Raising Cane's Opens in Birmingham, Gives Back to Community

Raising Cain's open to its third location in Alabama on Tuesday, March 10th, marking the first spot in the Birmingham area at 5301 U.S. Highway 280. Fans of the chain's fried chicken fingers turned out in huge numbers despite a lightning storm, with some waiting in line for 14 to 16. Hours just to be among the first inside, when doors opened at 10am. Fans of customers lined up early, eager for the special opening perks. The first 100 combo buyers inside scored a branded trucker hat plus a free combo card for later. Those arriving between 8 and 9am entered a drawing for one of 20 spots to get free canes for a year, meaning three box combos each month. For 12 months, local touches shined through in the restaurant's Birmingham inspired decor, creating a welcoming vibe. And ran high, as folks grabbed their meals and celebrated the new addition to the area's fast food scene.

1:00The chain gave back right away, donating $1,500 each to two local groups, Genesis 1, an animal rescue in the Chelsea and Birmingham area, and King's home, which helps youth, women, mothers, and kids facing abuse, neglect, homelessness, and tough times. Festivities rolled on into the night with a live country band starting at 6pm, and the restaurant leader promised more community service, and donations ahead.
