Race Across the World: Six Teams, One Epic Journey

About this episode

Race Across the World returns for its sixth series on BBC One, featuring five teams embarking on a grueling 12,000-kilometer journey from Palermo, Sicily to Hatgal, Mongolia. With limited resources and no flights or fancy rides, teams must navigate through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia. The winning team takes home £20,000. This season includes a spin-off podcast, Race Across the World: The Detour, hosted by Tyler West, featuring winner Alfie sharing tips and insights. Previous seasons have led to life-changing experiences, such as retired teachers exploring Antarctica and Patagonia, and a healed family rift.

On April 2nd tonight, race across the world drops his six theories on BBC One at APM, with five teams tackling the toughest route yet over, 12,000 kilometers from Palermo and Sicily to remote HatGal on Lake Hoppskull in northern Mongolia. No phones, no flights, no fancy rides or hotels, just under 26 pounds per person per day to race through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Georgia. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Mongolia across eight episodes, first across wins 20,000 pounds. Teens include best friends, Joe and Kush, siblings Katie and Harrison, father and daughter Molly and Andrew, cousins Pooja and Roshny, plus in-laws Mark. And Margo a 66-year-old retired architect and 59-year-old hypnotherapist who've turned family friction into teamwork after loss. These races change lives. Like season 1's Tony and Elaine Teesdale, retired teachers now hitting Antarctica, Patagonia, everywhere, ditching planned,

trips for pure adventure. Season 2 winners, I'm on a nephew Jamil healed a decade-long rift, sparked Emma's charity drive raising over 100,000 pounds even, mending ties with his late dad. Later winners kept the momentum, season 3's Trisha, with sight loss, switched from banking to advocacy at R&IB in Globe Trotted, the Grey Wall, and Inka Trail. Season 4 pals Alfie and Owen built content empires with Alfie launching travel communities and hitting 30 countries. Sadly, season 2's Sam Gardner passed in a car crash last May. Now, spin-off podcasts race across the world, the detour launches weekly on iPlayer and sounds right after episodes, hosted by Tyler West swapping in. For Scott Mills, with winner Alfie sharing hacks alongside influencers and celebs, real journeys, real bonds, series six, starts transforming more lives tonight.
