Procrastination is a Lie!

About this episode

Procrastination is a lie.

Why? Because contrary to popular belief it is NOT about laziness or willpower, but something else entirely.

What it really is, is an internal battle against uncomfortable emotions.

We’ve been told it’s a “time” problem. But in reality, what it is is an “emotion” problem.

It's our desire to avoid pain and fear that causes procrastination. And the key to overcoming it is not a matter of willpower but a shift in perspective, moving from a mindset of self-blame to one of acknowledgement, understanding, and action.

By acknowledging the fear, breaking down overwhelming tasks, focusing on small starts, and practicing self-compassion, you can fundamentally reprogram your relationship with procrastination.

Want to learn more about procrastination, including the 3 big reasons why we do it, and 5 ways in which you can effectively deal with it? Then listen to this week’s episode of the Better Mindset Show: Why You're Not Lazy (and The Real Reason You Keep Procrastinating)
