Rams Skip WR in Early Draft Rounds

0:00On April 25, three rounds deep into the 2026 NFL draft, and the Los Angeles Rams still haven't grabbed a wire receiver. Folks expected them to snag USC star McCuy Lemon at the 13th overall pick, but they won a different route, prioritizing other needs early on. Instead, they took Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at 13, then Ohio State tight end Max Claire at 61, and Missouri offensive tackle Keegan, trust at 93. Lemon stayed on the board past their first pick, but the Philadelphia Eagles scooped him up at 20. Rans coach Sean McBaeh explained they talked about four different receivers in those rounds, but other teams jumped ahead. General manager Lest Need added that Whiteouts were always in the conversation for every selection, showing it's not off the table. The team feels good about their young receivers already on the roster, like Jordan Whittington, Kanata Mumfield, and Xavier Smith, all expected to, level up soon. Whittington and Smith joined in 2024, Mumfield in his rookie year last season.
