Rangers Snap Streak, DeGrom Shines in Win

Texas Rangers finally snapped their 4-game losing streak Monday night, with a tight 2-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. Jacob DeGrom took the mound as their ace, but the night kicked off rough in the first inning. Cal Raleigh, last year's American League MVP runner-up, put up a battle for the ages. He fouled off 7 pitches to run the count full, then crest to Grom's 12-pitch fastball, 418 feet to right field for a quick. One nothing lead. DeGrom shook it off like a pro though, locking in tight after that. He didn't give up another hit all night, with just a walk to Luke Grayley and an air on Julio Rodriguez as the only other Mariners base runners. The Rangers' offense came through with smart timely hits to play two runs and take the victory.
