Rams Sign McDuffie to Record-Breaking Deal

Right after the deal, they plan a 4-year extension worth $124 million, with $100 million guaranteed. That sets a new high mark, potentially over 34 million per season for top cornerbacks. McDuffey, just 25 years old, was a first-round pick for the Chiefs back in 2022. He earned all pro honors last year with three career interceptions, and his do about 13.6 million this season on his rookie deal. This bolster's the Ram Secondary, which struggled in 2025, and fits General Manager less needs history of smart cornerback moves like, the Jalen Ramsey trade. The Ripple effects hit Philadelphia hard since the Rams faced the Eagles next season. More crucially, it raises the stakes for Eagle Stars, Quinyan Mitchell, and Cooper Dijon, both up for extensions in 2027.

He ranked top three in tight window throws, forced yards after catch per reception, passer rating allowed, and forced incompletions all without. Running up a touchdown in over 600 coverage snaps, Dijon shines too, and together they could smash the market. As these young talents eye big paydays, the cornerback position just got a lot more expensive across the league.
