These numbers only cover cases escalated to the parking on private land appeals service, so the real total of challenges is way higher. Drivers are fed up, with motoring groups like the rack and AA blasting these cowboy operators for stressing folks out with bogus fines. They point out most people just pay up without fighting, even when they're right. Private firms are issuing around 2,000 tickets an hour, up to 100 bucks each, raking in nearly 5 million daily. That's why groups are pushing labor to roll out that long delayed code of practice from 2019 to rain them in.
