Purdue Boilermakers Advance to Sweet Sixteen

Bull teams brought their A-games to St. Louis, but Purdue pulled ahead in a tight battle decided by sharp shooting and clutch play from their guards. CJ Cox sparked the first half, draining three straight three-pointers in just over a minute to rally Purdue from a seven-point deficit and nearly tie. The score at half-time, Miami held a slim two-point lead at the break, 40-38, thanks to a last-second layup. Cox went down with the knee injury early in the second half and didn't return, putting pressure on the rest of the team. Senior Fletcher lawyer stepped up big, scoring all 14 of his second half points efficiently, finishing with 24 on six of seven shooting. Four of four from deep and a perfect eight of eight at the line. Purdue dominated from beyond the arc overall, hitting eight of 14 for 57%, while limiting Miami to just one three on 11, tries after the break.
