maybe all three. So I'm going public, just let you know that I'm committed to doing whatever it takes. And it's a journey, it's a process. So that that helps empower you when you sort of create a broad accountability. But you let other people know what you're up to, what you're planning on doing. So those are the three top applications that's driving.

As the most driving can be, have a negative sense to it too. But I'm using it strictly in the pause way. You want to strive. It's like you're really focused on achieving something. So the three applications is number one, strive to be a better you. That's more important than striving for your three goals. It's more important than striving to make a positive difference. The foundation is you. Without you, nothing else is going to happen. You want to be a better you. You want to be smarter, stronger or wiser, more loving, more humble and more kind and serving and giving, but better you. And number two, striving to help others make a positive difference, make the world a better place. And number three, striving to achieve your top three

goals. Which you've got to identify, get clarity and make sure there's a strong purpose, a strong feeling behind them. Otherwise, it's going to fade. So your rocket fuel here is how strongly you feel about it based on your purpose, which includes running it down, repetition, visualizing feelings, consistency, accountability, going public. All those elements help empower you to get to where you want to go and to get there faster. So I think that's a cover for today, Peter, any any comments or questions about writing? It's a good word. I like the word strive. Yeah, I mean, it's just good. It's a good word. Yeah, you know, I never used that word. You know, on the fact that last night, I was so struggling

to find a word. So I asked AI, you know, to give me the top, give me 20 words to start with F related to personal development. And once you're all 20 and none of them really resonated with me. And on that list, so I didn't use anything, but then I thought somehow I came up with the word strive. Oh, that's a good one. I'll go with that. Well, drive with drive. I like it. Well, I like the word because it implies like you're not giving up and you're pushing, pushing, pushing, you're going to get it done. So I like the word. It's a great word. Good job. Yes, sweet. Yeah. So for those people that want to work with you, how do they find you? Well, it's pretty easy. I'll give you my phone number. Let me throw out one more phrase that ties into this. Sure. When you're too casual, you become a casualty in any respect, whether you're driving or your health or your spiritual life. And so being casual is like the opposite of striving.

Striving is like you're committed to this journey. So, but if you do casual, like, well, it doesn't really matter. You know, whatever. So being too casual can be your enemy. So anyway, my phone number is actually a Washington State phone number is 425-333-8472. So you call or text me anytime. And I guarantee you two things. One, I can't help you at all if you don't call. So we got to connect. That's the second element of love, right? You got to carry. You got to connect. So right now, the phone, audio or video call is the best way to connect. And I guarantee that if we do have a conversation that in some way I'll be able to help you, either in what you're doing or maybe figuring out something different to do or maybe you're sort of stuck and you're feeling hopeless or

you just need a new strategy. I need to work on new skills. But one of the best sources for that is Big Al, you know, Tom Strider, who is this year also in time. He's written like 40 some books. I've written 12, but he's way ahead of me 40 some books and he has some of the best training on skills. So you can start doing that right away. So anyway, so reach out to me if you're interested. And the meantime, do yourself a big favor and I'd recommend let's me do this a second or third time. And do others a favor and invite them to listen to these broadcasts because I think these are loaded with good ideas that can enrich your life to elevate you, to make you help you become a better person, which means you'll be happier and healthier. So that's why I just time doing this because I want to make the world a better place. So my Peter does what he does, you know,

to help make the world a better place, make a positive difference. So if you want some support, now you can call me. I don't charge anything. My phone number again is 425-333-8472. So I think that's a wrap for today. Anything else, Peter? Nope, all good stuff. So we're going to see you next week and next week we're going to go over that third S in the acronym Stop and for those people who want to hear the first two all over again, make sure you go check them out and go to buildinfortuneradio.com.
