1:05my wife's dog, D.A. and Lord only knows what he's barking at. It could be a chair. It could be the moon. It could be absolutely nothing. So I don't know what's going on with him. So if you're hearing, I'm sorry. As you all know, as parents or grandparents, you just get too tired to correct them. I mean, you really do. You've been doing it your whole life. You just let them do what they want to do. So the 17th, which is two days away from my mom's birthday, which is also Tim Scott's birthday. So with that somewhat elongated introduction, Mary Langston, how are you? No complaints here and happy birthday to your mom and Tim as well. And your dog that is barking is adorable. So totally fine. I didn't even hear him. No, I don't know if others did. I could hear, I can hear him. And if I can hear him, then that means the whole world can hear him.

2:06Yeah, he is cute, but sometimes being cute, people feel like they can get away with things. So he falls into that category, but he's a lovable little thing. All right, I'm sure I didn't get any questions about canines. Well, hopefully they are to come in the future, but not today, unfortunately. But we do have some great questions. You ready to get started? I hope so, I think so. All right, let's do it. First up, we have a question from Sarah from Maine, who writes, should we worry about AI and what's going on? You know, Sarah, I'm probably not the right person to ask because I would tell you not to worry about anything because worry and done hell and it's not good for you. I'm assuming you mean AI as a technology and not the data centers. And if I'm wrong about that, let me know because those are, they're interrelated for sure, but they're separate issues.

3:07I will take the question as it, with its plain statutory meaning, AI is here. It's not going away in the right hands. It helps doctors. It helps educate tours. It solves math problems that are plagued, really smart people since, well, forever. In the wrong hands, it can recap it with your electricity, your gas line, your financial institutions. There is tremendous competition right now because AI can be either forced for good or forced for evil. But if you think about it, Sarah, almost all technology is like that. It's benign is what we do with that technology that determines the virtue. So this is not a realm where we can let the free market kind of act as it will, even though ordinarily, that's what I'm in favor of.

4:09There's just too much at stake. So there really should be some kind of regulation or monitoring. And for folks who disagree with me, I would just make this analogy. Folks do have the right to keep in bear arms. You do not have the right to possess a tank. You don't have the right to possess a fighter jet. And you certainly don't have the right to possess a nuclear weapon. There are different forms of AI that someone preferably are elected officials, have to decide where the lines are. Government itself has got to keep competing because of the military and economic consequences and they are vast if we lose this race. And the other analogy I would give you is would we be okay if Germany or Japan or Italy had developed the atomic bomb in World War II before we did?

5:09I don't think so. This is probably our modern day version of the Manhattan Project. And whoever wins it and right now the race would be between China and the United States is going to have a decided advantage, militarily, economically, financially, etc. Now AI in the hands of John Rackliffe at CIA or whoever is running the Department of Defense or filling the blank, that's one thing. AI in the hands of gangs, there are already so many sophisticated frauds out there. Do we really want artificial intelligence coming up with even more sophisticated frauds to beat people out of their retirement, their savings, their income? No, no. So there has to be, there have to be chordrails on the high end AI.

6:12If you want to ask CHAT GPT or ask Rack or whoever it is, you know, what kind of putter this dinting McCarthy use, that's fine. I mean, the internet can probably answer that also. I honestly don't use a ton of AI. My wife will tell you I argue with it because I find that it is wrong about, I don't say many things, but some things, it's wrong. So I enjoy arguing with people and I don't think AI is a person. I don't know. Because freaky, I mean, having, having like an interview with an AI person, I, I, people are in like relationships with AI people. I've seen folks who didn't have a ton of personality and I thought they were robotic, but they weren't robots. So I, no, you should not worry about that or anything else.

7:16Fix it, resolve it, work on it, but do not worry about it. Well, so, Tray and thank you for that question, Sarah. We'll answer more of your questions when we come back. 8:17watching that I should pay attention to? Well, Larry, you probably shouldn't follow my advice on anything, but I'm happy to tell you what I'm watching. I mean, obviously, Dorleyn, Greg M. and South Carolina, Alan Wilson, Alan's been a friend for a long, long time. And Dorleyn's late brother obviously was a friend and she is now. Well, she's been also, but she's now my senator. And there are some really provocative candidates nationally on both sides. Some are provocative because of their political beliefs. I mean, there are some beliefs that I never, ever thought would be platformed, would be mainstreamed, or would be nominated. Having said that, there are also some people who have said or written awful things about women, minorities. There are, in my opinion, some truly awful candidates running on both sides.

9:18And I am curious where our fellow citizens draw the line. I mean, I hear it all the time. I don't like the way XYZ acts, but I like her or his policies. And my response is always the same. You should not have to choose. You should have leaders who vote, act, and talk the right way. I'm watching Texas. I think John Cornyn would have won the general election easily. I don't know about Kim Paxton. I'm watching the Senate in general. If the GOP loses the Senate, no more judges, no more US attorneys, good luck filling cabinet openings because you won't. Certainly, no Supreme Court justices. The House, not that anybody wants to lose it if they're on the Republican side. I mean, Democrats obviously want to retake it. But if Republicans don't want to lose the House, losing the Senate, because of what I

10:18just laid out with the confirmation process, I think is an even bigger deal. Alaska, I'm watching. I turned out to be a pretty dirty trick, running a candidate with the same name as the incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan. I mean, look, how do you get a public approval rating somewhere between, you know, bubonic plague and cockroaches? I mean, how do you get a public approval somewhere in that realm by doing things like that? I'm watching Ohio. That's a traditionally red state. You got a Senate and a Senate or your Anguina Torio race, Georgia. I don't know. I mean, I think Brian Camp would have won going away, but I certainly understand why he didn't want to run. There are a lot of there. A whole bunch of good people who don't want to run politics anymore.

11:18North Carolina, I'm watching Maine. I am watching Michigan, obviously your home state, Texas Larry, which is a state I love very much. For the happiest years of my life or my sophomore year, they learn university. So yes, I'm watching them all, but not like I used to, but I'm watching them all. Well, thank you, Tray for that. Thank you, Larry, for your question. We'll finish up with Laurie all the way from California, who writes, I don't believe that golfers that join live should be penalized for joining or coming back to the USGA. Did they commit a crime or act unethically? Well before I get to that, I did not hear any response from you when I said for the happiest years of my life or my life. I laughed, but not loud. I did not hear you laugh. So do you believe that it took me four years to become a junior in college? No, it might have taken me that long, though.

12:22But you acted as if it was entirely plausible that those were the four happiest years of my life. No, I just tried not to laugh, so it would take away from you. You're talking. Oh, we're going with that. Excuse. Yes. Wow. But I did not believe that. I hope you don't ever go to a comedy club. The poor comedian or comedian doesn't stand a chance. Well, I didn't want to laugh because I didn't want to interrupt you. I mean, while they're on some psychiatrist couch getting therapy because nobody laughs at their jokes. How are we going to have about that? Laurie from the beautiful city, California, which I just came back from. I do appreciate your passion and love for the game of golf and I share both. The USDA is different from the PGA tour. So while I heard or maybe I misheard, but I think I heard USDA, I think probably what

13:25you meant was the PGA. Yes. It does the USDA, though. Yeah. The USDA runs primarily amateur events in the US open. The Masters of course runs its own show. I guess the National, the Open Championship is controlled by the Royal and Ancient Golf Association, whatever they call themselves as for the PGA tour. PGA tour itself, which is separate from the USDA and live golfers. I agree that there was no crime committed, but there were definitely rules violated. If you're a member of the PGA tour, you cannot play in competing tournaments without permission, period. And you knew and you know that. You knew that and you know that. No permission was given. In fact, they were warned not to do it. They were told you cannot do this. The guys that left for live and I know one guy in particular, there was offered a ton of

14:30money to go to live and said, no, I don't know Scotty Schifler. I don't know Patrick Canley. I don't know Ricky Fowler. I know some PGA players, but I don't know like big names like that. Lord only knows how much money those guys were offered to leave the PGA tour and join a competing tour. So the live golfers took the money and started a whole separate tour. It would be like someone leaving a law firm or a business starting their own law firm or business and then when their law firm or business failed, expect to come back without consequence. I cannot think of any facet of life with that is true. So some live golfers were offered a path back. Brooks Capka took it. Others did not.

15:30Some live golfers quite honestly are not good enough to play on the PGA tour anymore. I mean, they were once really good golfers. They would not crack the top 125. And there are I think I could be wrong about this plus or minus five, but I think there were 125 slots on the PGA tour. I should have asked Kizner. Kevin Kizner was on the Sunday night show. We were talking about the live golfers Sunday night. I want to watch Cam Smith, but I want to watch Bryson D. Shambot and John Rom play. I want it is not personal. I want to watch them play. But those guys voluntarily gave up on the PGA tour because they wanted more money and they want what they thought was a better lifestyle and play less tournament rounds and play in shorts and listen to loud music. And unfortunately for them, their idea ran out of money.

16:32Now they could have been multi millionaires on the PGA tour. Instead they wanted to be tens or hundreds of millionaires and start a new tour with different rules and they bet wrong. So Schaeffler, Cantlay, Senator Schaffley, Ricky Fowler, Kevin Kizner, Livick Oberg, they all said no. So they lost out on lots of money by keeping their word. I cannot see the PGA tour acting as if everything is fine. When guys knowingly, woefully and wantily violated the rules of the PGA tour, resigned their memberships. They resigned. They sued and competed against the PGA tour. And now that their experiment failed, they want to come back. I would be a path back with punishment and consequences for some maybe for others.

17:39They would not qualify to get on the PGA tour. There are certain number of guys that are exempt. And then you got to go to what's called Q school. And there are some heartbreaking stories at Q school. I mean, really, really good golfers, amazing golfers that come within one stroke of getting their tour card. And they miss a short pot where they blow up on 18. It's used to be like a five round tournament. So you have to work to be on the PGA tour. You don't just like they don't just pick you because you had a good college career, although that that is a path to the PGA tour. They do have something now where I think the top maybe 10 college golfers can get a chance. But these tournaments have a limited number of spots. So why in the world would you give a PGA tournament slot to someone who left the tour, competed

18:43against it as opposed to someone who kept his word and stuck around? I just I don't see it happening. Well said, that was great having Kevin on Sunday as well. I'm sure this question kind of came after that. And thank you for that question. Yeah, I'm not going to talk about like personal conversations I've had with Kevin, but hypothetically, you know, Kisner wants some really big events. And well, I'll let him talk about his own interactions with live, but it would not surprise me. How about we just say that it would not surprise me if live offered Kevin a lot of money. Wow. And Lord only knows what they offered Scottish Eiffel Tower or Rory McElroy and those guys or Tiger Woods and those guys said no. Because the tour which Arnold Palmer helped popularize and then Jack Nicholas and then

19:50Tiger Woods took it to another stratosphere. And then Mikkelson just had this idea that they should make even more money. Maybe he ought to try gambling less. Think about all the money that guys made on and off the golf course in his career and it's not enough. Wow. It's not enough. Quit betting on the ponies. So I look on this game Smith. He's one of the best putters in the world. I'm this John Rom. I love the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup because he could watch those guys, but they knew all of that and they still left. And you know, some people look, I am glad that there are people that are forgiving enough to let someone back after a series of grievances and broken promises. I am glad. I really truly am glad that there are people that are that compassionate. I'm just not one of them. And I bet the PGA commissioner is not either.

20:52You probably are. It's a good thing that you and Terry are not running the tour because you all would let everybody back. That's true. Until it don't own you that you're actually hurting the 121st best player in the world who's losing its tour card, even though he did nothing wrong. And all the people that could have joined it. So I wish we could go back in time. I wish the live had never happened. But it did. And they got rich. I'm not even sure Bryson wants to play on the PGA tour. He may want to do stuff on YouTube. There are a lot of ways to make a live and hit a little white golf ball. I think with Shephler and those guys, it's the history of the game. And I can't see them doing anything golf as a game of tradition and history and honor. I mean, my gosh. It's one of the few sports that you call penalties on yourself.

21:56It's not loud blaring music, playing in shorts. I mean, that's fine if people want to do it, but that's not the PGA tour. I'll get off my sandbox. I sound like an old man because I am a old man. No, you're not. There's a lot of people that are upset about it. You're not alone. I'm not mad at them. I'm disappointed. Yeah. There's a difference. I just... That's almost worse. It is worse because I expected more. Right. Nicholson probably not. I used to be a huge film. Nicholson fan. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. But Ludwig Oberg. I mean, speaking of AI, the first question was about AI. You asked Kizner. Will we ever see AI in golf? You know what his answer is? already have it is Ludwig Oberg. That guy's swing looks like it was created by AI. It is flawless.

23:02I'm sure they would have given anything to have Ludwig Oberg who's a European played college in the US to join that startup little tour called Live. And he said no. So he lost on money, but he kept his word. I just I do not see us acting as if that did not happen. But there I go again repeating myself, which is something else that older people do. So I'm doing missy if I can find my medicine and my glasses. And I will have the triple crown. What's your glasses in your mouth? Those people do. I still have my teeth for most part. I think I don't know. I can't remember. That's another thing happens when you get older. I think I have one. I can't remember. You're silly. You were highlighting something important though keeping your word. And so that's important. And that was a great question. So you got it at the end of the day. So you got I do love the question. And I share her passion and I share her frustration. I miss seeing

24:08those guys compete. I wish the whole thing had not happened. And now they have to move forward somehow. I guess they'll figure it out. You know, kept get paid to find and came back. That's true. Cam Smith. There's a path back or was Bryson's E. Shembo. But they ran out of money. Saudis. I mean, they didn't get to television contract. How are you going to make money if you're on TV? So I don't know. I'm going to think happy thoughts about golf. The tradition and the courses that you're about to play. I got not only the courses. I've gotten to play this year. Very the most beautiful courses in the world. Cyprus. Augusta is coming up in Pine Valley. And the people that you get to play with. That's even better. That is even more important. It's the people that I get to play it with. Those are absolutely gorgeous venues. But it is the

25:14people that you get to experience it with. And the tradition and knowing that lots and lots of people walk those same grounds before you did. And thankfully that tradition lives on even though live is gone. Yes. The PGA tour is stronger than it's ever been and live as bankrupt. Yes. All right. Well, on that happy note.
