Rams Hire Ex-Players as Coaches

Head coach Sean McVeigh brought on Brian Allen as an assistant offensive line coach and Robert Woods to help with the White receivers. McVeigh made it clear this is not about doing favors, but because he truly believes both men will excel in these roles. Allen started with the team last season in a consulting role before going full time. He will work alongside offensive line coach Ryan Wendell and assistant Zach Kromer. People he already knows well from his playing days. Woods, who just retired with the Rams on a one day contract three weeks ago, joins White receivers coach Rob Calabrese and veteran Eric Yarber. McVeigh praised Allen's passion on the field and his knack for connecting with younger linemen during practices and games. For Woods, he highlighted the strong group around him, including offensive coordinator Nate Shilhaes and quarterback coach Dave Ragon. Their experience playing in the Rams system gives them an edge in teaching and relating to players.
