These direct flights are special repatriation runs, set up because of airspace shutdowns in the Middle East from the ongoing conflict. Normally, passengers connect through Doha, but Qatar Airways has cancelled those routes to Manchester for now. Travelers shared relief after weeks of uncertainty. One couple from Coventry, re-routed by their tour operator, Tui, described a smooth but delayed takeoff from Thailand due to a minor fix. Most seats in the economy filled up, while premium cabin stayed mostly empty, and some folks paid around 500 pounds for spots. One enthusiast turned out in force for the Rare A380 landing, something usually only seen on Emirates flights from Dubai.
