Raiders, Eagles & Browns Deep Dives + Best Ball ADP Buy or Sell

We got some breaking news in the NFL world, which is always welcome this time of year. We kind of get a little bit of the dull germs between free agency and the NFL draft. I'm at least right now. Once we get a little bit closer to the draft, obviously things are going to get a little bit crazier, but we did have some breaking news this morning. So we're going to get to that. We are also going to do a couple of deep dives on the Eagles and the Browns. We're also going to take a look at what's the latest over on the Draft Kings early bird best ball scene. I did a draft last night. We're going to discuss too high, too low, too hot, too cold type of players over there on Draft Kings show the Draft board all that good stuff. But Mario, we will begin with the Kirk Cousins saga. It has been officially

1:06decided as of this morning. He is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. So assuming that the Raiders also draft for Nana Mendoza, which is the kind of greater expectation here, the Raiders now have a kind of solid quarterback room all of the sudden. One that's certainly extremely corny, like you could feel like the dad jokes in that quarterback room are just going to be off the charts. Yeah, they are guys. I probably wouldn't want to hang out with. But Mendoza, especially right now, looks good. Cousins, of course, used to be good and might be a useful presence of some kind to the Raiders now that he's there. I don't know what the appropriate reaction is for Mendoza's ADP. I'm sure it's going to drop. It already, I want to say it already dropped in most places about a round. I think some point following the combine is the first time the drip drip about the Raiders

2:11maybe getting a veteran began. And if you saw Mendoza drop one round about that point, and we might see a drop another who knows round two from this point. If so, I'm probably just going to draft more Mendoza. I guess I'm a sucker for having drafted him apparently like two rounds too early this whole time. But if particularly if we're looking for that quarterback three type and you can get Mendoza at a quarterback three type, that's a no brainer I guess at that point because I think it's just all upside for you. Like Mendoza, if he's a quarterback two, you admittedly might be walking a tight rope trying to especially get to your quarterback ones by week or whatever before needing the before Mendoza's in the lineup or whatever. But I think it's worth keeping mind a couple things. One Mendoza is really good, or at least that's my suspicion. And if he is, the question of how good cousins might be at this point probably won't matter. As much as

3:14as much as Clinton, Kubiak, the GM over there, whatever as much as they might want to kind of drag things out in a rebuildy kind of way, you know, like we're not even trying to compete this year. We're just trying to, you know, protect the quarterback and even do like a little bit of a slight tank so that we don't get too high in the draft order for next year when we really go in. You know, that kind of thing might be their strategy, but I think cousins is not, it's not just that Mendoza is good enough to dictate that. It's that cousins might be pretty toast at this point. He's going to be 38 in August. He wasn't actually good last year. Maybe he was better than panic. I don't know. I don't really have a strong feeling on it. But I think this signing, there's a really good chance that the cousins signing to the Raiders is just adding quality depth and like veteran presence to the locker room to show Mendoza how how how to navigate the league a little bit, and not so much to explicitly put Mendoza on the bench. I think you've seen some people suggest like, oh, it's they're going to do the the the patma homes with them. They're going to put them on. Oh, no. That kind of stuff isn't going to happen anymore in my opinion.

4:18No, I don't think so either in like the the Raiders today versus the chiefs back then are just so completely different. Like the the chiefs were like still competing in and so like that. They had every reason to take patric homes, of course, but also to to be ride with Alex Smith and just kind of like see where where that took them that that particular season before obviously making the transition. Like the Raiders like they're not going to make the playoffs this year. Like that there's no like if they start cousins, they're they're going to win that division. Like that they're fighting to get out of the basement in the AFC West. So like I don't I don't view it like that. How do you view it when it comes to like the general kind of vibe of of this of this team from like a fantasy attractiveness because you know you you want to look at like the entire Raiders offense and obviously last year is abysmal whether is you know through the passing game or or on the on the ground for the most part. You know volume was sort of ended up

5:19saving you if you if you ended up you know taking Ashton Gentee because the the efficiency was tough and everything like that. So with like cousins being there in Mendoza you know again likely being that the pick for them at one. Do you feel like the the floor is kind of raised a little bit where it's like okay Mendoza struggles at least like you know this iteration of Kerr cousins can at least like keep afloat my Brock Bowers keep afloat my Jalen Nailer. Sorry I think we had a connection fluctuation there. Okay did my question come through or no I'm going to jump out. All right I see I see the comments about Mendoza shouldn't be drafted outside of dynasty and I'm glad he brought that up because I don't agree with it at all actually it's one thing in in redraft formats where you don't even need a quarterback to like an NFFC or something like that. I've definitely drafted NFFC teams where I didn't even have a quarterback to and in that type of format I wouldn't want Mendoza as a quarterback on my roster perhaps but when we're talking about

6:20best ball and especially these 20 rounds or more we're talking about Mendoza especially as a quarterback three. So that's something you don't have an equivalent like market for that and most redraft formats and that could be maybe why we sound unreasonably high on Mendoza to some people's leagues but I still think Mendoza is going to play to such an extent that he's useful in one quarter in redraft anyway leagues maybe maybe that most one quarterback leagues but in redraft I do think Mendoza is going to be useful because whenever a script this takes from here the raiders go it all roads lead to Mendoza I think like cousins playing any significant amount of time is in more than one or two games would require Mendoza being bad you know it's like there's there's no way Mendoza is good and they put it in fear your quarterback on the field and lose games for it there's there's just no way in my opinion so I think all again all all likely roads lead to Mendoza and if so that's particularly when I get an interest in the raiders pass catchers and we got

7:23guys like Bowers doesn't need any explanation and he doesn't need a particular quarterback but guys like Naylor maybe even I still think they might move Michael Mayer in a trade and if that clears up more room for Jack Bash or somebody like else somebody like that I wouldn't be surprised if they pop a little bit too but I expect Clint Kubiak with Mendoza there with this rebuilt offensive line there I think they're going to start fast I don't think this offense is going to struggle and I I think it's because Mendoza will be on the field rather than cousins yeah like Kubiak got the the Saints rolling out out of the gate a couple years ago I mean that I was not like going to be a good Saints team even before all the injuries kind of befell them so the raiders are definitely you know I feel like looking up I feel like Mendoza's a guy that that you know should have a relatively clean clean transition I did want to ask you I read this morning from from Bill Connelly who yeah people might know as more like the college football

8:25guy but he obviously has very good perspective on these draft prospects and he wrote an article that that's basically like what could go right what could go wrong wait what are these guys bringing to the table as far as like the quarterback prospects in this class go and he noted that pressure to sac rate is is pretty sticky from from college to the NFL and Mendoza once he's pressured he usually gets sacked I thought that was kind of like a interesting thing in like he you know scaled it to talking about other you know high draft picks first round or you know top 10 top five type of picks and it was you know pretty like like sticky like Joe burrow had a pretty high sac or pressure to sac rate in college he gets you know sacked a lot cam ward other guys you know of that similar ilk does that like concern you at all with with Mendoza like generally I guess you know that kind of goes beyond that like the best ball context more like how you view

9:27him as a prospect but did you feel like he held the ball a little bit too long at Indiana not really but I guess as much as Bill Connelly is definitely good I'm not familiar with those numbers and I'd be curious to know is that from Indie is are the numbers that he had at Indiana in California separated and clarified because I'd be curious to see how those split up I because that California California was crap and then at Indiana even there even though they were great it's kind of easy to end up with a with a fluky number be it too high or too low just because they didn't throw the ball that much so it's kind of like right if there was one game where Mendoza threw at 15 more times than any other game and he took three sacks in that game it could kind of spike the rate because they only he only threw like 390 passes or whatever so if he had thrown like 600 or whatever there would have been a chance for those those those numbers to kind of flat in a little bit I guess I'm inclined it maybe I'm just you know dismissing the concern too easily

10:30maybe I'm just too high on Mendoza but I see him as more like the Justin Herbert kind of messing around with pressure it's like he if he's if he's taking pressure he's taking sacks I think it's because he's trying to stand in the pocket and like wait out some shop that he's looking to take as opposed to padding the ball and dropping your eyes and you know panicking that's that's one way you can take a lot of sacks turn a lot of pressure situations in the sacks situations and yet you can also turn a lot of you know pressures into sacks by trying to just take greater risks than other quarterbacks and either way I guess I just defer to the quality of the passing production it's one of those things like even if he's taking more sacks than most quarterbacks it looks like he's pretty good at getting out of it in the next play no he he absolutely is and there was like a you know a noting from Bill C about you know like I think he was pressured on like 35% of his dropbacks at Cal probably closer to like 25% at Indiana so really you know

11:35a pretty stark difference percentage wise in in terms of like how much he was getting pressured but the the times in which he was getting pressured versus getting sacked was kind of kind of remain the same whether he was at Cal or Indiana but you know it's just one data point you know like it you know that's some guys like it it was more extreme with like a Caleb Williams for example and it's like something that that like that still kind of needs to be worked out as a kink in his game it's like concerning with the way that he can like always try to do the home run thing but that's also what what you know made the highlights of the bear's season that this pastor you know whether it was the the DJ Moore touchdown against the packers or you know the the throw to what Cole Komet and in the playoffs like that yeah sometimes you can't really separate the the guns slinger out and and you know get it perfect either way you got to live with the good and with the bad and a lot of these instances and yeah I think that generally the the Raiders throw it I'd be a

12:38lot more concerned about this if the Raiders offensive line was what it looked like last year you know right I think in this this could be a way the best ball season goes poorly for me I just think the Raiders are under price straight up I understand that conventional wisdom would say that they're going to be a crap team again and I've been early on rebuilds in the past like I was I was early on the Jags rebuild but this to me reminds me more of something like I don't know chip Kelly to the Eagles or whatever when it was more like the league hasn't caught up to what this guy does yet and until people see it they straight up won't believe it but it's it's still real yeah so for for instance I'm showing a graphic on the screen of like how the how the Raiders get drafted as far as their 80p goes and and it goes by by position so you have bowers and genty as top 25 players or you know yeah hell yeah well we'll get to more on on genty here soon because I took him

13:40in in my draft Kings best ball last night but you get to the other skill position guys no one else is getting drafted inside like the top 175 or something like that I think Jalen Illars is right there then you get you're you're you're Thornton Dante Thornton and then Jack Bash as like a potential endgame guy and then I don't even think that the Raiders RB2 gets drafted I'm not even sure if the Raiders RB2 is even on the roster right now so yeah so basically what what I'm trying to say here is that the market it's good it's gonna be right or wrong you know that as a case for any team but you know as it stands Mario like it like you are saying we have two guys that are going really early and then are we set are we implying that there's like a complete wasteland and behind them I don't think so there's probably good values to be had in this Raiders offense once you get beyond the likes of of bowers and genty and there's a pretty strong likelihood you know that that a Jalen nailer type or someone else ends up beating their ADP pretty considerably

14:44this year yeah I think the Raiders are probably going to take a receiver of notes in the draft the the real thing I'm waiting to see is is that receiver they take good enough ready enough to go this year that they basically move on from trade Tucker because as it stands even though he's a total misfit for it they almost might need to use Tucker as something like a sacrificial extra receiver even though he's much better suited to the slot or especially the flanker area but they they nailer is a slot flanker type Jack Bash is a slot flanker type so of those three if one of them is going to have to burn deep routes to clear out the others it's got to be Tucker and if Tucker gets another 800 snaps or whatever he's had the last two years I'll probably be looking at him in the last rounds of later rounds of bestball drafts because he would be fluky and hard to use almost impossible to use in redraft but Tucker's still fast and you know that there's there's a

15:46low target rate for those decoy receivers but those few there's few times where the defense fails to put a safety over the top it can be an easy long range touchdown so that that Tucker the X rep and the non nailer slot or and flanker rep there's still things that can change the one thing I feel safe ruling out is Dante Thornton I don't think he's gonna play ever again and someone like Ted Hurst, Jeremy Bernard, even I guess like Brazzles some some receiver like that could get drafted with that second round pick or somebody in the third so that's the only reason I'm not going to go too crazy at the non nailer types although I'm definitely curious to see how it develops it would be funny if they like kind of you know jettison Thornton and brought in Brazzles just because that sounds like a good upgrade yeah you come from that you know that carry the same questions I guess coming in from the from the technical. It'd be like learning

16:46your lessons though right because it's like they got and I got a little bit my hopes up with Thornton too because I was like well how could you not there been a 6 5 4 3 0 it's like but on the other hand his production in college is insanely bad so I guess we'll see and it's like okay so the insanely bad production you can't just dismiss but Brazzles is the happy medium of the two so that should work fine yeah and Tucker too I mean like you know everyone remembers his his giant spike week against Washington last year it's almost like it is like really yeah that that that in and of itself made made drafting him worth it last year like he probably like helped you clear the rest of your league by you know 15 or 20 points someone spent like two thirds of their NFFC budget in like week three or whatever that was on tray Tucker and on the one hand it was like I guess you have to but on the other this is this is definitely one of those places we don't want to end up in you don't want to do that all right we are going to transition on over to talk about some draft kings best ball again

19:50draft king segment we can obviously you know use this draft board as as a jumping off point but I did want to get your thoughts on some guys that are going too high or too low over on over on draft kings and I wanted to start things off for you I was surprised to see Bucky Irving go with the seventh pick in the fourth round you know this is a guy who is going early third for for a lot of like the the pre free agency best ball drafts and you know kind of game well comes in he's all well and good but I feel like he had his best year last year I just don't think that it should have cost Bucky Irving like a round in a half or so of a draft slot right and I was low on not low I didn't want to pay the second round price for Bucky Irving last year but it was never because I doubted him from scrimmage or with the football you know it's it's one of those things I was too low on Bucky Irving as a prospect because I I thought his poor athletic testing would

20:52be a bigger hingents than it's been but he was always really productive at Oregon and Minnesota he always looked impressive you know even in addition to the the numbers being obviously good at a glance so when Bucky Irving was explosive and effective his rookie year I think he was clear enough at that point that I especially I never thought he would be bad due to his athletic testing I still overemphasized the athletic I took to seriously the poor athletic testing especially in the face of how good his production and tape was otherwise the main concern either way that I had was to do with the volume it wasn't so much that I thought oh this guy can't advance the football I thought Bucky Irving clearly could advance the football I think you know his his processing and just yeah it's mainly the processing it's like he I don't know if he just guesses right a lot or really does no better where to go but he runs as hard as he can you know in a straight line at at a certain spot and he just he finds a spot to work with and moves forward and even if he's not

21:56that explosive he's not that fast he has the ability to do that but if you're 195 pounds and you run as rugged as Irving does and he runs fearlessly you're gonna take some hits and you're not really built to take to to you know dish out the worst of it so I was worried that Bucky Irving would not be able to withstand the volume that they put on him in the second half of his rookie year and that second round valuation was assuming I think oh he's just he's gonna get like 290 carries and 75 caches or something that will break him I think we saw that happen last year but if you go to the happy medium of giving Irving more like 14 carries a game and four catches he just might last the whole year and that level of a workload would easily clear and not just the fours round I think even the third maybe even for all I know the second but in the fourth I feel like Bucky Irving is one of the easiest picks to make right now I think so too I was surprised to see him hit like drop off quite as like precipitously as he has so you know with with his drop we've seen I mean

23:02Travis ETN going 3.7 in this draft is also probably a little bit of a decent value there but talked to me a little bit about Dave and Montgomery going in the in the middle of the fourth actually in front of Bucky Irving just a little bit that might be a bit of an aberration like something that you're not going to see in most drafts but still notable that that you know he was viable in that drafters mind in the middle of the fourth ahead of someone like Irving. Yeah it's a fair pick to make I think whoever took Montgomery in your draft is a little bit getting a jump on the ADP the public ADP which I mean to say it's it's going to shift from what it was Dave and Montgomery was generally going in the sixth round I want to say even after he went to the Texans and this person who drafted in the fourth could correctly be figuring that other people are going to reach the same conclusion as them and I kind of agree because as much as I

24:04worry about a guy like Montgomery kind of spraining a shoulder or something with how rugged he runs especially over big volume which he hasn't had since he was with the Bears I worry about that but the the Texans offense pretty clearly wants to put a lot of weight on the running back and it's not going to be woody marks I'm sorry I mean he's he might be an okay backup or something but if Dave and Montgomery can play he's just on the field and you don't even really need to believe the Texans are particularly good at that point if you're assuming what I am about David Montgomery and the workload share that he'll have in Houston this year you don't really need to believe that Montgomery's good you don't need to believe the Houston offense is good in the fourth round maybe you do start need to believe those things but I think they also might be true how does Houston find this guy like a couple times or like you know Damien Pierce a couple years ago like he sure he wasn't good but he was useful in fantasy right and and like you know woody marks like same deal where like he's useful as as a rookie but like his utility gets kind of like nerfed almost almost

25:10immediately you know with Montgomery coming in the same way that you know Pierce you could argue with was it like Devon Devon Singletary first and then and then then Joe Nixon's number so yeah I think that was the order of opera the end of the Texans rebuild was it was a very bleak time obviously so like Pierce was like the only like semi useful guy from there but interesting that they like they have like a type and like that is the the type but they had a they had a good version of it with Dominic Davis back in the day LSU deep cut I have peppered Tom and switch his name too yeah he wasn't half bad let's see any other he doesn't have to be from this particular draft board but you know in your recent drafting experience you know who are some guys that you felt like the market is a little bit too cool on or a little bit over their skis on yeah I probably won't surprise you that I'm kind of rookie minded at the moments kind of obsessing about the draft

26:16and everything I think there are a couple guys that are going a little a little high for my taste and granted this this could seem like me just doing a sour grapes bit because I've kind of been fading these guys the entire time but I actually I actually mean to do a slight retraction on the one which is Casey concepts young like I thought this is this is bad this is probably just like another Oz Zahir Hakeem kind of thing but he being 6 foot 196 might be pretty good it's just I still don't I don't agree with what I see sometimes which is Casey concepts young going ahead of even guys like Jaden Higgins Jalen Koker Josh Downs players that that I think have shown like you need to be quite good to be better than us and there's also room for upside with each of those guys I think Higgins especially is like you see him fall to like sometimes like the 11th round 12th round I want to say and I think that's a mega buy at that point but even more so maybe I'd

27:17so I say even more so because I do think concept young will be pretty good I don't I don't worry about him being useless or anything and not that I worry about this other rookie receiver being useless either but I do think the hype is way too loud for Omar Cooper at this point and I can't tell how much of it is sort of just the incidental group thing that always happens with NFL draft media on the internet and you know the various fantasy sites nowadays with their discord chats all the all the clicky you know herd behavior that you normally see in life see in fantasy media too and I can't tell if that's the main reason that Cooper is getting this hype or if it's more just this draft is kind of boring it's it's actually better than I thought it was a month ago I have to say that especially at the the defensive side of the ball and some of the some of the offensive line type of stuff it's it's really not a terrible draft like I thought it was but it's still not very good at receiver and I can't help but wonder especially when you watch when you watch the highlights of Omar Cooper and they're so entertaining is this another kind of factor that

28:22which I don't consider a very useful one you know I don't I don't I don't grade players based on how fun it is to watch their highlight reel sometimes the funnest highlight reels are the worst players like David Austin's probably the funnest highlight reel to watch Omar Cooper does cool fun stuff you know spin moves and and juking people and stuff and the 442 is way better than I expected I expected and we're like a 458 or something but he's still smallish even at the 6 foot 199 and the 442 is great but if Omar Cooper is so good why did he not produce it all at Indiana until his fourth year there and why in that year was he's still less productive than a Elijah Serrat it's not my opinion that Elijah Serrat was the light receiver won in Indiana and it's you see Cooper going I don't know like 80 picks ahead of Elijah Serrat now and worse yet in my opinion you see Omar Cooper go ahead of some like proven borderline star receiver it's a weird case and branded brand in iUk's instance but I see Cooper usually go ahead of iUk and unless you believe

29:25iUk's not going to play this year which who knows I guess weirder things have happened but unless you believe iUk won't play this year you should not take a rookie who might be vaguely nearly is good over the guy who definitely is right now you know and remember this Omar Cooper never caught a pass against Ohio State granted he left this year's game early with an injury never caught a pass it against Ohio State at Indiana and 24.4% of his receiving production and his Indiana career occurred in three games two games against Indiana State and one against Western Illinois. Ooh that so if you want to you know kind of grade that that production on a curve that those it's okay to beat up on the sick mores but you'd like to to see it show up in other places did have that that the crazy catch against Penn State that had the call of the year from Gus Johnson or I thought the Gus Johnson to just spontaneously combust it in the in the broadcast booth

30:28that was awesome but yes point well taken as far as Omar Cooper went he went just after Joanne Jennings in this class and just ahead of Tyree Kill okay I'll admit you should you should take Cooper over Joanne Jennings that guy's not really going to play this year do you remember when we were talking like he runs a 4-8 he runs a 4-8 and that's that's what happened he got to free agency in there like dude you run a 4-8 what are you giving you to your dealer are you under your mind that's yeah it's uh it's been tougher than that for the guy because he was such a good player he the 49ers basically kind of screwed him you know they used him up tossed him out yeah the Niners are kind of like not not doing right by by their by their guys in a lot of instances like they're they're like holding I you for ransom basically it's like you're not going to get anything in a trade for for Brandon IU right now anyways I guess I got to admit it where Cooper went in your particular draft I'm pretty fun I would I would personally take eight and I Mitchell I'm too tempted by the ridiculous target rate he had last year even if even if it was always a circus

32:40now back to our regularly scheduled programming so this time of year we like to do some deep dives on on on particular offenses and we've got two with kind of injured that are at interesting junctions I think you could say with both the Browns and the Eagles there's some kind of like bombshell reporting that out of Philly yesterday from this ESPN article but we will get started with the Browns but we will deep dive the Eagles as well here for the rest of the show but it seems like Dishon Watson is is now firmly in the mix for a for the starting job with with the Browns obviously there's the the head coaches in front office meeting or something in Arizona this week so Jimmy Haslam had an opportunity to speak to the media and you know basically said you know this could be something that takes the Watson saga from you know what it's been a swing in the mess to a home run is the way that that he framed it a grand slam even I feel like you'd need like

33:49two super balls to to undo the way that that that this particular uh era has gone for for Watson and Cleveland but that's besides the point regardless where you with with Dishon Watson and this Browns offense coming into that this season I'm not exactly getting my hopes up for a quality season from the Browns offense the real question is what prices do the various parts go for and fantasy drafts and is it cheap enough that we can sort of scrape something useful out of it for the price I'm trying to keep an open mind about various things this is a very weird situation all the way through though the Browns the Browns at the top of course you know starting with Haslam weird dubious not really trustworthy or inspiring the munkin hiring process was obviously a mess and did not go the way they intended it to there's there's a very recent recently established

34:53sense of uh discord and like incompetence with the Browns that it could persist it could just be they're they're just gonna stink again and there's just nothing that can be done about it but I would like to think Todd Munkin is more the kind of inadequate head coach who can't get his team to win as opposed to the kind of coach who can't even put together garbage time numbers like I'm hopeful that the Browns can even if they're like a three and 14 team like maybe you know be it to Sean Watson or Shadour Sanders year two maybe they can kind of just give us some good empty calories for the price and a guy like Jerry Judy would be pretty high on that list I haven't drafted him at all but the reason I say he's high on the list is because even at his lowest points in the league Jerry Judy has drawn targets um he could he could have a brutally inefficient year like 6.4 yards per target but if he has something like 130 targets he could have you know he'd be pushing

35:54like a thousand yards and maybe give you a few decent starts be it in Bestball or Redraft um the Sean Watson in Bestball I think is pretty interesting as a quarterback three type I guess we'll see though his his price might go up with this sort of recent chatter about the the chances of him starting before he would I think go and draft it usually right like I took him one time because I was in underdog draft where these these these quarterback vultures uh kind of cornered me into taking Watson as a quarterback three because it was it was one of those deals where like Gino Smith's gone at 126 or something ridiculous so I had to do that uh but if I had to make the same decision some number of rounds earlier I don't know if I would have the courage to do then I might I might have uh I don't know gone with Jacobi for a set or something crazy yeah the the Judy call is interesting uh because if you he look at it the Browns or Jerry Judy would qualify as like the third cheapest wide receiver one right out there um but but it's like he goes pick 160 uh you got

37:02Jalen Nailer going 175 and then you know I don't even believe that that um like I said be Malik Washington of the of the dolphins being to quote unquote wide receiver one at pick 180 eight over on over on underdog so um yeah Judy like yeah it's it this is kind of an interesting look look at it look at it where um you know you have Judkins and and Fanon as your top 100 guys and then like the people are just basically not touching the the Browns but you know you you look at you look at the comparison of like you know you get the wide receiver one in an offense the Todd Monkin offense versus like I don't know like the wide receiver three on the on the lions like that there's only so that'd be like Isaac Tesla I guess like I'd rather just have the the role like I want to draft a better more fantasy relevant role so even if like I feel like the Browns have the worst offense than the Lions which of course they do look you know like the the difference between the first and the 32nd offense and the NFL is is a lot different than like the first it like

38:08the first in the 50th in college you know like that there's not that wide of a spread um usually so I feel like there's still going to be enough requisite production in this Browns offense to where like if Judy is still chilling there as as pick 160 like that's probably actually a good pick to make it again relative to someone like you're drafting wide receiver two or wide receiver three and and better offenses just take the wide receiver one I think yeah I didn't mean to stupidly bury the lead in the cases of Judkins and Fanon but yeah I'm driving a ton of fan and the reason I the reason I kind of skipped them is because I was taking this such a given this is this is a Harold Fanon podcast actually so that's it's like it does barely even needs uh mention that it's always the affirm the always the positive you know the affirmative for whatever the question is about Fanon but yeah Jerry Judy as far as something that we maybe don't expect that the market is not factoring correctly I do think Judy stands out because even if the Browns

39:10take someone like Casey Concepcion with that 25th picker wherever it was that's that's still Judy getting the targets I'm sorry like it needs to be it needs to be something that almost sends Judy to the bench to to dictate that he wouldn't draw targets if Judy gets so much as 600 snaps he's probably pushing for her own 90 targets you know that that's how quickly he can pile up targets and yeah the the current ADP if it's putting him in a similar place as Isaac Tesla that's uh I probably should go draft some uh Jerry Judy is it where but uh yeah I see I see Jamie's message about uh Dishon Watson might not play because of like the contract thing and Shadour Sanders needing evaluation that's those things are true like that that Watson has nothing obviously at stake is true and Shadour the evaluation utility would make sense you know giving him playing time but we don't know what the inch with the uh with the goals of people like Munkin and Haslamar and especially Haslam I think I think you know greasy amoral person like that

40:13has no qualms whatsoever about uh you know no matter how debased it seems they don't care if they think they're just gonna get a little bit of money out of it or a little bit of a even just like a approval from the public so uh I don't think Dishon Watson having a good year for the Browns would mean anyone likes Dishon Watson Haslam yet but uh if you're Munkin you're probably like this is my only chance and it's a crap hand I've been dealt I I don't care if Dishon has the future I just want to get to week six without getting fired yeah yeah it's uh I'm gonna guess that Munkin is not the coach they're going into the 2028 season he's a substitute teacher of the coach for sure I love Todd Munkin but the NFL had coach probably he is not um at least not for for a very good team so that's why he's on the Browns um Jamie also brings up the idea of Omar Cooper as a potential candidate for for the 25th pick I wouldn't like the pick I can't

41:16rule it out it seems like Cooper is gonna go in the first round as much as I don't think it'll age well things happen every year that I don't agree with so um the bills you see Cooper mocked to sometimes I think that's a great way to end up with 300 receiving yards honestly uh the Browns there might be I guess the question is how much how much target slack there is after Judy and I'm assuming Judy stuck there by the way because his contract is actually kind of monstrous uh it's really hard for the Browns to move Jerry Judy and I don't I don't think they can I don't I think there's a pretty close to 0% chance that they can or would so if Judy's on the field even if it's even if it's kind of a crap show and it's only because of his contract he's still drawing targets really fast Harold Fanon's drawing targets really fast the team would ideally not throw the ball that much so I don't know I I think even a guy like Tillman even if he's pretty mediocre is enough to be a bit of a row block to a player like Cooper at least in an offense that is so you know that with a pot with a pie is so small as the Browns I don't think a guy like Cooper

42:19can really stand out you know what's interesting about the the Browns and obviously like we're gonna we're gonna see a different philosophy but like I shouldn't have been throwing it last year either and they were seventh in plot in past play rate some of that's just losing so quickly and uh you know that their offense predictably was just okay it's it's the first quarter let's give Judkins the ball like eight times and hope we can get a first down whoops we didn't so now we just gotta throw we're just three and outing constantly and and you know our win probability is that less than two beginning you know like like the games 15th minute I think that will air toward like a more you know just regress toward a sort of median kind of place uh last year was pretty weird for the Browns but uh yeah it's it's gonna be ugly whatever way it is they still have to do some offensive line rebuilding and like getting tight as Howard I guess is a start but uh there's a lot of moving parts the whole offensive line is gonna be different that's concern uh even if it's like

43:23even if it's talent upgrades the offensive line might take some time to work together correctly so yeah I just uh I think it's it's gonna be a pretty small pie there and outside of the obvious cases like Fanon and uh Judkins guys like watch Watson and Judy are price dependent but could still make sense up to a points uh but yeah I will say this on Judy he does not want to do a Sanders to play uh because like he did he's not late completely okay they they did not they don't like each other dude you can see it like they like Judy was get you can see Judy was was it was like you are a you are not just making the play wrong you are making my life miserable you know like you were a you were you were a thorn in my existence oh speaking of um you know really healthy quarterback receiver relationships let's let's kick it on over to it to talk about the about the Eagles uh that was pretty good it is good it's uh it's uh it's all good stuff too it's it's uh I mean I'm sorry everybody's heard a lot about it the jail and hurt stuff it's largely the same things we've heard

44:27for years and have even suggested our a lot of people have been able to tell from afar is like just seems like Hertz isn't running the offense just seems like AJ Brown's mad at Hertz for refusing to run the offense turns out that's kind of what's been going on yep so that yeah more anonymous uh quotes coming out of of Philly it's and we were talking a little bit uh before the show Mario and you made it like an interesting characterization about like what makes yesterday's story different than the others and it feels like there is like a frustration boiling point happening and you know like there there's never been more almost like certainty that AJ Brown's going to be dealt or something or like that something has to give here and the idea that you know what if instead of it's AJ Brown on the move what if it were jailiners yeah so I was I was kind of just you know throwing something at the wall not watching what what where I'm throwing it or taking care of these if I mischaracterized oh no I just I meant I I meant it in a little bit of a

45:33way but it was one of those things that I I wasn't serious when I threw it and I wasn't told you know had a chance to look at it on the wall I was like maybe I don't know maybe there's something there but it's it's a very narrow path for the scenario and it would I think it would require Hertz to be traded I don't think there's any way that the Eagles can they I'm not sure they literally can cut him but how funny would it be if something really wacky happened and I think this would be a classic case of how he finds his sucker you know yet again but if something wacky happened like where is it is it 14th pick or something that they have if the Ravens have 14 oh sorry yes so whatever the Eagles are 21 or something like that 24 if they went to the Cardinals for instance and said we'll give you pick 23 and Jalen Hertz if you eat 30 million dollars this year

46:37and give us the third pick you know what what do you think the Cardinals say no in this era of stupid quarterback dorks running absolutely everything do you have confidence that the Arizona GM would turn that down with how they'd be able to spin it to the press like we got a franchise quarterback and we kept our first round we and we got a first round pick who who how often do you hear of that and it it wouldn't work but it would be kind of funny and I think if the Eagles completely had their way if there weren't cap ramifications blocking certain scenarios I think it's totally obvious they'd rather have AJ Brown than Jalen Hertz I don't think there's a serious question at all about that nope I don't either it does feel like that there's yeah Hertz is becoming this really interesting figure in NFL history and someone brought it up or made this comparison on on Twitter yesterday where it's like he's just like hurtling towards like the Russell Wilson

47:38like career career arc where it's like oh he's he should get a shot you know this is ridiculous you you know like that some other jokers are getting drafted ahead of him like he should get a shot over those guys oh he got a shot oh he's doing pretty good with it oh my god he won the super bowl wait a second maybe he wasn't the entire reason why they won the super even though in Hertz's case like he was nasty in that super all like that you can never take away from him there's generally that Hertz is really good at it's just like the other things are are big problems but but yeah it's it's it's a thing where I think you see a sort of temperament and personality change with him Russell Wilson was just this corn ball the whole time who who sort of was just a really good football player and and kind of had enough sense to kind of be relatively quiet but then when he went to Denver he felt the need to be like a tick tock star in addition to everything else and he was trying to have this public presence that was just super embarrassing but it was only embarrassing I

49:45approach the the Eagles like in drafts like it how realistic do you think it is that that there's movement here whether it is AJ Brown or or Jalen Hertz I think it's one of the two I guess this the sort of if you can call it smart money would be on AJ Brown just because it's pretty much only I get I got a check to see if the Cardinals have any cap space actually the I guess they have a good amount of capsis it's pretty much only the Cardinals are some weird scenario like that where the Eagles could move Hertz because they can't cut them they need another team to take a bunch of the cap hit and there's only a few teams maybe only the Cardinals dumb enough to fall for a trap like that they do the Titans with the no I won't let them I'll tell them they can't do it if they try to do that yeah maybe I don't know maybe there's something with like the Jets maybe the Jets are dumb enough I guess that'd be kind of funny too that'd be a little bit of a Jets kind of thing

50:46to do yeah Jets and Cardinals let's say if the Jets and Cardinals do not somehow trade for Jalen Hertz then Hertz is probably like almost certainly staying in Philadelphia and I just don't think AJ Brown's willing to do that again so if Jalen Hertz does not get traded to the Jets or the Cardinals and a trade up to the second or third pick then I think they keep Hertz and trade AJ Brown to either the Patriots or charges for a second round pick and in that case I guess yeah I don't just say I'm not picking Hertz I'm picking AJ Brown though I'm trying to get some I'm trying to get more AJ Brown now like I'm I'm assuming as well that that he's not on the on the Eagles or at least Jalen Hertz isn't his quarterback this year so I'm trying to mix in some more AJ Brown I drafted him last night with my third pick and you know sort of wish-casting I grabbed Drake May just assuming that I just had made myself a nifty little Patriots stack and then you know once you sorry I was just
