Random Stuff 206: The Magic you are Looking For

Success isn't always found in the grand gestures or the hacks we hunt for in our feeds.

It's often found in the boring work we're currently trying to avoid.

We often mistake complexity for progress, but the most elite performers aren't doing different

things.

They're just doing the basics better than anyone else.

They've mastered the art of being bored while remaining disciplined.

The truth is your competitive advantage isn't your IQ or your talent.

It's your ability to show up on day 21, day 90, day 300 when the novelty has worn off

and the undeniable proof hasn't showed up yet.

If you want to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be, you must

audit your boring tasks.

These are usually the highest leverage activities you must kill the negotiation, stop asking

yourself how you feel about the work and start treating your schedule like a contract

with your future self, and you must focus on the reps, not the results.

The goal isn't the win.

The goal is becoming the person who does the work required to win.

And so the magic you are looking for is in the work you're avoiding.
