Welcome to this episode of the Brioche O'oddcast. I am the delicious, Nicholasious Rob Dog here. We already recorded the episode. We did a very special episode with our friend Rachel from Ravelight. Quantam healing she talked about everything from plant medicine to just being a curator on these trips. We talked about smoking some crystals from toad glands. They went to some strange places, but it went to some really enlightening positive places as well. So I'm very excited to present this episode to you guys. As always, you guys can reach out with anyone that comes on for an interview. She has her information. So if you guys want to get in contact with Rachel, if you're looking to do any type of she does life coaching, plant medicine facilitating, not in medicine like plant medicine facilitating

breath work massage therapy does it all. So she leaves all of her information there at the end of the episode. But enough with me talking and bumbling on here is a quick break for a few of our sponsors and then Rachel. This week at Vons and Albertsons, USDA Choice Tri-Tip Rost untrimmed are 599 per pound. She's a quantum healing practitioner and spiritual alchemist whose work includes massage therapy, breath work, sound healing, energy medicine, life coaching, and plant medicine integration. Rachel is and I mean this she is genuinely one of the warmest most positive people I've ever had the opportunity to meet in person. She's here to help us understand a world that Rob and I know zilch about and we're going to we're going to talk uh alternative healing altered states of consciousness, psychedelic experiences, what people hope to gain from them and what happens when a trip maybe goes sideways and probably a few other things that um our bro Hyal listeners would would love to hear about. So Rachel welcome to the show. Thank you Nick. Thank you Rob and

hello bro hyo ends. Oh do we have names for him? Uh not that we say out loud. Uh oh yeah. Bro Hyo Nate I think usually we're like bro Hyo nation. That's yeah. Bro Hyo I to bro Hyo heavians or uh I think there's some there's a small cell of women that call themselves the ho highos. I think there's only two or three of them but uh thank you Rachel it really means a lot that you are sharing this uh this time with us and this is something that you and I like the first time I met you I'm like I gotta get her in the show she's got a lot to talk about. Yeah and uh it's just something that I have no clue about any of this stuff. Yeah I like I like talking about the things that I don't know about and learning is putting a little bit of knowledge in this brain that's kind of uh deflated and you know like an old bike tire. Now I really feel like they're just a common person has just a whole lot of untapped like mental just heightened levels

of mental awareness and just capacity. Is that something uh is that something you subscribe to as well Rachel? Well can you reframe that I'm not sure what you mean? Yeah so I think just day to day it's like eat work sleep, eat work sleep, you just kind of go through the motions and I feel like there's there's a more like expansive universe when it comes to your mind that we're just like an untapped I don't know. I feel like we just don't use all of our mental capacity and I don't know if maybe you kind of feel the same way. Yeah I hear you and I think you know the term mainstream is effective because we're mostly living a very material existence. What we see, what we touch and the immediate you know physical world around us is very much our experience and sometimes people are open to a more expansive way of thinking or tapped into something that

some people would call spiritual however that does not necessarily connotate religious spirit is that which is you cannot fee. It relates to the the source of energy that's all around us and so people have experiences but they don't always have a framework to put it in. So when you go outside and you feel the sun that when you feel the sun on your skin that's a that's a physical experience but it's something very um ethereal as well. Okay. How you feel while that's happening gives you another level of experience and oftentimes we're so distracted from that other worldly experiences that we don't necessarily have the um framework to put it in. And that does make a lot earlier this week I was kind of just I was just going through to work. I was kind of it was a lot at the moment and I said you know what I'm going to go stand outside and just let the sun beat on my face for about three minutes. Yeah. And it was really refreshing. It felt it felt good. It

felt I put me in a better place and it was nothing at all. I just stepping outside and letting the sun hit my face for three and just taking some deep breaths and I felt repaired for the for the for the time being. So I do think there is I do feel like there's a lot of substance to that and I'm glad to I'm glad we get to dig further into this and I did send you some questions but I'm going to have some curve balls for you. But yeah, right. Okay. For the first question. Nothing too crazy. But for our first question. What is a quantum healing practitioner and spiritual alchemist? If you had to explain it to two two dumb dads sitting in the basement. How would you explain it? Yeah. Yeah. You know, this is your good words and I'm kind of like a I say I'm an intellectual want to be I like words. I'm always fascinated by you know how words represent our experience. And I mean, I chose those words because they bed the questions and the questions are what lead us to something bigger. So in my mind,

you know, scientifically in terms of physics, which physics and science really draw my attention, you know, quantum refers to the smallest quantity of something. It's the radiant energy or like the fundamental unit of energy. So we can use it in that sense that we're getting to something more primal, something more intense, even though small. And then I like to use the term as an adjective where it means like this sudden or significant experience. So when I play it to what I do, it's getting to the fundamental part of a person in order to create that sudden or significant shift. And that can feel big or that can feel subtle, but usually it's like this. It's a minor change that then waves like a small drop in a pond will will send those rings of energy out. So quantum quantum works in that way. Okay. And I say spiritual alchemist because

like I mentioned before, spiritual refers to that, which is unseen. So it's our feelings, our thoughts and our experience, even down to a mysterious force that science can even quite put its finger on. And then alchemy really is about transformation. And the highest form of transformation is what's done from the inside out. So, you know, in some lineages of alchemy, you know, you hear about scientists turning iron into gold. But internally in a person, it's turning something that is dissatisfying or what is causing dis-ease. You can turn it into something that promotes your personal growth or healing, healing is a word that I would say isn't the same as curing. It's touching on something that is pure within yourself. You can turn maybe, you know, I like what Jaco Willings talks about when he talks about changing something that's really challenging

into an opportunity. So instead of saying like, oh, the truck broke down, oh shit, you know, it's like, no, good, the truck broke down. Now we're going to learn how to fix it. That's alchemy in a simple way. That's a, I need to fix my eye because like when my car breaks down, I get so mad. I get, I just, I need to, I need to look at it like, you know what, I get the chance to work on this hunk of shit. I need to change my change. That's a, that's a good outlook. You guys, it'll be very difficult for me to think along that brain of thought. I think it though as a dad, who's kind of my job to always be upset and cuss about everything, even if, you know, even when just a small one, you could have the answers like, my life fucking sucks. Why it's one thing after another. Yeah, and I got it. I think in that, that, I think that's something the Rachel can help us out with because I'm, I'm super interested in, um, in the spirituality portion of, of what you do because as someone who's, I've always been intrigued by, um, people that say they're spiritual.

I'm not on the religious front whatsoever. But typically, I know growing up, it was always like, I kind of saw those two things as one and the same. Um, but now, now I think that, you know, getting in touch with, with spirituality is something that may not be a bad thing or maybe something that seems kind of interesting. But like, how would you even go about tapping into that for somebody who's, you know, completely inexperienced? Yeah, and that's a great point to make, I think most people associate spirituality with religion or even with belief. But it's not really necessarily that, even though that is an application of spirituality. And what I would guide someone to consider who's interested in that is to say, again, that spirituality is something that we sense

and feel. So for example, tapping into your spirit and into your own personal spirituality is when you get kind of still with yourself, Nick, it's like what you mentioned about having this intuitive hit. The intuition is the spirit. So when you have that intuitive hit to go sit in the sun for a minute and just to feel that on your face, there's something about that that is transformative. And it just feels good. The light feels good. It feels nourishing and it is actually. And, you know, when you sit and you do that and you listen to your heart say, take a few deep breaths and come back to some center with your attention, all of these distractions. And, you know, in a moment, you might reconsider, you know, who do I want to be right now? Who do I want to be? Do I want to be stressed out? Do I want to be upset? Do I want to be angry? That doesn't really feel good. It's changing how I feel inside. You know, that spirit is what guides

you to something that is seeking freedom, joy, love, it's seeking adventure, the unknown, the sort of magical experience or even the scientific cause-effect experience of what is possible inside of me. That's how I would describe spirituality. And then you can apply that as you go, you know, if you're conducting the experiment of being human, which is exactly what you're doing, you might try different things on for size. How does this feel? How does this work? And the things that tend to work for you and promote what you're trying to achieve in your life are the things that you might be able to call spiritual. Okay. It could be very much as simple as going somewhere, empty in your mind of, you know, your thoughts and just getting, you know, in touch with with earth and with your feet, like what you're feeling around you, just essentially just like

letting all the negative stuff that's you typically build up on yourself, just kind of just letting it go and finding some, finding some peace and some, the tranquility in that. Yeah, for sure. And it could be very applicable to your personal life. So, you know, you might have a really special grounded, intentionally created moment with your partner that's very loving. I mean, if you've ever felt the touch of a loving hand on your face, that feels very spiritual. There's a surge of energy that happens or release of oxytocin, the connective energy of love. Like you could say you have a spiritual experience making love or you have a spiritual experience when your child is born, you're just, your mind is blown. It's the mind blowing experience. That's what we call spiritual. I know I'm definitely feeling something when I'm making love. Maybe that's what it is. All kinds of things. Well, I think I feel that my wife does it. She just like,

she was like, get off of me. Did you like my lead in? I brought that up on purpose so you would have a bro, Hi, oh, my. And we bit, we bit hard. I was going to make a joke about like me wanting to kiss Robert on the mouth is spiritual. But then we went with let's test this out. How did now I imagine you probably practiced a lot of this for many years before you started to say, okay, I can help other people. How did that? How did you get into the world? How did you go from just practicing it yourself to in the world of I want to take on, I want people to come to me that I know that I can help them. Yeah, I think it was just kind of a natural unfolding. It wasn't something that I was seeking out to do. It was just something that happened because of my own curiosity. And you know, like when you stumble upon something that's really cool, you're super excited about it. And you want to tell people about it. It just happens. So when I went into my education,

for license massage therapy, that was after two years of college. And I went down the path of medical massage. And an incredible door opened up to me that had not been opened to me before. And that was this world of what people call energy. And I was absolutely blown away by the experiences I was having and the things that I was learning about the mind body connection. How thoughts affect your physiology? Then I had an experience in a raky training and that's something that is all about tapping into this force of life and utilizing it to help people have a more conscientious and touch experience with their own lives. I had an experience of something that was kind of mind boggling of just sensing energy. And when I started to learn about energy, I just went

down every rabbit hole that it led me to from Toltec wisdom and Don Miguel Ruiz to esoteric teachings of the Egyptian lineages to some of the indigenous cultures. I really wanted to know what is behind all of this and what is the truth. And when I started working as a massage therapist and I got really into sports massage, I was working at a sports country club. I did deep tissue massage and connective tissue therapies and a lot of like the more medical approach. But I was able to help people make the associations with how they were using their bodies and holding tension in their bodies. And so I found myself giving this information that I was learning and I just had this insatiable curiosity. So I got more certifications. I kept taking classes. I kept reading books and I kept building my own repertoire, I suppose. And then in an effort to maintain my own health

and wellness, because if you're a licensed massage therapist, you're working your butt off. I'm in a like it is a full body workout all day. So if I'm going to be healthy, I need to learn how to take care of this. So that led me into yoga because in all of my upbringing and in my adult life, I've endeavored to take care of myself in the most natural ways possible. And you know, when you learn how to manage your body, mind, spirit complex, it just becomes another avenue for you to I'll say radiate that energy. Everything is energy. So when you start to radiate it more and more people are drawn to it. It's just cause an effect. And I'm a perfect example of this radiant energy. And because I reached out, I said, I got a Rachel, I got to have you on the show. So yes, the radiant, I was affected by the radiant energy. It is true. And yeah, that's that's all really good. And I think that now we have some

questions about, you know, for everyone, they say drugs are fun. But I'm talking about plant medicine. I'm not talking about drugs. I'm talking about plant medicine. And I will preface this by saying someone mailed me mushrooms once. And I ate them. Whoever that was, mail us some more, please. No, they're still my garage. I ate them. That's probably rotten by now. I don't know. I probably let's find out. No, but I did it without a practitioner or a guide. And then I said, man, these are nothing. And I went to bed. And I went, I turned around a call for the dog. And she had morphed into a stuffed a sparkling shimmering stuffed animal. I'm like mother of God. This is working now. And that was a long night, buddy. I remember you said when you were petting her, it was like the best feeling ever on your fingers. I was sucking on my wife's arm. It was spiritual. Very spiritual. Very spiritual. It was like three o'clock in the morning. I said, I got to suck on my wife's arms. I was sucking on her forearm. And she's like, what the fuck are you

doing? I'm really. Look at me. So that's my experience with, uh, with with plant medicine. But psychedelics and plant medicine, what kinds of substances or experiences do people usually mean when they talk about plant medicine in your world? Yeah. Well, first, man, I asked Rob, have you had an experience with any plant medicines? He's a lightweight. I have not. And I am extremely, this is this topic right here. It interests me a lot to the to the to the we were talking about this at softball the other night. We went out after softballed one of the one of the guys that I play with. He indulges in all of it. And I'm I'm drilling them with questions. I'm like, tell me about this. Tell me about this. But yeah, yeah, enlighten me. Yeah. Um, Nick, what was the question again, please? Just kind of what what kinds of substances or experiences do people usually mean when they talk about plant medicine? For me, like if I had to say, I'd say the three

big ones are like mushrooms, DMT and peyote or kind of like the the jump out in terms of of my brain. I may be missing some things. But kind of would you not consider marijuana? Yeah, I mean, that's the big one right? Yeah, sure, but you kind of dismissed that. But obviously, yeah, obviously, everybody, but I'll toss that to the expert. I'll toss that to you, Rachel. What do you say? So well, first of all, plant medicine is a term that really comes from the indigenous people medicine is anything that is good and helpful. So you can be good medicine. There's plant medicine. The sunlight is medicine. The air is medicine. So when we talk about medicine in that term, you know, plant medicine is referring to the plants that are good and helpful. And mostly in our world, it's referred to the most powerful plants, especially those that cause a shift in consciousness. And so this, you know, there are psychedelics which cause the

shift in consciousness. And then there are mood altering plants like marijuana is considered more mood altering than it is psychedelic or there's Kava, which relaxes the nervous system. There's opium and copca. There's stimulants like coffee. And then if you get into the psychedelic medicines, you're talking about mushrooms, yes, payote, ayahuasca, iboga, bufo. Yeah. So now there's even another term emerging, which is earth medicines, because something like bufo, which comes from the sonoran desert frog, wouldn't be a plant, but it is from the earth. It is a natural medicine. So it's like a delix can really refer to both lab made and nature made psychedelics, whereas plant medicine is going to refer more to those that come directly from nature. Was that one the one where you lick the toad on the back? Is that that one? That one, I don't know about licking the toad, but the

the secretions of the toad are withdrawn by the maistros and then dried and then you actually smoke the crystallized form, which I have done. Okay. I love it. And it is incredible. This is so cool. It is absolutely incredible. Yeah. So, you know, when this is going on that toe oil. Yeah. It is. I love it. And what's amazing about that is that this frog, like the only frog in the world that's producing five MEODMT, secreted into glands, it's who the indigenous people talk about these medicines as they were gifted from spirit, something told these indigenous people to do these things and then these things have led to profound states of realization. And you take this crystalline secretion and when you smoke it, you are, they call it the God

molecule for a reason or they call it the Mount Everest of psychedelics for a reason. You are very quickly blasted into absolute Nirvana and then you come back very quickly and you are fully inhabited in yourself and you're back and you've just had the most profound experience of your life. I don't think I'm going to be able to find this stuff from the streets of downtown. If I get out there like, I need some of that toad oil, they're not going to, they're not going to know what I'm talking about. I'm going to get some of that kermits wet. Be careful what you get. And I just like, and what you said, I think that there would have to be some type of divine intervention or higher power involved to tell someone, you know, that stuff coming out of the toad, that's some good stuff and that's going to take you to a heightened level of reality. I think that's really cool because no one just wakes up like, you know what, let's squeeze this toad and let's get the stuff out of them and we're going to smoke it. That's got to come from, that's to be a message from from from. Yeah, for sure. And whatever and and I do like how you kind of

separate the two because when I hear plant medicine, I'm thinking, okay, we're talking about stuff strictly for tripping balls. Whereas, yeah, plant medicine can be like ginger and ginkgo below, like all those different, there are all kinds of things that come from the earth that make you feel better and can help you heal and can help your brain and help your just overall function. And so I think it's important to differentiate the two between plant like, you know, there's, yeah, that and like you just how you said, like, I've never thought of like, how you just describe like normal medicine. You can be, you know, air, it could be sunlight. I've never thought of that as, you know, like, it is medicinal, right? I mean, we need it to live. Yeah. I've never thought about it. I never held held that like that parallel between the two. So what? Now, I, I, whenever you lead somebody on what do we call this? Like if you're, if you're a guide for somebody, say I'm someone that comes to you and I say, I want to go up into the mountains and I

want to do DMT and I want you to be my guide. Do you just call me? Are you just up? Are you a, a guide at that point? Are you a, what, what, what would you call yourself at that point? Yeah. I mean, you know, I think the common term that is used in the professional realm is facilitator. Yes. But yes, essentially, essentially, it's a guide. It's, you know, it's similar to, if you want to go climb a big mountain, you could go by yourself and you might figure it out and you might get to the top and you might survive. You might not. You might not. Or, or you might have a really terrible time and you might not be sure what you're doing and it's, if there's a lot of uncertainty there. But if you have someone who's been up that mountain before and who's been doing this for years and has a lot of experience, they're going to help you. They're going to help you prepare. They're going to help you do it and they're going to help you recover. And that's, essentially, what a professional guide does. Of course, you know, there are ways to have support

that don't require professional facilitators or guides. You could have a very close friend who's done this before, who's there with you supporting you and, you know, creating a safe environment for you to have that experience. As a facilitator, as a guide, I think anyone coming into that line of work has a deep desire to be of service to what they've experienced. And that's how I feel. I have a deep longing to be of service of this incredible thing that has presented itself to my life because when you understand the connectedness that comes along with those experiences, it becomes very, um, this week at Vons and Albertsons, USDA choice tri-tip roast untrimmed are 599 per pound, limit four roasts with membership wear applicable and medium-ripe Hassovicados are 99 cents each with membership wear applicable. I'll say divine. Yeah. You have such a deep appreciation and reverence for it and you want to bring that kind of reverence to it and help people have the best possible experience. So a facilitator, yes, is inherently going to help you prepare, guide you along the way, and also help you make sense of it when it's all done. And help you come back. Yeah. What do you bring this into your life? Like how do you become after such a profound experience? How do you integrate this? SSRI, by the way, is something that anyone who is in a state of service to this brings set setting reverence integration. Okay. What we're doing as

practitioners is serving the highest possible outcome. So we create the safest set setting. We bring a reverence to that and we're going to help you integrate. I should have had that the night I eat all those mushrooms. They don't doubt my mind. I need you that night Rachel, but I was flying blind. And I climbed the mountain by myself. I didn't make it all the way up. I tripped and I think I hit my head a couple of times. No, you found an arm. Yeah, I found a whole I found a arm to suck. Yeah. And she should never ever ask me about it. Either which is cool. So appreciate that. Well, a lot of people have had incredibly profound moments all by themselves like Paul Stametz, who is, you know, the world's most renowned professional in the psilocybin space had his own personal journey when he ate a giant bag of mushrooms by himself in a tree. And overcame a stutter that he had his whole life. And it changed his

life trajectory. And he then dedicated his life to learning everything he could about mushrooms. And now he's this, you know, beautiful expert and guide to, you know, the world. Well, I will say my older brother, he overindulge and we had to go pick him up in the ER when he was in college. I love this story. But that was a very unfun evening for, for my family. I think you definitely, he definitely overdid it. So it can be overdone. So I do, I do highly recommend using a facilitator like Rachel in the event that you do wish to experience something of such. But what would make someone seek out a psychedelic experience for personal growth instead of, so for me, like, I was just like, I want to get high, you know, but for somebody else who really wanted to seek out a, assigning a psychedelic experience for personal growth. Yeah. What? Is there, I guess, yeah, is there a difference there? Or what? Yeah, sure. And before I answer that,

I just want to mention about our last portion of this conversation that, you know, any time you are looking to work with someone, you know, remember not everybody who has a job is good at their jobs. So a doctor, a dentist, a chiropractor, a therapist, you know, when we go looking for help, I think it's important to be discerning and to ask a lot of questions. People often ask me, you know, like, how do you find a good massage therapist? And well, you need to ask questions just because somebody has that job. Doesn't mean that they've had a lot of continuing education or experience or that they're necessarily good. So doing your due diligence when you're seeking out guidance or even these experiences, it's, you know, employer wisdom. Do your checking. These substances while life changing are also under the same influences, everything else in

life. There is a full spectrum of medicine work and conventional medicine work where you can run into corruption, you can run into misuse, you can run into, you know, subpar curation of those things just like just like anything. So be wise. That's a good point. And do you have repeat customer? I don't want to call them customers, but do you have people that come to you that have come to you more than once for these type of, to come to you as a facilitator? Yeah. Well, like it says on my website, I do the integration work. I help people make sense of their experiences. That's really where I thrive. Yeah. However, I have sat with, keep many people in the medicine space in different capacities. And it's not something that I necessarily promote for people to do. It's one of those

things where it finds me. And if I am asked to be a support to someone, I generally will agree. Of course, there are a lot of like aspects to this about a person's health and well-being, what their intention is, etc. So they're, you know, I'm pretty discerning myself around how I involve myself and people's experiences. But I do feel a ton of questions. And a lot of people who have had other worldly experiences who just might not know who to go to to talk about it. Because, you know, Nick, like you, if you ate a bunch of mushrooms one night and you have this crazy experience, you go tell your buddies at work who have never done it. They're not going to know. And you might have a good laugh. But maybe there's a deeper part of you that's looking to kind of like answer what just happened to me. Why did I see this? Why did I feel this? And I will say the music.

I was watching some music. I was listening to some music and watching some music videos. And brother, I tell you what? It was unlike, it was like the music was being played inside of my soul. It just like the music moves with your heart and it moves with like your brain. I can't even explain it. But I would just, I turned on hotel California live. And dude, I was weeping tears of literal joy. Just how beautiful and just peer the music sounded. And you cannot. I've never been on to capture that feeling since without, you know, going to the garage and opening up that back in mushrooms and the forbidden back. And you know, that is such an incredible sensation to have the way that the substances work on your sensory, on your, on your sensory systems. Is it almost like merges sensation so you can like, cheer light and color or you can, you know, feel music

and that you've never experienced it before. And yes, those tears of joy, like, this is the most brilliant thing I have ever heard in my life. Like you said, mind blowing and butter, pecana ice cream dude on this stuff. Exactly. Taste. Arms. Arms. Taste amazing. So to like answer your question about why do some people go looking for it for growth versus just using it to party. Yeah. I think that somewhere along the line, a person hears about the effect of these things on consciousness and the potential for growth and healing. Even people who do use it recreationally, somewhere along the line will hear that these plants have potential, that they've been used for thousands and thousands and thousands of years for growth and healing,

that there are indigenous traditions involving these plants that go back before there was written history. Yeah. And so I think now in a lot of ways, I would say the plants themselves are so intelligent. They will cause a being to seek the growth, seek the healing. And all of us have traumas to overcome, that is the human condition. We are born into what some might call separation or you come into the experience solely focused on the self. And at some point in your eyes become open to, wow, there's this whole other world around me. How do I interact with it? And something in the conscious evolution path will always touch someone somewhere and they will answer the call or not, but that call will say, what is it? What is this? What is happening? What is life? How does

this work? And that question leads you down portals. And one of those portals might be plants. Oftentimes it is because you are an animal, humans are animals, we are a nature, we're not separate from it, we are animals. And so there's this part of us that can't help but crave nature. You crave that deep breath, you crave to have your bare feet on the earth, you crave to touch the ocean, you crave that sunlight on your face, you crave the touch of another human body. Those things will always call you back and they'll call you back over and over again. I do crave to touch another body, but I also crave to wear crocs. I can't go barefooted, it's something I gotta work into. My body often craves a nice hot dog. Yeah, we crave pleasure. We crave pleasure. That's great. And then you'll stop craving that hot dog

after you've eaten them for a week straight. You'll crave a salad. Challenge accepted. So Rachel, what do you actually do while someone is having one of these experiences? You working as a facilitator and a guide. What do you do while someone is having one of these experiences? Are you talking them through it? Are you just observing and maybe with like stopping them from just making mistakes? Are you controlling the environment? Reassuring them? How does that process work for you? Well, in my experience as a receiver and a giver, I would say, you know, it starts before the medicine journey with a proper health history, making sure a person's in a good physical and mental state, state, really making sure there's a lot of safety involved. You really are tapping into a person's intention. So that journey starts at the moment of decision to

experiment in this realm. And when you start setting the intention, things really start shifting. During the experience, the facilitator plays a really important role in creating an energetic field. So how a facilitator comes along with you is really important. Someone who can really hold a positive frame of mind, someone who can really be in a state of neutrality, accepting both the difficulties and the joys of the experience and can bring a sense of groundedness and is going to be prepared to deal with anything that might come up. So, you know, there are a lot of tools that a facilitator can have available from, you know, fresh fruit and an outdoor setting to venture into

if that's calling to music. Like you said, having for me to have an eye mask and a playlist is key in my own experiences, it's, you know, music takes you through a journey of your own psyche. Also, you know, to have some other good medicines like a drum or a Tibetan singing bowl or a gong or a vibration that can help ground you, you know, heavy blankets, warm things, hot stones, warm towel, comfort of a holding, someone holding your hand. And then oftentimes when people are going through these experiences, because it's kind of taking away your default mode network of how you associate things in your mind, it opens you up to crying those tears of joy. It could also open you up to re-experiencing a very difficult time in your life that maybe you just haven't taken the time to process because it's so uncomfortable to feel those feelings. So, to have someone there to

guide you through that can be extremely helpful. Yeah, that's all, those are all things I've never really thought about. You just like you, when I, you know, I think about maybe doing psychedelics and just doing music. But dude, if I could get them pink Floyd and like a big old bowl of watermelon and then some drum and some hot and a way to blame it against music, I might never come back, dude. Right, right. You know, one thing that, you know, I've experienced when you're sitting and thinking about, you know, why do I want to do this? And you want to maybe think about things that you'd want to bring up. And maybe there is something that you're working on in your life. It could be as, you know, simple as a change in career path to something as profound as overcoming a childhood trauma. But I always find that it could be helpful if someone wants to address those things. A facilitator can pose that question somewhere along the line for you and help kind of organize the journey a

little bit so that you're not just drifting in liminal spaces between the sparkly dog and knowing on an arm, you know, they might bring you back. I was sucking. I wasn't knowing. Go on. There's no chewing. You were doing bath salts. But that's it. To piggyback off of what you just said, how do you stop somebody from making a massive life decision because the mushrooms maybe told them to quit their job or divorce their spouse or their partner? How do you stop somebody from making a decision like that? If maybe you feel, I don't, you know, you think to yourself that I don't know if this is the absolute greatest idea for them. How does that come into play for you? Yeah, I think that it's wise to caution people to avoid grandiose

ideations. You know, something and experience like this, it can make you feel a sense of purpose. It can make you feel a motivation to make really big changes. It can also make you feel really special because you are, but you also don't want to step into the sort of dangerous arenas of the plants told me to do this or that or the other or I have been given this information and that makes me special or everyone around me now cannot match my super special psychedelic energy. So I have to abandon my life. I mean, you want to caution against these grandiose ideas. So the recommendation is to sit with it. To take time to integrate, that's the SSRI,

the I part is the integration, which is take some time with this, mall it around, ask yourself deeper questions and before making any big life decisions, no matter what anyway. I mean, anyone who is considering making major life decisions, I think they're going to make them if they want to make them. If they want caution, they'll receive caution. And anyone who's working in either the plant medicine or the natural healing modalities is going to say take time to reflect on what it is inside of you that's longing to change and can you work with that from where you are? And if the calling for you to make bigger changes is feeling very in alignment with the highest and greatest good of everyone concerned, then you're talking about a positive change because if you're if you're if you're drop kicking

everybody out in a hurry, that's not necessarily coming to everyone else's life and the highest and greatest good. There's a compassion that you'd want to apply to everyone around you as you're navigating those changes. That's a good that's a good way to look at it. And I do like the integration part. Let's not just let's not just walk out the door and buy this right now. Let's let's slowly integrate this into our lives. I do like that. That way of thinking people sometimes describe meeting entities, talking to dead relatives, reliving childhood experiences, leaving their body, experiencing God or feeling like they've lived an entire lifetime. How do you interpret those experiences? I mean, I'm like Waheguru, like wow life isn't it amazing. Everything exists. Everything exists. And I mean, when I'm looking at that, I try to keep in mind that

in the oneness that has become duality, everything must exist for the entire universe to exist. So for me to say no to something would be saying no to that, which is all things. And when a person has an experience of meeting an entity, I mean, sure, why not? That's possible. What is an entity anyway? How would you define that? How would you describe it? How could you even try to translate that to another person? And then a dead relative or a premonition or leaving the body or experiencing God? Those all become avenues for a deeper, more profound conversation. What does that even mean? And if someone experiences that Waheguru, that's a mantra, by the way, that comes from the Kundalini Yoga lineage, which means wow, wisdom, wow life, wow, it's just a beautiful mystery. And so yes, yes, to all of it. Yes, wow. I'm trying. And now if I if I did set out to partake in a guided,

a guided journey, and you know, I have all these options. I have, I have crystals from a toad, I have DMT, I have peote, I have all these different things. This is a podcast episode right here that we could do. If I, if I guided podcasts, if I said, Rach, I want to go on the most magnificent and credible journey. I want to go to the most colorful rainbow, the most beautiful sounding planet in the world. If you had a near that down to like, these are probably your two directions, which two of those medicines would you recommend? Oh, that's an interesting question. I've experienced Bufo, the five Miodium T, Iowaska. I was in T.P. Ceremonie, the Native American Church Ceremonie for Peote. I've worked with mushrooms and they all have a different spirit or a different personality.

You know, it's like, it's like anything else you might enjoy the spirit of coffee and how that feels to your body. And one person's experience of coffee is different than another. Yes. You know, if someone were to ask me, I would invite that person to maybe meditate on that to really say close your eyes. Take a few breaths. Sit in the sun. Ask, ask your deep wisdom. Ask your inner guru, your energy, your inner guru. That always knows best. No one can really tell you what to do. I think when you decide what to do based on what feels like it's calling you, then that will be the right thing for you. I love that. Yeah, I think it's always like, I've heard a lot of about all of those things. Dymethyl trip to mean has always been like DMT's always been. It sounds amazing. It sounds beautiful.

I mean, that's something that your body naturally produces in small increments. Oh, that's your spirit. Talking to you. We just figured all this out in the past 40 minutes here. No, and that's why I like the idea of these medicines so much. And the fact that you can tap into these things, because it opens up something in you and it expands your horizons. It's something that I would love to just at least once to get a good, a good little guide. I mean, the way for us, we're stupid. The way for us to say this is we want to do it. That's the right way. Not in a farious way. I'm not trying to just go out and depart. I want to be enlightened. I want to talk to an entity. Yes. Well, let me say this about that. How you come to anything, the energy that you're bringing to it is really important. So whatever you choose, keep in mind that how you prepare for that is

incredibly important. At least I wouldn't say it's necessary, but it can be really helpful. So the couple weeks prior, if you're eating very clean food, if you're drinking a lot of natural spring water, if you're getting a lot of sunshine, hug a few trees, like reconnect to nature, cleanse your system, cleanse your mind, you know, do a do a technology detox, like try meditating, like clear your energy, decide what it is that you're really wanting for. And yoga, we call it the Sun, Kulpa, your deep desire. What is your deep desire? Identify with that. If it's freedom, if it's joy, if it's love, go for that. And when you set that as your intention, you really can't go wrong. Now, each of the medicines has a different, not only personality, but also a strength, like mushrooms are known as the little children or the cousins, whereas ayahuasca is the mother. Iboga is the father energy, or DMT is the God force energy. So you can jump out of the air plane

the first time, or you can run, you jump the first time, you know what I mean? Like, I'm glad I've run, you jumped. Yeah. So, you know, if if your consciousness, which is something that is not what you think you are, your consciousness is something that is guiding you along the way. That's why I like to call it your energy, your inner God. You have an every cell of your body, and you have 100 trillion cells in your body. You are an entire universe. You are the I amness of being. Your point of reference is the creative force. And that is something that your consciousness is craving to find itself again, so that you can remember your power, not your power in a manipulative way, but your power in this energetic force that you are, that what you're thinking, how you're living, what you're choosing is exactly what you're creating for yourself to experience. And that's the beginning of the journey. So once you decide which route you want to go

and you bring that powerful intention, you're going to have an experience that is going to continually lead you deeper and deeper until you have that deep recognition. And that is everyone's birthright. Everyone is designed to have that experience. That's why the lotus flower in certain lineages is such a profound symbol, because we all move from darkness to light. The seed is underwater in the mud. It grows upward. It seeks the light. It seeks the truth. It seeks to breathe again, right? And it blooms at the surface and it opens and it has the experience of rediscovering that which it's already connected to from the seed to the flower. And we're all designed to have that moment. And it may come at the moment of death for some people and it may come at the moment of birth. And then all of it in between the full spectrum. This all makes me feel like, this all makes me feel like I'm missing out on so much alive. I'm just a pea brain staring into a little electronic box all the time.

But there's so much there's so much fulfillment out there that I'm just like I'm not indulging in and I kind of make it a little bit sad. But also it's eye opening to say, hey, there is there is more out there. But I got to get to I got to get to a couple of the bro questions here. Okay. Well, I got one right off the rip because I've always been interested in this with with DMT. There's a commonality between everybody that sees this and with somebody who has seen this more so in maybe in person or through experience. I hear a lot of stories that people that take this they see machine elves. That's that's a big thing. There's elves. Everybody always sees elves. Interesting. They're mechanical elves. It's like a very a very like a, and I think maybe that's some of the reasons I want to see these little fuckers. You know, right? And you know, my question about that, which I have not seen elves. But you know, are they taking synthetic DMT or are they taking plant DMT?

That's a good question. And you know, from what I understand and I don't know for sure, but most of the time those people seeing the machines are taking this synthetic now. Okay. Again, I won't claim to say that that's a certainty. But you know, what could that be associated with? Maybe the little machines that are creating the DMT or or you know, is there a link to these other dimensions, not dimensions in physicality, but dimensions in mentality. So you know, how we perceive those dimensions can be similar to some people. And the same way that a lot of people who take ayahuasca see a serpent or a jaguar or. I'll do snake Rachel. Keep me out. Keep me out. I don't do snakes. They're so cool. Yeah. They're free. But for me, we don't do snakes here in this house. I've heard, I've heard like I've seen stories of people that have taken ayahuasca

for the full side effects to wear off it, taking them like eight months. Wow. And I mean, I'm not sure exactly how like reputable that is. I've read a couple things about strange trip, baby. But not that it's fully on, but like the certain things that they see that can continue. There's like one of my favorite Reddit stories ever is about this journalist who went to the mountains. I think it was maybe in Peru. And he was, he would on a guided trip with a shaman. And for like three or four days, and it's one of the most chaotic stories I think I've ever read before. It's really, and it kind of like that's kind of I think what sparked my interest originally. Because I'm like, this is, this is crazy. And like it, it's like it, the stuff that he saw was like, it's like a whole lifetime. He lived an entire lifetime while under this, you know, this weekend. It's, yeah. It's wild. Well, I can say this like after experiencing Bufo, I often will say now and it's been almost a year since I experienced it. I'll often say, wow, right now I'm in such a Bufo state of

mind. I feel so expansive. I can feel the connection of everything. I'm having these waves of energy and remembering and recognition and something bigger than I can put even words to. And I think that those kind of reverberations or echoes of the medicines are part of the profound experience that, you know, there's something that's calling you back to something and maybe it just needs your more concentrated attention. Maybe it is taking that time to sit down and really work around it or to, you know, ask for support. There's something in the wisdom that your body is giving you that can lead you to the next. Hey, it's Kelly Rowland. You may not know this, but I have eczema. So I get how it can steal your time. But why let eczema take over when you can talk to your doctor about eczema? What is the absolute craziest trip that you've ever had? The one, maybe afterward, you were like, what the hell was all of that? And it maybe took you a while to break it all down. But this is a very broke question. Aside from me not saying, what was your craziest trip, but what was your craziest trip? I mean, I think the most incredible is Bufo. I could try to put it in towards for you.

By doing that, I would say in a flash, I became everything all at once. It's almost as if you could be in the center of an infinite sphere and also be every part of it. And see how purposeful and patterned and intricate and beautiful all of it is. And in that experience of everything all at once, it's almost as if you recognize that there, like here's how I describe it. You know how like back in the day, you could go to Spencer's. And in Spencer's, there would be like one of those micro filament lights. I forget what they're called. Yeah, there's a bulb, right? And that bulb has hundreds of filaments that are coming off of it. And then at the end of every one of those filaments, you'll see a replication of the light.

Yeah. Okay, so it was kind of like that. It was almost as if I experienced the one life force radiating out and experiencing itself. And every single one of these little filaments, but if you were to track them all back down, they're all connected intricately to this one source. So having had experienced all of that, you remember that you're everything, you're everyone. You've been everything and everyone. You're just, you happen to be having this one personal experience. As my consciousness came back online, I could sense that sphere, almost like a sphere of mirrors, folding in on itself very geometrically, like all the way down to this infinitesimal point of nothingness, which is in my mind, it was like another black hole. From that nothingness, it would only explode back out into everythingness again. And when that happened and it all came back down and I felt myself back in my body, all I could say with a big grin on my face and a

tear running down my cheek was yes. Wow. Is it good for the other one? Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. And you know, when I came back from that, let me tell you this, what happened to all my way there, I had stopped to get spring water at a place 20 minutes north of me. I can collect spring water from these people's property. They make it available to anybody who wants it. So I go fill up some spring water. I take it to my ceremony. I set up my intention. I have this water. And after I came back to I sat with this with with a little, you know, I'm ask on and I just felt all of the feelings, all of the joy, all of the beauty, all of the things that were coming into my wear. It's like no wonder that was so intriguing to me. It led me down this path. No wonder this person was in my life. It led me to this opportunity. No wonder this challenge presented itself. It gave me the compassion I needed to help others. Like all the connections were being made. And I finally was like, OK, I think I'm ready to sit up. And I asked for my water. So I sit up and I have this

cup of water and I look down into it. And I can almost feel the water recognizing me. And I'm looking at it. And the water is pouring out of my eyes. And the water in me is recognizing the water in the cup. And I'm like, now I'm I'm crying even harder. I'm like, whoa, this water is me. I'm water. Everything is water. Everything is transferred. Vio water. Wow. And then I hear something. And it sounds like rain. And I lift my eyes and right outside the windows, looking into this incredible woods in the fall. Last year, the rain is now pouring down. And that water sees me and my water sees the cups water. And I'm like, whoa, that water knows my water. No, stop water. And then there's a stream running outside of this window. And all of this water is connected. Not only is all of this water connected, but guess what? You're made of the same water that I made of that has passed over this planet for all of. We are reconstructing and recreating and always changing

and flowing and going. And it's just endless like holy cow holy shit. Like I can't believe this. And it was just the most profound, beautiful moment. That's I would been crying with you. Tears would have recognized one of the other's tears. I hope you don't take what I'm about to say in the wrong way. Because I don't mean it in a bad way whatsoever. But the way you just describe that as somebody who's always been very interested in it, the way you described it is you you romanticize it in such a way where like I'm like, even more intrigued. You know what I mean? And I mean that could be with your experience. Obviously, there's people that have good experiences and there's people that have bad experiences. And I think that all stems from the mentality of that specific person, of that environment, of what they're going through personally. If you're sitting in a apartment, you know, tripping on mushrooms while someone's in the other room just, you know, beating the shit out of their spouse, you're going to have a bad trip. You're not going

to have a fun time. But I think that there's like a there's definitely, you know, that's that's something in the way that that's that you describe it that it's just that in itself. I'm sitting here while you're explaining what you're going through. I'm closing my eyes and I'm listening to you talk about it. I can feel it and I can yeah, I can feel the water man. I can feel I'm I'm part of that water too. Yeah. Yes, you are. You're drinking. Yes, exactly. Exactly. And I think, you know, that's that's the important role of a facilitator or a guy. They're going to bring that energy along with you and they're going to open your eyes to see that interconnectedness and the beauty that is in every experience you're having. I will say out of everything we've heard, one thing that resonates with me the most that that Rachel talked about is the it's not just show up and do the stuff and go on the ride. Rachel talked about the lead up to it, like almost going through a detox taking yourself down to just yourself, just like a isolating all that like separating all that

outside noise and all just kind of getting all the junk that you go with the clean eating and the the water from the earth and just stripping yourself down to like its most pure form and then indulging in something like this. I think that makes a huge difference between a successful journey and maybe a not successful journey. I think that it just shows it just shows how much you care about the process and it shows that I mean, I don't feel like I'm just talking to somebody who's like, yeah, I've done this, but I feel like I feel like I'm in very good hands. But you're not talking to that college kid that major brother O.D. and you have the mushrooms at college. I think having that intention can be helpful. Some people have an amazing experience with or without a facility. Some have a really challenging experience with or without. But I think that there's there's concept that you can work with and I'm sure you've heard of it where attention goes, energy flows. Imagine bringing that level of intentionality to your daily life. What if you

did spend time with or without plant medicine? What if you did spend time cleansing your mind, cleansing your spirit, cleansing your body? How different would your life look? How different would your day-to-day living look? And that's the power of just pure thought. That all just came from a thought that, whoa, what would happen if? And even even the people around you, say, for instance, your kids and your spouse say, think about what your family, your loved ones would benefit. If you said, all right, I'm taking a month off of my phone and I'm taking a month of not eating deep-fried trash and I'm just going to experience, I want to experience human interaction and just like companionship and friendship and just being in the moment. And not only are you benefiting from that, but everyone in your life kind of benefits from that. And I think that's exactly. And then guess what, Nick, you become the good medicine. I am the good medicine. You are the medicine. You are the DMT.

You are the ayahuasca. You are the love. That full circle. Bon Jovi is saying about bad medicine. I'm the good medicine. Just to close it out, I've got 10,000 more questions, but usually, usually we keep these around an hour and we're at the hour. So that happens so fast. If I know, there might be a Rachel part two sometime soon. I think we have a lot of questions that we can ask. And I think Rachel has so much more to give to us. But for somebody who's listening, who is fascinated by everything we've talked about, I mean, we didn't touch on the breathwork, the sound healing, and you're grizzled, Henri Grumpy brother, who just absolutely is a grizzled marine. He's maybe somebody who could benefit from your work. No, he spoke very, very highly of the sound therapy. The sound. Okay. And he's like, he said it was one of the coolest experiences I've ever done.

We love that. We really touched on any of that. And he's one of those guys like, don't look at me. That's gay. I'm like, I work with you, you're man. We have to look each other sometimes. But for somebody listening who is maybe fascinated by all this, but also maybe extremely skeptical. What would you tell them? Well, two things. First, I want to touch real quick on something that I feel like is important. I have had really challenging experiences with plant medicines, things that have brought very deep things to the surface for myself, or just even parts of me that I needed to bring more attention to that felt really uncomfortable and challenging in the moment. So I just don't want to gloss over my own personal experience of having had, you know, face some real challenges in it. But those that have also been gifts, that's the alchemy. And then my brother, who I adore, and I love my little baby brother, my baby brother. He's a big, he's a big giant marine. And he is an amazing person. And it was really special to give him and his wife, Jessica,

breathwork and soundbath experience. And Robin Nick, if you too want to come have the experience, I'd be happy to gift it to you. My gift to you on the evolution of consciousness. And then I'm sorry Nick, what was the thing I was supposed to answer the the people that are maybe skeptical of all because you know, skeptical. Yeah. What advice would you give them? You know, I think it's interesting. Skeptic is a word I am fascinated by because I mean a true skeptic is someone who doesn't disbelieve or believe in anything, but just stays curious and open. Whereas a critic might be expressing doubt or concern or fear. And I would say, you know, if there is something in you that is asking questions about either the validity of this, which there is an incredible body of work now that is showing the efficacy of these medicines to the world, you know, research. If there's a question in your mind, ask. I would never suggest that

someone just blindly trust unless they want to. I'm a person who likes to play trust the universe. I like to jump out of the airplane. I like to take the risk. I like to I like to face my fear of death. That encourages me. I find that to be thrilling. And I also trust the universe that everything is unfolding for me. And not everyone is in that place. So if there is a doubt, then ask if there is a concern, ask. And if it's not for you, that's okay. There are many paths to the truth. There are many paths to unconditional love. There are many paths to expanded consciousness. You can do this in meditation. You can do this with breath work. You can do this in with a therapist. You can reach these altered states of consciousness by sitting in the sun and communing with it and asking it to talk to you and it will. I like that. I couldn't be a more perfect dancer. And you better pepper ruined it. No, that's fine. I can I can add a dog out.

I can add it like the dog's not barking on her track. The dog's barking. She is she glittering. She's glittering. I hope that God she is right. Get back up there. Got a twilight dog. And before we close here, Rachel, like I said, she's the owner of Ray of Light Quantum Healing. She specializes in massage therapy, breath work, sound healing, energy medicine, life coaching, plant medicine, integration. She's a little hampered now because she tried to cut her arm off or her finger or I did. But she should be back on the men soon enough. But if people would like to maybe partake in your services or you do life coaching, you do a lot. You have you offer a ton of services. How can how can we get in contact with you? Yeah, you can visit my website at rayoflightquantamhealing.com or shoot me an email rayoflightquantamhealingatgmail.com. I'd be happy to just answer questions or, you know, be of service to anyone who's who's seeking that support. Awesome. Well, you had me at SoundBath because I haven't taken a real bath in a long time. So maybe

a SoundBath is, damn, I was going to take that. Rachel, thank you so much for coming on here. It really was an enlightening conversation. And you made me think about things that I haven't really ever thought about. And you made me want to do things that are outside of me just sitting and staring my phone and just kind of, you know, being grumpy, grumpy dad. So, thank you. Thanks for coming on the show. Go ahead. I just want to say thank you both. I see that beautiful light in you. I bow to you in reverence and gratitude. We say, not must stay in yoga. It means I see you. I see the truth that is inside of you. And thank you for being here with me. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share these incredible fun things. And for being so caring and thoughtful with your questions. I told you she's wonderful. She's the best. I try to tell you. I try to tell you if she's wonderful. She is.
