Okay, so here's what we're going to do. I have picked out two legacy GM slash owners to include in this exercise. And then the large majority of guys that we will be talking about today are contemporary GMs, presidents of basketball operations, executives in the league that have run teams over the last about 20 years and discussing who are the worst of the worst when it comes to general managing. I went through all of the moves that they made. Obviously, this we're not going to do full on slop trials here, but we'll do a little bit of a run through. We absolutely have to start with Billy King, which is why we have will in the house. Obviously Billy King ran the six years before he ran the nets, although that 10 years a little bit more of a mix bag when he was with us. He really shit the bed when he was with the nets. So well, I'm just going to do a I have some things written down here, but I want to do a little bit of a clear out for you since you are this is kind of your your up and
inder moment. And I want you to go on a little spiel here about Mr. Billy Kay and his front office. So we're like I'm not going to bother with like anybody who's mentally ill enough to be listening to an NBA podcast on September 2nd, like knows about the Gerald Wallace trade and the Pierce KG trade. I didn't really bother focusing on those so much, but before any of that shit, like the first summer, this guy was employed. So Vince Carter, middle of his prime star, the team's not good anymore. So they trade him to the magic. That's a normal trade. And part of the trade, they get Courtney Lee, who was a starter on, I mean, like he's kind of known for like missing the layup first of the Lakers, I know, but like that's like a normal trade. Like he was, I think started most of their playoff games as a rookie. He was a fine player. Yeah, like I honestly think if he came in later, like he could have been like he was kind of like the 3 and D darling, like before people really like, he was a little KCPish, I thought. But anyways, like normal trade. And then one year later, after the, you know, Lee has like kind of a predictable overtax
to his efficiency goes down, but like he's still on his second, he's not even halfway through his rookie deal. They trade him for Troy Murphy. Who made who to be clear, there were two different explanations for this. Number one was that they wanted to clear cap space to sign Carmelo Anthony two years later because Murphy was an expiring contract who made more than $10 million. Lee made $2 million a year. So it's a salary jump, the guy making $2 million a year for a guy who made 17% of the cap, which for today's standards is $28 million. Yeah, we'll kept saying he was like, you got to use like the inflated numbers and I'm like, I just don't have time for the math. You guys can't do math. I can do math. Yeah, I'm not. I'm sorry. So he was actually pretty good before he got to the nets. Like he was kind of like a stretch for like a little Ryan Anderson, he could make three as he rebounded. And he goes to the nets. The year before he's on the nets, he averages 15 and 10 on a 59 shooting.
And 59 shooting back then was like very good. And his BPM is a plus 2.9. It's trading nets. He's injured and mostly comes off the bench. He averages four and four on 39 true shooting. His BPM falls from plus 2.9 to negative 3.2. And then the following deadline, he has flipped for Brandon Wright, who was the Warriors third center, averaged eight minutes per game. The nets threw in a second round pick into that trade. That draft pick was Dremon Green. Oh, right. He was the 35th pick in the draft. Right. On the side, it's crazy to draft a Hall of Famer. Shoulder trading your own second round pick for a third center when you're one of the worst in the NBA. Also traded there for traded that they two Hall of Famers were selected with netstrap picks in the 2012 NBA draft. The Tatum Brown thing has been talked to death, but the Gerald Wallace trade plus that trade, they traded away two picks that became Hall of Fam play. I mean, the luck is obviously insane as you point out, but two of the three best players
in that draft outside of Anthony Davis. I mean, it is unfathomable to run your organization in this. So that's my first disaster move that no one talks about. I have second one. In 2010, they signed Travis Outlaw to a five year contract for a judge. I had that read down. I'm not saying five years, 100 million in terms of percentage of the cap. He is amnesty in year two. They cut him in the second year of a five year, 100 million dollar contract. So that means when the quote unquote super team was together with Pearson KG, they were paying Travis Outlaw's $10 million salary. It wasn't on the books because of the amnesty clause, but broke rock had to pay. And then as we know, they later trade for Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson, who was the fourth highest paid player in the NBA, both of which were to get Darren Williams to stay. Darren Williams, who had made all NBA one time. One time. And by the way, I went back and looked at that trade obviously because Darren treebers in seven and I'm getting it. So all in all, to get Darren Williams to stay, they trade a 26 year old point guard who had
made an all sort team of his own. Two top three picks. And his cancer was the third overall pick. And that could have been so much worse. No, no, the Darren Williams trade could have been a fucking disaster. It really could have been just as bad as Hayden Brad. I was going to say, he favors if Hayden, who people thought he was. Two top three picks. And then for Gerald Wallace, the sixth pick in 2012. So three years in a row, they traded the third pick, the third pick, and the sixth pick for Darren Williams in Gerald Wallace. And then the Joe Johnson trade, they give up a top 20 pick. And then an additional pick swap that makes them go from 15 to 30 in 2015. Because of course, the hawks just went 60 games on a fucking nowhere. So by the way, all of Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson and Darren Williams, so they traded three top six picks and six first round picks in total. All three of them were bought out with multiple years left on their contracts. None of them, by the way, contracts they were on. One of the things that people will say to not justify the Pierce Garnet trade, but the
one thing they will say is, well, ownership just all of a sudden stopped spending. It's like, dude, how popiers and Kevin Garnet were washed. Literally Kevin Garnet played one more year in the NBA, actually getting fat young out of that was kind of a nice move. Well, yeah, no, since then they got levered when they got for it. And then they created him for heart. But what I'm trying to say is that they actually, like even if ownership was spending to the fucking moon, they were spending out of their ass, they were spending so much because they had to amuse all those contracts because they were fucking dogs and buy these guys out. But then on top of that, Paul Pearson, Kevin Garnet weren't good anymore. Literally within seconds of leaving the Celtics, they were fine. They were good the first year. And then that was it. Like, this is why you don't trade for players when they're give up real draft capital when the guys are in their mid 30s. Excuse you. Excuse you. Wizards, Paul Pierce and the game winning John O'Rourketers. Yes. Thank you.
Respect my demon. So, three biggest payrolls that year were the nets. And then the nicks and lakers were two, three, both of whom missed the playoffs. That was going to be fun. That was a dark period in all their franchises. So just really quickly, I mean, it is unbathomable. The nets traded top 10 picks in 2011, 2012, as Will pointed out they traded the guys that got at the top of the 2010 draft. So that's three straight drafts that they traded top 10 picks. And they traded top 10 picks in 2016, 2017, and 2018, which was luckily, colleagues sexting could have been shagged. You'll just have to be in the 24. I, well, that's the next runoff. So I can't really put that on Billy. It also could have been Michael Bordeaux Jr. Like it's not just SGA, like you know, that was a draft. Yeah. Billy King traded six top six picks. Thank you, Count Eric Davis. And Columnsex, it was the ace pick in a stack draft that they traded in.
Top eight picks, my bad. Yeah, yeah. How many all NBA teams did he, like selections did he trade? Because that would be a pretty funny dream. So it's just it's just Tate and Pasha. Tate and Pasha on Jaylen Brown. Damien Liller. Damien Liller. I mean, that's, that's a lot. That's like, that's at least 20. Like, no, it could be like 13 or if that. Okay. 13 all NBAs, but I think it's like 25 all star games like. So 14. How many times has Dramon made all and be like probably probably. There we go. So it's 16 all in twice 16 all 16 all NBAs is pretty fucking nuts. Like that's a crazy. That's a crazy. So it goes without saying, by the way, I just wanted to do a real quick recap of his six years tenure because he did have some, okay, moves like he drafted Igi, which was a good good one. He trade the matumbo trade when Theo Ratliffe was hurt in the 2001 season.
He was never going to be able to play for the sixers. They traded him for matumbo. They make a run to the finals. That was a good move. My dad still complains about the 1998 draft when they passed on Dirk and Pierce for Larry Hughes in the 1998 draft. They gave Matt Geiger one of the worst contracts in the NBA and also in fairness to Billy King. He was running the team with someone else at the time. It wasn't all him. He traded for Washtair Coleman, Washtlann Robinson, Washt Chris Reber and Washtermall Massburn who never played a single game for the sixers during this time period. He seemed to be addicted to trading for Washt players. Billy King is absolutely going in the Woat tier. I mean, he is. I'm too. I'm too. I'm too. Also, real quick. Bobby Marks also part of this front office. That's one of the things that he's in there. And he's in the compiless to this. And then ownership for letting it happen in the first place. He intimously said on a pot and he said it's so nonchalantly. Well, a lot of we actually thought DeMarcus Cousins was better than Dirk favors, but we
believe Dirk favors would have more trade value. So that's why we selected Jared favors. Genius. When you're drafting three of the draft, you're like, we got to maximize the trade value in this guy. They were coming up. It's a pretty lost season. Well, I'll get. So can I can I say something not to do far be it for me to defend Bobby Marks, but I do want to point out though that there is a there is a component to this. I'm not I'm not defending Billy King. He absolutely belongs in the Woat tier. They they were in the middle of doing Robert Moses style land theft like in downtown Brooklyn and needed to have a team that just like hypothetically fill the building. So I do the pump and dump the team they exact as exactly. So I think that I do think that there was an insane mandate to just summon a team that could contend like out of nowhere essentially like all of the all most all of this is going to come back to bad ownership. But I also I also found another bad trade at it towards his very end of his tenure in
the 2015 offseason. That's his last offseason. He traded Mason Plumlin who was on his rookie deal and still good. Like I know it's kind of a me like last of like 30 years traded him and Pat Conninson pick for Rodney house Jefferson who was out of the NBA. I forgot about that. Yeah. So they traded two 10 year NBA rotation players for a guy who was out of the NBA in like four years. They they love to just burn. It's amazing to go to the that time period on his basketball reference page and realize that he lost every single trade. Like there isn't a single trade you can find high and sell low. Like people like people are hearing that trade. I don't think people understand that like at that point like Mason Plumlin was like pretty good. Like a good player. Yeah. Like he like I remember that deal and going like what the fuck are they doing? That's so bad. Like and I was like kind of a rendez-hull as Jefferson. Yeah. Plumlin was the was the starting center for the Blazer started all 82 games that year and
they made the playoffs. Yeah. He was a good player. He was a bad starting center. Yeah. Yeah. Like a like a like the 26th best center in the NBA. He was like eaves missy or someone that like I think would be like a good comp for today or something like that. Like real real quick. I want to read through the the tears here that we're going to do. We have at the top. We have vote. Worst of all time. We have one hit wonders. Just normal bad. Not as bad as you think and then context dependent for the last one. But can I just say you didn't put Brad Stevens on here? Nice. For the vote here. I see we're rad and good after. I saw a sixers fan comment and say Brian Kalangelo didn't make the list. I don't think Brian Kalangelo was with the team and didn't really. Now he made bad moves with the team but I most of the guys I'm picking here were either just like they were the worst during this time period or they made moves that destroyed the franchise basically.
Like Brian Kalangelo obviously burned through a lot of hinky shit that he build up but he didn't make like just like an objectively terrible move outside of the Markovoltz thing which I think there's a little bit of hindsight bias with that. So anyway, I would trivia. Billy King in his last offseason as next GM made signed one multi year contract. It was in the player option of the second year and it was in 2015 and the only thing I will give you is he was the first pick in the draft. Oh was it Anthony Bennett? No, no that was later. Oh I was later okay, fuck. Well, why my brand would have been way too old. Was it Andrea Barne, I don't remember. I'm playing a partner. I'm track with a player option after he was like going to give us the NBA on the next and everyone hated him. He got waived in the first year and you'll never believe this. He picked up the player option even though he was waived. So he was on the books.
He played 46 games for the nets and average six and three. That was Billy King's last multi year contract. This might be Italian racism but I've always thought that Andrea Barne, he kind of looks like Mike the situation. A little bit like. Also, I said to Billy King like six months ago on Twitter that Boston wants to build a statue of him and he blocked me in like two seconds. We love it a terminally online man in his sixties. Okay, real quick. Speaking of terminally online man in their sixties, Sam, is there anyone that you want to pick for the next one here? No, there anyone that really stands out in your mind? Because we let stands out in my mind. We did let we let will cook here. You know what? Let's just let's just let's keep going in order.
There's so many. All of these guys are near and dear to my heart. I think we'll probably go David Khan would be the next suggestion I would make. I could vote. I think the older ones are funnier because it's like less fresh on people's minds. Yeah. Well, also, I will say by the time David Khan came around, there wasn't quite as many. There's only one. There are only two GMs in this whole list that just got crazy long 10 years with their team where it's just like how did this even fucking happen? Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean, Mark, Sean, Mark's is not on here actually, but I, I mean, you can make the case later if you want. All right, David Khan, pretty simple, very short period of time, 128.5% of his games with the wolves in four years made basically no good moves the entire time he was with the team pass on Steph Curry for two point guards in, I was going to say Marco Rubio Ricky Rubio. I'm going to be a little Marco. Flirty, Flarni. Took a little Marco, little Marco.
Rubio. It's a pass. Is that a good story? And Johnny, so we took Johnny Flynn, Ricky Rubio over Steph. So two point guards drafted in the top six of the draft over the seventh pick, Steph Curry goes on to be one of the greatest players of all time. Also drafted Wesley Johnson at four in 2010, Derek Williams at two in 2011. So those were his drafts. Honestly, his best move was someone that we'll talk about later that's on this list, which was trading Randy Foy and Mike Miller, who both had a year left on their contract for the fifth pick in the draft from the Washington Wizards. Unfortunately, he decided to completely with and not take Steph Curry with that pick. So I would say, I mean, once again, small window, not a ton of of leash here from the wolves, but completely set the team back for, I mean, they didn't, they didn't make the playoffs
again until 2018, 2019. Yeah. Yeah. What I want to say about Khan that I like remember, like, because here's the thing, the thing about Billy King is even though even if smart people were like, what is happening? This is a disaster. There were people in the moment who were being like, well, Derek Williams, like, Joe Johnson, you know, there's like a thing here, like, you know, like there were some people on the other side of like, well, let's, let's see how this goes for Billy King. Well, well, the world will was like, we're going to win the championship. Yeah. Who's going to say, we got the most clutch players in the NBA, LeBronzeleuser, you know? Yeah. Yeah. So there were people who said, maybe it's because I'm a bill listener and maybe I was like, do you just read it with the bill? No, no, but there were no David Khan. No, no, no, no, Khan heads.
There's a wait until succession for the Khan heads. The Khan, the Khan was out. There was, there was no Khan anywhere to be found. Bill was on this early about him being like one of the, the true votes of the, of the, of this timeframe. But just the fact, like Johnny Flynn, like the Ricky Rubio thing would be like, it's own thing. And it would be like, by the way, if it was just Ricky Rubio, I think no one would give him as much shit. No one would give him as much shit. And then if like even the fun that next time, well, even if in that next pick, he took like a different position. You know what I'm saying? Like if you took like, um, DeMar de Rosa, you write, yeah, or something like that. Like, uh, even that, I don't, I don't think it's as bad. It's the fact that you took two point guards, the four point guards, the four point guards before literally the greatest small point guard. Also the science because it's also, I think, you know, another layer of awfulness to
it is that kind of part of what unlocked staff was realizing he should play it alongside another point guard. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Someone who has function on playmaking skills. So I can't even add like they would have, they would have been ahead of their time. Yeah. I was going to say Rubio didn't play immediately and Steph had the ankle injuries early. Who knows? The one way that I always copes through things like the way that I coped through the McEl bridges trade on draft night for the Sixers is that I'm like, well, they would have just traded him for Tobias Harris and fucked it up anyway. That's how I cope. Wolves fans probably could cope their way through like even if we drafted Steph. This front office probably would have given up on him after it and they would have bought themselves some time because they drafted fucking Steph Curry and even early in his career he showed so many flashes that they are very good. Yeah. And that might have bought themselves a little bit more time with ownership and they could have done what the Warriors almost did and traded the wrong guy and luckily for the Warriors
they traded the right guy. Can I do one of one of the sneaky funnier contransactions that I think it was 2011. Let me just look this up. It was 2010 draft night. It was his first night, I think. Errr. No, I think it was 2009 because he draft, you know, because it would have been. Rubio Flynn draft of 2009. Oh yeah, you're correct. Yeah, so it's 2010 I think. He trades, he trades a 2011 second round draft pick. He trades two second round draft picks for Michael Beasley to like help the bite the heat. Yeah, the thing he's that. So, which seems broad and Bosch. That's a trade where it's like it kind of makes sense like I would have liked it. Yeah, I would have liked it. The straight like the thing because it's like the second overall pick like it makes sense by these guys. The first time. Right. Yeah, it means that one of the second draft picks was Bollyah and Bognodromat. Which is like very. I did that.
I was just like who cares? I don't, but it's just funny that that's like no one's like ever going to put that out there. But even like the like that's like a coin flip. The strategy I would have made and it's still like with. Yeah, so that's the difference between bad bad moves now and bad new bad moves 15, 20 years ago. It's like we still get trades like that. We're like, oh, they traded this future pick. And then by some crazy odds and ended up being this this future all start. Most of the time when you go through it, you're like, oh, whereas in the 2000s, nothing Randy Foy and Mike Miller get traded for the fifth pick in the track. And you're like, like, one, one, one, five, the most. I remember saying when the nets had, I remember bringing up that trade when the nets had DFS and Roy Soniel. I was like, what if we get this package? And I just got to go to a top five pick. That's what the equipment would be and I think they got. I think they got instead of the fifth pick. They got five second round picks. Right. Exactly. Teams are just not doing that anymore. Trading trading, trading Corey Brewer and Costa Cufo's for Eddie Curry and Anthony Randolph
is pretty. I think Eddie Curry is part of a hilarious Isaiah. Oh, I will be bringing up Mr. Isaiah Thomas to the conversation right now. He's going in the vote here. And by the way, the funniest thing about going through Isaiah, because I also have Steve Mills slash Phil Jackson on here. I think Nick's fans kind of were like, did they draft poorly? Yes. They didn't do anything that set the franchise back and they got bailed out by the next front office a little bit. I'll talk about that in a little bit. Isaiah Thomas was doing bat shit in saying shit during this time period when he ran the team. He had a power trip, like just out of his fucking mind moves. And I honestly forgot how bad it was until I went back and looked at it. Traded two first round picks for Eddie Curry and gave him a massive contract. Who was the status me like the fattest NBA player I've ever seen. And he was only he was already what seven years into his career. Like he was very obviously not going to become better on another team.
And I just want to tell you, do you know who those two picks became? One of them is I think maybe it's it's the bulls, right? So is it is Joe Kim Noah one of them? Joe Kim Noah is one of the picks. And the other pick also became a player who made an all-star team. Jimmy Butler. Gordon Hayward on the jazz. So they traded away two top 10 picks. Years out to give Eddie Curry a massive contract. Let's get when I talk about how reckless GM's used to be. This is what I'm talking about where it's just like give up to first round picks for Eddie Curry. Don't think about the consequences. Give him a massive contract. Oh, no, I'm sorry. Sorry, I fuck that up. It was actually Lamarcus Aldridge. Even worse. Yeah, okay. Hold on. Because they traded him for Tyrus Thomas to the to the Blazers. There's another trade where they traded for washed a step on Marbury. And one of the picks he traded became Gordon Hayward.
So they traded an all-star, one time all-star, a multi-time all-star, and a defensive player of the year for Eddie Curry and Stefan Marbury. You know Eddie Curry has a ring. What team is he on? I'm 14 games for the 2012 Miami Heat. I did not remember that. I should have known that we went through their roster recently. I completely. He played 73 total minutes. But you did play for that. So that's coming from the Raptors. I was think that's really fucked up. It was like they're starting setter for months. He didn't get one? No, he didn't get a ring. Which I think is crazy. Because the Warriors of the opposite. The Warriors give rings to guys who play like one game. Yeah, I was gonna say Pat McCall has multiple rings, probably from them. All right. By the way, after he traded for Marbury, then he traded for Washtee Francis. So he's in both Steve Francis and Stefan Marbury on the team.
Then he gave out horrible contracts. He gave out the full MLE to Jerome James, which would be probably close to $20 million in today's money. Jared Jeffery's he gave out that horrible contract. Five-year deal. I remember watching him. Because when I was a kid, he was pretty good on defense. But like he popped. I love them in college. I was like, this is the worst player I've ever seen. He couldn't do anything. Isn't there a really funny Antonio McDice trade in there with the Nix? By the way, he got $5 million, $30 million in 2006. So that would be equivalent to, yeah, probably like $20 million nowadays. Probably over $20 million. What were you saying? Well, is there a really funny Nix trade with the Antonio McDice? Is there any one of those? Yes. I don't think it was I'd say a Thomas. Jeffery's contract would be $19 million a year in today's cap dollars. That's pretty nice. And he was a five-year deal to an MLE guy.
I know. No, it was, sorry, Will, the one you were thinking of, it wasn't I'd say a Thomas trade. It was the Gordon Hayward. It was the another piece of the Gordon Hayward. Yeah. They traded. And then they traded. They traded. Marcus Campey was really fucking good. Yeah. I think Mark Jackson was pretty washed at this point. And then the seventh overall pick, which was Nene. And Antonio McDice played 18 games as a Nick. So like that was must have been the previous front office. Yeah, it's doesn't too. So maybe it's, oh, yeah, I was going to say because they, they dump him in that Gordon Hayward Stefan Marbury trade. So they traded like, because was the Marcus Campey like, didn't he like make it all defense team? Like he was good. Yeah, no, he made all the defense teams. And the seventh overall pick for a guy who, yeah, he didn't make all defense teams on the next. I think he came back as an old man. As a super wash guy, yeah, yeah, that, yeah, like seven, four year olds on that team, that one. Yeah, he wanted to fence a player of the year with the, yeah, on Denver, he made, he was
all defense guy four times. And then a who was like a good starter for them. We're going to play 18 totaling. Sorry, but that's before him. So that's my bad. I'm sure we'll get to the wizards front offices at some point, but then we're not even done with Isaiah Thomas right now because we have, he fired the coach. It took over coach. And he took over, yeah, in 2006, and it was a disaster. Everyone fucking hated each other. There was constant locker room problems. And then famously fired for sexual harassment allegations and the team got in a bunch of trouble in 2009. And the only fucking saving grace from his whole tenure was that he actually was pretty good at the draft. Yeah, no, they got like a reason and Zibo, right? Second round they got a reason. They drafted Channing Fry when there was not a lot of good players left on the board. We just did a rewatch of that draft on the Patreon the other night. That was a very good pick considering who was on the board. And then he got David Lee with the 30th pick in that same draft.
You heard it here, folks. He's still is defending the honor of Isaiah Thomas. That's correct. Yeah, he's certainly needed on and off the board. Legitimately, he set the mix back for, I mean, really until like probably a decade. No, yeah, I agree. That was what you're saying for like the guys after them, like they kind of just made the wrong draft picks, which is like bad. But it's different than training the two top 10 picks for a shitty starting better. And they inherited such a bad roster because of all of his moves that like I think it's because it's the nicks and the expectations are just so high and everything's under a microscope. But like, yeah, they just Steve Mills drafted Phil Jackson and Steve Mills drafted poor Zingus in 2015, which is obviously a good pick. Frankie smokes was a bad pick. And the poor Zingus also the poor Zingus trade was a bad return. Like I know that it didn't work out for the Mavericks, but considering the hype around poor Zingus and I know the bad. I thought that was a horrible trade at the time.
They, they, he reacted to it like the haliburn trade. Yeah, it was crazy. I remember me like, I didn't understand it. They got Dennis Smith Jr. They got, it was, I mean, the return was first. I just kind of assumed there was like another shoe was going to drop with the rape case that was going on at the time because the return was so shocking. Like, yeah, yeah. It was just the one you're on there. I think money for Durant, they dumped two terrible contacts. Uh, part of way and, uh, and they got Deandre Jordan in that trade. That's the funniest part. Like obviously it worked out perfectly for them because like the net's are in piss and shit and the nicks are, but that was the next front office. That's what they, uh, but they benched Deandre Jordan. And then you have a Jordan like pulled the rant and Irving like, this shit sucks guys. Like don't call me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, so, you know, if, if the next front office doesn't salvage this thing and build this current nicks team, that looks way worse because even, you know, in most universes getting
Kevin Durant and Kyrie is way better than whatever the alternative was. They just happened to have this kind of last few years where they put together this great team. So, uh, real, real quick. Let's just Steve Mills. I'm, he drafted Mitchell Robinson in the second round, which was a good move. Signed Markis Morris, who they flipped for value. That was a good move. Uh, they, they drafted RJ at third. He was the consensus third pick. They probably everybody would have drafted in there. Like I didn't like RJ. But draft, but like no one was taking Daria Scarland. And everyone was putting it away. So, I didn't like Daria Scarland was like a walking red flag. Like there was so much strong. Like four games or whatever. Yeah. Twelve. I think he played. Yeah. Uh, but the, the thing that I want to say real quick here, just about this, the next front office made the, the, the, the Steve Mills Phil Jackson front office look a lot better because basically what happened was they ended up salvaging all of the whiffs that they
did outside of like the really big draft bus that they took. Um, and ultimately it didn't end up hurting them that bad because they were able to salvage that. And I would put Steve Mills in like when you compare it to Isaiah Thomas, it's fucking nothing. Like, I think, I think just normal bad or not as bad as you think for, for Steve Mills. Yeah, I would say not as bad as you think. I would agree with you. Really just the Frank, the, the, I think the Frank and not picks is like 80% of the like, because those are both very strong. The not pick is just. And it's all like out of the NBA before the routine deals over. Yeah. Cause like, like, Colin Sexton's not a good pick in that good draft, but like, you know, he scored like 24 points a game for them one year. Like, like he's still. He's like a six man on a playoff team now. Like, both of them, one of the knocks, knocks for reasons I still didn't understand stayed in the NBA for like seven years. But the worst four of an NBA history, his rookie year, his negative two fourth. It's like the worst four for the last 25 years.
Can I, can I do something controversial? I know I'm the one who said this. I think I, I think I want to absolve David Khan a little bit and move him down to one hit wonder. And say going through Isaiah Thomas and Billy King since, yeah, I don't think he feels not nearly as bad as those. He doesn't. He didn't draft a single NBA player and they had top five picks. They had four top five picks. He didn't get. Oh, right. No, no, yeah. Cause who they taken 20, where's Lee Johnson was the best player they drafted in the top was. Was a rookie. But I think I completely disagree. I think if you know, I know, I put that person in your games and you have no good draft picks and you pass on Steph Curry, that's to me. That's also Johnson fourth pick. Fifth pick to Marcus. No, yeah, he blogs there. Cause then he could be the only thing he did was bad things. He didn't do anything good. He also wasn't there. Just like a franchise that was like less of like less media attention. So like maybe in our yeah.
So I think I think cons all time bad. I really do. Yeah. That's fair. I think the Steph Curry thing is just the really bad part. Cause I do think like you can't completely whiff on the fourth pick and second pick back to back drafts after passing on Steph Curry. The Derek Williams pick was not a Derek Williams pick like everyone. It's very similar to the RG Barrett thing where everyone is so much worse than RG. He is worse than RG. I'm not saying that I'm saying I was there for that draft. It was a very similar thing where it was like everyone sought the draft sucked outside of Kyrie. Yeah. Well, it is a really it's such a weird draft because it's a great top. It's a very bad top 10 but a great draft. Everyone was taking Derek Williams second in that draft. Like I'm taking Kebba. I would have taken Kebba Walker and he would have looked like the worst player in the NBA and I would have gotten fired. And then he turned out to be pretty good. All right. Well, I'm putting on record like David Conn is obviously bad. I just think like hearing Isaiah, everything Isaiah Thomas did laid out and Billy King is
obviously a lot more they were a lot more reckless. I just think that if you do literally nothing good. Yeah. Sam is just and you do all bad things. I think it's I'll move him down one and say he's not quite the worst of all times. Because he's not as half the traded two top five picks for mid starter. Yeah. Like he just missed on every but you can't you can't have four top six picks and go over four. Thank you. You really went like 0.5 for four if you can. Well, then let's let's get a King's GM up here then. Okay. So. So. I can't believe where's bloody. Where's bloody? I wrote I had. I genuinely went went through Vladies thing and I thought it was going to be so much worse because they're so bad. They never pick they always picked like ninth when there's not that many good players on the board. They never pick they skipped Luca.
Yeah, but it's just that one. It's just that one. That's what we just did this with come on though. Yeah, but he missed he they had four top six picks. They had two picks and they pass on step twice. I don't let let's do it. Let's get bloody up here. Let's go let's go through it and let's okay. Worse move passed on Luca for Marvin Bagley. Trade it a first in a swap and that's crazy. I'm sorry. That's crazy. Like, obviously, yeah, trade it a first in a swap to clear cap space for Rondo, which did not work out and it could have been so much worse, but they did not. They don't build out. Yeah, they signed 30 his last move was signing 36 year old Zach Randolph who they had the salary. And he actually salvaged up by getting Harrison Barnes for him. And I didn't know another wash like I maybe George Hill. They sound like another wash guy in addition to Zach Randolph. Yeah, they said they salary dumped him to the cabs and that LeBron team if I remember correctly. So he made one good pick in five drafts really, which was the deer and Fox pick and
also traded for Bogdan Bogdanovich, which was actually pretty good, but with on the other picks in that draft when they traded for Marquis, Marquis. So pick the became Marquis Chris, but they completely whiffed on the two picks that they took in that. I don't know. One of his years as the G as in charge, 2015 to 20. It was 24. It was 2014 to 2019. Technically, I think. Now, March 3, 2015, I think was his first, his first transaction he made was signing days. It's not him. What's that? What? You know, the Stauskis video and they picked Nick Stauskis. Yeah, that was important. He didn't pick Stauskis, but he did put Stauskis in the Carl Landry Jason Thompson trade. This is what we were just saying. That could have been so much worse for them and it didn't turn out to burn them in the way that we thought it was going to. Yeah. Well, they also, they also technically traded Jason Tatum in that trade. No, they didn't. Yes, they did because it was the King's swap. It was a Kings and Sixers swap.
The deer and Fox. Yeah, yeah. It's technically sure, but the Sixers made another trade and also the Kingswrap 5 instead of 3. Yeah, the Kingswrap 5, he got deer and Fox, who was a good pick. So he had four picks. Sixth, a, oh, wait, no, they traded the Marquis Chris, Chris pick on draft night. But they, but they whiffed on both of those picks after they took copy, honest, which was one of the most baffling like ones of all time scallop, but they got Bob, they got Bogdon before he played the game in the NBA and he was, Bogdon was the best player in that trick. Okay. But they still use 14th pick on a guy nobody knew like that doesn't happen in 2016. But that's not bad. I'm not saying that that trade is worse for the sons than it is for the Kings. Why? It's bad process. Decent or so. I think this is clearly not as bad as the top three guys. I, I, I, I will say this. No, I do. This is crazy.
Wait, what are you saying? I also really call this time. He, he, he, you have to really call this that. By the way, we talk about that. Yeah, the 2015 drafts so bad. It's such a bad draft. Is it? Like who comes after you? Miles Turner would probably be the best player taking that out of the game. Yeah, like, right after the end of the lottery. He's the next three picks. Emmanuel Moodie, Stanley Johnson, Frank Kaminsky. It was such a bad draft. Yeah. I'm not saying Willie Coleson was a good pick. I'm just saying that I remember at the draft. They were saying like on ESPN, like, yeah, he's a horrible offensive player. Like he has to win defensive player of the year, just to fight this big. Yeah, that's what I remember Bill is saying that. No, I do think the top three guys are worse than Vladi, but also Vladi. I wonder how much Vladi gets tied to. Vivac, because Vivac really is like, like, I have money McNair on here, and I'm like, just because of the subonus, Albertan thing.
But like, how much say does the GM of the Sacramento Kings have? I'm going to have to refuse that because the Luka Donge thing is 110% bloody. That was on him. Yeah. And that's the sit here. That's almost like it's not as bad as the Steph Curry thing. It's very close. It's very close to being that bad. That's an insane thing to take Marvin Bagley over. Like, we're not hitting that hard enough. Ricky Rubio at least was supposed to be kind of a good player. Marvin Bagley was James Watt. But like, it was so bad. That was my first year as like a pervert NBA fan. I was like, do cats play zone because you're so bad on defense. This guy's terrible. I don't know. I was thinking you wanted to say, I love Wendell and hated Bagley. If you want to give him one hit wonder, fine. But like, this is just the disaster. If you want him to come here, and just normal bad are almost, like, should be kind of,
I don't know. Because I assume one hit wonder is going to be like, for Niko and maybe McNair. Yeah. That's what I was saying. Other than the pull up, like, Niko traded him when he was fat. Like, at least Niko saw him drinking beer. Vlade was just like, your dad was mean to me. They made the NBA finals the year before. I get it. And he was part of that. He built that team. Niko did. Vlade never did anything like that. Vlade is, this is crazy. Anyway, he's one of the worst GMs of all time. This is the best. All right. I'll put him in there. I'm not going to work for the worst of all time. We're not moving, we're not moving David Compton there because that was just an absurd argument back. All right. Next up, you know, someone that I think goes under discussed is Ernie Grunfeld. Ernie Grunfeld. I like this point. That's a good point. Ray, Ray and the Wizards for 16 years. Yeah, that's what I remember. It's somehow state that is the guy for so long.
Never made a conference finals. One four playoff series in 16 years gave out that gave out like many horrible contracts during his time. He traded the fifth overall pick as we said in 2009 for one year of Mike Miller and Randy Foey. Two picks before Steph Curry was taken. He also, so they never made a conference finals. So high. What's that? I mean, that was bad. That was bad. He was like, and he was like the same. I will say he kind of salvaged the middle of his tenure by getting John Walbredley-Biel and Otto Porter Jr. In a weaker draft, Otto Porter Jr. That little run there was fine, but it's just couched with mediocrity and terribleness. And he ran the team for this will never happen again is what I'm trying to. Yeah. I mean, when you give a guy that many top three picks, like he's going to eventually. He's going to hit on them exactly. And so like people will always bring up garpacks for the bulls and I'm like, they were pretty
good at drafting. And on top of that, they made the conference finals. Like they had real things that you could tangible things during their time period running the team that you could like grab onto. Now they made bad decisions with the Jimmy Butler thing and obviously they got kind of unlucky with the Derek Rose thing. And there are factors at play there. But like Ernie Grenfeld was just mid to terrible for 16 years and held down that job. I think the foy miller trade is like so underdiscust. I know I brought it up twice now. Bill talks about it all. Bill used to talk about it all. It's the most psycho. Like were either of them starters the year before? I think Randy Foey was. Look at that. It's so insane. Like neither of them is a top 100 player. And you traded them for Randy Foey. Randy Foey started 60 games the year before. But he only put one year with Washington. He traded a top five pick for like two useful like the hornets in the bridges trade.
They got back. Grace now. The first two French charters. Imagine like racing. Grace now is like, oh yeah, like two useful guys. You know, like probably want to come out here bench like if they're fit starter. It's got a top five pick for that. Unbelievable. And it turned out to be one of the greatest drafts of all time by the way. I think I, I, I, what did you salary down to Trevor or Risa? But I'm trying to remember if you was watching. I'm in the Okafor. No, a reason had like. A ton more years. I was gonna say he, I think it was still good. Because I was a, and this 2014 if I remember. Yeah. There was 2018. He was a star. He five when. Yeah. Yeah. That's an underrated one because that was literally just for a trade exception if I remember. And I think he gave Andre Blatch a really funny contract. I remember correctly. I will say he did. He did. He caught out. That's when he signed with. He did. I think they amnesty that Andre Blatch contract. I remember. Which is very funny. Because they, I think while they amnesty the Andre Blatch deal, I think they still had the Richard Lewis and the.
The good or the Reenus contracts were still on the books. Well, they traded those for each other. But yeah, yeah, yeah. Did they? They charted. I literally just talked about it last week on the podcast. Richard Lewis and Gilbert are in his got traded for each other on bad contracts. Oh, that's right. Okay. Yeah. The matchup and Wizards too. But he gave Gilbert are in his contract. He gave the goes here. But I will say that he did draft Andre Blatch like at the end of the second round. Who wasn't a B.A. player. So he was so cool as a kid. I was like, this guy is Moses. Yeah, it was very funny. So bad. If you go back and like look at his, look at his sheets as the calculator, I'd say, like horrific player. This is so, I did the bed at the end, right? Yeah, no. He was on the second unit and I was like, this guy's a bucket. Because he just, like a guard. But he was like a seventh footer and out of shape. Yeah. And he was so cool. He just would like, like behind the back off the dribble long twos as your center. It was so funny. Oh, okay. No, I remember the, I know the contract I want to talk about for this.
He gave Andrew Nicholson the funniest contract. Yeah. That was the end. And you guys always, you guys, he ended up on the nets. Yeah. I had a salary done for Alan Crab. No, right. Because you always say, well, the nets paid Alan Crab. But then they, they ended up getting him anyway. But they got off the Andrew Nicholson contract when they, so like they were originally signing him for free. Then a year later, they got to dump that ridiculous contract. Yeah. I was going to say, I put Grunfeld in just normal bad. It's just kind of shocked me how long he ran the team. Like there will never be another, he's like a GM bad getter for getting that many contract extensions. And I ever having a good, like a really good team. So since in the, when they got the, when they traded boy on by Donovan, she's the wizard at the Jardinow pick that's taken the Nicholson contract. So I do. Yeah. I think he was at his worst was kind of like in the middle.
Because he, I think he traded a still kind of good Marcee and Gortat for Austin Rivers at one point. I believe which is very funny. Gortat was out of the league pretty quickly after that. Yeah. He had been good pretty recently though, because he was like a year after they, he was like playing okay in like the conference finals. He was like 2017, 2018, if I remember. Yeah, something like that. The other really funny thing, the other awesome thing he did, there's the same time as the engine Nicholson contract. I just remember him like losing his mind and giving everyone like really bad contracts right when like John Wall and Bradley feel were good. And the other one was the auto quarter contract was so fun. Yeah, that one came back. I was also. Yeah. Yeah. It's so fun. I think it was like 25 million a year. It's like wow, franchise, crippling. And it was like I was at the time of genuinely. Yeah. By the way, I keep saying, I keep saying, oh, we'll never see someone this bad again. And then I'm realizing we haven't even like that we'll have a job this long.
I didn't even put Sean Marks on here, but like he's been with the team for what nine years. Well, no, Obama was still president February 2016. So he's been with the team 10 over 10 years. Yeah. And he's kind of in the Grumpel territory of like they've never had a great team. What if like the wall they did? No, but what if they never had a sustainably great team? That's usually what you need to get contract. Yeah, yeah. The longest 10 year ones, it's like the it's like Ryan. Press the first guys, press the marks and then the Pacers guy is the top five. And it's like, it's like, it's never bad and went to the NBA finals and then minutes. On my sister's 17th birthday, Ernie Grunfeld signed four players, Lester Hudson, Marty Collins, Adam Morrison and Sean Marks. His last contract at the NBA.
Mark was kind of a hasloam. Like, he got like a 10 year career. It's being a good guy. Mainly just because the spurs like them. The only the only moment you can find of him like in a video easily is, you know, the famous video where Shaq's about to crash into the bench and his teammates all run the fuck out of the way. One of those guys, Sean Marks. So that's that's his legacy right there. Yeah. It's always funny looking back at the old rosters and seeing coaches like I remember looking back at an old blazers roster. Yeah, I was doing this. It said signed Emeh Doka like multiple times. Yeah, yeah, I was boiling what I was going to say. Oh, sorry. He made Doka was literally the guy I was going to bring up. But all right. So two. So all right. Up next. Do we want to go with a legacy pull? Do we want to get a stepie and up here? Yes. So he was an owner. This is the legacy pull. I do not know that the rule was named after his name. I thought it was just like a step function.
I don't know. Ted said. Yeah. Until until I became like a he like basically like join me. You know, well, this Gordon became a terminally online NBA, not person. He's been dead for almost 20 years. So we can be we can be nice to this millionaire. So basically, if you don't know just just a history shout here, traded so many first round picks in a row that set back the Cavaliers for so long that they decided to make a rule. And as we have joked before, we think that Mattish, we might get a rule for the swaps on swaps in the next CBA because he's gone way too far. I really thought it should be a bite chill out after they have this like surprise and we fun year. He was like, nope, give me miles of bridges. Unprotected 2033. No, he's turning up even harder. Phoenix will be uninhabitable by the, you know, it's going to be a hundred degrees. The Zach Lowe and theory. Okay. So I just a quick shout needed step stepie and doesn't need anything else to be said about him. He should have so bad. He changed the rules and named the rule after him.
Incredible. That's a legacy right there. Um, Elgin Baylor is another one who I don't know with Elgin Baylor whether he should fully get the blame because I know Bill used to love to rag on him. I mean, he did have some truly horrendous moves. Speaking of the clippers, we didn't have Lawrence Frank, anyone anywhere on here. He was technically with the team until 2009, Elgin Baylor. He was with, he had three winning seasons in 22 years as an executive. They were all three who you could get some ownership grace too, I think. That's what I'm saying is that Donald Sterling was running the team and was cheap as shit and might have just not wanted to hire a new guy because it meant paying more money. So I think that he literally kept Elgin Baylor around as a punching bag. Eventually Mike Dunleavy took over and they got a little bit better and then they got much better after that. Uh, but I do think that we, we deserve some context for Elgin Baylor here at a minimum.
But is this the only executive of the year on this list? Who was the executive of the, Elgin Baylor was executive of the year 2006. The clippers made a sense. What 42 games because they want to go. That that's how low the bar was for the clippers. 47 games and you can make win one playoff series and you're the executive of the year because the clippers. Sam, they were, they were having three winning seasons in 22 years, Andre. Yeah, and that's like his 16th season. That's what's so funny about that. It's like usually like that like that. Air scam that executive of the year because that was like he got there and they immediately went from bad to three seed. Like, that's over a decade. That's one of the Vivek things though. You know what I'm saying where it's like this is what I'm saying. It's like, how can we separate the owners from McNair and and Vloddy and Elgin Baylor and Sterling? Like, it feels almost impossible to divorce those two because they were so cheap and they were just always meddling.
Yeah, and they were also like so, I mean, obviously don't sterling got the team taken away from him for being racist, which is kind of like, you know, that that hasn't happened very. It probably should have happened more often than it did, but that hasn't happened very often in the, in the NBA. Yeah. He got the, he got the team taken him away for being racism was one of the, this is how racist owners used to be in the NBA. He was one of the only owners that hired a black general manager and Elgin Baylor literally said this when he when Sterling was forcibly had the team taken away from him, Elgin Baylor went on the record and was like they wouldn't hire former players and black GMs. No. And he and Donald Sterling hired him. Drill, I just found an NBC Los Angeles article from 2009 titled, Baylor Seuss Clippers for being bad GM. And he what? He sued on, he say he put up with, with, he put up with poor working conditions and was discriminated against
and sued both Donald Sterling and the NBA in 2009. And then the guy, the guy she told, he should have been fired 20 years ago. Who does he think he is doing that he fairly does. He's following on fire. He was stealing from them for years. He's a baseball writer. Okay, speaking of what we've done this with John Cali Perry, we also, I do have to quickly shout out Donald Sterling for being one of our only Trump analogs. Before Trump was famous. I would love to be a Trump famous. He just not as famous. Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. So you're just getting fired after 22 years is. That kind of awesome to be totally honest. Okay. His worst move. His worst move was not. Okay. I think the Michael Lula McCandy pick is actually the worst number one pick of all time. Yeah, because like Bennett, there's not really a choice. Bennett, Bennett, like, who are you passing on? Like, like, old Depot, who was fine.
Yeah, like, once again, it's a bad pick and we'll talk about Chris Grant, who made that pick at some point here. But I just look at this. Like, old McCandy was 24 years old as a rookie. That's so crazy. I think that's first over all hit. Overall. But, but but. But yaxle was better than Michael McCandy. And he went to Michigan. Michael McCandy went to Pacific. Was unknown. Was unknown. And then in the top 10 of that draft, Vince Carter gets taken. Dirk gets taken, Paul Pierce gets taken, and even like Antoine Jameson, I think I don't know Marcus can't be with a different draft. There were a lot of really good players on the board in the 98 draft. And that by the way, I don't even know if that's his worst move. It probably is, but he traded Antonio McDice on draft night for Brent Berry and Rodney Rogers, which Brent Berry had a good career.
He was a good player. He only played for the Clippers for two and a half years though. And he two picks before he made that pick, two picks before Rashid Wallace, which, look, she bounced around, but he was a really good player. And three picks before Kevin Garnet in that draft to trade that for Brent Berry and Rodney Rogers is just a disaster. I mean, Elgin Baylor, to me, Elgin Baylor is all time bad, but I do think it's almost like context that I almost want to put him in the context department because the sterling piece and the fact that like the Clippers were just a fucking mess because of him. So I have to share a stat about Michael. I can't even say his last name. Oluw candy. Yes, right. So the second through fifth picks in that draft all had at least 40 career win shares. Michael Oluw candy had 2.4 career win shares. And he played like 10 years of the NBA. It's only like out of the years. Yeah, he was on the Celtics tanking team before like a year before they got here.
I was going to say, it's not like Oluw candy was like out of the league like Anthony Beton. And the Celtics, the hoisted, the Larry Sam was like, Oluw candy should have been here, man. He was why we have to sacrifice him to win this championship. I didn't feel that way, but I didn't think Michael Peters should have been there. I did think we should have gotten P his thing at some point. We got to get rolling through some of these GMs here. And we want to put Nico in one hit wonder. You guys have done a slap on him. Yeah, like it was doing great until he wasn't. And I was doing great. I think I like something that he really likes. I kind of was sort of a fan of the idea of trading Luca, but it's like trading him to the rockets for Amen, read every day on like that. Like not fucking Anthony Davis. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. So, all right. Do we do Chris? Well, I was going to say, do we do Garpacks with I think he dovetails nicely with Ernie Grenfeld. I don't have Garpacks up here. Oh, yeah. Who's the Bulls GM you have there? That's corn service. Oh, okay. Never mind. If you want to make the Garpacks argument, I'm all years. I don't think that they deserve to be in this conversation. I think they're like Grenfeld where it's just a bunch of things, but then also it's Ryan's Dwarfs fault. You know what I'm saying? Like, if Grenfeld drafted an MVP, I know we used the first pick, so it's hard to give too much credit. Also had a team that won 60 games, made a conference finals, had a lot of bad injury luck. Like Garpacks built a really good team. They did. I think the thing that they did that was very different was they hired Tom Tibido and the fire. You also did it. Yeah. And they also did it under Ryan's Dwarf, which is, Grenfeld doesn't have that same excuse.
I just think that Chicago is under the microscope more because post-jewelden, they've been kind of up and down. And I think they held on for too long. Dude, their drafts are good though. Like, yeah. Lowry marketing. Uh, fucking Jimmy Butler. No, just joking. Jochem Noah. Well, bang. The whole like really bad pick is Patrick Williams, which is a dead cell valentine wasn't great, but Patrick, no Patrick Williams was Curtis Ovis. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was after that. They drafted Kobe White was their last pick in 2019. I think Carnos, so I think Carnos Ovis is the GM who belongs here. I agree with that. I agree with that. I just, but even Carnos Ovis, I think Carnos Ovis is one of the least bad of the guys in this. I was going to say, one way move is like catastrophically. Right. He would have been bad. I was going to say Carnos Ovis was, uh, these other guys were played against clubbers. Carnos Ovis. I would say I would be 100. Yeah. Carnos Ovis is just normal bad. Yeah. I agree, but we have to run down this real quick.
The boot trade is still so fucking bad. It's right. I mean, obviously, Franz kind of having these injuries. But really, if like who, who was, who was the pick right before Franz? It was Caminga, right? You could hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Okay. So, the process of the boot trade, remember the process. It was the season of COVID when everyone was missing games left and right. They trade for Vouch and Zach Levine immediately is out with COVID for like two weeks. And then they just collapse down the stretch of this season and they give up the seventh pick in the draft, which becomes Franz, obviously not every seventh pick is going to hit. That's a pretty good draft, but the, the, it's stronger a little bit later than that range outside of France. But my point here is that the process of this was we're going to make win-down moves to go sign Demartre Vrosin in free agency. And if I'm more should get him, the carousel move was very good. I will give him that. I had that written down is very good. But he gave Zach Levine that massive contract that he had a salary dump.
He, he did the giddy for Carousel trade, which look, I think it's bad, but I mean, I guess there was an argument for it at the time. And then the Patrick Williams trade pick is, is, is horrible. Also, I, I do agree he's just normal bad, but like this kind of just shows you that bad GM's just don't hang around quite as much as they use. And, and, and that, and bad GM's look like him now. Like this is like, the bad news aren't as funny anymore. Yeah, except for not laughable why he should be in the hall of fame. Yeah. He permanently broke a slop dopamine receptors. Exactly. I'm switching one get wonders to being higher because I think Nico had more of an impact on the, yeah, I was going to say that was a, that was a, look at trade was the, yeah, look at trade was the porn addiction for slop. It's everything else. How am I supposed to get? How am I supposed to get a day later? I was like, I feel nothing. Yeah. I'm not going to get excited over someone liking my tweet anymore. Like come on.
Yeah. Honestly, until the Jalen and LeBron stuff and that was personal to me, I did not feel anything quite like the lucrative. Um, so all right. Uh, by the way, this is someone that I actually think has never been discussed on this podcast that I actually think has a really good case for the vote here, which is, um, that is Chris Grant who ran the calves from 2010 to 2004. So LeBron leaves, obviously the calves are not in a great position. The only thing that he did good during this time period was just drafts, Kyrie Irving, um, in 2011, the consensus number one overall pick. Um, he in four years, they won 28.7% of their games. They, uh, they selected Kyrie. Tristan Thompson with the fourth is, fourth pick is fine because that range of the draft was weird. That range is bad.
Yeah. That range is just so not good. It's not good. That draft gets much better later. One of the weirdest drafts ever. It's like five Hall of Fame level guys, but like one of them is in the top eight picks. Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say the only guy that you really could have argued there, the, the, Kauai was getting buzz really high. They, when we rewatch the draft, when I, I will rewatch it at some point, when I rewatch the draft for a little bit, they were talking about Kauai going very high in that draft. And he actually ended up going, he was going to be a late riser. He ended up going at 15 in that draft, but, um, yeah, the Tristan Thompson pick like Jonas on Trunas, Jan Vesley, Pismac, Bianba, Brandon Knight. Like those were the next few picks. It was until Kenba, they had just drafted Kyrie. That one's fine, but, uh, he drafted Anthony Bennett, uh, in 2013. He, uh, he took, he took Deon Waiters in 2012 over Dame. Um, he also just made constantly just like, uh, basically none of these moves, Matt, or outside of draft picks during this time period. What?
So in four years, they had five top four picks and they went, yeah, one for four. Really? Don't count the weekends when I guess like one for four because the weekend's, weekends was after him. Yeah. He got fired. Yeah. So it's, it's Kyrie Tristan Thompson, Deon Waiters and Bennett, right? Yeah. So that's like, yeah, for four. And one of, and you had two number one overall picks. Yeah. Get it. I, I think Bennett, because everyone always says like, oh, like the draft sucked. Like, but like it's like auto Porter, what I helped those calves seems to fucking lot. Yeah. And I remember there were people arguing he should go first because everyone was just like, I know auto Porter will be a good NBA starter. And he's the only guy in the draft that I know will be a good NBA starter. Because there were auto Porter people. There were, there were all the deep. There were all the deep. For sure. And like, Bill, Bill said they should take all the deep out. Those guys, that was who I thought should have been the first pick also. And like those guys weren't franchise. But they were very like, and especially because LeBron went back like they would have been fucking game changers. Like all the deep out and Kyrie is like kind of a perfect backward.
Exactly. And quick question. Do you think that this deserves to go in just normal bad or one hit wonders because the better pick is an all time. I was like, I don't want to hit wonder and then like Bennett is the one hit. Like, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Cause like, you know, like everything else is fun. Cause I don't know. Can you make it the first pick in the draft is still on like, yeah, you can't justify it. No. Sam. I'm trying to, I'm trying to figure out when was Clay Thompson drafted. He's 20. Yeah, yeah, he was a little bit later. He's way worried. Okay. Cause he might have said the vision. He signed his brother in December 15th of 2011. So, sorry. Maybe if he, yes. I didn't even Michael, the other Michael Thompson with an E. So there's another one. Cause Clay has a brother who played majorly baseball. Okay. This is, I don't know. This is Michael Thompson not spelled like his dad. With a head end. No way.
Yeah. Might be a lot more like, yeah. Yeah. He went to Pepperdine. And this was his only shot in the NBA. But he tried, I think he was trying to do an attempt to kumpo thing. So like, do we give him credit? He signed him a half. Yeah. There are three brothers. This guy's the one. After the drafts and the one and the youngest. Yeah. But I think even if it's after the draft, we didn't know if Clay was good yet. You know what I'm saying? This is before like anything had been happening. So I think you know, we could make the case. This Sam is so addicted to doing a contrarian arguments that he is now saying, what if he signed Clay Thompson's brother when Clay was a rookie to try to recruit him with LeBron Kid. He didn't get to see it through because of the benefit, which is his fault, which is his fault. I understand, but this is crazy. I'm sorry. I was kind of locked in and I did this. Did you guys talk about trading J Crowder? I think that might have been a draft night trade, but he did technically have J Crowder in house and traded him for Tyler seller.
No, I did. No one's no real real. That's a deep full will. How do you know that? We'll send me that. We'll send me that video. Sam, I've got there on the internet of you. Turn around. Turn around. But it's yeah. Yeah. For anyone who wants to know Sam used to make parody songs. It's like, no, to be clear, it's like hundreds of four second videos and it's just called like Kelly O'Linnick Gortot screen. And it's just sets Gortot screen. That's the whole video and it's muted. And then there's one three minute. He clipped it for espionage. That's what I was doing. Yeah. I was writing for Celtic's blog at the top. The whole scope. Yeah. The total eclipse of the heart parody. Yeah. I have been watching old school Sam. I put another. Well, there's another YouTube thing out there that I've hidden that had a lot of videos that I made when I was like 18. Better. You know, some of them didn't age great.
Let's just say that. Well, I don't get to say there was there was definitely I was trying to be the fourth mic on come down. Let's go. I was just saying, the left is here folks. Yeah. Who you can do that? Sam Chi and they asked every democratic quality. Let's definitely not look into internet histories of anyone. I definitely don't have a song out there that. My software year of college. I would back. I always know where it is. I would back the trail. It had. My name is not attached to it at all. Good luck finding it. But. I challenge you the brave, the brave person in the. I actually, unless, unless the geogessor guy. Is in the discord. I think I'm good on this. I'm going to put. I come. Do we put money McNair in one hit wonders for the Halliburton thing? Yeah. I do. We put him in context because of Vivek. Okay. No, the Halliburton thing is bad enough that. Yeah. He's trapped in was pretty bad outside of Halliburton too. The hell. It's so good.
Maybe I'm. Yeah. Yeah. Vindicated by the way. That's a that's a starter on what and then he drafted devon carter years later again who I did. I already have Fox and Halliburton. Yeah. I. Ever thought they would take Shengoon, which is and then if you just take Shengoon you don't trade for fucking support. Is by the way. Mitchell better than Shengoon. You heard it here first, folks. He will be. He will go further in the playoffs. Yeah. Sam loves the Miami Heat now. I do. I love this box roster. I can't wait. I've said evil and terrible for five years of James Jersey. I love all of them. That's so true. You're spitting right now. Okay. Rob Hennegen from the magic. I honestly, he started out pretty good. Did the Dwight Howard trade actually made out decent in that. Considering Dwight was definitely gone and he took over. Basically completely shit the best. The Mario has only a pick. Trade it for Alfred Peyton on draft night.
That's obviously bad. But he did make the. What's that? He made some really awful picks. Yeah, but hold on. He did draft Aaron Gordon, which was good. He did draft Victor Ola Deepo, which was good. The one of the worst stretches of a GM. I've ever seen. Is his 2016 to 2017. Just don't know and say anything. Let me get through this whole thing. They trade Tobias Harris to the pistons for Ersan, Ilias, over and Brandon Jennings. They then a few months later at the draft, flip Ersan at the draft with Ola Deepo and Subonus for Surgebaka. And then the next deadline they trade Ibaka and Terence Rods and the Raptors first, which we knew was going to be a late first round pick because the Raptors were really good. So they basically turned Tobias, Ola Deepo and Subonus into Terence Ross and a top 20 protected first round pick because they actually ended up trading that pick again back to the Sixers for possession.
It actually that pick ended up becoming Tyrese Maxi at a later date as well, actually. So basically they took a bunch of good rotation players slash like Ola Deepo made all stars, Subonus made all stars for Terence Ross and a late first. And then immediately after this, he got fired and he went back to OKC to work for them. That is an all time inside job. They traded the package that was for they traded a package for Surgebaka. I got to flip for Paul George one year later. And then later. Subonus is how it turns into Halibut. Yeah. Like the amount of good players that came from that SGA Paul George for SGA. Like the amount of good players that come back to that awful trade and then he ended up going back and working for the Thunder like inside job style. I actually think he's underrated for just a little bit of a one hit wonder, but just. It's not really one individual.
I guess the obaka trade would be. Dude, dude, he turned to buy his hair as Victor Ola Deepo and Subonus when they were all in their on their first contracts into Terence Ross and a first a late first round pick. You guys didn't even say the sneaky funniest part was in 2016. He signs Evan for New Year and Bismac Beyondbo to like what an equivalent dollars is basically like both 30 million dollar contracts like the nowadays. Yeah. Yeah. Like it's. Beyondbo signed it like Charlotte. Beyondbo went to order. No, he ended up on Charlotte, but he was with. He signed a four year 72 million dollar contract when the salary was on. Yeah, it's not. Because one day contract was honest. It kind of fine. I thought he was really good for that. He was he was. It was a little bad by the end of it. It was an overpay, but it was. Yeah, it was fine. Oh, the Beyondbo thing was crazy though. I mean, that's that. That guy is in all spite summer. She just got. It's own. Was he was he just gust on the bad getter one? Yeah, I'm the.
No, we we mentioned him in passing. I technically am rounding up. He made like 99.6 million dollars in the NBA. So you don't call it 100 billion. His business right in his name, man, I'm not sure he was ever good. Like his best seasons were like solid backup. And we got a Phoenix dollars. I think it was playing in feet because he played in the Chris Paul. Yeah, yeah, I was going to say I think that was probably his best season was that. That season. So he definitely is most famous NBA thing is the SGA knocked out by his aura. Thing. That's definitely his big contribution in. That's a black sea. Yeah. So I'm putting him in one hit wonders just because that trade literally reshape the NBA. Yeah. Like undeniably had created two contenders in the Pacers in the Thunder in a few years removed from it by that one awful move. Yeah. So I think that should absolutely be up there. Rob Babcock was just someone that should be mentioned in passing here.
And he talked about this during our draft stream that we did last week on Patreon. But he drafted a player in 2004. I've never even heard of his name was Raphael. What was it? Arruro or Arrujo. I literally didn't know this man one pick before Andre Iga Dala. One of the worst picks of all time. And he only ran the team for two and a half years. But he then traded Vince Carter in one of the worst returns ever getting a Lonzo morning who never played a game for them Aaron Williams Eric Williams. A 2005 first round pick which became Joey Graham who was also a bust. And then a 2006 first round pick which they traded to the next later for became Ronaldo Bachman. And then Charlie Villanueva who we discussed on the 2006 draft stream when we did it last week. And then he was in five draft stream. Just another just mediocre top 10 pick. He was a seventh pick in the draft. And then was sight the only good movie made he was he signed Jose Calderone as a free agent.
And then that was a fun thing. Just shout out to this might be a different Mike James. I'm assuming because of agent has to be. But they traded skip to my Lou Ray for Austin to the rockets for Mike James. And I'm saying that was not the same like James that was on the nets in 2021. James played in 2017. Yeah, I was going to say there's no way that you've been the same one. But I would say I would put him in just normal bad. But Vince Carter trade was really bad and his draft picks were terrible too. Every big card for trade is really. Yeah, we were going to who is that the GM before Messiah in Toronto. I forget his robber back up or the. Oh, Calangelo. Calangelo. I look. No, Calangelo was good with the Raptors. He the the Grievous Vazquez trade is so funny though. Yeah, but he also. If he tried to for Kyle Lowry and tomorrow. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's why he's not on here. But I yeah, the Grievous Vazquez trade is like.
I know what it is isolated isolated. What are the funniest? That was the norm Palanoge and an OB picks. Oh, you know, in your power. That's really tough. That's really tough. But it also. Wait, hold on. How does that make any sense? It was like that was it was a first and a second and that's what they turned in. But how could Calangelo have been involved with this when they were on the Raptors? Who were we taught were confusing this for some. They traded to the it was a trade. Maybe it's not Calangelo, but it was running before the. It was pretty sure it was before Messiah. I'll look into it. We can keep going while we're doing this. I was not the side trade it for Larry. And no, I'm sorry in Harry. I know you want to know how I know Darryl Mori traded him to stack up assets to go get James Arden. To that trade happened in 2013. The Lowry trade happened in 2012. It was the rockets traded him to the. And the pick that became Stephen Adams was in that trade. Which they flipped to the thunder.
Yeah, yeah. So once again. I got it was Messiah. Yeah, Messiah guilty for the Grievous fast cas trade. That's crazy. Wait. Messiah was on the good side. Messiah is on the good side. He trusted or how and OG. This is why I'm so confused. It's a good trade of a Grievous fact. Fast cas. The box did. Okay, so that was whoever was that also that might have been the other guy that runs the magic now. John Hammond. Maybe it was John Hammond then maybe I'm getting turned around about that. I just remember the Grievous fast cas thing being like so bad. He was like he was so bad for the raptors is why I like remember this. And I guess that was the thing he was outgoing for that. So. Yeah, no. Messiah crushed the draft during that time period for the raptors. Yeah, it was I'm pretty sure it was Rob Hennegan who drafted Yannis in 2013. That was the one that was guilty for that.
I could be wrong. Yeah. Maybe it was because it was 1415 so that would make sense. It was Hammond. Yeah, that's the magic guy. Yeah. Yeah. The guy after Hennegan. Okay, so. By the way, I couldn't find enough information about John Hollinger. And what was that? Because he wasn't really he was like an assistant was kind of the issue. He was the president of basketball operations. That was his title. That is like higher than general manager in most organizations. And I just want to run this down. Okay. He didn't draft a single MBA rotation player in any draft when he was there until later when they got when when when Kleinman was the assistant GM. And he runs the team now when they drafted Jaron Jackson Jr. John Moran and Brandon Clark, Reston P. John, John Contrara was also in that draft in the second round. By the way, the funniest argument on Twitter this past week, John Contrara versus Cody Williams.
I had a ball with that. People were very bad at me for tweeting how bad Cody Williams is. The best move that he had during this 10 year was trading Rudy Gay for Tashon Prince. He inherited Marcus all he inherited Mike Conley. He inherited Zach Randolph. The team slowly got worse over time as he was the GM as you've seen the graph. And they moved him down the totem pole during his last two or three years there, which was the best time that they made moves. Like I just don't think that he did anything necessarily good. So reason he's a fucking podcaster now. You know, yeah. Bobby Boer. I think he's a good podcaster too. I like Hollinger's podcast. I just I don't think that he was particularly good at running. Can I say something? Okay. I maybe I'm misremembering. I think John Hollinger might have or if not him somebody who has control over his Wikipedia, removed his tenure from the Grizzlies, you can't find on Wikipedia when he was on the Grizzlies. I can tell you what it was.
It was just passing. But I'm just saying it's not on basketball reference. That's what I think. Well, he was I think he was vice president of basketball operations. It was a technical fight. I okay, then I can't put him in there. If that's I have to say one holly drink thing before he move on from him. I'm not going to say I'm not going to spoil it. If you if you want to treat go on Twitter and search Taliban on his Twitter profile. One that's what is possible. One of all. I respect him so much for not deleting it. I bring it up like once a year. Yeah. No, I I respect that. Also, you're right. It is vice president. I got that wrong. So I don't know what he really did, but it seemed like he got a lot of credit for things. And then he just didn't do it because people liked him because he was coming from like media. And like we won't put him on the board then if he was the vice president. I feel like that's not like president of basketball operations. If we're going to do that, we have to do Bobby Marx like. Yeah, I'm going to up. Whoa.
Yeah. Yeah. Assisted seven to the world. I'm not going to be real jail. We're worse than a seventh man. Um, okay. Uh, that was a jail in Brown joke. Um, okay, Ryan McDonough. Oh, I demon. One of my favorites. One of the worst of all time. Uh, his old won't here. I'm going to be honest. Like, let me redale the resume. Yeah. One 48. The first year he inherits this team, they would 48 games. The last three, they didn't win more than 24 games. He drafted Alex Len in the top five. TJ Warren 14th. Fine, fine, pick. Uh, Tyler NS 18th. And then also drafted Bogdanovic, but then traded him later in the Marquis. Chris trade before we ever played a game. He's the best player from the stretch and, uh, traded Isaiah Thomas to the Celtics for a late first. Isaiah Thomas went on to have an MVP candidate level season all NBA season with the Celtics after this.
Traded Gordon drawgets for two first round picks, but had to take on Danny Green's contract to do it. Then use both Reggie Bullock and Marcus Morris to get off Danny Granger's contract that off season. They were stacked up. Stacked up picks and assets to make an all in trade. Then use that in the 2016 trade and walked away with Marquis, Chris and Dragon Bender from that draft. The next draft took Josh Jackson with the fourth pick in 2017, passed on Luca for eight and the only salvageable moves he made. Basically the whole time period was Devon Booker, which is a great pick at the end of the lottery in 2015. And the McHale Bridges trade, which he did have to give up an extra first, but obviously Zaire Smith was not good. So it was a great move by him. But also people really criticize the process at the time for that, which was very funny. I know that I remember that was my, because that was my, that was my first semester of college that year. And I was a statistic major. I had a lot of like calculator rat friends and they were like, I remember people like,
Adam is leaving like, it doesn't matter. That's like your Smith sucks. If you do this 100 times more. Because the heater always bad. So you want that heat pick was the art like the heater never had. I do remember back then people were arguing that was the idea. So the, the, yeah. Yeah. And then the six years help. Just regular bad though. Yes. I have the whole favor outside the top 10. Maybe but everything else is so bad though. We just talked about weight, a whiffing multiple first round picks. Dragon vendor Josh Jackson. Yeah. He also has Booker and McHale Bridges. It's a whole favor. And I see. Did he get McHale Bridges? I think the coverage was after him. No, no, no, he did. I promise you. Like that's. I'm telling you I was so mad on this draft night. I remember people being like, this is, but right. McDonnell is going to lose his job. So he's taken a risk here and done it on blah blah blah. And it turned out to be great for them. I mean, but obviously they can't be.
It was it was a lot. Yeah. That was the last thing he did. Um, he also treated here. Led so for Greg Monroe. Yeah. One of the worst traits. Like, remember, he's any straight tweet. I don't want to be here anymore. Yep. That's one of the. Yeah, we're. Part of the reason for that is he like signed Brandon night. Like you also have to remember it. Like, like that was a situation he created on his own. And Isaiah Thompson. I feel pretty strongly Ryan McDonnell is like, I think he's. I think he's. Yeah. Like, he's, he's very bad. Like he. Yeah. Kevin Booker and Bridges, I will give him. But. Yeah. I mean, it almost feels like the, the, the monkey typewriter theory. Yes. Yeah. He's. He took like, he had like seven lottery picks. But like, but so to be like, he traded them all away. Like, he also like, gambled completely wrong on every aspect of the 48 win. I just think I just think he's so clearly not as bad as the guys. He'd woke. I guess that is true, but he's also, I think, kind of worse than a lot of the other.
The least bad woke GM. What a tie. So I don't know. Yeah. Cause he's not really a one hit wonder. We'll give him normal bad, but I think he's got to be at the front of the line. Yeah. Yeah. He's the one. Yeah. I mean, the Devon Booker thing is like really. He's got a whole favorite house. Also, also, the only thing I will give him credit for. They made the finals literally two years after he was gone. Like that is he didn't dig them a deep enough hole that they couldn't get out of it pretty quickly. And they were a very good team for two to three years. And then everything just fell apart. No, the other thing you can, you can say about him is he did not pass on Luca. He did pass on Luca. Oh, he didn't think he was gone. Wasn't he gone that track? No, we took. What? Just say, who those 18 years ago? 2018 draft. He drafted eight and he didn't know how are we talking about this? He's a very soon. He deserves to be the worst. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm overruling Will on this. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. You know, this is just a little bit of a game as boss and and passed on Luca, like, I, and in the, the Devon Booker pick is amazing, and the McElbride, you've seen worked out, but like, I just, I can't, I can't. I get it. I just think he's very clearly not quite as bad. Fair. My big thing I think you can probably put him ahead of Vloty because my big thing with Vloty is he draft He didn't draft look at Donchich and Ryan McDonough did that and then a bunch of other bad things also Right is that one of this guy right? And then didn't take So crazy I think part of that because I think Sarvers to all the team at the time and he was like an Arizona like he went No one knows part of the thing is but it's on it's on Ryan McDonough's Wikipedia page like if you look at it It says he he was stumping for eight and it would be really good if so they They got Lucas coach and then didn't draft him but Lucas Rae Ahmed did coach was like yeah, he's a diva
Nico should have hired him like when they Bring him in as a consultant like the Luca haters fan just Hiring Vloty too because he didn't like his dad All right, are weaver so true weaver are demon I Think he's normal bad like he drafted a lot of good players. No, he draft so he's kind of similar to McDonough But with a better drafting record. Yeah, there's nothing like yeah Like because he set up for the bones of a good team. Yeah, the problem is that He did he pissed away assets and cap space. Yeah, and he's still doing it with the pelicans Okay, okay might be not as bad as you like honestly like maybe not Tom turn the podcast off right now Tom They were there 160 games this year with his core. This is what I'm saying like Tom You got to turn the podcast like at least he didn't fuck up the kid thing like you know That's really bad new place and then immediately made the dare queen trade
That made like honestly if he hadn't been hired by the pelicans out of been like Not as bad as you think but maybe that puts him back into normal back So drafting to rent outside of the top 10 even with the rents weirdness yeah drafting Really his big whiff his Killian haze Isaiah Stewart was a good pick Cade was obviously consensus. You don't get credit for that Asar is a good pick Can I say something to I would have I would have also fucked up the Killian haze thing like where He was sliding like you know what I'm saying like like people Yeah, notably had a one I liked him in that draft and he what they took him at seven six something like that like I thought he could be like a like a like a two like a defensive guy who was like yeah, yeah, I thought I thought like it Everything works. He would be like a like a true holiday. Yeah Like I like KCP maybe even like there's something I think Troy Weaver's fault will always be just Overvaluing one guy or one thing
Getting locked in on that overpaying to do it with cap space or with draft picks or whatever But he is genuinely a really good drafter Yeah, and I do I do think he's really good at drafting extremely nasty like a lot of the sheets say Killian is good and like some of the supporting He's literally just like the worst score in NBA history. Yeah So he's a man, but like but wait like he like is a positive effect on like assists like assist a turnover ratio and awesome His defense is like five literally the worst for no no, don't worry. This sheets have never like So Still bad, but Question question is there anyone else that you want to nominate that I miss that you think should absolutely be on here Brad save is You think Sean Marx should be on here like I would say I think Sean Marx is like an average GM who's gotten Yeah, I read it's just so crazy like the and like movie honestly might just be new Ernie Grunfeld
They they fell in the lot like they trade to get their picks back and then they they were the only team to fall multiple spots each of the last two hours That's incredible And he like he drafted Jared Allen like Feel about the nets if instead of Yegor they had like VJ It was like VJ and the kelp round as you're like Sure, it's a lot of bullshit. It's a lot of I mean the 2025 draft is a Thing is like low key a lot of the guys I like kind of also suck like That's not looking very good outside of you go like the later part obviously the top's very good But the later part about first round is looking not so great. Thank you. Do we think Lawrence Frank is a horrible draft Winning record every single year he was there, but they've had it. Yeah, he said I mean he's kind of Darryl Morricot I was gonna say let's judge it if they if they have another losing record that like I think it's totally plausible that they could like That the West is like kind of soft with will convince me that their
Overrunners 30 and a half which I think is high Because they also feel like especially after this shit like if they're bad for the first month all time Tyler they're doubting you I I thought they were I keep thinking they're gonna be bad and they just keep like not being they have like they had good players They have no They have no Zubach like they have no starting big and no shooting. That's how you suck like those are the defense is gonna be terrible outside Chris done plays like 20 minutes of game and every other time that he's not on the court They're gonna have a horrendous defense and they're defensive wings are Ruiha Shamura and Brandon Ingram other than dark zones Tyler they're doubting you go. They're doubting you they say you're sweating. I just don't think coaching matters enough that you can win 40 games with a bad team Brad Steven today's at the time. I also see in today's not what not when the East looks like it did 10 years ago That was a Mickey Mouse East. Yeah, my favorite Brad Steven should ever Was his press conference after this season he was like yeah, I mean like I know we won a lot of games
But like the leaks suck like I will say that was awesome and I actually respected him a lot That was really cool. Yeah, I was fake as fuck. Yeah, and he's he was cooking like 100% like okay, will is there anyone that I miss that you think should be I'm sure we'll get comments on people that we missed I'll just run down the list again Yeah, the Phil Jackson I guess but Phil Jackson was so I looked into it He drafted porzingus and then he just did like nothing Yeah, what did he do bad? I think I bet I bet Tyler quits like two months in this year. Yeah, that's probably just probably right Yeah, how about nothing I know The Luka trade is kind of a the inversion of a one-hit wonder, but I do think Polinka like is Luka is is is I think Polinka is like reverse Sean Marx were like it's such bad process, but then he sounded like it's good results We should we should we should have Polinka in context because the context is that he's the luckiest man in the
He's so bad at his job, but he just keeps pulling fucking horses out of his ass Because I also like the magic John's like magic Johnson had like just before polinka and like Nika was working there had like Stupid moves, but nothing like they still got Yeah, they were getting like Yeah, yeah, yeah Josh Harp's best where they drafted and he went like five teams. I do think that this actually He's even a Steven Smith did such bad damage to Phil Jackson the executive Replication with that clip for like six months. He was on his pen saying that he thinks Bill Jackson's trying to get fired He's doing such a bad job on work this he didn't even really like if you were looking at his stuff You're always reporting that like oh, yeah, nobody's seen him in months. Yeah, he was like genuinely like in in Montana for like portion of that he was a wrong living things character in office space It was just like I'm not gonna go anymore
All right, I'm gonna run down this in the vote here. We have Billy King Isaiah Thomas David Khan Ryan McDonald of Lodi D. Vox and Ted Steppian We have In the one-hit wonders tier. We have Nico Harris and Chris Grant Monty McNair Just for the Halliburton trade basically and Rob Hennegan We have in the just normal bad tier. We have Ernie Grunfeld Carnosovus Rob Babcock and then not as bad as you think we have Steve Mills and Troy Weaver.
