Next coming year. Just how different your super-hero and just the term, if you had a college student, you get a couple of, and that and all the same, but just how different you feel. Not different than just the neighborhood and the community and the distance. Yeah, I mean, I can figure you kind of realize that, you know, this is, you know, this is your life, you know, you got to, you know, come in here, go play single-highest day, playing with the best ever single-day, you know, you got the time in, you know, you got to make sacrifices, you know, to what you want to get out of it in the end. You know, long-of-life, you know, school and just, you know, live on your own, and you know, it's good for you to teach us a lot, and you know, as you get, it just makes you better overall. You graduate from here one year, two years, you have got like Riley and he's the interviewer, and you look up to, you know, guys, and you're going to pick that role now, but you have got to, you know, what kind of leaders and employees you have to offer to the agency, grow, or those guys on the other side. Yeah, I mean, just kind of, you know, just shown the way around this building, you know, just, you know, how we do it here at a high-stay, how we operate, you know, they've, you know,

I think all three young guys coming in have done a great job, you know, they've, you know, great work ethic, you know, I think, you know, for me, you know, the offseason, it was more like, you know, like, you know, for example, kind of thing, and, you know, and just bring a little bit of, you know, vocal leadership in there as well, but, you know, just kind of, you know, just kind of work with them, and, you know, kind of showing them how, you know, build a guy's, and how we do things in the room, is, you know, definitely carried on to that. And being a part of that championship round last year, I guess, what did you learn from that one thing went on? You guys went on, and, I guess, what do you learn about, like, what do you think? What do you think? I would just say, you know, staying together, you know, our biggest thing was each week was just trying to keep, keep that group together each week, and, you know, I think last year we had such a strong bond together, you know, with all the guys, I think that was really the motivation, you know, just staying together and, like, like, a band of brothers. James has popped down the pass, and I think I've been deciding in our battle, you know, kind of made that two-deep,

but James has popped the pass on the map, and you're playing well, you're making plays, and just, you know, practice. You're going to play playing well, you're going to be doing things really good, how much pressure you set that approach, you know, you're not going to long, just guys you're going to use your best way of playing well, and you're going to be doing a lot of things. Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, just starts with, you know, coming out to practice every day, you know, putting your head down, just, you know, making sure you're going hard ever to go play, you know, what you're doing, you know, so you can build that trust. But I think, you know, just having the guys around, you know, like, like, Sunny, R.R.R.R.L.P, and, you know, you know, you know, who's, you know, been in there, you know, playing in games, everything like that, you know, D'Line on, and I'm asking questions and stuff, so, so you're ready. Where you set that approach? I'm like 227. It's still 225 right now, I think it will bump up to like, 238. So, I think it will get a little more great in this region. Appreciate it. I'm sure you want that, do you feel a sense of urgency to be part of that 2D to provide depth,

or maybe more than that, this season, how can you go ahead in your two? Uh, yeah, I mean, I think, all right now, I'm kind of focused on, just getting better someday. I think it's kind of what it springs for, is, you know, individually, just, you know, continue to perfect your craft every single day, before that second, you know, scheme or whatever, but, uh, yeah, I mean, I think, uh, that's, you know, definitely, you know, something in my hand, you know, obviously, you know, can't really play. So, I think that's definitely, it's not one big thing. I think Coach Gohan's a really good, has that to achieve, he's a really good coach, really good person, and then obviously we got Coach Dickey, Coach Johnson, Coach Felix, we're all good at this, you know, we've put up, because we got more coaches to do, more drills and stuff, so it's a lot, it's more efficient to do stuff. Are you rapping strictly, or are you doing stuff? Right, Garden Lock very. You got to love it more, but it's so many,

you know, the coaches turn off the clock for a single day, so you have a set of mixes and stuff. Uh, being, obviously, I need to be versatile, because, last year, people went down, and like, you got to be ready with your numbers called, we had Seth go down, Jimmy go down, and like, you always, you got to be ready 100% of the time, otherwise, you just got to be ready. You guys being new throughout different months, you're coming to the team right now. We've seen that throughout all the guys on the list. Uh, I would say like half-go line is doing that. Okay. Can you be come from Michigan? Like, that's not too common, or a higher state player to come from there. What does that experience like? I would say, it's not. I wouldn't say it's that crazy, because I grew up in Michigan State fan, but obviously I committed to Northwestern, because I never got, I never got really like looked at by the Michigan State coaching staff, and then obviously they didn't have like a great, obviously, my mom's talker got fired, so obviously, and then Ohio State called me,

so I'm like, you can't pass it up, so obviously, now I'm here. What is your goal for this season, during your development, and where do you want to be, my goals just get better every day, and just be what I need to be for this team to go when you gain this. Where have you been primarily working this spring, both positions? Right guard left guard. I've got more games to this, because I've changed physically over the last year, like, what, wait, are you up to your decide if you changed physically? I got here, because I came, I was in summer and roly, so I came in at like, 295, and now I, this is like, consistently group of team. Now I imagine I try to be away from the team, you play both guard spots, I think you're saying, right? That seems like everybody would talk at this, play multiple spawns, as you were saying, you need to be, you guys learn last year, you have to be personally going online, it's a good core about that if you would. Obviously, because it's not good when you're all American center goes down last year, but obviously Carson was a really good asset, so he started the year before, so he's really good, it's not like we had a big drop off,

so we always got to be ready, and you have to go. It's a little bit of a little relationship, but if you're getting your year on campus, but then someone coached, but when it comes in, and they obviously, the coach johns come in, and I know you knew from Purdue a little bit at least, well, I was a like to hear that he's coming in, but like, oh, this is familiar, and that kind of already, you know? It's good seeing familiar faces, and yeah, obviously, I like both of them, so it's, I mean, it's not really a drop off, it's right, so it's good. I'm not going to say any other question. Did they tell you about the opportunity here in Asfari's, meaning a player of your sort at a position on the offensive line? Well, I mean, they see me at left tackling, so I'll be a good fit, you know, coming in, but I was, I think I was going to have all the stress, you know, they're also at other great, all kinds of linemen in the portal that have lost the great scope, because they're saying that, feel wise on now, be good fit when it comes to, what you guys do,

what FSC does, and what is like the people here, you know? What's kind of the ultimate feeling now about FSU? I think it's all just a big experience with them, what's kind of the feeling about them? Yeah, it's, it's a, there's definitely a good feeling, it's great. I'm glad that I was actually able to come down here, because I mean, Zoom calls, and phone calls are nice, but you know, in person is a lot different, and this is, again, to know the staff, you're getting to know Coach Herb, and to know Coach Noel, it was a great experience overall. Who else have you checked out during this process? What are their schools? I've talked to some others, so I've talked to a, a house in Iowa, and Ann, and really just, yeah, that's what I've been, I've tried to keep it short, I've tried to keep it sweet, I really need to be 200 bucks of schools. I mean, that's not the main priority, like, is, are you entering decision mode now, or do you intend to take some trips in early January? Yeah, I'm done with it, when do you want to decide? Sometimes I'm a full Christmas. But all. For those of us who only seem to make the highlights of you,

what are kind of your strengths and in the areas that you're looking to improve on? So, shrink wise, I would say, prior to this movement, I mean, I've been told my coach, I would very well for a 300, or 45 pound guy, definitely, definitely, definitely. I fight evident on film, and this, I've been able to get my stances, and the big thing for me, so big, and this may also be a little bit more than the same thing, but at the same time, also just being to see and can't place any punch on a forward in general to technique. I mean, if you're, I mean, if you're a big strong guy, you can only do so much by when you do how through that technique. So, that's a big reason why I want to have a good or why I coach the work of just to refine that technique to be precise in everything, and that's kind of why I'm looking for it to improve it. I appreciate my understanding. Have a merry Christmas. Is this something that's, inside of you? Yeah, I think so. I think so. I think so. I'm very sure. It's just something that's inside of me. I was going to be better than I was the previous day. So, when you look at the speed

in the room with you, and also John Ross, I mean, what does he notice about that especially, you know, if you look out there on the field, and find around trying to make plays. You know, for me, and I'm sure John, as well, like every time you're on the field, you just want to put that speed on tape. No matter if you're, the number one reading the play, or the last reading play, you're always going to put that speed on tape. And obviously, the quarterback's to see that, the coaches to see that, and hopefully, more opportunities come from that. Which is always going to hard. There's a talk around the NFL that they might want to ship the workouts to the late June, or which alive, thinking about like, injuries and prevention. Where's that? What, and some, I've talked about how all seasons, countries for players, what's that? What are your thoughts on that? To be honest, I haven't really quit much thought into it. I feel like now, like I'm a year six and a week, I kind of got a, not kind of, but I have a pretty good routine,

you know how I, scheduled my off season, in terms of dates, and report dates, and all that, stuff like that. But shoot, they're willing to push it back, I'm not going to be mad, because that kind of gives us more time. Obviously, with our families, and kind of doing the same things, just working out, like the first two weeks of OTAs, training and stuff like that, which I mean we're kind of doing already, you know what I mean? But then I see the side of it coming in when we do because we got a lot of new faces, guys that you sign in for agency and then obviously the draft. So I mean it's not a bad thing that we come in when we do because guys get to kind of be around each other and know each other and create that bond early on. You mentioned the injury history for yourself. Do you think that schedule should help in terms of injury recovery and streamwind after the season? I mean yes and no. Speaking personally I feel like a lot of my injuries have been things out of my control. I feel like I've had a lot of freak injuries. You know can prevent I don't know but I mean more time off, more recovery I mean if you're

doing it the right way it is definitely beneficial. Check around back in 19, the Eagles were very interesting. What do you remember from that period, that process? Yeah, it's actually funny because I took a top 30 visit here and I remember my visit vividly coming in like just really loving the place, loving the staff, loving the people especially like just having conversations with how we and just kind of just being in the building. It felt right to me and I remember going home after my top 30 visit talking to my girlfriend wife at now but my mom was like I really liked the Eagles and that was kind of one of my teams like going into the draft like I thought that I might be here and I know that there's been talks that it almost happened or whatever but I mean in hindsight of things like things always work out how they're supposed to be you know now I'm here so I don't know if that it was meant to be like that obviously it was but you know now I'm here soon. You want to be installed here, you feel that levels of playing feel for you with your competition at all?

So I think obviously with Kelly me here you know at the end of the day for me like football is football and obviously like I say like being with a familiar face I'm in Nick so working with him and kind of like knowing what he's done in the past and then obviously Kelly being a different dynamic the good thing is like a lot of that stuff is similar to different terms and different names so for me it's been very easy to kind of just be in here and get an offensive understanding so yeah I think that's a credit so another reason why I came here is just knowing Nick has some type of hand in the offense with Kelly so it definitely helps me. I'm going to break into jail and hurt so far. Keep saying it again. And pressure was a jail and hurt so far. Yeah so I remember when I first like agreed to terms would come here the first person I got a text with from Jaylen and he was basically just saying like excited to you know have you here. He said he kind of watched me from afar just knowing that I was a you know a speedy guy good player whatever but just you know that that meant a lot to me for him to reach out you know during that time and since I've been here man he's been knows down like

this works hard he's a great leader just kind of his presence is aura it just speaks volumes of the player he is the leader he is the person he is man and he's grinding to get better each and every day and you know when you're in the boot I want to go like that you just want to play for them and want to get better with them so. We got to say something to make some more. Do you notice that the way that they do things here is different than the other places you have said? I would say they are very very very detailed like Fernando and his team they're like super super detailed like even today like we got these little things where we kind of rate our soreness from the prior practice and things like that and talking with the with Stefan and Chisholid just about plans and all that stuff like they're very very detailed and I've been I've been in places where it's been like that but I think this is kind of a step up just how they're so intense with those things and I think it's definitely been efficient to the players. You mentioned a couple times as far as why you came here even Kevin and Jason but haven't

he changed the botan in that room as a fellow receiver how does that sort of the day is getting a lot of one on one? Yeah man to be honest with you like looking at looking at the room looking at the situation it's like I'm blessed to be with two of the best servers in the game and from outside looking in like the question is oh why would you go there they already got these guys when I'm like man I want to I want to be around greatness like I want to be in there and be with these guys and work with these guys and learn from these guys obviously me and AJ came in together Devise came in at your after and so I've known AJ prior because we trained together for the combine and all that stuff but like to be in a room with those guys like it's only room for opportunity to learn more like these are two of the best and if you're in a room with that like getting all the knowledge you can like playing competing with those guys like it's only going to make you better so like I'm blessed to be in this opportunity blessed to be in that room for sure. Thanks guys. You have to go. Thank you. You talked about the personal diversity what kind of personal diversity you talking

about? Off you go stuff. Yeah. Have you seen fire Murphy kind of progress and getting back on the field? There's a lot of people here and what he can bring on the table for you. I'm just saying I'm seeing his game continue to grow. He caught a little hiccup with the injury. He's off for a couple weeks and I'm still seeing this progression. His evenness to learn. He knows where to be and he knows how he's just leveraged personally. You know he's a short guy and super strong so he has all the potential in the world to be great. What is about this bill's offense makes them as dynamic as they are with the challenge and the owners they present to you guys this weekend? Starts with their 6-5, 250 pound quarterback. For real, that's the one that gets the horse going. I mean without them all through W the team they are and they know that. So right now he hasn't done any interceptions. So hopefully Russian coverage can work together so he can cause his first turn over the season. I know he's been a guy to pass that those lots of interceptions because he takes shots and I know he's even at the ball as far as he can in front of our crowd so you got to do a good job of plastering them. And statistically the run game with the run defense was a lot better the second half

Sunday than the first half. Does anything really change there at all? All right, Greshan. You know, just to piggyback off that we got to continue to be better. I don't personally for me. I don't like seeing the amount of yards on the board granted you know we did win but you know I don't want to be the hindsight guy and forget about you know the run game. Still I think an issue for us. It's an issue for me. We got to be better. I don't want to be one of the last teams in the league in a run game. So we're doing a good job. You know, are my sets right? The coaches are emphasizing it and eventually he's going to get going. Obviously you never want to have a teammate be treated away like your own but with Ernst Jones coming in he's highly touted. There's a pretty good run defense kind of linebacker. What does that do for your defensive room? Terrier in my book. But it does it. It does a. I can't really speak on it because I don't really know Jones that well. I don't know his game. I've heard from others that I know that place with Rams. I said he was good but as far as that I don't know. Hopefully this move works out for the betterment.

Obviously, I mean we all want that too but we'll see how it goes. Feel like a positive thing obviously when John Schneider and your coach are working to get an impact player and your team when the NFC is kind of this wide open. It can be viewed as a positive or negative thing. It depends on what window you look through. What's that process like for you in terms of having to learn guys and their tendencies and communicate with the new players that are coming in during the middle of the season? It's a big process. It's definitely not easy to rework your roster in the middle of the season. They're going to do what they're going to do regardless and obviously I respect that. I'm forward. I believe in their system and what they want to do. But it's an adjustment for all of us to learn a new guy and kind of reestablish a new relationship and reestablish a new voice that you're going to hear making a cause in the middle of the field especially because he's the quarterback of the defense. So it's just something you got to get adjusted to all of us. Is it playing in a different way this season? Has it been any sort of an adjustment for you? It has been. Just getting comfortable with my body again and figuring out my strengths and weaknesses

and how to make sure all my weaknesses are just completely strengths. So it's been a challenge in that aspect too and I think I'm doing a good job at it so far. This past rush is going well. How much of it is guys playing off each other? I'm thinking of boys, sack force, formal, two U collapse of pocket and then he's able to get them. Yeah. I was saying last game was probably the best game. Surprisingly, it was all working together as good as we did. I think these past couple games prior before that game, it's been a lot of us just, we just went in and just happened to be like that. I feel like this Atlantic game was a good game of us communicating. The past game schemes, whether it's a game or just going to straight-work a straight rush and just reading off each other. And we had to get better at that. It's only been a couple games. Well, it's only been seven games. We have a lot more football to play to get better and build our relationship on that aspect. If you dropped in coverage as much as you thought you might have or... Um, bad on par. I've dropped a good amount of time so far this year. I'm talking about doing it now so she put me on whoever, not put me on George Kittle.

No. Have you seen Derek Hall grow in the last four months even this year, being around him? I mean, he's the same type of player. Honestly, only thing that's been different is mindset and it's applying to the field. And he has to continue. You and the Oregon Fowl State game? I was. Jackson had a duck jersey on the week after. Did you have something that you had to do as well? I had to do something that was a little more personal. But I didn't make that bet. But speaking of that, I don't know why we didn't run the ball in the last extension of the game. Talk to them boys down in Columbus and tell them to run the damn ball next time and just get trusted kicker. But it's a lot better. Did you get the penalty, the intentional penalty late in the game? I don't know if that was on purpose. I think Mike brought that up to me and asked me, do you think it's on purpose or they did by accident? I don't know. I thought it was intentional. If it was intentional, it was a very serious move. I didn't, I wouldn't expect that. So that was actually, you know, big brainplay by him. Did you think there should have been a second left?

No. It's going to be real. I don't want to be biased. No, we ran out of time. We just, my boy, my boy, 18 was back there just too comfortable. But it's all good. He's going to learn. First game with Roy Robertson Harris. What were your impressions of him? It was like 6'8". And it was crazy. He's super, super strong. I've been watching him. I've been seeing this game from afar from a while. I shouldn't have been watching it above. I've seen I saw him in Chicago. I saw him in Jacksonville. You know, I just watched a lot of football and a lot of tapes. So I've actually just seen guys that you pay attention to who they are. So it's been a unique process of just bringing them in. And he's picked up a defense pretty well. Very powerful guy. Versus was well. I think it's going to add a lot of good plays to our defense here. So. Did you, for the event of live and have arms that long? Sure. Can nobody touch your chest? Are you in the ball game? You don't want big, strong alignment, grabbing you and trying to rough out you. Because they're already bigger than us in the first place, especially me. They like 6, 8, 3, 30.

Wherever my way is. So playing with extensions is very key for DLONDA. Any other thing that could be a great line? His game? Yeah. I love Cogiro. Like, you know what I'm saying? He's a great offensive mind. I truly believe that. You know what I'm saying? But the main thing is the main thing. And it was prayer. Like, the Lord led me here. Right? So maybe the Lord led me here to be with Giro. But the reason I am here is because I prayed only so hard. This is where I was led to. But Giro does. He can, I do believe in him. And I do believe that he will put me in a reposition at all times. What do you think about Gus' personality? Like, suit Giorm personally? Why don't you guys work together to work with him? I don't, that's a tough question. I really know his personality, like that will. Like, that's a tough one, like, how? Oh no, I don't know how each other is

personalities with each other. Do you guys, like, what's he, do you guys hang out, like, off the field? Like, how well do you know him? Outside of football? I know I know him pretty well outside of football because I mean, we're together in Baltimore for years. But, but I, I, let's just put it this way. He's a good friend of mine. Off the field, and he's a good friend of mine on the field. So that one's, that was a tough one. I like that one. I like that one. You're pretty outgoing. Is he the same or is he the same? What you think? What would you say about Gus? I would say it's difficult to be more outgoing. You think about going? Yeah, you come in, you smile, you know what I mean? Is it a bad thing? No, I'm not going. You guys, you guys kind of seem opposite. You're a good personality. Like Gus seems very, like, you seem very bubbly, and talkative, or Gus seems very like, you know what I'm saying?

So I think it's what we're trying to kind of get at. Like, what? Like, how does this work? Are you? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Opposite attract. Look, look. Look. OK. Gus could be outgoing sometimes. He could be outgoing sometimes. But I mean, I just, I don't know. Maybe, God just gave me a gift to be a light, you know? Maybe. You know what I'm saying? Because even through like hard times, I'm still smiling, though. Because every day is a blessing, you know? And especially to do the job that I do, it's a blessing. Especially after all the stuff that I've been through on the field, I got no reason but to smile, right? What do you think? Still here on the 53 man roster after the stuff

that I've been through on the field, but I often feel the same way. Hey, I hope it's not a bad thing. But look, let me tell you this, though. When I'm losing, you will not see me smiling. There's only time, like, one and only time you'll see that. Surgeon was it to see the offensive line blocking and seeing those holes open up and kind of imagining how you could fit in with that scheme? You know, man, those guys are beast. You know what I'm saying? Like I said earlier, the camp, like, I got a little bit of experience under me. So like, it's always chemistry. Like, when you first get into camp, when you first put a line together, and then you put the run-in-backs with it, it takes chemistry. It's always does. It's never going to be like, sometimes it is. You know, really, it is. Like, you just, like, everybody's on the same track every time. You know, and the offense last year was nothing. I don't think it was anything like the offense we have this year, right?

So you got these guys are trying to get their chemistry together and me with them. You know, I'm trying to get chemistry with them. And we're seeing it, make sure we're seeing it the same way. And now, like, what you're talking about, I think everybody's seeing it the same way. We have a chemistry, which is a beautiful thing in a C because it's going to keep getting better and better, and that's what you're going to be seeing. You're going to be like, dang. This is different, you know? So, I think that's what it is. And I love seeing it. I love seeing it because all those guys are my guys. Even the years you were healthy, did you ever not play in a preseason before, like this just gear enough going into a week one? Yes. What was it, my third and fourth year, my third and fourth year? The one time I did play in a preseason, because my rookie year, I didn't play in a preseason. We had COVID. So the one year that I did play in a preseason, we all know what happened. Nightmare. Nightmare, man, that was a nightmare.

But maybe a better man, you know? So I appreciate that moment too. I can look back on it now and be in small about it because I made it through that storm. You know, you always got to make it through the storm. I ran into the storm, like, I think it was, I want to say it's, bowls compared to cows. Like cows run away from the storm, bowls run to the storm to get through it faster. You know what I'm saying? Have you ever heard of this story? So yeah, my name is El Toro. You know what I'm saying? So if it's me, like, they made it in Baltimore and like, I'm running to the storm. Let's get this over with. Cause I know I'm gonna get through it, you know what I'm saying? So I mean, whenever, cause I didn't know that, I really didn't know that one set of cows, I guess you could say, they run away from the storm and the bowl runs to it. I didn't know that. Like, that's pretty cool to know. And then my name, so it happened to be from Baltimore, El Toro. So, oh no, man, some things, I know, be stacking up.

Oh, this guy named David Andre. He's a reporter, I think. Yeah, he's a reporter. He gave me that name because I started speaking Spanish. So good. You know, but yeah. Just be Spanish. No, man. What? I'm not talking to good guys. Look, look, look, look, I'm open, look. Me and this nice looking young lady right here, we were talking about how we, like, just learning, I love to, you know, be, learn people's cultures, you know, learn about people, like you. I would love to learn about you. What makes you you, right? We could, I bet you we can get it out in 15 seconds. Where are you from? Where are you from? You from here? You're from Baltimore. Mostly, what did that mean? I was born in Milwaukee, when they were in her period. We filled out here. Take the boy out of Philly, but you can't take the

Philly out of the boys. OK, so you look, look, look, look. I already learned, I already know you, you a tough guy. You, you, you a tough guy, but you got a soft spot in you because you've been living out here. Can be tough out here too. You've been on the 405, it looks like a five-year-old guy. Yeah, but you got, you got it. You got it, man. You got it. Hey, Coach, hi, Coach Jordan. Get me better. I'm the older guys. Helping me out. So I'm like, you have to get me better. We've heard Coach Jordan came up quite a bit, obviously. Coach Hardline has been a bit different all this year. What kind of impact has he had for you, and maybe some of the other guys who just stepped in? Coach Hardline in the room. Coach Jordan stepped up, and he helped us out. Everything we did, he's a big help. And I just like, make sure we stand up and all that stuff. We're just talking brandy about stepping into a big role. In the slide. How much do you watch, I like that, everyday, trying to take things, whether it's preparation, stuff you guys on the field, and just learning from a guy like that. Yeah, every time I watch, I watch him.

So I have to take some of this game and add it to my hand rising largest too. I take some of this. All the receivers. Yeah, they always help you out on the dynamic rules. Is what's in life walking into this room specifically at Tire State, with all of history? I mean, you already slide. I mean, you know what it means to be a part of this world? What does that say? That's a big step. It definitely holds a lot like a soldier. So you got to take quick. It's definitely a big dream for my team. It's never been to a lot of, I'm blessed to be here. You won that. Yeah, that's why you come. Yeah, that's why you come here. Yeah. What's that that I'm an advice is that some of the water that is already, even before spring lost starting to talk to the Mecca, some of those guys that you're not? Like, try not to take everything personally. Like, I'll say like, you know, to your time will come. You know, they can come and start making that play. And I'll be looking forward to that every day. And I'll be playing the playbook, because I

should go and get you to find their life. And find their name again. Yeah, like that. Yeah, like that. As you got back, you was a guy right away. It's last two years. You were able to get this opportunity to be a part of it. How much is patient to require me? Obviously, you'd love to get off the field. But how much is patient to have important to have? I'm not everybody having the same amount. So some people always got a living term. But you just got a way out of me. Like I say, a day out of me, a good time. You just got me that play. And it's going to go on for me. Thank you. You like that? I heard. Before everything started. I mean, you know, I just try to keep going. I take it to my little biggest. I don't know how those governments say they're good. But I know we have to do my job. No, I can't know how to say for having a loveous place.

I wanted that to be a point of my career that I've stayed once place in a while. I don't know who that is. I don't think it's important. You don't like doing like, you know, you might say, you might not like it, right? You had never heard that one, but... I'm using it on New York. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I think I'm definitely the new agent. God for the world. It's more money instead of, you know, term royalty, I guess, but I love everything about our state. I love my way. That's one thing about our team, my community, our driver, no matter what people make in the game. I wanted to stay with that. And I feel so many good, like, like long-lasting friendships with these guys. I've been to part of this team, so... I didn't know what I'd change about it. We're three in.

Yeah, I mean, I always treated you as if I was. You know, I'd prepare like I was. You know, I was interested in guys hitting me. I knew that my time would come, and I'd be ready to take what I take, which I have to come. I'm just happy that I'm going to do that, and still try to flip it over to be able to. Worst and most important work is being prepared. You know, since the first part of the game, it's amazing. We're, we're in the, I don't know, flaggers, we're having a right, and a couple of different, other folks, and one team. I mean, we're a good team, but I think our conscious comes from our preparation. You know, we practice hard, and we want to make sure we get everything, a real glass of look, and a little detail we can. And I think Coach knows a really good job of that. And I think we need to continue to do that, because everything that happened last week doesn't really matter if you don't do it this week, so our goal is to do a better level of it last week, and to a controlling game, and one of the game I think gets. He's going to seem to really go down and find a lot to really get into.

Yeah, everyone's trying to be the next guy and make a good, what's your best like out there? And, Coach, it's a partner's part. Yeah, I mean, I think that's the biggest thing that football's meant to be a fun sport. You know, when you're at the glass there, and you're going to make plays and have fun, you really be brothers with each other, so, you know, the only time you really make plays when you're at a home, you know, I've been trying, you know, I'm making plays, so I really have those hands in hand, and we're just out there trying to help my people. You got here, you were scheming and telling around and can change that, but did you see when you saw him? Yeah, actually, Will said if he gets to play at noon, he could complete 80% of his passes. LAUGHTER So I think the controversy's over, so, you get a noon kickoff, he'll complete 80, so I think we can all, I know a lot of people have problems with what we're doing, but if it means a quarterback can complete 80% of his passes, we'll take it. When you watched him, and for you got to know him here, did you see a 74% pass or that he is there?

No, I just watched Highlight's Will when I got, he was already here, so I wasn't recruiting him, it was just, you know, I got everybody that was on offense, they put together a hit tape for everybody at every position, you know, I got a chance to kind of buzz that, and then, you know, a week later, we were on the field, so, but I think with everything, his knowledge of the game continues to expand, and the more he understands, and has a real good feel for what we're doing, you know, Will has a lot of input in terms of what we do, game plan wise, what do you like, what don't you like, you know, what do you feel comfortable with, and as we get to know Will better, and he gets to know us better, I think you're starting to see that kind of really mesh together, so. No, because I've seen it in practice, you know, the other thing that Will can do, he does two things really well. Number one, he can see, because he's so big, he stands in the pocket really, really well, and he's tough, you know, and I think that's one such an underrated quality for any quarterback, you know, the ability to stand in the pocket while people are literally trying to take your head off, you know, and not worry about the rush, but always keep your eyes focused down field,

looking for receivers, trying to get open at certain times, or if it's an off schedule play, trying to keep off schedule plays alive, but I think that's part of Will's nature that I think is toughness, is the ability to see the whole field while he's in the pocket, are two big things in terms of his accuracy. All right, I'm very WBNF. So this is kind of uncharted waters with the new playoffs system and everything from an offensive standpoint. How much of the offense is in, and are you holding things back because there's some confusion? I mean, how do you manage all that? Yeah, I don't think we hold anything back. I think our offense is always game plan specific in terms of who we're playing, and how do we attack what they do? Each defense, each defense, your face is somewhat unique, you know, and so you can say, this team's a little bit like this team, but not totally like that team. So I think it's not, hey, this is a really good play. Let's not run it because we're gonna need it down the road. It's, you know, you have to win every game. And I don't think you can take that approach of let's save this for another game

because you don't know how games are gonna express themselves during the course of the game itself. So everything we do is just game plan specific, especially now that we've gotten in a conference play. All right, pretty much in. Yeah, I mean, we could add stuff that I think we may have done in the spring, but we haven't used yet just because we haven't faced that defense yet. Thanks for the whole work, better than all. Chip, in 2022, your UCLA offensive line was a semi-finals for the Joe Borow Award. Today, there's some offensive lines, maybe semi-finals for that. Do you see similarities for the way that that unit was played and the way that Justin had your guys play right now? Um, do I make me think back? I think they're different. I don't really upset it before. I'm not into comparing one group to another group. I didn't know that that's pretty cool for those guys. That's a prestigious award. You know, those guys usually go unnoticed. You know, that's the nature of the position if you're an offensive lineman. They, you know, they're either close or too valuable hardware. They don't really get a lot of attention. They're not, they're not the guys that are out

in the limelight, let's some of these other guys, but they work their tails off. You know, I think that's the, the gist of anything that's gonna be a really good football team has to be strong on both lines and on the fact that they've been recognized for that that's something that's, that's pretty cool. But now we gotta live up, we gotta live up to that standard every day. So. You guys don't know how I started those awards, that's good, just to see the, the way that those guys have responded since losing Josh. Mm-hmm. As a player and the leader and dog and some, how have you, have I waited that? What do you think of being in the way that's playing without you? I've been really impressed. And I think really Donnie and Seth have really stepped up in, in, in that leadership port, you know, and I think the two of those guys have really kind of led from the front to tough, hard-knosed physical players. Obviously Donnie being selfish and moving from left guard to left tackle was a really big deal for us. And he continues to work at his craft every day because, you know, I think everybody just thinks all line, but you know, all five of those positions are really different. And it's not easy to go from one position to another position. And the fact that Donnie's done that has been great.

And I think Seth really, because he calls all of our identifications and directs what our blocking schemes will be, you know, is really kind of fell into that leadership role force. And I think our guys are rallying behind those two. All right, Dave Holmes. WSYF. Ryan talked a little bit about his upbringing at Fenway Park in the store at baseball. And he's willing to get your thoughts on playing a game in Wrigley. Yeah, I think it's cool. You know, I, I, I've not seen, I've seen just highlights of a football game in there. And I've been to a game at Wrigley when I was out recruiting once, but the fact that you can play in settings like that is, is pretty cool. And I think it makes it unique. You know, obviously, they're refurbishing their stadium. So, you know, they got to be on the, they got to either build the one that they did on campus or go to Wrigley. So the fact that we get to be the one team that plays in Wrigley, I think it'll be pretty cool. And I think our players won't enjoy that. Awesome. One of the podcasts, Chip, I know every, every game plan every week is, is different, contingent on the opponent. But it's felt like the last couple of game plans have leaned a little bit more on Will's over Russian threat. What's, what's motivating that decision? The defenses that the people deploy, you know,

sometimes they always have an extra guy in the box. And if you run the quarterback, then that evens numbers back out. It's as simple as that. You know, some teams don't do that. And other teams do do that. So, you know, it's just sometimes when you get, especially when you get in a conference play, I think there's a lot of people in this league that know how to stop the run. So, you know, you got to be able to have a mobile quarterback and it helps the Will has that mobility. Bill Landis, team to the north. Chip, do you ever integrate off the play or change something up kind of just for the sake of doing it to break a tendency or put something different on film or is it always opponent specific? No, it's always opponent specific, but you still self-scout yourself and what are we doing out of this formation and what is our run pass ratio? And even within that, within out of this formation all runs are this, you know? And then that's always the fine line. Well, we should do something different. Well, what we're doing is working. Why would we do something different? You know, so you kind of play that game and go back and forth with it. But we're constantly working on self-scout of ourselves

and tendencies that we're trying to just understand. But some tendencies are good tendencies. You know, you could be, hey, you're 90% run out of this formation. You're also 90% success out of this formation. So, you know, do you not call that ever again because you think that they think that you think this, you know, you can get into that real dilemma of just, you know, it's still about executing and still about lighting up and playing. So, but we do spend a lot of time on that. That's part of what our weekly game plan meetings are about. We have a lot of community more emphasis on that in a college football season. They can now be 17, 18 games where you want to make sure you're sprinkling in different things so that if you could game 17 and a team has a pretty expansive football on you guys, you know, why is that they can't, you know, key in on something you've done all year. You want to make sure you have those changes. Yeah, there has to be some of those. But again, I think you can drive yourself crazy when we put this on tape and they think that we can do this because they know that we can do that. And we do that. And I didn't make any sense what I just said. And that's what's going on in your head when you're starting to think about all that stuff too.

So, it's that process. You know, I still think you have to part of being really good at it is what are we good at and how do we continue to be good at it so that everybody in the stadium doesn't know, hey, they're running the ball over the right side on this play because that's what they always do. You know, I think you're still trying to mass some of those things, but you still have to play to your strengths. Can you give me a few breaths? And you have what? Ship, you kind of offered a question about what's running. I think maybe the last thing I got a couple of weeks ago, you mentioned you don't have to be nice to talk about it to be power all the time. But how have you seen Will's progression in understanding or reading what he does his want and to do it when it comes to handing off to you or trying to pulling or is that more when you guys only have a bunch of bulldozers or something more. No, no, it's a good question. We don't tell him we want you to do this or want you to do that. It's totally a lot of that stuff is if it's a read play, it's he has to read it out and how he sees it. Just like we don't tell him where to throw,

you know, it's the plays called to the Curl or the flat, but it depends, those are defender defend the Curl or defender flat. You can't tell him before the play, throw the curl because I know the guy's going to chase the flat. Well, then he sits in the curl and you throw a pick and it's coach told me to go there. You know, we know we told you to read this play. So it's the same thing with some of the read plays that we run, and I think he does a really good job. You know, he was really well trained. I think Chris climate does a great job and Colin climate did a great job at K-State. You know, so Will's got a really, really good understanding of our running game. You know, it was more of just learning the terminology here as opposed to what it was like there, but I think he does a really, really good job of that. And when we put something in new, it may be new to this unit, but it's not new to Will. It's just, oh yeah, we run this. And then we'll go back and actually look at K-State tape with him and kind of pick his brain, how do you read it? And how was it presented to you? And what's the best way for us to present it? So that we can execute? You're a god of information to this fact. What do you see as the advantage from huddling more and just sort of playing the slower pace

of playing offense versus past couple years, ATV river, we're more place, prevent it from your arm, now pace a little slower, just what is the advantage of that? Yeah, I think you can communicate better. You know, so obviously the thing that's changed this season, and I think a lot of people have slowed down, is the ability for the quarterback to communicate with everybody before the play. You know, before it was just everything was driven by signals and everybody was looking to the sideline and then getting everybody on the same page. So there's some teams and sometimes when that's to your advantage. You know, I think more people do it to us because they don't want to mow in our hands so that I think the game has, we don't get as many possessions right now as we have in the past. Just because I think both sides are doing it a little bit more. But I think the communication thing that you're allowed to talk to the quarterback up to 15 seconds on the play clock is one of the advantages of Huddling. You're not going to get to the game, but you guys have also done it? You need to get more out. Does it keep you going to be able to do the other team? Yeah, it gives us an advantage again

from being able to communicate so what will can talk to the offensive line about, you know, and remain like normally you'd send a play in, but he couldn't give them like, hey, these guys are 85% twist and boundary corner on this play. So make sure that we're really high alert for that. You know, so there's a lot more that goes on. It's not a two-way conversation because he can't talk back to you. But, you know, we have a style of speaking in that situation so that we can communicate some different things. Before it was, you just called the play and broke. Now you can give them a lot more information, you know what I mean? There may be a player got injured the play before. Hey, there's a new left corner in the number 15. We talked about him. We saw him on film. This is what he's susceptible to. Let's make sure we're attacking him when you know he's in. Instead of you waited till you get to the sideline between series and go, hey, there's a new corner and I didn't know he was in. But you can communicate that stuff now. Give me. Let him in. Thanks, Jerry. Paul and I pulled that a little bit or just on offensive plays. Do you ever have times in games where you have to say to yourself, I got to be disciplined here. I got to call some run plays.

I know it sounds kind of stupid, but I mean, to have the balance when you look at this lineup with Jeremiah and Mecca and Carnail and, you know, you could throw them all 50 times a game and nobody would question that either. You're still on the same. Does it take discipline to also stay with the run game? I think it takes discipline to know what the defense is trying to take away from you. So, you know, for you to try to continue to throw it if they're going to play high-safedies and light boxes, you know, you should be running it more than, you know, and when people are loading up the box, take away your run and saying, hey, we're not going to let you run the ball in the situation. And you are still trying to run the ball in the situation. That's what I think the discipline is. So, sometimes it's not consecutive plays in a row or a series, it's just kind of, what are they like? Because you take, say you're playing Northwest, you have nine game breakdown in Northwestern. This is what they've done for their last nine games. What, as you go into the really first, second, third series of a game, is what we saw in the last nine games actually happening in this game.

And if it is, then we're pretty solid in terms of our game plan. If not, then you may have to morph a little bit towards run or a little bit towards pass based upon how they decided they were going to come out this week. Because they may have come out in the previous nine weeks and done this, but in your game, they're doing it a little bit differently. So, it's the ability to make those adjustments and kind of lean one way or the other. You know, I think is the discipline part you're talking about. Not just saying, well, we're just going to chuck it. But if they're playing really deep and you're still trying to throw it deep, then that's not smart either, you know. How do we necessarily throw it deep every time? Okay. You just want us to throw it every time? Yeah, yeah. That's fine. I'm not going to let the loss of winning down or down. But follow up. Well, once you can. You're not a what he haze guy then, huh? Yeah. Well, come on. You can't go both ways. I've never been out of win with Texas. Okay. See, you're not a bear brank guy. Yeah. Yeah. We've gone by that layer. Okay. When you walk into a place like Wrigley Field, you seem to have a feel for history and stuff. I mean, Gail Sayers ran there, you know. Dick Buck is playing there.

Yeah. Most people, they take that they're all played and so is your field and stuff. I think about that kind of where you are. I will Friday because we're actually going to get to the stadium and get a chance to kind of look around and see what it looks like. But is that aimed at the. Oh, yeah. It always does. I mean, I love whenever we were wherever I've been, when you get a chance to go play in some of these iconic stadiums and players that you saw when you were growing up and play here, that's always a really cool part about what we get to do. But yeah, that'll be. It'll be fun. I think everybody's excited about playing this game. Great. Go. Thank you very much. All right. So, you know, energy hit on Brandon bringing more energy. What do you thought of Brian Arlein kind of running the song? It's in a way he's still managed to work with the receiver through him. I'm happy for him. We are. He finally got the keys. He's finally going to be able to probably tell us the ball more. And the what else? Now, how do you see Jeremiah pushing himself to keep getting better after a year he had last year? Oh, I'm just probably going to be more consistent. I mean, there's a lot of things he could probably. He thinks he can improve himself in probably some parts

like making the hard catches or probably just blocking or like footwork, like little things like that. Do you guys see that just in practice here? Improvements with maybe we're not seeing, but you guys see behind the scenes. Oh, yeah. We see it. We definitely see the improvement. We see it when he first came here until now. He's improved a lot. He's only getting better. We come out of the open. We also said a lot of that. He's a big, big, big, big, big, big. You know, we can't look that. What about what a mechanism for you guys as a leader making his experience? I'm like a fellow back home. Mecha talked to, he talked to each and every one of us. He had a relationship, a connection with each and every one of us. We were able to come out Mecha as a man before a player in the teammate. So he allowed us to do that and open up our eyes. How's that going for you? I was going good. I'm able to talk to more players. I'm connected with other guys I've never talked to before or hanging around. Other groups I've never hanged around. I'm also talking to the younger guys, helping them make sure they're good. You really try to focus on what's going to be good.

You're better. I'm improving probably just being more vocal. That's me coming out of my comfort zone. I'm usually just a lead by example guy. So being more vocal for the guys around me. Being heard more. What do they talk about? It was always something that I could work on myself. And then they also just told me, like there's no leadership in the room now with a Mecha gun. There's like really no leadership on the team outside of what probably was sunny. And they're guys that play. They said when you talk people will listen. So we need that from you guys. What's it been like going up against these corners and practicing this? How talented is that group? It's been really well. They're all really good. So you want something to lose. I'm ever there for competing. You better. Who's the best trash talker of the corners? And who's the best trash talker of the receivers? Corners probably IGB receiver Brandon. Brandon, I'll tell you what you've been asked this already. But how do you see Brandon in this step up this spring? Brandon is more and more vocal. He's obviously has a bigger role this year. He's becoming more vocal. So I love that for him.

Is there any different physically with him? He looks like a fast. Yeah, Brandon slipped down. We think it's a jersey that we're going from 11 to 1. Yeah, he's slipped down and got faster. So yeah. I'm just like World War II. Mine? I probably just see the ball more often this year. I mean, you're absolutely right. I see you're all from Shadow. Yeah. Look at that. Look at that. It's just true at all. That's true. Yeah. I mean, it's only one ball. It's only like we got probably like six offensive guys. You got to get the ball to two right in the back. Three good receivers. Nine ends, a quarter back. It's only one ball. Maybe you're impressed with the offensive ball. Of course, he's a great guy. He's a very determined. Like he's probably the hardest workout I've seen around. What's the biggest differences between Chip Galley and what happened to him? Chip Galley was more laid back. I mean, he was in our position. We didn't really hear him talking. He probably just talked to the quarterback. But you can hear him on the field, y'all, and the screaming. It was the life that you thought about that.

Chip was leaving and then that went up and down. I was happy for Chip. I probably didn't say he, I didn't think he'd probably go stay for too long. I mean, it's hard to turn down a job like that. Opportunity is like that. So I'm happy for him. I'm also very happy for Coach Arlon who's waiting his time here to continue to be here and stay here for the ropes. From Ryan Day, promoting from that. I just learned Ryan Day believes in his guys. He wasn't there keeping it within the end of the day. You're trying to say you're asking for more of open for too. That's not his part. But you know, all you see is him. He's definitely been talking more and more. He's getting more comfortable with it. Like guys like him when he talks to people, listen. And watch what he does. Two more questions. Yeah. Oh, it's very special. Being back home, that's my first time playing back there since high school. So a lot to be in Chicago and also to getting there for my family. Probably 30, 40. Yeah.

It was a blessing for me definitely. Yeah. I'm never, now I've never been a baseball guy. That was my first time. Yeah. It was great. Rigg is a very short fill. Hopefully I could catch you again this year. Yeah. Last year was one of those years where he really didn't care about maybe his status. Yeah. And what he needs to do is to be like now to see him step up as a waiter and kind of fill in. And pick him in the end of the world. Oh, my mom. Brandon's always got his time high. He always knew he had the way his opportunities. His chance and the opportunity to come in. When he's there again on the field, he made plays and took the make the best of each and every opportunity. He's happy. He's a great mentor. He knows that he has a big role this year. He knows we're expecting a lot from him. So I'm happy for him. He's happy for himself and I just can't wait for him to go show it. Can you play all the roles in the play? For me? Yeah.

I don't know. That's the culture player. Yeah. I'm kind of just not trying to look still look up to Jack and JT and kind of have my own kind of leadership and be able to bring people into. So I feel like we kind of have a lot of leaders on the D line and at the D in position. So we kind of all kind of just count off each other and go. It's been a tough time. We've been through the game for a whole bit of time. We've been up to our guys playing with them all. We've been on the field and just got there and just went there now. And we've tried to keep us from moving. So we've used guys, how's that transition going to be? It's good competitive. We love it. We all competitive people. We all love to push each other. And I feel like we're bringing the best side of all of this. I feel like we all just kind of bouncing off each other. We see what one person does and we kind of split it into our two-box. And we all kind of just kind of build one great thing. You ever were last year and you got to get the shot at full-backing. And did they approach you with that idea and you could help them? I mean, how did that come about? Because you heard Jack's all yours lobby. You could have touched that. So I definitely did it in high school.

I was pulled back and a little bit of tidied in. So I feel like it kind of saw what I could do there in Coach Wilson. Honestly, he left watching it too before he left. And he felt like he'd play in that seat in Coach Day's head. And Coach Day kind of just went for it. And I tried to do the best I could to do it. Is that continuing now? Do anything to spring? New play, but I did not know yet. I haven't got that far. How topos have you seen that? Are you a look at tackle? I like to think of myself as a football player. I can really play any position on the field. You need me to just give me a weaker two to learn it and kind of perfect it. And I'll try to do my best for you. I can do the same thing. Oh yeah. But what about what? Roughly, that's what I... Kayden is talking to Coach Johnson on Tuesday about some of the conversations. And sort of saw you and got out to have some conversations after JT and Jack decided to contact. We're going to win into those from your perspective. And how did that help you maybe get the right mindset against community this time? Definitely kind of seeing it all the way through. I feel like people kind of just see what happened.

And they don't know everything that goes into it. How long the season is now. What you got to do to prepare for and what to happen in all that time from here to then. So I feel like we definitely just coached in me kind of connected. And maybe we kind of just talk man or man. And he kind of just said straight to me. And I feel like we kind of both are going on. Right, let's make it together. We make each other better every day. We got the four best DNs. Five best DNs, honestly. And the college football. And we're going to be one of the best DLines and college football. How do you feel like a better player today at any more of you in this season? Well, I feel like I've taken big steps in my roles of just being responsible and being more of a leader. And kind of stepping up and taking a step to kind of get out there more on the team and kind of bring people in. And I feel like I'm kind of helping out more. How do you record head around the basketball team at TKFC? Is it sound? I mean, it sounds bizarre, but I mean the season goes by so fast already. So when you're kind of like week 10 and you're like, wow, it's already week 10. So now it's kind of gives you more time to kind of enjoy it and kind of savor it.

Because you've come already here for a feeling of refreshments. But you don't want to spend all your powder in the first month of the year, right? I mean, there is a pace yourself there. I mean, there is a mindset. Yeah, definitely. Definitely going to have the mental stability to handle all those weeks and all those practices. How much has Larry talked to you guys about the good? The last question right here. 2016, 2017, 4 NFL defense awards all in the same organization. How much does he talk to that guy? I mean, he doesn't have to talk about it. We know about it. You've seen it every day. We watch the film. We see them all working together. We know what it could be. We know we could become. So we know we're right at the same, we're at the right place at the right time. And God wanted us to be here. And He knew we wanted us all to come together and kind of play together and be able to bounce off and just perfect our craft together. And I feel like we all are just great individuals and we come together at something special. You, Caleb and Nathan, grown through, especially the last half of the season, you know, especially like they've been using you, you know, and that almost saved you whole stuff.

How much is it grown that you can put your finger on? Yeah, I was growing immensely. I mean, Caleb, he makes a lot of checks. Nathan makes a lot of checks. I listen to them. Whatever they need, if I need to cover somebody, I will cover anybody. If they need me to do run support, I'll do run support. And it's really what Caleb does, what we do and Nathan. It just goes back to Coach G's preparation and everyone's preparation to give us more flexibility and it doesn't matter who's in those positions. And we can all play every position whether it's covering somebody or running and tackling. Did you feel like that was the case before the Oregon game? You're saying what I'm saying? I mean, is it something that's been added? It just, you know, rely on a little bit more. Go ahead. Yeah, it did. I was probably playing Nebraska game, Megan and more safety reps. And we had a five week to prepare. So I really learned to play book a lot more. Even though I knew the playbook, I learned a lot more. Like in debt, you know, so really just after the Oregon game, it helped me a lot to go back to safety.

Go to NICU everywhere. Nathan, both left and Oregon. You guys had a lot of issues of giving up big plays in the passing game of the first game against Oregon. What do you feel if you guys need to do better this time around to make sure that doesn't happen? Just the same same mindset. We got to challenge these receivers. You know, every dog has her day. Maybe some people didn't have their day that game, but we'll look out there and hopefully change the narrative. And we still play with the same confidence, same technique and, yeah. Bill, we're bandwidth. What is this batch? And TenZell obviously had a tough game and that one. What have you seen from him and how he's responded? Do you get a sense of from him? How he's for this rematch? Oh, yeah, he's super stoked for this rematch. His preparation has been very good. He's always been preparing, you know, it didn't go the way he wanted to go that game. But he just always had his confidence. And we're going to see a big game out of him this week.

And, you know, I know you guys wanted to play them in anapolis. But the fact that you get to play them at the Rose Bowl, I mean, get a second chance. And people have said, you don't get that very often. How determined are you guys to take advantage of it? We're super, super determined. We watched film. I mean, we've lost a lot of film. The first time we played them, now we've got another six games that they played up film to watch. And it's just, they've grown a lot as a team. Same as us. We've grown a lot. We're not the same team. We were when we played them week one or weeks, six or whatever. But now we're out there and going to play fast, physical and everything like that. All right, Jordan, we're going to jump to the zoom question here from Joey Coffman. Columbus, this match. Oh, my bad. Not too joy. Cameron T. Robinson, the athletic. Hey, Jordan, you've moved around a lot in the second day in your career. And now kind of getting some many more safety reps. What is it like at this point when when Walt or Coach Mills comes to you and asks you do some else?

And just how much can you lean on the experiences you've had moving around when you're trying to learn something new in the middle of season? Means a lot. We always talk about this is being on selfish. Whether that's making plays or not making plays or doing your job so another person can make plays. That's kind of what we pride ourselves on. And it's just fun. Me moving around different positions. I'm always up for a new challenge. And a lot of people in the country can't do that. I just hold myself to that standard where I can play any position and excel at it. Okay. Anybody else need to question? Let me know. But otherwise we can go to Austin more of the podcast. Jordan, when you were talking about watching film, Oregon, which one do you think is more valuable to you watching that against yourself? You know, seven games ago, even if you've changed or the ensuing six games for Oregon, which one do you put more stock in? Kind of both. For me, I kind of watch what I did. Things I did well.

Things I didn't do too well against them. And their team is changing. That life, their scheme has changed. Some players have been out those those stretch of games. So I really watched the past game we played. And I know they're going to go back to some of the stuff that they liked, of course. And different games like Penn State, maybe Illinois, they run a lot of men. So just watching, watching stuff like that. Every game matters. So yeah. Jordan, thank you very much. Thank you. Me and Lil are very vocal. Even in practice a lot of times, just things they go my way in the game, but even in practice a lot. Yeah, take care. I was very comfortable with Lil. More vocal guys. But working in that offer, put it back down here doing a little job. Just put it into big sea loads. Taking our feedback, not for its criticism, but just because we love it. Just doing that and just keep rolling on that all the way to fall. And I'm going to take first game. Just take. You are doing some more outside for you. You're stuck as well. I said go for three. Yeah, I've been more the more years you get under your belt, the more experience you get.

You can start knowing this offense more and more and not just your position or what you're doing. Like everybody's job, what you doing, how you doing and why you doing it. So I mean, yeah, I've been I've been wrapping the outside ZXH. Anywhere coach on me is me. And I'm just really be that guy and go make a play on it. What's the biggest difference for you between outside ZXH? The pace. A route concept, you can kind of get the pace you can play within the slides more for Nesgame and the slide. Something I got very comfortable with. Just the ways you can attack the defense, I think. And just you know, conceptually and also just, you're placed down. But I mean, just doing both and just making me a better guy for the NFL. And that's what Coach Hancock plays a time and time. Produce it on the third time and produce it on the third guy. So I'm feeling very comfortable with that. Do you have to have a different mindset as a slide receiver? That's what went on in the middle of the game. Absolutely. I think it's more thinking. I think it's more of a, you have to understand another game a lot. And the slide you've got to have a feel, that have, this is natural.

I feel like it's more natural to position. And on the outside it's just more, you know, get different things and see different coverage. You see different player types of corners and nickel bats and safety. More on the slide. So just seeing how you can attack knowing your person now and how you can attack certain people. I say the biggest difference. Do you have that more courage? Say one more time. Do you have that more courage in the slide? Oh yeah, absolutely. Especially like being myself in the slide faster. I'm a skinnier guy than when I put hands on it. I want to get physical with you. But you just got to match that and just let them know that you there too. So you as a balanced question, whatever gets you on the deal, regardless inside outside. I'm just willing to make plays and show one one of the best receivers in America. So if that's in the outside, that's in the inside. Whatever coach hotline in this team needs me help us land in the show. And the best receivers in America. Thank you, Bill, sir. I'm really the... I would say I'm not sure but I know I'm the best. I would say I'm not sure but I know that we are the toughest in our team.

I know it's done. We do everything. You got the tape and the screen? I wouldn't have backed up. I would say we wanted to be that in the screen. But now we are in the ball. I don't know where that happened. I don't know how the mentality and how we're going to bring a max along. I'm trying to see if it's going to run off the wall and not really dedicate. He's picked that up and he's done really, really well. So I think the whole unit now will work tough in that version of the ball and taking them out. What's the big deal? I think you're a definitely good guy. Yeah. How do you feel about that? Well, I would say that as you know, I would go to the sidearm camp. And when you see the minuscermage and if you're going... If you're pushing the guy, pass the last image, it's a plus. If you go to the door to my bag, come up the ball and hit the guy. And then why would I say that? I'm telling the max and other guys, I'm a teller. It's when I was in the off the ball and the dose of lightning. I don't know who was the one who called that. I'm running through the target camp. I'm running through that area. If I miss my missful state, you know, we're not...

I'm not as big as that. I'm not as big as that. I'm not as strong as those guys. So we need to create our own momentum and it turns out like where I think we're going to know. That's how it has to be. But, so it can... I'm 10-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9. I do have a number of things to do. But I'm going to show you what I know. It's because I can actually have an hour, so very carefully. So that would be a chance in the last two. Yeah. I'm going to show you what you're going to have to have the paint and you have to get the paint to go towards the top. Probably. Alright, great. I would think so. I mean, when you watch the office line, the ball... It's just been really, really good to see. It's just telling us I was running the plane ball. And we've seen some good struts there. So this would be really, really cool downhill team. I'm excited for a little bit of recognition. I don't know. That'd be very, just a journey. That's what I can do. I'm going to put it all in my hand. I don't want to see you. I just hear it. I don't know if that really led you. Maybe I'll have to do a couple of that later. I don't know if you're going to love it. Yeah. Yeah, so last year I was at non-travel, obviously. So I would come in there in three hours before it seemed to be walking.

I would set up a guys' back for a walker. And I would set up a satellite with my jersey on and walking. And so I can't say it did. But I have learned, like I've said before, I've learned from it. But like, man, when I have to be like set up like you guys do, it's like you're really like, you don't take it for granted. And I think that a game-based experience really just let me be thinking of the things that we've got. I think it's really good. Yeah. That's what I was doing. Yeah. Yeah. What's going on? I don't know. How about that, though? It's awesome. It's really nice. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. How do you use the aloe? I don't know. You're working on your tech heroes as a bot. It's been also working on your tech heroes as a bot. Yeah. I mean, I'm not a threat to this, but I was thinking 50% of this is 25% of the price. What about holding Simon on? It's 20%. It's a little boldest coverage. I promise I'll be a lot harder for this squad.

But I think everybody best rides on the pass, going around and on the edge of the game. I'm really focused on the moment that I didn't know I was off that zone. Thank you very much. Thank you, Ben. Yeah. It's been a lot of fun. You need just a hard hit from the start. Yeah. Of course, the one really helped me out. I really did have some days I have trouble, but I just gained a film, then I'll film. Can you play in that zone right here? Yeah, I can. Can you play a beat up by? Yeah. Are you a type of coach on there? Are you so working on the beat? I was at Alta. I've been in the bot lane. You have a perfect game. Alta, can you time this one? I mean, I don't know. It can't really mean me out by it. You can't even talk to that guy. Yeah. I mean, obviously, because the wall has to be where you're doing some water, and now you're in the sort of handle-log that you can't finish using. You feel like you're still trying to carve out a wall, or is your wall just offensively? I think my wall is aimed at like, they've been going on time.

I'm a time-place of play. It's wherever it is left right inside of us. I feel like they were going on a time-place for me to play. And I'm just trying to get better at the play. And I was like, you know, you've been attacked and stunned. What makes that more fun? It's not the world that's like, it's not faster than I thought. I'm a little bit more self-like that. You can see what's going on. I like being out of the higher level. Yeah. You can talk to Donovan at all, whether it be during the last season or this whole season, just about what was it he for him to be able to move around and do different things? Yeah. He's been back here, compared to him. I will talk to him about some stuff. And he's really been helping me like, like, priestnap with the VN and how the sword is turned, like what's expected to be passed right in front of him. And I'm grateful for that. He can go in through it and then help him go through it. How long have you been here? I've heard that. How long have you been here?

I mean, just how I was raised, I just know how to work. That's all I have to do. I'm just giving effort and just going east out of it. I want to say this with full respect. When we see JJ and Sonny, it's like, that makes sense. When you're the third guy, were you surprised to be named? What puts you in that same category? Yeah, I was a little surprised. I kind of have a feeling because I kind of like, I mean, I kind of could have guessed it. But I just knew that I was one of my goals at Thompson to be an Iron Buckeye. And I just couldn't work there with another guy. So what did you get in now? What did it mean? How did you take that? It was really special right after I texted my parents. And they really knew what it meant until the video came out and the question they explained it to us. So then absolutely totally surprised me. Back then, it was playing a full-time stand-by card in games. Did you just detail the difficulties of going back and forth?

Not just like we were learning them, but actually having to play both of those cards. Yeah, it's pretty difficult, especially during the game. You have to put the whole mind around. It's not easier in practice because it's not getting like several down. I was going to left in my end game. It was pretty hard, but like in high school, it was every other player I was in back and forth with the triple-out. So I knew it. I was comfortable with it. And sometimes I just take a warm walk into the basketball. I was kind of like saved to be able to say a point in it. And one more time, so I get into my head. He's bringing two bags in with a ring. He's got a ton of regular hugs. I'm just going to put it out. I'm going to put it out. I'm going to put it out. Yeah, so I got to set the example. And then, like, my first two weeks here, I was like teaching them. I don't know what they're expecting these plays, because I've seen some new plays for them. And even new defense, I like technique too, because I keep the same technique.

But just helping them out, because we need all of those. What do you like, when did you idea of playing back what you're going to come about? They're about like, raffes. You know, when you're going to game, when you're going to win, how do you like to come about? It came close to the springtime. They wanted to have, they just wanted to have a good fight out there, and they want to play the best, so they just didn't like to choose. What do you want to do all of such a high-spot? They're awesome. They're great. A lot of eyes, and it's awesome, because everyone's watching something. It's not like someone's only watching this place, so you know what's going on. You're going to be reading back to you after a play, after a practice, and all three off-world. It's awesome. They tell you everything, because they know what's the last I had with Coach Johnson, and Coach Dickie's watching 11 and Coach O'Neill, and feels a lot from it. So you know what's going on, you know? How was the experience that you got at the big reps in the big games? All that helped. It was like coming into the sun. It really boosted my confidence. And I can lead the young guys too,

because I know it was going on, because they really don't really... This is first time spring, so I like to be on the level. My stuff's like just that leadership level. Resortility has also been mentioned a lot. It's been all both sides of the ball playing in different spots. You know, I rate on that. Yeah. This... Congratulations. Before this draft, Densel Ward was asked about what buck eyes he wanted to have on the team. And your name was brought up, and he said that it would be a great addition for you to come on the team and join him on this roster. And him to have said that about you before you were picked. What does that mean to you? I mean, you know, two or higher guys growing up here, you know, three or higher is just a great feeling. You know, we're real familiar with the area, and you know, to stay here our whole career. I mean, from top-oriented to highest school middle school, or to college, or high school, you know, and then still being home at the top of the peak of the level. So just great. Hey, Michael. We know you ended up at Streetsboro,

but I understand you started Benedict. Think, could you... Where were you born and how did you end up in Streetsboro? I'm so born in Garfield Heights originally. And then I lived there just about my title, I think, and then when I got to age, it was a 15. That was like at the end of Benedicta. And then my mom promised me, I bought a Streetsboro. That was a... Well, it was a better pay. So she decided, you know, it was better for us to move out there. And Benedicta was going to be our driver every day to get to school, so it just wasn't beneficial to her. So my last three years of high school out there, Streetsboro, my sophomore year senior year. Hey, Michael, Tom, where there's some of the AP? We saw it on TV just a little while ago. Then you became a dad during the season last year. What's fatherhood been like for you? How's that changed you? Yeah, it's been a great addition to my life for sure. You know, teaching me a lot of patience. You know, just being a favorite old part of my... I'm like a part of that, I can't really speak.

I mean, it's just the best feeling for him to even be around this or witness in this. He's in all the videos and, you know, just give him something good and look back on like, you know, dang, my dad did some real positive stuff. Hey, Mike, Chris Eastman, Renei, I can be conjournal. You've talked about playing, you know, coming, you know, staying in the same area and, you know, playing in your backyard. Do you feel like, you know, that puts... I don't want to say put pressure, but... The opportunity to sort of be, you know, be a role model, be... You know, be someone that, hey, look, like you say, I came from here, I can look where I can go. How much do you sort of take that, you know, take that mindset, take, you know, you take that responsibility on? So, I mean, I'm not one of those guys who's going to run away from the pressure. I mean, I went to it, a little ahead on. So, you know, it's going to be a lot of pressure on me playing in my hometown. You know, a lot of people are going to have to buy the information. But, you know, at the end of the day, as a player, I still have the man,

that I have to be in touch. And so, I'm going to hold myself very, you know, high on that, hold myself accountable. And just got to be the best player that I can be at control of the trouble. Michael, I'm sure you watched the success that Dewan Jones had. Here last year, as a rookie, how excited are you to join Dewan and maybe kind of follow in his footsteps in getting off to a great start as a rookie? Oh, yeah, that's my dog, you know, Dewan. He just called me right before this. I mean, we were talking about this the whole time, even on my portal. In my 30 days visit, you know, there's a saying like, man, if you get here, it's going to be so, like, you know, the best duo, like, and all of that, you know, all of his defense wise. And we bring a lot of juice and practice, even at our own stage. So I know it's going to be, you know, 10 times more at the, you know, next level. But really blessed to be able to play with it for my brother, I put in my brother for life. Hey, Mike, I guess your teammates started calling you baby Aaron Donald pretty early on.

Is that true? And I guess what did that mean to you're that from them? I feel like that's a, you know, that's a great, you know, that's a great experience for sure. You know, a lot of people can't just be compared to that. So, you know, like, I mean, it just shows, you know, how, how my teammates are. Far about me, but, you know, just really appreciative of them. It's just be around surrounded by guys, you know, that's top of the top best of the best, you know, in the country. Hey, Michael Ashley Pastak from Cleveland.com again. We ask every D line men who gets drafted here about the opportunity to play with Miles Garrett. Just how much does that excite you knowing the season he's coming off of and how excited are you to get a chance to pick his brain every day? Oh, yeah, no doubt. Me from day one, I'm definitely going to be, you know, whatever he does, I mean, he's just real, you know, aware of like, you know, how does he get his body right? You know, what are you doing? What are you doing after practice? Just, you know, those guys, those veterans, they're not there for no reason.

They're not in the league, you know, playing multiple years back to back having these great seasons, you know, so it's just, it's just a great honor to be around somebody like that. And, you know, it's just going to be like, I got to come in and put my heart on from day one until, you know, whenever I leave. Michael, how much interaction did you have with Jim Schwartz in this whole process? See the pro day or your visit here? Yeah, it was just really just my visit here. Yeah, Coach Worsh was just, you know, he and me and coach Jack were all me. It's all all throughout there. We're, hey, we're all home, but they were just, you know, surrounded by me throughout the whole day. So, you know, just building a great relationship from the beginning. We came to you, came to that trip. And Michael, I know obviously the Ohio State guys, there's a bunch of guys that went back this next year where you tempted it all to go back and try to chase the championship with those guys. Like, how close did you actually come to that before you decided to go to the NFL? I kind of made my decision before I to see you start it. I was pretty sure on that, you know, especially when I had my son late in the year.

I solidified it. You know, it wasn't like I was tempted to go back. I mean, for sure. I mean, I feel like, you know, it's still, it's still unfinished business. But, you know, my car has to do with what was right from my family. And it was just, it was just better for that. You know, in that way, I got a, I can't think about it as just a media personal, you know, saying preference. Got to think about it as a, you know, as a whole. Darryus, Darren Urban from AZCarnels.com. I know that a lot of players these days aren't sticking in one school for a long time. You did it for five years. I mean, you even Marvin did it for three. Like, what, what, what behind that? And why wasn't meaningful for you to stand one school? Yes, I'm a Zura. You know, we had some tough seasons, but we were really built with an edge. Energy details, grit and emotional consistency. And I just find myself just trying to grow and get better each year. And also as a team, you know, win more games each year. And that was my, that was my home. That was my family. I was blessed to, you know, get two degrees as well off the field. And I just love Mizzou.

Two degrees. Wow. Marvin, Bob McManum, Arizona Republic. Congratulations. Thank you to both of you. You're known as all business. And I want to know how that's going to serve you well in this league from personal standpoint. Your brand, everything you do, a daily preparation. There's a lot that goes into being all business. Tell me what that is to you. Yeah, I mean, that's just being a pro. It's kind of raised and grew up to do. And keep your same mindset, same attitude that I've had throughout my whole career. Once I get here, continue work hard, be consistent and disciplined. You know, all that I do. So I'm looking forward to putting in the work. Hey, Marvin, Josh Wayne, for ESPN. What were the best pieces of advice your dad gave you about being an NFL player? I mean, yeah, it takes a lot of work, a lot of preparation. No, from Monday to Saturday. It's all working. And then Sunday should be the easy part. I go out there, have fun, right? Put the work in. So, and starts with the work first. And then the one Sunday comes is reap benefits.

Hey, Darryus, Howard Balls are from Cards, Why are I can't help but notice that ring on your fingers? Is that a cotton bowl ring? Yes, it is the cotton bowl ring. You showed it to Marvin very quickly. No, I just saw it to Marvin. I was telling Marvin, you know, he was glad he did play. The whole week leading up, you know, you see how I stayed. Everybody said, okay, Marvin Harrison. And then he was like, is he going to play? He didn't play. So, you know, we lucked out. Hey, Marvin, Paul Calvici Cardinals broadcasting. Do you believe that receivers have to earn the trust of their quarterback? And if so, what does that usually require? Absolutely. You got to earn a trust of the quarterback. And they can start every day in practice and being consistent really. You can't just do it one day. You can't just do it for one week. Has to be done over and over and over again. I think that's how trust has earned. So, no matter where you get picked, whether you're a first receiver, it's around seven. You know, you might have to go in there and trust the quarterback. Your coaches, your teammates. So it all starts in practice.

What's going on guys? Good to see you again, Tyler Drake. There's no sports systems for Darius. What's the feeling of just being able to represent your school as that first round pick? And what kind of impact can that have for those guys falling in your footsteps? Yes, awesome. I feel like I'm setting the standard going for it. But that's named was who was known as D. Lines. So I'm just added to the family. But now I feel like I'm setting the standard for my younger teammates. That this is attainable if you work really hard, be consistent and really get the trust your strength coach. I feel like every program has built out the strength coach and develops all the habits, or not to feel. Darius Zacher's Minesi Carnels dot com right over here. JG mentioned that he loves the violence that you play with. You mentioned the different tendencies that you picked up. The emotional consistency is the great. How do you balance that? The violence with discipline on the field? I'm just through preparation and practice. I'm a big guy, a big believer in inside hands. So that's why I'm always working my hand placement. And then I lift weight. So that's all connected. So I'm just trying to be focused on my technique as much as possible.

Hey, Marvin over here. David Bramble with the Associated Press. You know, a lot of rookies come into the league and they get a little bit of leeway. It's like, oh, he's young. He needs to grow and stuff like that. But obviously you're going to be expected to be the guy here really quickly. How do you deal with that pressure? How do you go about just so much being expected of you so quickly? I mean, yeah, I've high standards for myself. But I'm just going to go in there and try to work. You know, the best I can. I just want to help the team win really. So with that role, I play, you know, come September. I'm going to do my best. No, do that rule. This one's for both of you guys. The fans want to know who you guys are on the inside. I don't know how much you're willing to reveal to us today. A lot would be nice. Can you tell us what you like to do away from football? What, what pisses you off about things and, you know, what, what makes you roll? I'm pretty simple. I like to, you know, be in my apartment, watch the movie. If I go out and I go to a restaurant, get some food, but I wouldn't not only do too much.

And then I'm pretty easy going guys. So I'll try not to let nothing bother me too much. I say the same thing, a real chill guy. Just really obsessed with football. But outside of football, like I said, I got my two degrees. I got my undergrad, hospitality management and a minor in business. I got my master's in a positive culture with emphasis, I play leadership. So just thinking about being well rounded. And then I do philanthropy work. I start my own nonprofit foundation. There is Robinson helping hands foundation, but really just football and then everything else, honestly. Congratulations guys. Welcome to the Valley and Robbie Baker with Fox 10. There is this is for you after the draft last night. You had a great response about how you're processing preparing for a game. Just kind of wondering where your love for kind of the grind comes from and your love for that process comes from. I would say my junior year because I play literally ball off and on, but I got my junior year and I was playing high school. And my whole goal is just to earn a scholarship. But during that process, I really fell in love with the game, fell in love with working out, relationships with teammates. And now I was kind of like my vice and I can't let it go.

And just kind of finding ways to always get better, you know. Luke, we're here with 12 sports. Congrats both of you. Welcome to the Valley. This one's for you, Marvin. I'm curious your thoughts. What was that conversation like with your dad after your name was called and you were able to be drafted by this organization and how surreal is it for you to be following on your own father's footsteps, but in your own way. Yeah, I mean, it was very brief. Actually, just in a second, congratulations. I walk up to the stage. Then I had to do a bunch of interviews at the word. So I don't think it's hit both of us yet. What's happened? I think one of my goals always make him proud. So I hope I did that. Marvin, Bob Rock, PhD next sports. When do you anticipate catching your first passes from Kyla Murray? I don't know. I don't know. I guess we'll see. Hopefully as soon as possible. Darry, as you mentioned, philanthropy. And I know there's been, it's been talked about how you took some of the N I and I L money to do a get back to school for the kids in Columbia. Where did that belief in doing those things come from?

I say my family, my brother, my mom really instilled that into me, answer me out of young ages, give back your blessings to others. And my fifth year at Mizzou was the best year of my life. So why would I not share my blessings with others? So that's what really motivate me to do that. And now being in NFL, you know, my goals are due three events each year. Just give back because you know, it's life outside of football and bigger blessings out there. Marvin, you obviously played with a number of highly drafted receivers at Ohio State. What sort of feedback have you gotten about the NFL from them? And you know, about making the transition and the league itself? Yes, a long season. I think going from the 12 game where you're season, you have in college to was it 17 games now and you have three preseason. I think actually just the biggest challenge. The game stays the same. Obviously, never all skilled and very talented athletes. So the mental part is probably the biggest thing and the biggest change from college to pros. Marvin, what's your timeline for hiring an agent right over here on the way far right? You haven't hired an agent. Why is that? Is there a timeline to hiring one? And are you going to sign the NFL P.A. Licensing Agreement?

I'll continue talking to my team. We do what's best for me. I'm moving forward. We just take it one day at a time. I just got drafted. So I'm trying to enjoy the moment and be happy while I can at the moment. Hey, Marvin. I'll say Romero Arizona Republic. Welcome. Can you just kind of share a little bit about you touch on it briefly here, but just a little bit more about growing up with your dad and the experiences you had in Indianapolis and games and so on and so forth. Yeah, I mean, there's no better role model coach mentor that you can have as someone who's played the game and then he's actually a father too. So he means a lot to me. He's healthy and get to the point I'm at right now. And just he's been very detailed and everything I've done growing up with playing football. So I'm so we're thankful for him. I've got that he can be here with me today. Look, looking again here with 12 sports is for Daria Starris. M-I-Z. Zero, you. Yes, sir. I'm a minor as well. Curious, what do you think you learn the most from your time at Mizzou that has helped you be ready for this moment? I said the biggest thing is not how you start is how you finish. I have to feel like me being drafted. That was the exclamation point on my career at Mizzou. But now I got started all over again and really earned respect on my teammates and coaches and then earned a role within our organization. But that's what I'll say.

Marvin over here. What's it like being another buck guy out here in the desert having Paris in the front row and getting to reunite with your guy out here? It's awesome. I think this is kind of like two years in the making of Paris and kind of had his conversation going back to even before he got drafted from the carnels. And I just get a chance to play with him again and hopefully my scorch and touch down so he raises me up. And his arms like he used to do in college. So super excited to play with him. I mean, not only is he going to be great teammate but a great friend of half as well. Or the tapes speaks for itself, but what would you say is the most underrated part of your game? I think just my competitiveness. I mean, I mean, I should not show it. I'm not much of an emotional guy on the field, but I'm very competitive because I get very underrated part of my game. Yeah, it looks like that's it. So thank you so much. Of course. Thanks. Thank you. I think he's really starting to mold into that role and really step into it. Is that been an adjustment? Obviously, it's obviously that your brother, but also that somebody who is leading a football team.

Has that been an adjustment kind of separating those two things? I mean, not really. We always been on a team in our whole life and I've seen him being those leadership roles prior to this. I mean, he was stepping into it already last year, but we got eight guys in the defense leaves. So now he has to really just elevate that. Yeah, not really. I've been seeing him. I knew he was going to mold in this for a while now. So what makes sense? I think he just knows how to talk to different players. Different players require different approaches. Some players you can rip them a little bit. Some guys you might need to pull them to the side. Some guys might need, like they have some off the field things that like he just can give some insights. It just depends on the guy. Just being able to relate to each individual player and see the person connect. I hope that helps build trust with the mesolidium. Lorenzo, I was watching an interview with Lacey Ransom recently. He called you the most confident guy in the world. What do you think he meant by that? When I came here, I was seven on the depth. I was nowhere where I knew to be at, but I always knew like,

you got to have that confidence to be able to play DB here at a high level. I think it's just going to show. I'm excited to go out here and ball this year. You got to be a little delusional. You got to be a little delusional coming into such a competitive place. I came here playing receiver. I want to show my boy, lay that really well. I wasn't delusional. So I'm going to put it all together this year. But I always just been a guy who's still talking trash. Even when I might not have it all together yet, just still trying to get better every day. As you worked your way up the depth, sorry, you were doing a lot on special teams. The coaches have been making that a priority with a lot of younger guys. What would your message be to some of those younger guys that are trying to find their way on special teams? Yeah, on special teams, like it's not a free play like that down. It's critical when it has a direct effect on winning and losing games. You see if we miss field goals or if we are punt games, not right. We're not hitting 40 plus yards. Things like that has direct correlation on winning and losing football games. And really at the next level, I have some guys who have been there and we have a nickname Ebner.

He played 10 years and he has a special team's guy. Especially for me being a guy in my role in my situation, special teams is the most important. I want it to be a tool to keep me in that NFL for a while. And I think the other guy should look at it as a tool to do the same thing, at least, and even get an opportunity to get on field. Give up to still do or be a part of the kick return unit as the return. Yeah, I'm trying to get back there and return some kicks for sure. But that's also me building the trust back there for allowing me doing it. I want to be on all four units. I know playing nickel at the next level, you see guys, you got to be on special teams. And I hold a certain stand, I go play. So just being a set there will be is critical stuff in the team in the year. How much for a couple of years now? I mean, I've been getting comfortable. I feel comfortable playing for a while now. I'm being honest with you guys in front of me who are good football players. But to me, it wasn't really really about that. Just continuing to get on the rise. I feel like my skillsets are getting better, my games are getting better. And as long as I'm playing football, I still want to keep getting better. Give me your impressions of your main match.

Jermaine's a ball player. He's an energy diver. He's one of those guys who gets the team excited. He's talking a lot of trash. He has a full cell, he has everything like that. But I think he's starting to really, I've been with him since he first came in. So I've been seeing him mature, growing to more of a leadership role. And really just he's continuing. He's a guy on the rise to getting better every single day. He's a talented football player. He's a talented football player. Yeah, I think I think you have the chance to have a great year this year. I really made a food when we think of this spring. The first half of the spring is culture. I want to give a shout to my guy Malik Hartford. But it's, I don't really think it was just a spring like in the, in the offseason. He was going real hard. We have this thing we've read out champion and he holds himself to a high standard. And he did that. And then it's just translating the field. That's what I've been watching a lot of my film with. I've been seeing him apply to the field and getting better every day. Yes, we see a late the grants of labor.

We just look at the step that that's from Jermaine. Yeah, that's the evolution of football. I'm going to say this is a high of a state too. I mean, I know that's a great player. Don't get me wrong, but they're kicking the ball off in a high of a state. And they're standards the standards. So we got to have players make place. Who? Who's making people back whatever who's making some strides in that room? I was a lot of art. Okay, you should join the competition. But how would you describe it? Oh, yeah, I mean, we have a lot of guys. We're position flexibilities. A big thing here. So we put a bunch of different guys in that position. So I think Bryce West has been playing well. And I think Miles is coming along too. I think the biggest thing for all of us is just really getting them to understand the defense, getting them to know what they're doing. And they all have the skill set. So really, as that mental part develops that this was already there. So just put it all together and they have the chance to be really good players here. We got like the devastation as well to five star. One of the top players in the country. Is there an initiation process with players anymore?

I could do a smart-up mark on that. I'm just going to do that. But is there, do they see a guy, who will come to your eyes? Yeah, I mean, the stars, like, yeah, it might show like the skills that you have or the God-given abilities. But what I want to say about Devon is just the type of person he is. He's a real good guy. I think his ego is not crazy. He's a real, a little humble guy. And then he's trying to get better every single day. The stars and all that really don't matter. It's not really an initiation process. You come here, you're freshman. You got your black stripe on, you got to earn your way. And I think that's getting your teammates trust and getting the trust in your coaches. How do you see him just like, in terms of like competitiveness, like putting himself so hard in his first spring? Oh, yeah, he's competitive. But if I'm being honest, I don't really want to. I mean, he has the hype. He's a five star and all that. But like, Ohio State, like, the standards, the standards. So like, everyone in our room is held to the standard.

I think he's getting there, meeting that standard. Like, he's getting better every single day. He has to continually get better. But the traits that you want and the thing about effort going hard, being a competitor, all those things that are not the technique, not the football part, he has that there. And I think when everything else comes along, it's going to be a great player as well. How is that standard helped you personally going into your field here now? Kind of your development over the last couple of years. I mean, yeah, I was challenged. I mean, it's either you, the sink or swim. I had guys in front of me. I had to make a choice. Like, do I want to continue to get better every single day? Or just be complacent? I could just sit here and be like, OK, like, this is my situation. Or try to find a way. So, I mean, that's it. I made a way out of the field. That was my goal. I had to go hard. I had to do certain things. I had to go on special teams. And those things I want to do before necessarily my freshman year playing on those special teams are, I don't know, trying to learn Nickelback. I came here to play corner. I'm out here playing Nickelback. So it's sink or sink or swim. So I think I did that. And now it's the time just to take it to another level and continue to get better. You mentioned the first question earlier. It said, you have to be a little bit delusional.

Did it, is it important to have that confidence, either before maybe you have everything figured out, have a position or rather. I mean, clearly, I mean, I would never play it if I didn't. I would have never played it if I didn't. I came here to play corner. We have a bunch of guys here at corner. Now I'm trying to get at Nickel. We have a dude starting at Nickel. I want to play. I have to get it on the third down package. I have to go do this on special teams. I haven't done something on special teams. Yeah, you got to be a little delusional. You got to be a little delusional. Alright, Lorenzo. Thank you. Thanks, man. Hi, O'Players. I'm just a pretty, um, a greedy player, man. I'm a little bit of a player. Nathan, I'm sure you were asked this about a zillion times. I'm asking you to zillion and one. Just you personally. Does it feel like this, everything is kind of, I mean, this is just obviously the ultimate payoff and reward. But just for you personally going through some of the trials and tribulations you have here at Ohio State, what does this mean for you? I mean, without sounding too stupid by asking that kind of question. It means everything to me. I'm just so thankful. And God gave me an opportunity after a face of so much adversity

to put me in this situation to be with my brothers, my team, my family members. And go out there and just play this game. I never take any game. Every meeting. Every practice for granted. I never take any for granted. I'm just so thankful. Did you ever get to a point where you just thought, I don't know if I can keep doing this or did that ever cross your mind? Never did. I love football. I love football, man. Yeah, I love football. I thank God that he allows me to play this game every day. And yeah, I love football. What was it like after the game? And you know, there was talk that you guys all had a meeting. Things got supposedly heated. Is there any truth to that? As far as like the players and the coaches you guys talk with Ryan Day. And just, I mean, just kind of had a hashing out like, hey, let's come, let's come full circle on this whole thing. And this and what happens behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors, but whatever happened at me to help us with a national championship. So I want to change something for the way. Well, and there you go, right? So I mean, would you say in a stupid way, not that you guys obviously wanted to lose the game,

but if you hadn't, do you think you would be sitting here where you're at? I don't know. I don't think about what is, I think about that. How that ring could feel on my hand. And that's the last year. Austin Moore podcast. Cody, was that the first helmet you've ever cracked? I think so. I mean, I didn't even know at the time it was, it was crack. I wish I brought my feet more in that play, but it was pretty cool. I mean, I've never seen that happen before. So, except for my hand. Did you, did you guys have any sense after that? It was such a physical hit. It was also a key tackle to get off the wheel. Did you think that that sent any message, both for the rest of you guys on the defensive side, or to Tennessee about what that game was going to be like? Yeah, I mean, we knew how important it stops. We're in that game, and you know, more so than the hit, just to be able to get off the field. I think that was the huge part for us, because we know if they can drive the ball and create a big place, it'd be tough. It's tough on a long day for us on defense. So, yeah, I would just, I'm happy that we got those stops,

and we needed to get it, and that was one of them. And, you know, all those stops really prepared us to have a good game on defense. Bill Raminowicz, Columbus Dispatch. What changed the most after the order game, and the re-engineering of the defense? Was it mindset? Was it a schematic thing? What changed the most? I'd say the most prominent change is really this attitude in that mindset. I mean, we know we played good before that, and we'd done a lot of things, but, you know, sometimes you need a little, a little like juice and a little bit of that. So, obviously stuff has changed. Scheme has changed. Like, attitude has changed. But I think we have that mentality that we have to, like, we have to be able to win games no matter what on defense, and to be able to do that. I mean, we say it all the time in our meetings, like, it doesn't matter what the offense does. We should be out there, go out there and be able to win a game. So, I think we brought back that mentality, and it's just got to keep going. You know, it can't just stop at Tennessee. It has to keep going to Oregon. You played so well before that,

and then that kind of came out of nowhere. How about you, Rude Awakening? Was it how much did I make you realize, okay, we're not there yet? I know, we had, that was a rough two weeks for us after that game, or we had to, like, really, we had a lot of tough conversations. We had a lot of overhaul, and just, you know, really looking in words at ourselves, and what do we have to change? And, you know, I think what we've done so far has been pretty well, and we have to keep that going, because it doesn't matter. It's really what you've done lately, so, if they do that for this next week. Stephen Means, clip.com. If you were a coach, how would you grade JT Snap with a linebacker against Tennessee? Snap is a linebacker. No, I mean, I give a lot of credit to, to, uh, to Niko as a quarterback. I mean, he did this thing, uh, moving around the pocket. It's not easy, like, trying to, oh, you said JT as a linebacker, or, for me, how I would... How would you grade it as a linebacker? As a linebacker. Oh, I mean, some tough plays. I mean, that's football, though. Sometimes, you know, guys get juked, guys get whatever happens.

But, um, you know, he always keeps coming. That's the best part about JT. Like, he'll never stop playing as hard as possible. So, we're, uh, I'm just, I'm happy he kept going, and he made a lot more plays after that, too. So... You said that it's very different tackling it, running back than a quarterback. Just, you know, what's the main difference between having to tackle those two types of players, no? What I've noticed is, I mean, when quarterbacks are scrambling, and they're particularly, like, good scramble threats, they use that ball fake a lot more. And it's, no matter what, even if they're passing line, it's still threatening, like, it's just the mentality, like, the playing defense. You're always worried about them throwing the ball. So, they can, they have a little bit more wiggle, whereas running backs, you know, there's a certain amount of jukes moves that they could use, or whatever moves they use. So, um, I mean, I think a lot of the things that we do is just trying to just treat quarterbacks who scramble, like, running backs, you know, just try to stay down, because, you know, there's no presence of facts that no matter what. So, if you're jumping for throw, you're probably going to be wrong. All right, we have time for a couple more.

I think we just have one. Someone else wants to jump in, but we got Tim May, right, I'm in the wrong. I was trying to hold my hand up. Cody, what has your interaction been like, with Caleb and Lathen, especially, from standpoint of feedback, you know, maybe between plays, maybe, uh, on the sidelines after series and stuff? Has it grown as the season has gone? What do those guys, especially, bring the table in that regard? I mean, they've always been really great, really great problem solvers, throughout this entire year. You know, our communication is strong, in-tune drives and everything. I think they do a wonderful job. Both of them just, you know, diagnosing what's going on, and then, you know, if we need to fix, they're always on top of this stuff. Our coaches are great at that too. They make sure that any little issue is being taken care of, and we communicate within the positions, you know, they're really good at that stuff. And one other thing, with you, uh, I'm just being honest, I thought from like, the late and the fourth quarter on against Nebraska, and then since then, you seem to have been a different player.

Maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I don't know if there was an epiphany there or whatever, but can you describe your drive or whatever from, you know, that was a close game. It was, you know, I think surprised a lot of people. You understand what I'm saying? But you seem to be a, you're personally seem to be a more driven, a different player. Am I wrong about that? Well, I mean, I don't, I feel like I've, uh, been taking, you know, the meetings to the field to practice everything. I want to say I've been consistent, and, um, you know, I'm just being able to be in position to make more plays, and, you know, I'm thankful for that, but I mean, we're just, really, it's really just, you know, well, we're just trying to be consistent, and, you know, doing what day in day out, not taking any day for granted, and not doing anything that I wouldn't do if I wasn't playing well. So, yeah. I think you said it was a different. Or is that a hailstorm? Keep? Yeah, I'm not sure what to come on. Okay. Alright, in fact, find a question. So Dan, both of you are just, Cody, when you guys are looking bad for a good game, obviously, you know, statistically really an anomaly for the C-Mintensere.

How much do you look at it as we had an off night? How much do you look at it as they're a really good op-man? That's capable of exposing flaws to the Everteens hand? No, I think it's, it's a little bit of both. I mean, we, we definitely did not play to our standard. No matter what. I mean, that's, that's number one. But they also, they also played a good game. And, you know, we're both a good team. That's why we're in the Rose Bowl and playing against each other. So, you know, it's going to be on us to, to be able to execute and do our job to the best of our ability. And, you know, that's what we're, that's what we're spending all this time practicing for. Like, we're doing walkthroughs everything because, you know, we, we need to, when we get to that moment, we got to do it right. And it didn't get to the last game. So, for whatever reason, we'll get those fix and we'll make the changes and just there and go out there and get a win. Being in the last game, what is the line of those things? Yeah, I feel like, uh, Seth, he's definitely made a big impact on how I play the game now. I feel like I, I look at the, I look at like, first and second down different, because I feel like he's gave me a lot of information on how he sees the defenses, how they move and stuff like that. So, I feel like Seth has become like a really good factor in my game and how I improved.

For a guy like me, I got to come in from Alabama and immediately, and I'm going to be gracious to myself to you guys to fit in like that. What did you, what inside you gathered and what it means to be able to do? Yeah, in your group, you get up, you're not necessarily playing like you were in the last year. I feel like, you know, Seth, when Seth came in, I knew Seth was a really good player at BAMMA. He's played in those big games, so, you know, just learning on everything he's done and how he, like, takes the next step. I mean, how he gives his features is something I took note of. Josh, you guys obviously have quite a turning nuclear experiment to your line. You, Carson, you, Tegra, Austin, how have you seen just the chemistry of you guys for all those last couple of years? Yeah, I feel like everything is just like, binding together. I play a world just playing really good next to each other and everything's been going really well. Do you feel just, you know, physically stronger when you're messing up? Because you're in here, you're like, yeah, versus last break. Definitely. I feel like it's a really big thing. It's something I've noticed over the years is that I've improved on. I've improved on is definitely my strength and coach makes definitely got us going.

How do you notice it just in the game? I feel like just over like these past summer, just getting stronger as I can. And then like, you just see it over and over and over. You like can stay in those reps. Those big time reps, you can just like stay in. I'm just gonna kind of learn everything Seth and take a note of things like that. How does that manifest itself in one before? Yeah, I feel like Seth, you know, what he's done, how he controls the offense, he makes the ID, gets everything going. Make sure it gets off and set. I feel like it's something I took no. What's the like going back home after a national championship? You know, it was, it felt so real. I mean, something I like, you dream of as a kid, you know, as a kid you grow from Ohio. You always dream about playing for Ohio State. You know, it's just great that I'm able to be here and play in a national championship. It's like wrestling experience still helps you as you're changing your body. Oh yeah, I feel like definitely. I feel like my mentality still is something like wrestling has definitely developed my mentality and my natural, like I go out there and try and like basically just choice all the time.

Anyone I go against, I feel like I'm trying to show him. What's going on here in person though? There's a lot of squandering. Oh yeah, Coach Bill on his death is a great person. He definitely gets his going. He's a really good, all the talent coach. I'm gonna get the odds they aren't strong on the 20s. The bond parents throw it on the goal line. Just a big deal. Thank you, Josh. Good. I think that's pretty good. I'd say it feels like a dream. But at the same time, I think you just take it day by day. You can't look forward to the game. You have to have a good Tuesday practice, have a good Wednesday practice, have a good Thursday practice. And just make sure that those days are complete to where you can build up to that game and see how you're going to do in the game. What are the things you've worked on in practice? I think it's more just mental. Just seeing what the defense is, what their scheme is. And then also just making sure that you have the right technique for those defenders and stuff like that.

Josh, don't talk to Josh on the line. We can go where we're at in Dallas. Just talking about that. All you guys are perfect. Hey, just a full question. It has been a grind. And then I mean, just playing with the game. What can you do to any of the insiders? What's kind of hurt you before it happens to play in the line? Yeah, you'd say everything. I mean, we hit on a daily basis all the time. So you could have knee pain, ankle pain. You could have headaches. You could have shoulder pains. You have hands, wrists, thumb, anything. But I think it just shows that we're willing to do whatever to play. I don't say which draft is that. What is the thing? One in a championship. One in a championship. That's what's driving me more than ever. Because it's a memory that'll last a lifetime if you go and do it. There are time-odd. Starting the path of fear of the tears of portal in the English players. You're one game you've won. How's senior pitches? I think it's paid off.

Playing for a national championship. If you were to tell me that when I was 10 years old, being a starting right tackle at a house state, I would say, I'd say some cuss words at you. And then tell you to go away. Not that much, but yeah, it's Indiana. So yeah. There are times when you say, just like I'm on the one, I mean, how much can you do with the setting setting? I don't know. I guess you could say I'm gotten it out. I don't look at myself more than I'm just looking inside that huddle during the offense when we're calling to play. And I'm like, I got to do it for these guys. Put so much in for them. Yeah. No, another name didn't recruit me when I was going out through high school. But I don't have any ill will against that. They didn't think I was a good enough football player, so I didn't have the day.

No, I don't think that's any motivation. I don't look at it like that. Maybe that they recruited different guys in classes, but I don't look at it as any ill will. I think that's the only person who has been talking about only that much. I don't know how it cost that penalty world are you guys fighting and mental strength to rest and recover over and over again. What is this week that like one day two days? Yeah, I think it's good. I think it just shows that it's like an NFL style season. I mean, it's crazy to think what we were in week was it 16 or 17. And it's just I think it prepares you for the next level more than ever. Because it's basically I wouldn't say it's NFL, but the playoffs and all that stuff, it's kind of coming together as the NFL. How are you doing training? Sleep. Sleep going in the trainer room.

Spend hours in there. Then go in the film room with ice pack on or STEM or something like that and start watching film. I think it's like a 24-7 thing that you always got to keep your body right to make sure that you're ready to perform at the level you want to perform at. But, yeah, John, you wouldn't expect the bottom point where this often is like a simple coming back or re-testing to your mouth another way. Explain that they do it. Where do you all come from that home? That day was an O-shit for me. It was just to see where he went from the winter time to being the guy who wouldn't talk anything and being all American, rimming to winter. Yeah, it was a dark point in this season for us as a line. But I had confidence in Carson right away. I mean, he played 12 games and he did find, I thought he did find those 12 games.

So I had complete and utter confidence in Carson. Yeah, it was the world's most knocked down with the group. It played almost two years. It had to come three, I mean, it's twenty-year. Yeah, I think it just shows that centers, guards, tackle, they just need time. Time to, I mean, you're not going to do amazing your first season unless you're, I don't know, Michael Jordan or something like that. But it shows that it's just a development. And I mean, our slogan is developed here. I mean, just to see him come from last season to this season, it's completely different. I was not just going to provide the culture to develop a lot of things that I don't know. Yeah, Coach Fry is a great offensive line coach. He knows what, right, what technique to use on every single play. He busses, asks for us. Even though people give him hate all the time, I don't understand, I don't see why.

He's a great human being. He just wants the best for us. And I think that's what you see at him every single day is he's trying to push us to be the best for ourselves. Do you think the job, Luke and Austin, tech, were not the same, were they the same? Yeah, I think they've done an unbelievable job. And it just shows the selflessness of all three of those guys, because tech were starting for the season. Austin was a left guard and then Luke jumps in there. But those guys haven't complained one bit of, oh, I want to get more playing time or something like that. They've been selfless and it's amazing to see. I have to go out and call, not him and Jackson said that Jack Sawyer called David and recruited and tried to get some of these guys. What do you remember about Jack's goal and trying to get everyone to come back to you with one more time? Yeah, I knew I was coming back. So there was no recruiting for me. I was kind of on the outside of that because it was only my first year of playing or first year starting. But I just remember just the fire and Jack's eyes, you see,

because Ohio native Ohio state guy, literally the buck guy I call him. And it's just the fire and his eyes of, hey, we can do this. We can go to a national championship and play for it. We just have to have everybody come back and it was awesome to see. It's hard that child. It's hard to do that. Yeah, I'm sick. It's a race. It's a little liar. Yeah, obviously it looks easier than it probably is. It's a lot of pressure and the difference between a good hold and a bad hold is just one inch. And then turning the laces, hopefully I don't do that too much. John's pretty good with these laces. So just about finding the spot and getting the tilt right. So I don't like to think I do a pretty good job because you could ask Jayden. But yeah, it's sort of a very refined skill once you get good at it. Not too bad. I'm a little bit in the States. In the States of maybe just under two years? Yeah. There's a lot of cold for a different suspos.

But we're very exposed in Australia to American culture. So sort of you were to expect a little bit. We get all your TV shows. We were sport, you know, sports events over there. So it wasn't too bad. And I've been lucky that I should travel over America before I moved here. So sort of you were to expect. What are some of the bigger cultural ways of being active? Just the way people speak to each other, like joking around with each other. The show in here that can be pretty dry sometimes. And even though I go home and see my mates, I'll say something that sort of doesn't seem like a joke. So you get to get used to that a little bit. Yeah, it's the biggest ones I suppose. A little bit more sarcasm in Australia, saying. Yeah, a little bit more sarcasm. And the way we speak to each other is, like the words we use for different things. I mean, I was just an idiot for the last time. I was talking about gardening with Ronald mates and we were talking about using a whipers and a buff, which is a weed wacker. And like just little things like that. You guys have no idea what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. I'd say that, you know, I think in all of you, that I don't realise that he's actually Australian.

I have to go back on it. Yeah, the guys are starting to learn that. I hear that. One of the big things, it's selective for the one. So you can't just sort of walk in, you have to try out. But most of the guys go up to Australian football, which the primary way to pass the ball is by planting it essentially. It's a little bit different. But then we have a whole bunch of coaches that actually played a toy football. And the Nathan Chapman played a few games at Green Bay. So he knows what to expect. He knows how to keep on. He still goes out and boots and he's old age, 45 or something. So yeah, and then they sort of, they teach you exactly what to expect. They don't give you any false hope really. They say, you're going to go there this exactly what it's going to be like. So it's sort of like a one, two, three year simulation of what it's going to be like over here. So guys are ready to go. Two culture. It depends. It depends how good you are, how a lot of it's your mindset as well.

So it's very, it's, you know, it's a unique off season. We might get two weeks, two weeks break and then we're into the winter and then spring and then summer and then fall in the season. So yeah. Two culture questions. One, have you ever had a Vegemite's sandwich? Yeah, yeah. And two, I heard no real last Australian with drink, fast or spare. I've had my first fosters in Nashville about two months ago. And? It's alright. Yeah, it's, it's fine. I won't be rushing back to it, but it's, it's easy. And Vegemite? No, I love Vegemite. It's awesome. Yeah, I, I miss it a lot. I actually brought it over to Jarlas from Los Alamos in Australia. So yeah, I love my Vegemite sandwiches. Have you tried to share it with anybody other than Nick? I've tried, yeah, I mean Nick doesn't mind it. I tried it out. I'll, one of my little kids, Casey Magger. He's pretty upset when he tasted it. Yeah, it's been pretty good reactions out of the guys, but yeah, if you, if you, you know, a full-on ratio with butter on some toast, it's pretty nice. What's the biggest similarity between Australia and the United States? Food. To be honest, the foods, the foods seem like I mean, we, we're very multi-culture in country.

It's in America. Yeah. I suppose we probably have more Asian influence, whereas America has more latin influence. That's probably the biggest food difference, but I mean, we have a whole bunch of Italian. I'm from in Melbourne has one of the biggest great populations outside of Greece. I think it's the biggest outside of Greece. Yeah, I mean, you could go in there. You'd be, you'd be in the city, you'd be alright. Do you have to watch everywhere you step? No, it's not that bad. Just every now and then you'll sort of look up and it might be a spider there or something. Like the size of your pet. Sometimes, I mean, there's a lot of daddy long legs, you know, these little ones with big legs, but they kill all the insects, so they're nice out around in corners. But it's not too bad. Joe, you got class. Thank you very much. Thanks, Joe. You're welcome. Joe, Jim, those guys are very stark in a little bit different on the homogeneity of playing your own games in the other Dave team. We sure they play a little bit personally, but they like to get the flow. They're like, now you can run down. You're like, the play between the ashes. Is it different getting ready for it to be the one that's so little in the world back side? Yeah, it's different. You know, I mean, you look at the last three games that we faced.

Really, the offenses were different to what Notre Dame does well. So we have to make that adjustment because they'll be hard to handle. Right so coach, we're just talking with JTP. How disciplined did the edge brushers have to be knowing their priceless interests? Somebody can expect that the most third down in the country, you want to be aggressive, but they have to make sure that they keep them in the pocket as well. Yeah, I mean, you say, you know, past rush lanes or everything and, you know, caging him because he is exceptional at making those plays. But, you know, you also can't execute a past rush unless you execute a past rush move. You know, so it's like you can't get a hit unless you swing the bat. So it's really going to be a constant balance. And knowing that he can make those plays, everybody has to be aware of it.

All right, thanks coach. Thank you. So, you're asking me, I'm getting a first one. The defense is made. Unbelievable. I'm going to play on. Actually, I believe we'll kind of all year long. There's been one or two things that's kind of been a team of your defense. What's up with this? What's happening? What's the one or two things that come with the defense all year long? Well, we always talk about limiting explosive plays, you know. Guys know that. They know that. We talk about, you know, all the standard things that defenses do. But, I think the expectation is important, you know, that from the jump, you know, I talked to them about chasing perfection, even though it's not possible, you know, that we have the talent to do that and we have to expect that from ourselves,

that we're going to be as close to perfect as we can. Yeah, and I think, you have veterans and guys who've been in the system and you spend a lot of time together and, you know, they start to understand how I think, which is really important, you know, when you know what the guy, the guy who's calling the defense is why he's calling it and how it works and, you know, because every call has strengths, but every call, every defense has weaknesses. So, they just start to understand that the longer we're around each other. Yeah, I mean, you can tweak things week to week in the game plan and they pick it up seamlessly, you know,

where, at other times you have to be careful, but when you have a veteran group that understands the system, it works well. Thank you. Yeah, that's been a constant pursuit of perfection, you know, I want, and up to me to put them in the right call, get them in the right places and, well, when they make good plays that's on them, you know, and they know when they, if something goes wrong, it's on me. So, I think it's that continually, you know, investing in them and trusting them and let them go play. I grew up on the, on the mean streets of North Philly, that's why I came here. Yeah, it was raised by a Philly cop.

So, yeah, you know, there's an intensity that goes about that. You spend time around them and, you know, it's my job to be hard, hard on them in practice, you know, to be detailed and on top of my game and have all the answers and drive them and motivate them, you know, because on game day, that's not the time, that's the time for them to play, but that's my job during the week. My job during the week is to be the bad cop and let all the other guys be the good cop. Thank you. I mean, that's a ton of additional pressure. Yeah, I mean, that's a guy who can beat you with his feet or his arm and that changes everything about the game. I mean, it's, it's a big deal.

You know, Riley, he, he, he's really established his own mark and his own place because of his athletic skill, but his toughness, I mean, he's really, really a tough minded person and player. Yeah, I think it did. I think it really did, you know. The sooner you can get back to playing, the sooner, you know, you can write a new script, you know. So I think that was, that was a good thing for us. Definitely, it was, hey, feel bad for a little bit and then we got to get back to work, you know.

And anytime you can get back to work, it helps you get over those things. Losing at Ohio State is never a good thing, you know, you're expected to win every game. But if it does happen, that's the job as coaches is we, we have to find a way to get some benefit out of it, you know. And I, and I feel like we did, I feel like we did that.

I like the adjuster, that's why I named him the adjuster, because he adjusts, yes. What does being able to play in some of these different positions, that's what I'm talking about, that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, I think it, it allows all the things you talk about in terms of disguise, it gives coverage relief to the other guys. I think he sees things, you know, even better from that position, you know, and so the results speak for themselves too. That's all theory until you get out there and do it.

And from the time we recruited him to, you know, yeah, I always knew that he could do that. And it was just a matter of getting to it as the best thing for the entire defense. Yeah, it hit us hard. I mean, we put a lot of time into it and, you know, thought we put our best foot forward. But that's why you don't overreact in those situations that, you know, give him his respect for his decision and his family and say, hey, if you ever need us, we're here because those things come around.

Absolutely, absolutely. Yeah, we're, you know, still using a lot of Oklahoma State film one way we're trying to recruit him. Another year gave us the opportunity to put more stuff on tape to show him. Yeah, he's a very serious student, you know, so it's almost like if he sees something when you're teaching, he's not going to say it right then. You know, he's one of those guys that'll come to you after class and, you know, like a, and then bring it up. You know, but he's very serious about the flow of teaching and, you know, not interrupting, but he picks up on it.

He picks up on everything. You have to be on your toes. Yeah, I think what you said, when Coach Day and Chip did was we experienced the benefits of that, right, because of less plays, you know, in short, in the game. But defensively, you also said it. You really don't have a choice in the matter. You know, you get, it's, it's whatever the other team throws at you, you got to react to it. No, not me. I mean, we have, that's Coach Day sets up the entire program to have all the nutrition people and the sports science and all that to do that.

I don't treat it any differently. Our job is defensive, you got one job, stop him. It's it. And then do it again in the next series. Yeah, I mean, there's luck involved. There's preparation. There's strength staff, nutrition, sports science, all that is a big deal. That's why we have great people who do it. And, and then you got to be fortunate. Yeah, I think it really started at Duke, be honest with you and it evolved. And you know, where Duke and you got great kids and maybe you're not quite as talented as your opponent sometimes.

You got to find ways to win. You know, so it allows you to be more creative and then you get to Oklahoma state and what you do at Duke doesn't work because the big 12 is different, you know, or was at the time, right? I mean, trying to score every play. So then you have to adapt to that. And then you get to a state and, you know, you have the best players in the country. And that's an, that's an adaption too, right? Because, you know, things that maybe you had to do in the past, you don't have to do anymore. So you look for different ways to get an edge. Yeah. Work, work and good kids, you know, put in the work, have the answers and then have good kids who want to be coached and listen.

Yeah, it's really a big deal. Work, same answer, it's work, right? I mean, it's just you, you're working. But you have to study yourself. I think it's a big deal. You have to take accountability when something doesn't work. You know, we got to study all the ways that teams have beat you and have answers. But really, it's just a lot of study, a lot of time alone, a lot of work.

I really try to take myself out of the equation. My job is to put the players in the right position to win and be successful and to serve the head coach. So, yeah, I mean, I would be thrilled for our players and for our head coach and realizing that Ohio State's a tough place. And you're right, we have had our ups and downs. So, I would be thrilled for them to be able to come out on top. When he was there at a Virginia Tech and when he first came in, I remember going out spring workouts and he kind of just gave the vibe like he's a great dude. He really wanted to build connections with us. So, it's been amazing. What's been the biggest adjustment you've had to make since coming to Ohio State? The biggest adjustment I would have to say is just really buying in to the coach. Because we're a big coach of program. We keep the coach and no matter what's going on, we are going to be the same way.

So, just kind of buying in stuff like that. And you got to go to a couple of those bowl games and kind of see what that experience was like. What did that kind of do for you to help prepare you to do it yourself? It was crazy because there's my first time actually watching games from the field. So, I actually got to see steps. I got to see play call and I got to see coach Fry. I actually know those guys up on the sideline and actually forgot to talk that he's talking. For freshmen offensive linings, patience is required. It's a development. As a guy who comes from high school where you're playing a lot, how do you kind of reset coming in as an offensive lineman? Knowing it may be a year or two before you start to get real popular. You know, you kind of just went around from those guys that have been here because like you said, it's kind of tough coming in and being a young guy and then going against different fronts you might never seen before. And talking different knowledge that you might not talk before. But for me, it's been kind of a learning process, but I'm picking up on it. I get very great coaching every day and the older guys do a great job of communicating.

So, it's kind of been really easy. Nine different guys started last year. What does that mean for this room in terms of you guys doing that for your play? So, how do you prepare for that? Just coming every day ready to work and coming with that mindset that we all need each other. It's not just one guy there's one guy that knows five guys out there and those five guys that are going to be out there, they got to be able to trust their brother. And the guys that are on the sideline, we got to be out there churning on our brothers. And when our names are called or whatever names call, you got to be able to step up. And then, what does that early on, like right now for you trying to still, your teammates can trust you. Just coming every day with the mindset that I'm here to work. Like, I come in the building, I come in the wood and they know that I'm here to work. They know that I'm not here to play around. They know that I'm coming in to meet and ask the questions. So, I figured I was going on picking the older guys, brainstorming, not to practice, even and getting at your work.

You talked about this kind of scene and movements already. Where have you seen that the most in your games? I want to say knowing the game and football. That was the biggest improvement for me because coming out of high school is kind of a lot more simple. Coming to a place like Ohio State, you got to know your stuff. And coach gives us a good look. I'm talking about Cusper, the Diffus Accorda. He gives great looks, different looks. Is that through film work that you start to see that the most, the knowledge of the game going to set up on field? I want to say the film and on the field because you can work on it in the field. You can work on it in the world, but if you can't take it to the field, none of that really matters. Thank you.

I was happy for Gia. I see her, I see her, I see her, I see her, I see her, I see her, she's running. Getting an extra work. I was happy for Gia, I see her, I see her, I see her, I see her, I see her, she's running. Getting an extra work. Ball is ball. We come out here and play ball. He's out here doing a pro day yesterday. I just see her, ready to make some real money. What place do you feel like you're a different player now going into this year, maybe you were last year? I feel like every year I've just improved on my overall game. I feel like I'm just overall better. I came here ready to go. How much does it push you when you're in a room of guys like Max and Will and Bennett that you know you've got to be on your game if you're going to get on the field? Man, I feel like Arya is sharp by Arya every day. You come in and work and they go push me every day to work. It's just like I'm a do-do.

I love more, honestly. Max, Claire, Max LeBlanc, both of them. What's... You're flashed any time here? Is this the year where it all comes together? I feel like Arya was my year, but, hey, you're going to see this year. I'm ready to come out here and put on a show for the Bugatti Nation. I feel like everybody on the field is ready to put on a show. We're trying to go back and back. You got to play quite a bit though last year, Tulane. What did you pick up from all of that, especially in a championship run? They were counting on you. Honestly, just be ready at any time. You can be thrown in at any time, just like I was. I probably had some rest while just throwing in. You've got to get it done. If you don't get it done, they're going to find somebody who has to do it. I think we asked you this every time we get it done. We're going to definitely see what you've progressed as a tight-end, the Paul of Dead Means.

I've been here even a year ago. I've been over the spray and some of this. I feel like I've told them I've got a lot stronger in the way we were. I've also got a little bit faster, so I've been getting it out of the brakes a little bit. The mind part of the game is the middle part of the game. If you got even better at that, how would you describe that? I said it again. The mind part of the game, you know what I mean? Well, I feel like it's a lot more fun. I say the tight-ends, we come in here. Five o'clock every other day, we do a walkthrough, more fun. We're just more students at a game now. We're a lot of things. Thanks, man. One of the wishes is for you. You've all blown up for five times. What do you remember about that boy? I feel like it was just an exciting play. I was the last lead on it. Like the very last lead on it. I don't go out, I can't go out with the catch, so I'm going to get the first down. You know what I'm going to do? That's good. Thank you. That winning the national team, having a big goal and winning the national team, which is that helping you forward?

It's a lot of help. Kind of knowing that I can always turn the shit no matter how rocky it gets. And you'll make it through no matter how bad it gets because if you truly believe in yourself and you have good support around you, you can do anything. Looking back on the regular season, what do you think was the screw-up to make your equipment go up? I was going through a little bit of it. I ended up tearing up my abductors and my hips. So I was playing through that. I didn't make it to easy trying to keep them in those games, but I did my best to help the team out. When did you, you're going to keep doing that? That was on a week through. That's wonderful. I've heard it is to go out and do chicken ball in the nursing and locking the national team. To make a new kick, but you know, it was a sign. I wasn't really thinking about it, to be honest. I was like, I told my dad about this and my dad asked me. It was like the quietest moment I've ever had in life because it was so loud and the moment was so big

and I was so focused. It was just like, I was in a flow state. It almost seemed like it. 46-year-old kid. Or it just seemed like it was just a gauge of that. Yeah. How much did that mean? How much did it still do? Still do. I mean, doing it in practice is fun. It's great for mental, but until you see it going in the game, it's a completely different feeling. That was huge for me. I know that was huge for Coach Danny too. How much did you earn his trust back in games? Through that. I feel like it's going to be easy to get your office trusted. Yeah, you know, I would hope so, but you never know. It feels great for me knowing that he trusted me in that moment, even though I hadn't had the best past couple of games, even though practice is completely different for the game. To still put me out there and trust me to do my job, I was just happy I could come through.

How much did your kid do on average? Really healthy right now. I feel great. This is probably the best I've felt in your nine months. It was rest and recovery stuff and therapy, physical therapy stuff like that, just trying to get back to the first grade. If this is the best, like, you can file what it's like. The contact sounds the same, but you can just tell it kind of what the ball flight. It goes a lot further. It feels a lot more pure cutting off my foot. How did you learn how to kick through that injury last year? I think I was trying to get a little bit of trial in there, which I guess would explain my inconsistency last year. A little bit of just trial in there and what I could do. And so I think I finally figured out around organ of the playoffs and just kind of let it ride from there. Whether it be the... How did you kind of have some time to reflect on last season? Did you kind of take away from those ups and downs, but maybe kind of change your process of all going into this year? Almost definitely.

The process of me warming up has become a lot more in depth. And I go through multiple different stretches exercises, that sort of stuff. So I'm going to carry that along with me. I feel like it prepared me even better for the game. And also the mental aspect of it, just believe in having confidence in yourself always and not on how much it gets. Now you figured out how to move your body to the game. You can't have your physical reach in multiple times. I just started to feel a lot more comfortable than I guess I would say. A lot of pressure was coming towards me from back this and the media and all that sort of stuff. It was all kind of compiling. And I was like, I just kind of had to do something about it. So I figured it out. Whether it be the playoffs... It was my right. It was kicking right. Yeah. Whether it be the playoffs or the playoffs success you had, the health you feel now, just how much mentally in terms of confidence do you feel like? You've improved going into the season. I always had confidence myself. But the level that I'm at right now is probably 10 times more than it was last year.

Just purely because of showing myself I could do it. And then also showing Coach Day I could do it. Yeah, I just showed everyone that I could do it. What was your mindset with Coach Day sent you out there against Tennessee to kick a real long one at the end of the half? You go out there and you think you're going to make them all. What were your thoughts? I kind of had to hit a perfect ball. And conditions weren't on my side that night, obviously. But you're still expected to go out there and make the kick if he puts you out there. So I know I kind of had to hit a good ball and just ended up having it before me that night. But yeah, it's kind of hit. Thank you very much. It's a great question to me. Geno 2. I want to say the thing to Geno, the rest of my teammates, receivers, going to be open and a line doing their thing. And hopefully, you know, it's just the beginning. On the stage this one, did you get a game coming up in a few days? Yeah, I mean, we're going to definitely look at it tomorrow.

Go over it. Fix our mistakes. And it's good that it's an early week, early week, Thursday game. So, you know, we will have to flesh it and move on. How did I get one of the state larger or before the game? It maybe hasn't been as much productive season. What's he meant to you guys in terms of leadership and maybe helping the receiver like you? I mean, it means everything to this organization, how he carried himself. Just everything he's done for this organization in the city. You know, he's a leader. And I appreciate him so much. You know, I feel like I'm in the best position possible, you know, having T-Lock and DK and all these other guys. So, you know, T-Lock, he's a special guy. And I'm just just blessed to have his friendship and him be my teammate. How do you guys got back from this one, Jackson? Just where you guys arrived and everything? When, you know, when, when next week and a week after that, you know, that's the best bounce back.

Anything else? Thank you. A year, you know, 100 total yards in the play-out game we lost, which I hate the most. It's not going to matter to me I want to win. But then, come back to next year, hurt again. Like, 20 kills. So two really unfortunate injuries, but that's just a guy's plan. You know, and I think that the storm is now over, you know, and I do think that I'll be able to shine my light to the whole world. Are you concerned that you have that label that you can't stand with me? I could care less. Because I do, I know this out there. Because as it should be, it should be. I got hurt two major injuries back, not back to back years, but, you know. So I haven't been on the field as much as I should. That's true. That is true. But it's not like I'm having these little, little, dinky injuries and sitting out. It's something I can't control. Literally. So that's why I'm not bothered by it. Like, yeah, I am injury-po, and you can say that. You know, but I do think that the chargers are getting a guy that's going to be healthy from now on.

You know, God will it. And it's going to be great. And I do think that it's going to be a great however many years here. When you've been on the field, you've been highly productive. Yeah. 5.8 yards of very average for your career. Like, knowing that when you're out there, you're very productive. How much confidence does that give you that really all you need is not what you need? You know. All the confidence in the world, you know, the way I work. I want to say just from the numbers, but just the way I work, my work ethic, you know, and my relationship with Jesus is like, I have the most confidence when I stop out there. Because I do know like, if he grants me the health, it's over with. I don't think I'll be, you know, I think it'll be a great year or whatever. A couple of years, however many years he grants me great health, you know, and I think just the work ethic, my prayer, and all that stuff, that's what helps me have that confidence. What the numbers will be there in there. They might be higher after this year, you know, and it's crazy to think about it.

Because I had 6.6 yards per carry, you know, so we'll see. Is it important to run behind this line that they put together? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I play with Bradley. I play with him, you know, I know the Slater, I know all the guys, you know, and I'm excited. I think, like I said earlier, it's a talented group. You know, we just got to put it together and win some games, because that's what I came through for. Just in all the parts of the year or? I wouldn't say part of the recruitment, but like whenever I decided I was going to sign it, it was great to have him in the room. Yeah, we're great. We have a great relationship. That's like my brother. I think it complements each other very well. You know, he can do a lot of stuff too. You know, a lot of people think he's just power power power, but I think he has some other parts of the game too, which it'll be great. I feel like I can do everything, and when one's to get tired, we can roll it in, we'll keep rolling.

We win some games. When you, the two of you keep going, how do you think this is going to look? What will be that partnership that is back there? I know. That's a hard question. How do I think it'll look beautiful? You know, a lot of people call this a passive league, but I think you got to run the ball to win a Super Bowl. You know, if you look at the team to win a Super Bowl, they can run the ball. They can control the clock. And so if we're both good, it'll look great. How do you describe the Greg Rowan offense? I would describe it as, you know, a great offense. I think he gives a quarter, he's going to give the quarterback a lot of options. He's going to give the running back a lot of options. He's going to give the receiver a lot of options, you know, and I think it'll be, I think it's going to be great. His offense is going to be amazing. When we talked to him, you know, I was like, why are you going to build something good for Russian offenses throughout your career? Whichever way you've been.

And you said that one part of it is just, you got to call the police. You got to call the run police. As a running back, you know, how much confidence, how much you've cited as a give you, you know, you have a play collar that's going to stick with it and allow you and the offense upon it to get you rid of the group. It gives me a lot of excitement. You know, it's going to be, like I said, it's fun to play in his office. And I think he does have some good things in the past game too. But like you said, he sticks with the run and that's that's the identity. You want to offer his has an identity, right? You're going to be looking everywhere else to find your identity. You want to have it. And so I think his offense has that. And the guy he builds and puts in there, it complements that identity. So I think it's going to be great. You mentioned you're 100% now. So you'll be full go for training. Look, I ain't going to answer any of the four if it's up to me. Yes. Look, because I had this problem like two years, three years ago, I'm thinking I'm full go.

I think I'm ready to go. And then next year you know I'm on PUP. Like, hey, look, some stuff above my pay gray. But I don't know. Hopefully I can start. I think I'm ready to start, you know, at the beginning training camp. That's not up to me as I've learned. How do you how your people. I wouldn't say that. I think I've been in some great organizations. And I think this organization is a great organization. And the training staff is great. And so they just want what's best for me, you know. And they're taking care of me, which that's what you want in the organization. And so that's where that comes from. Which I appreciate it. Like, I really appreciate it. You know, because I'm a type of guy like I work really hard. So maybe sometime I'm blind to, you know, the danger of something, you know. So I appreciate it. But like I said, if it's up to me, yeah, I'm out there. But never know. Well, any frustration for you during the getting into the agency, you know, dealing with rehab and not, you know, having a full season of paid for the production to go out there.

And part of that, we were like, I wish I had a different market with a different situation. Yeah. I like it. I like how would I say this? I like it the hard way. But not you know, I like it the hard way. I like it. I like trial and tribulations. So, I mean, the dice that I was given to roll was I was coming off a third Achilles. And that was that was the Lord's plan. So it was beauty in that. Like, I was comfortable. I was caught like there was multiple teams, you know, I wasn't it wasn't like I didn't have any other team. But I was comfortable in sitting back and just enjoying the process, letting myself get fully healed. So whenever that team whoever I would sign with who now is the Chargers is going to get the best me, you know, and I think people all around the league know that like, okay, this guy, okay.

It's a high risk, high reward type thing, right? Not even a high risk, low risk because you it's a business, right? So I got hurt last year. So not as much money needs to be throwing that. But I think everyone around the league knows that whenever I am on the field, the numbers don't lie. And so they know that and a lot of teams were like, alright, here, you can we give you this, but we want you to be healthy. So when I'm healthy, it's going to be great. The chance that I've been giving here, I'm so grateful and I know that's going to be they won't be they won't regret it. Are you the type of person that likes to be people wrong? Like you've got a couple things like the high risk high reward, injury from, you know, like are you the type of person that really tries to. The group people wrong? No. I hear it. I see it. It's pretty cool. Like you'll never see me unless I'm just like in a bad mood. You never see me like, oh, like if I have a great game or a great year, like I have this wonderful year, I ain't going to go back and you're like, yeah, yeah, what happened?

No, because I don't care. Like you're eventually see like I'm like, I'm a guy that's really good. I ain't worried about that, but I'm proving myself right that I am one of the best in the league. Right? So forget all the naysayers and people will talk about being injury prone because whenever I have this great year, it's going to be forgotten, you know? So, why give that energy? Talk of Justin and all of our guys have a chance to be in the middle of it. Yeah, I was, you know, we just with him, you know, he's a great guy. I mean, he was in my class. I remember seeing him on We're at an award show because I was a dog walker or finalist. And I'm like, I've seen him play, but I didn't know he was that tall. Like I didn't know he was like six, six. I went at first, so I'm this was years ago in college. And I'm like, and this is pretty tall. Like, it's cool though. Like I like I never really got to I ain't going to be kind of, you know, nerdy. But he's cool, dude. Very laid back.

No offense to him. I think this defense, I think 18, that was 19 percent of time. That number's a lot more than 30. It's like 30 something percent. I mean, how does that change the way you're not listening? But how does it change the way you're playing in the corner when the guys maybe that are back in the center? Yeah. Oh, man. I can't tell you. I know like one of my individual goals, like I wanted to do. I wanted to get more picks. When you play a man, it's kind of hard to get more picks. Back to the quarterback. Especially like you playing against quarterback, I hear air literally just going to throw a ball at the back of your head. It was the worst day of the average break up. P.I. Something like that. And it's just a hard and it way teams trying to skate months, like runaways. And they just running away from this. It's definitely a lot harder to get picks, but this is one of those things where it's like, hey, we got to stop our men from getting the catch in the ball.

That's a tough one, since. When you add in, theoretically, someone like Hassan, who are next to McDonald, or the other son of McDonald's, got the second leading in sax, who went in, obviously, we all need to know. Should this theoretically allow you guys to get that to play in how you have been the perfect two, three, or three? Yeah. Is there anything when you got stuck between lines? Could you allow us to get the chance to go one of the best receivers on the league or someone who got the horse in the league? Besides him being a great player and me being a competitor, and wanting to help our teams win. No, you know, you get great dude. Someone that I've seen a couple of times just around in this offseason. And, you know, just the way your respect or opponent is playing your hard out doing your best to win you. To win your rep. I feel like that's the best thing for me and him. I feel like that will be exemplified on the weekend.

Yeah, I do. I feel like step one of being better and playing the way you want to is being conscious and self-aware of what you are. You did to put yourself in that position the week previous. So, then that's where it all started watching the film and being in tension on practice. So, just catching up all with my body. Doing those happy things. I think I did a really good job at this week up to, you know, it was confident that I felt all year. And now I'm just about going out there and making sure a chance like the Sunday was confident and will. I would say, I don't think. Report, Garrett, for the game that acted the judge that acquired the ball today. And teams that called the judge about it. Why are you giving a drink? The judge said, you know, I'm not trading with. Was that on your mind? Or on your human mind? And I had a pleasure played or you saw it or anything like that. Wait on you. No, I wouldn't say wait on me at all. I wouldn't think about during the game. Yeah, well, not, you know, I'm not going to say that was the reason why I played better.

Nothing, nothing. I wouldn't think about it. What was your takeaway from the light-based speech? To receive the light of attention? Just that stuff like that is contagious. And it's something that, you know, we've, you know, you, this, this is all I know. So all you kind of get used to something, but the reality of it is, it's not okay. And we got to figure it out. And we got to figure out why we're not winning again. We got all the time in the world. We got all the pieces. So why are we winning, winning matters? And then, you know, little things like that out of them. And that was my takeaway from becoming from someone that's been part of great coaches, great teams. And it's a great player. And so, you know, when he talks, you're going to listen. So, I know we all, you know, heard him and tried to go about it the right way this practice week. And as far as having energy and, you know, if you don't have that energy, figure it out. So that is, you know, it's contagious. And that was my, my, my kind of takeaway from that. I moved to all over the place, but I imagine with the body, you can line up a little bit more in the slot.

You've seen you be pretty ridiculous inside there. Is that a place that you feel at home? Is that something you would enjoy being there more? Yeah, I mean, I don't mind being in slot. I don't mind being outside the truth of it is, you know, usually you get less of a, you know, a cover player in the slot. You get to see the defense show itself in a little different view as, you know, as opposed to being on the outside and just by the center corner. So there's ways to get into your rod a little faster and just break down the coverage and find that zone and that hole. So I like it enough. I feel like they're being the type of player I am. It's, you know, it can seem a little easier in the slot to break things down, I'll say. But, but no, I like doing both of them. I ain't going to figure that out. I like doing both of them when we being in slot, being in the slot. You know, vice versa. But you're in the slot. Can you get quick wins that are right in the quarterbacks? You have to house me with right in front of them. Is that an aspect of it that's positive? Are you doing it right or wrong? You know, it's a good point. Maybe, maybe that is something that goes into it.

But, you know, I think reality, but you got to make some tough decisions. You're in this lot. I'll sign you over the rid of the field. You know, the big backers and the stack monsters that you got to do with a little more. And that's what comes with it. But you are right in that sight line at the quarterbacks. So, yeah. Do you remember the feeling walking out of the stadium after beating these guys? Let's go and... Oh, yeah. Yeah. It was right in pretty high right there. Yeah. You know, can you get back to that with a win something? Yeah. You know what? You got to start somewhere. And this is who our next opponent is. So, we got to go out and do what we got to do. Yeah. I mean, we want to get on the street. We want to get on. And if we're going to do it, it starts this weekend. So, you know, we got the Patriots and we got to handle our business. I believe the team of Raleigh is where it needs to be. You know, we have some adversity hit.

As a team, we all would agree that we then respond the right way with adversity. We had some people say some things throughout these past few weeks. We had people step up and have people show ways not to do those things. So, I think we are in the right spot. I think everybody is missing the right spot physically. I think especially we are too, which is more important. We are very concerned about adversity hit. We just want to show we really are. There is no magic potion to get on the touch ground. We are still fighting back around again. There is no magic potion to bend down a home game. We are just showing who you really are. I think it's not for us to respond the right way with adversity hit in the game. We are going to open down there. We have to be the same team no matter what. I think this weekend is going to be the right time to show. What do you think of the road needs to be championed? I think it was just what everybody needed. Whether he was talking to you or whether he wasn't.

It was something I needed to be said. Brick talked to us, talked to the whole team a few days later. It coming from him. He hasn't been here at all. He's on the band with us a week. Playing one game with us and he felt and saw that, which is real. As a team, the core group, we've been in a situation a lot of times. Unfortunately, we came out on losing hands. It can be easy to fall in that trap of life. Here we go. That's what I said about adversity. We have to make it okay to think like that. We are going to change that. When adversity hits again, you know it will. What's going to be our reaction and our respond the right way. If you do respond the right way, we see a player, a teammate, a coach, not responding that way. It's making sure we all get on the same page. So, it coming from him was very good because everybody respects him. We have all the accolades in the world. He's definitely paid. But, you know, that's the person that has the man.

I think that was really good to come from him. Have you gotten the sense that it's resonated or is that something you'll kind of see on Sunday? I mean, I hope he resonated. Right after he's finished speaking. But, yeah, obviously we're going to see this Sunday. Because, like I said, the verses are going to come. It would be nice to have a game like last time, but you can't prepare for that. I just got to go out there and do my job. And, you know, when that moment comes, you know, let's respond the right way. Somebody look at that and say, he's only been here for a few days. And, like, one makes him like an expert. Can you see how? That's a bad response. If that was the talking the locker room or around, then that would get weeded out real quick. Because that's not when the football has not been a teammate. That's not holding your own stuff accountable if that's you're thinking that way. And, if you are thinking that way, it's probably what's talking to you. So, hopefully that message whoever was in that locker room at the time was heard from top of bottom.

And, we can move forward with that. What's it been like seeing that go from, you know, he was only playing like he's been... He's been playing for the defense hand running. How you've seen him handling that? I feel like he's handled with race. He's been humble about it. And, he's been vulnerable about it. You know, he's opened up. You know, he was surprised just like everybody else was. So, you know, it really was a family effort to kind of cope with what happened. But, obviously, try to find a way to move forward the right way and productively. It really feels like he's been alone with Jesse meat and just all the way through because, you know, he just sent the same things we're hearing the defense of our own. You know, all the things he's preached to us these past few years that made the defense what it is. You know, that make us fight this heart and the love in regard, my heart is all that he's now just bringing it to everyone here. So, it's just been cool to see the office and the special teams. And, you know, here, those messages, you know, feel his passion, you know, here is speeches for the life of 40 games and watching the lot there respond.

So, he's been really good. If you ever see him play, like, have you ever seen video, or have you been playing? Oh, yeah. It seemed like a very tough line. Yeah. If you want to cross the line back with a mohar there, you know, he's crazy or he can hear it really hard. But, yeah, as a kid, I definitely remember watching Coach Brick play. I remember his name, I remember his face. I remember all that. So, I respect him a lot as a person and obviously, you know, as an assent being a former player. And, you know, he'll plan with Patrick Willis. I believe Ronnie Light, I'm not mistaken, was like his mentor was, and I think Coach was, am I correct? I don't think it was it. Who was the, you know, not Patrick Willis. He was the head coach for this. He was the head coach. He was the head coach. Yeah. He was the head coach. He was the head coach. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, he knows a lot of ball. He's seen a lot of ball. Has that old school mindset, which I love, which I'm, that's who I am. So, you know, a lot of respect for Coach Brick for sure.

You were teething about his black rowing technique. You just blacked on. Yeah, a challenge flag. You just eat from, right? Oh, no, I just, I just eat on. I just eat on. You think your deepest is played in a couple of weeks. I think it's better to say we haven't played through our standard. You know, people are getting saved. What's the reason they're in bad, but at the end of the day, we're the ones that cost the white lines. We're the ones that have to, you know, handle the adversity. We're the ones that have to step up when the time's good tough. So, we got to reach out to ourselves to, you know, get back to our standard. Just, you know, having fun out there, just running around, hitting, you know, executing, getting turned over. So, that's just what we have to do because it's about to take us to the Wamp-Up All-Gangs. As far as, you talked about the top this is player pick. He doesn't like Jeff. He doesn't like Jeff. Like Colin. Got a coach coach Brick. Okay, coming back there. Had the top this as a player for what you saw and watched. How does that carry over to being a head coach?

I think it's a, I think it's a mindset, like his, his ability to take adversity where there's good a bad end, turning it into something and, you know, make it work something fighting for. Like I said before, you know, him being vulnerable, him opening it up into the deep things. Like the day him opening up to the whole team, telling his story, telling his why. Like that, that builds character, that builds trust and that, you know, that builds love and that builds the family. You know, that makes you want to go out there and play hard for him. That makes you want to go out there and feed his family. That makes you want to go out there, you know, do everything you can for him. For him as a, as a man, a boss or as a coach, because, you know, he would do the same thing off the field. And if he could play, he would definitely be doing the same thing for us on the field. So I think that's just, just a respect thing. He was jailing Mills. What have you seen from the Patriots offense so far with Drake May? Yeah. A guy who's, he's trying to put the ball in the air. You know, of course they are still trying to establish their run game. They got a good running back over there with Remind Jerry.

But young, young quarterback, I said, he's putting the ball in the air. And he's also, you know, he's getting those third and five, third and six. You know, he's converting those outsides with his leg as well. So we just have to be aware of that when he does want to take off scrambling and then those passing down situations. You know, covering down on those guys. As a former Patriot, like do you see similarities in the defense or is it totally different without Belichek there? Yeah, definitely similarities. A lot of those guys were there when I was there. I mean, D.C. who is the D.C. now we call him D.C. Coventon. He was there. He was the D-Lion coach, of course, Mayo as well. So they are kind of running the same type of defense, little tweaks here and there, but for the most part the same. Is there extra meaning for you playing at Foxboro this weekend? I don't want to put a snap on that because at the end of the day, it's time to win regardless. Whoever we are going against. When Sunday at 1 o'clock comes, you know, I'm pretty sure that I will be fired up and everybody will be able to tell.

But as of right now, just trying to stay focused, trying to stay calm throughout this process and when Sunday comes, just let it rip. Where do you feel like you are with this defense after coming here and quickly being integrated? I think the coaching staff, coaching them, they're a really, really good job with me every morning. One on one meetings, you know, detailing the playbook for me, through our walkthroughs, the practice, like I said, meetings in the morning to the point where I feel like I pretty much got a good grasp of the defense. So how much, how much more meat on the bone is there for you? Like what do you think your game plays well into this defense? Like what matches well? I think just the difference in general, as the safest to do a lot of communication, which I'm not afraid of. I think I'm in a part of defense with safety, have to do a lot of communication, have to play man, have to play in the middle, have to blitz. So I think as far as that part, my versatility allows me to do a lot of that in this defense and I think it compliments me really well.

Adding a guy like Hassan Radikin of the fold where you get some more pass rush juice to go along with Quinnin and Will McDonald, what can that do for the secondary? I mean, now, whether it's man opportunities or our zone opportunities, we're talking about being able to get the quarterback, have the ball get out of this hands quicker, faster. If not, you know, he's in trouble. You get a guy like Hassan where the slide may go to him now and you got a guy like Will 101 and you know how that goes. They make chip buff for those guys and now Quinnin gets the 101 and you know how that goes as well. So I think those guys complimenting us in the back end, I think it's going to be really, really good for what's going forward. You didn't overlap with him and Philly, I don't believe, but obviously have teammates, has anyone just, but either before this year or since reached out to you about what kind of player and teammate he is? Yeah, hard worker. Guys are going to go out there and give it his all and I mean, that's that's how we can ask for him. You know, I know he has a big expectation for himself and we have big expectations for him, but at the end of the day he goes out there, be himself, play full tilt to the whistle.

Whether it's 60 snap, 70 snaps, whatever it may be, that's how we can ask him. I know you've only been here for a little bit, but the standard of this defense usually is not to let up 37 points like in Pittsburgh. What has been the focus in the meeting rooms behind the scenes this week? That's maybe a little more in the light than weeks past. And that detail comes one day at a time, one meeting at a time, one practice at a time. We of course were ready for Sunday. We wanted to get this nasty taste out of our mouth from from last week, but at the end of the day, it's like I said, one day at a time, one practice, one practice at a time, one meeting at a time. And when Sunday gets here, you know, let the chips fall with it, man. Awesome, Jaylen, appreciate the time. Thank you. Thank you. I'm very serious about what it's to be great. I'm just wasting time on money. So I'm going to do the probably not big three with the culture being incredibly important. Being around the coach, you know, what kind of things that you notice around him, just whether it's how he is or just what you're thought of him being around the atmosphere.

He's an incredibly detailed guy. I got that for sure from a slightly watching film when he broke down. Just like some game film with me. And he also accomplished some of the guys that he's coaching the past that are similar to me. And you know, that was a, he really just showed how good a coach is, you know, getting no coach or bell during this experience. What has that been like? It was good. He's a very passionate guy. And I mean, I love that. And I had coaches to have that. And you can tell how much he cares about the guys about the program. About the psych, being dedicated, being driven to win, to succeed. What did they tell you about the opportunity here as far as meeting a player of your sort at a position on the offensive line? Well, I mean, they gave me a lift at the time when I'll be a good fit, you know, coming in. But I was, I think it was going to involve stress, you know, lots of other great, all kinds of linemen in the portal that have lost the risk of you saying that. To why is on now be good fit when it comes to, such as what you guys do.

What if you see does and what a psych the people here? What's kind of the ultimate feeling now about that Bet you at the end of the big experience, then what's kind of the feeling about them? Yeah, it's definitely good feeling. It's great. I'm glad that I was actually able to come down here to the, I mean, Zoom calls and phone calls are nice, but you know, in person is a lot different. And this is getting to know the staff here, getting to know Coach Herb, getting to know Coach Noel, like it was a great experience overall. Who else have you checked out during this process? What are the schools? I've talked to some others, so I've talked to a house, say it in Iowa and in A&M and really just, yeah, that's what we've been at. Yeah, I've tried to keep it short, try to keep it sweet. It really needs to be torn up up to schools. That's not the main priority, like it's. Are you entering decision mode now or do you intend to take some trips in your own January? Yeah, I'm done with the business. When do you want to decide? Sometimes with the Christmas. Good, all good. For those of us who only see maybe highlights of you, what are kind of your strengths and areas that you look at the improvement?

So, shrink wise, I would say, prior to this movement, I mean, I've been told by Coach Herb, you know, I'm very well for a 325 pound guy. I fight evident off-done. It's like meant to get out of my stance as a big thing for me, so big, and just be able to move people. But at the same time, also just being consistent and can't place any punch on it, forward in general to the second knee. I mean, if you're a big strong guy, then you can only do so much when you don't have the right technique. That's a big reason why I want to have a good, a good one, coach the work of just to refine that technique to be precise in everything. That's kind of like what I'm looking for to improve. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. I think it's a good start. Jump over a man, that's what he was ready to go. Definitely ready to go. Yeah, I mean, just when you look at the schedule he has for us and how it takes care of our body, you know, just the diligence and situation of football.

Coach McCarty, man, he's a great coach. You see, by the day, just us being ready in this week went opener and I'm just excited to build on that. I feel like I always feel good, not always, but I mean, this week one, this week one, something definitely fresh. You know, just got to continue to build on that and take care of my body and we want to be feeling good in December and January. Oh, it definitely felt great. You know, it was going to touch down, had a bunch of emotions, kind of had to lay there and soak it all in, but you know, it's glad to be back. How did you feel like everything? Very time in front and for us that two working starting the day, I think those guys, you know, played their tell off.

They competed. I think we had a great plan and we went out and executed it. When you were sitting on a bench in between play, what do you think about Mike's English defense and the way they put on the tournament? Oh, wow. I mean, I think it was late in the second quarter and I think I had like 30 yards, passing 30 yards rushing. I'm like, man, these boys are out there playing. I don't know about me. Went against that defense off season. Know how difficult it is to play them to prepare for them. But, you know, they they stepped up and answered the call. Throughout the season, I know you had to rough it and you took during the game, but coming out of that, you still have to open the faith in him, but you still play like, yes, the line shared season as opposed to maybe kind of things that happened in that game. Yeah, absolutely. Will is our quarterback. He's our leader. He didn't come here by accident and you guys have seen the product. He's put out there at the field week after week. So, you know, I don't necessarily think that he played bad in our last game, but you know, moving away from that, we have full trust in him.

He's putting together a great practice week and we're excited to see what he puts out there on Saturday and lead us. I'm going to have to go to just a couple more. Stephen means, Cleveland.com. I'll see you in a second. In your football life, when is the last time you think you have ever been disfresh traded with how games flowing in the game plan? Of some, if that makes sense? I would say, you know, there's there's rarely a Saturday that I'm not frustrated. You know, I mean, we can we can be the team by semi-like I'm saying, but there's always a standard that I hold myself to. I hold my teammates to and I hold my coaches to. So, that's kind of the standard around the building. So, we've all cultivated a really good culture here to where we're able to have tough conversations, hold each other accountable. Not only coaches to players, but players to coaches. So, there's always ways to improve. Any game Saturday, no matter if we win by 70 points or, you know, we lose by 70. We're always looking for ways to improve. You, Cardinal and Jeremiah, very good teamers, obviously.

But you guys don't tend to have the personalities that sometimes even do prototypical, very good receiver. Why? You know, I can't speak for those two, but I know for myself, you know, I just I just look at my life and I look at the way he's got his blessed being. It's hard for me, you know, not to bow before him and be humble in those moments. So, I'm not really want to talk to him of smack. I'm I'm going to go out there and do my job and I'm going to do at a very high level. You know, all the things I go on my head, I never really share all the time. But at my core, deep down, I'm a very real and deep competitor. So, I think that I know when I'm capable of love, I know that title of caliber player I am. But there's no need to really bow-sat or anything like that. Just put on the field and do what you're capable of. And find a question. Jeremy Birmingham, the podcast. One of your former classmates here plays a tendency now, a return time. And some comments about Ohio Stadium and about the crowd in Columbus.

Do you guys have like a message for Ohio Stadium or for fans who are hearing that and being told that the stadium doesn't get loud or that Arkansas, you know, what type of place is like? Yeah, I mean, you know, knowing Buck on Nation, I don't think I have to do too much motivation. We're going to come out there Saturday and it's going to be an amazing environment. So, that's just the type of fans we have. I'm not going to feed too much into the stuff that Tennessee is saying. But we're really looking forward to this opportunity. We're glad that we're playing at home just to be in front of our home crowd and from our families. So, it's going to be an amazing environment. I'm excited. I do have one more step. The only 37.1. Yeah, you talked about the accountability on players to players, coaches to players. But can you elaborate a little bit more on how the players kept the coaches accountable? Yeah, I mean, we've had a, you know, tough conversations throughout the year. And coach challenge in ways. How can I get better and we give them feedback? So, it's not really any different than the way they criticize us. So, you know, I think it's important to be able for coaches to be able to handle what players have to say.

Because in turn, a Mason better coach is just like they're able to coach us. So, that's really just that relationship that we have that we have is very special. And I think it's unique to our program. You agree that people are right for thinking that the best of offense could be that way? Or is it like a within our business? I mean, you can, I mean, you can tell you that anyway you want. We have the best running back field in the entire nation and we have the best receiver unit in the nation. So, we kind of, we're kind of jack of all trades. You've been moved around the office in the past of different things. Motion's different, straight and waste to get open. But has that increased any knowledge of intelligence here or is it kind of the same as it's been a previous year? Probably stay away from talking about scheme stuff. What was it that Jeremiah did that you think enabled you to be in? I don't know. Just coming in every single day and competing. That's really what we're challenged to do as as bug guys when we walk into the way we're going to coach make you're supposed to be there and show up and show out every single day.

You know, I have a step back and I like to have an off day. He took care of all his, you know, the non-negotiables of this program. He was never late. He made his way every single day. He gave his 100% effort. And at the end of the day, he was just winning a lot of competitions and just grinding. So, yeah. I'm going to let you, let's just bring a lot about brand new product. Brandon didn't get a chance to do a lot this spring. What stood out to you even when he wasn't on the field this spring, that makes things like he could be a legit back-back player for your life. Well, yeah, first and foremost, he got voted on by his peers to the leadership committee on our team, which is a group of about, you know, 16 to 20 of our guys who the team looks to as leaders. So obviously, you can see how people think of him on this team. They think highly of him. And he comes in every day as a very fiery competitive nature. And, you know, he puts in really hard work and days in and days out. So, even though he hasn't seen the field too much yet, we have no concern that when he does stuff onto the field, he's going to make a great impact.

He's only been here a year. Yeah. I heard last summer about him like, he's done as our spectrosized. He can be on the leadership. And he had to prepare for 165 days. Yeah, just his ability to be able to, you know, talk a good game, but also back it up. Not in a sense of playing football, but more in a sense of, we're going to be the hardest working team on the field. We're going to go in day in, day out. I'm going to beat you even when I don't feel healthy, even when I don't feel good, all that type of stuff. It's all mentality. I'm not going to... From far away, it looks like... ...violin matches. I think it's kind of a little bit like the young American. We're here with Derek, but when you see that in him, I'm not trying to prepare for the number 10 overall pick. Do you see that a little bit in the way that he can shift around? Yeah, he definitely is very fluid about the way he moves and we see it in his routes and his releases. So, you know, when all the White receivers are knowing the film room and he's getting crapped, he's doing all this body movement stuff. It's like, okay, we could see he got a little sum to him.

So, it's just about bringing him along. He wasn't... He just got here. First year here, kind of built on a long... There's steps you got to take, but he's definitely training in the right direction. I remember a lot of teams get talent for whatever reason you guys seem to develop the receivers better than anyone. What goes on out there that somehow helps Ohio State keep replacing you guys in Canada? We play Denzel, Davidson, Ibnelson, Germain Matthews, Jordan Hancock, Layton Ransom, Caleb Downs. That's really what it is. It's BIA getting this better every single day. So, tremendous credit to the defense and the ability to be able to develop corners like that. It's just good on good every single day. That's the way you get better. I like to go with the call this, and to get open. It's like a summer meeting. I mean, we definitely have a strong second there, I would say this year. But, you know, it's just... It's not just their talent that makes them special. It's their ability to go hard every single day. They show up every single day with a competitive nature. And, you know, we're going back and forth on the field every single day. They'll be bigger and spin at each other a little bit. But, it's all love at the end of the day. We appreciate them for getting this better.

Let's question the method. You do a lot of things this is all about to have. We're in and seeing what kind of guy he is so much. Whether he'll move around, whether he's just beaten anything. You see kind of that same horse how-filled and Brandon is kind of something you do. Yeah, absolutely. Brandon, you know, he came up, played running back for a lot of his life, played a little quarterback here in the air. Now he's received very, he can do a lot of different things. So, we just try to put him in a position where he can be the most successful in the position that makes him the most successful or just the ball on his hand. So, he tried to do that for him. And a bunch of other guys in the program who thrive with that. All right, let me go that. So, right now he hasn't done any interceptions. So, hopefully Russian coverage can work together so he can cause his first turn over the season. He's been a guy in the past that throws a lot of interceptions because he takes shots. I know he's even a throw the ball as far as he can in front of our crowd. So, you got to do a good job of plastering them. To participate in the run game, the run defense was a lot better in the second half Sunday than the first half. Does anything really change there at all? All right, Russian.

Just to piggyback off that, we got to continue to be better. Personally for me, I don't like seeing the amount of yards on the board. We did win. But, you know, I don't want to be the hindsight guy and forget about the run game. I think the issue for us is the issue for me. We got to be better. I don't want to be one of the last teams in the league in a run game. So, we're doing a good job. You know, our mindset is right. The coaches are emphasizing it. And eventually he's going to get going. Obviously, you never want to have a teammate be treated away like your own. But with Ernst Jones coming in, he's highly talented. There's a pretty good run defense kind of linebacker. What does that do for your defensive room? Terrier in my book, I. But it does it. It does a. I can't really speak on it because I don't really know Jones that well. I don't know his game. I've heard from others that I know that plays for the Rams. I said he was good, but as far as that, I don't know. Hopefully this move works out for the betterment. I'm obviously. I mean, we all want that to, but we'll see how it goes.

I feel like a positive thing obviously when John Schneider and your coach are working to get an impact player under team and the NFC is kind of this wide open. It can be viewed as a positive or negative thing. It depends on what, what window you look through. What's that process like for you in terms of having to learn guys and their tenancies and communicate with the new players that are coming in during the middle of the season? It's a big process. It's definitely not easy to rework your roster in the middle of the season. They're going to do what they're going to do regardless. And obviously I respect that. I'm for I believe in their system and what they want to do. But it's an adjustment for all of us to learn a new guy and kind of reestablish a new relationship and reestablish a new voice that you're going to hear making a call in the middle of the field, especially because he's the quarterback of the defense. So it's just something you got to get adjusted to all of us. Playing in a different weight this season has that been any sort of an adjustment for you? It has been. Just getting comfortable with my body again and figuring out my strengths and weaknesses and how to make sure all my all my weaknesses are just completely strengths.

So it's been a challenge in that aspect too. And I think I'm doing a good job by this so far. But Miss Pastrash is going well. How much of it is guys playing on each other? Like I'm thinking a boy is sack force from us. You know, two you collapse the pocket and then he's able to get them. Yeah, you're all in a... I would say last game was the probably the best game. Surprisingly, it was all working together as good as we did. I think these past couple games prior before that game. It's been a lot of us just... We just went in and it just happened to be like that. I feel like this Atlanta game was a good game of us communicating. The past game schemes, whether it's a game or just going to straight-worth. A straight rush and just reading off each other. And we had to get better at that. It's only been a couple games. We've only been seven games. We have a lot more football to play to get better and build our relationship on that aspect. If you dropped in coverage as much as you thought you might have. Um... But I'm par. I've dropped a good amount of time so far this year. I'm talking about doing it now so... Should put me on...

Oh, whoever, not put me on George Kittle. No. Have you seen Derek Hall grow in the last... For my seat in this year at the Interemptive? I mean, he's the same type of player. Honestly, only thing that's been different is his mindset and it's applying to the field. And he has to continue. You, if you... Organs, how's the game? I was. Yeah. Jackson had a duck jersey on the week after. Did you have something that you had to do as well? I had to do something that was a little more personal. But, uh, not... I didn't make that bet. But... Speaking of that, I don't know why we didn't run the ball in the last extension of the game. So, talk to the boys down the Columbus and tell them to run the damn ball next time. And just... Trust the kicker. But it's not good. Did you get the penalty, the intentional penalty late in the game? Uh, I don't know if that was on purpose. I think Mike brought that up to me and asked me, do you think it was on purpose or they did by accident? I don't know. But... It was intentional. It was intentional. It was a very serious move. I didn't... I wouldn't expect that. So, I was actually, you know, big brain played by him.

Did you think there should have been a second left? No. I'm being real. I don't want to be biased. No, we ran out of time. We just... My boy, my boy, uh, 18 was back there. It was too comfortable. But it's all good. He's going... They're going to learn. Uh, first game with Red Robertson Harris. Uh, what were your impressions of him? It was like 6-8. It was crazy. Uh, he's super... He's super, super strong. Um, I've been watching him. I've been seeing this game from afar from a while. I shouldn't have been watching him above. I've seen... I saw him in Chicago. I saw him in Jacksonville. You know, I just watched a lot of football and a lot of tapes. So, eventually you just see guys. You pay attention to who they are. Um, so, you know, it's been a unique process. So, just bringing them in. And he's picked up a defense pretty well. Um, very powerful guy. Uh, Versailles as well. And I think it's going to add a lot of... A lot of good plays to our defense here, so... Did you, Red defense, and lineman have arms that long? To, can nobody touch your chest? Are you in the ball game? Like, you don't want big, strong lineman grabbing you and... And trying to rough out you. Because they're already bigger than us in the first place, especially me.

They, like, 6-8, 3-30. And I'm... Wherever my way is. So, playing with extensions is very key for D-Linda. I think a lot better, like... I would say that he's got a lot smarter. And he also writes GB. I think he's there about Calvin's intelligence, you know, where he's grown. Where specifically is it? The film room? Is it, and I pick it up, you know, the playbook? Where have you seen that? The rain up a grab? I would say Calvin has gotten smarter just like... His game knowledge, like, expecting, like, a different kind of routes and stuff like that. Perfect. When did everything start to click for him? The last year was it in the soft season? When did you feel really comfortable with this game? I would say it... In the spring, I started to get a lot more comfortable in our defense. We said you break up the past yesterday with the... ...Streh Mai named them, sorry for your ask, but it was earlier. But what is like going up against him to you? It seems like you enjoy it. Yeah, I love it. He's tough. I like going against him a lot. He's really good.

What have you improved in your game just from that, for example? Those one-on-one matchups. This pre-season or whatever. You know how a bally-hooed this game is? So, Jill Mai, he forces me to play the ball because if you don't play the ball against him, he'll go get it. Yeah, yeah. And you, Dave, send it. How would you describe this defense now compared to this time a year ago from this standpoint of a confidence factor? You don't mean that you guys feel on the field? How would you describe it? It's different about it, I guess. I feel like everybody is a lot more smart than this here is. Everybody's like... I would just say that we're going to just smarter. Yeah, when you look up and layton ran some decided to come back and Caleb down, transfer it in. What did you feel about that? Did it just grow stronger in that one week span, two weeks span? You're still on up saying? I feel like those guys have played at that level. The level those guys have played at? Yeah, I would say that.

A down's coming in. What they say he was coming back, Zell says he was coming back, it's still like a group of people going to the net. Thanks, man. Of course. You can really feel the defenders around you. Like I said, if you can see 34 people around you can't really do too much. Like I said, there's a lot more space with his offense, a lot more holes in the defense that you're trying to get the playmaker into. So I'm excited to be able to work with that. You can't really do it as much in practice. You know you're not going to get hit, but more preseason and in the first couple of games I'm excited to see see what that looks like. I think of the sheets, especially. I'm excited, man. Like I said, from jump, he's a special player. You don't really get that so many players like him that's so quick, so fast, at least speed, and anchor around routes too. I'm excited to see what he does in the future, but I feel like that's the least they can do for him this year.

How do you think he would get me an off of it for another time? It's just speed, man. Speed, you can't teach speed at all. Just having us on opposite sides, even playing both sides. It's just speed down the field. You can run 15, 20 yards in breakers, out breakers. And like I said, you can have to play two safes most of the time. Or you can run the ball, you can get underneath the routes. It's going to be a great compliment to the offense, so I'm excited. Chris, you said you hope this new offensive, but playing make your decision to make place. What about you specifically, what's an area where you think you'll have more opportunity than this year game? It's a lot of areas that you can see to look at, to improve my game, but yards have the kisses to when I'm looking forward to just more opportunities with that more space. Just to showcase my speed and my ability with the ball. I'm excited to do that this year. Something that I really showcase the first two years, so I'm excited to be with the quick game element of it, just getting the ball in your hands.

Yeah, quick game, play action, more over the middle routes. It's a lot of different things that you can say that this guy's going to help that, but like I said, I'm excited. What do you think about the tennis team that's making you a good character? We're getting way better, man. I mean, it was our first year last year, so it was kind of up and down, but that's what it comes with the game of football. So we worked a lot this off season, OTAs, which was really good, and we got off to a good start these first two days of game, getting extra working. But that's going to come with time, so I'm not worried about that at all. We both competitors, we both want to be the best, so we got to do some to be good. Where do you kind of notice that difference? It's just like feel on the mouth. What do you kind of notice now that it's year two that gets more nap? What do you mean? So I dare you when you're just not. Oh, where do you kind of know? It's just like, it's more than that, man. It's in a fail, everybody's good, so we just got to know what each other is thinking,

pre-snap, post-snap, cover cheese, where the ball's going to go. Just read, what read I am in an progression, everything goes along with that. Just being on the same page, being, like I said, a chemistry is built with time, so just little stuff like that that turns into big things is going to be huge. You caught one from Spencer Routland at 8-2, what are your early impressions from? It's real talented, that's the first thing I've seen from him. His arm talent is out the charts, he's a real natural feel out there. He's going to be real good, I want to see him in action, but from my first impression, he's going to be a real good player. It's going back to the machine that you talked about all the different stuff you should do. You think there's still a lot more there for them? Oh, yeah. He hasn't really, I think this is the first year of being a receiver, two of our really receiver. In my opinion, we're both a receiver one, so I just be able to move around, run real routes,

feel like it's going to be a huge advantage for the same. It's a special player and I can't wait to see him ball. I can't wait to see him get more opportunities. You're going to see what he can do. My run real routes, he's just like an opportunity to run. Yeah, just getting more, you know, he hadn't really played too many plays in his first two years. He kind of just get thrown in there when he's getting the ball or when he's a decoy or something like that. He's actually being involved in the offense, always being in, even on run plays. I feel like he's going to be a huge advantage for him to get a feel for the game and be more natural out there. How hard is a receiver like that to be a shed kind of a, you know, think of him as the deep threat label and then, so people just think of him as a deep threat, but he can do more. How hard is it to kind of shed that label or that perception like the ball? I mean, that's what life everybody is trying to label somebody as one thing or two things, but I feel like you can showcase, I mean, that's not really who you are, you know what I'm saying.

As he gets more opportunities as you can see, you can see he can do more and more. That's what anybody on the team. So I'm excited, like I said, and for his huge opportunities, I'm going to get this year. And it's going to be a big one for the Saints. Does this scheme ask for more blocking from receivers as they're more responsibility? Oh, yeah, for so. I mean, that's what I told you to, we both have to block. And I know we're not the biggest guys or the strongest, but like I said, we want to be on the field. We got to be on the field for the play action plays, all those things. So we both got to go block B-Line and block linebackers, but that's what's coming football. So we both got to take that next step in our game. Is that somewhere there's like a payoff? Like you guys know you play from play action next time? Oh, yeah. There's going to be a huge payoff. Like I said, most of our office is based on play action, all the in-breakers, all the yards at the catch of a play. So we got to go in there block and like I said, take that next step and be able to be great for our team.

Like being here? Oh, yeah. So after I feel the weather out here, man, that's what I'm used to. I'm not using the war and it's out there trying to catch my breath. It's a great opportunity for us. Can you get a chance to see family and friends at all? So this is their football friend here? Not yet, but they're going to come by every song. Appreciate you all. Thank you very much. Bro. How much is the content that you guys throw against those B of D every day? And I'm still not sacked from it. Yeah. That defense, that defense. What is that against your guys? It makes us better all over the field. Whether it's us inside or outside. We got a great second there. We got Jordan, IGB, Joe, Jermaine, so they're getting us better each and every day. We got the best DBs in the country. So I don't think there's going to be a game where we face better DBs than what we got here. Who's your favorite corner to do against? It depends on what type of day you have and stuff like that. So if you know you to the boundary, you're going to get hands on one from IGB.

So you got to be ready and then they're going to break. So you got to get in and out of your brick with them real fast. Talk more trash than Zell. No, one. You're going to feel one out there. You're going to feel him. You're going to feel him. He's going to feel him. He's going to feel him. Talk some more trash. You were Brandon then. Brandon talks some more trash. But when you get me started, I could be a hothead. You just got to get me started. That's it. What do you think of the model in this first game? He's going to be good. He got the wiggle. He can do it all. He just got here. So it's just a lot being thrown out of him and stuff like that. So when he relax, get the rope up. He's going to be really good. What do you get here as a freshman? I ask hard on the same thing. What's the easiest thing to pick up on right away? And what's maybe the most difficult thing for you guys now going to develop? The easiest thing is to pick up on your own file by adding stuff like that. And the hardest thing is not getting in your head. Because we got great receivers all around. So you have a bad day. Another guy having a great day. You just can't get down there yourself and lose confidence.

You know my aunt, I was a team employee. You refresh them actually. You'll turn a lot of hands. What stands out the most people have? JJ's a dude. So he goes out. He's going about his business like a dude. He makes the play. You're going to get too happy. You're going to get too mad about it. He's just going on like next play mentality. I'm going to hard talk to that. He's going to run the entire field slot. What do you like about the road? I like you. You can't really game plan for somebody like that. Because you go on the slot. You can expect him one thing. But he's outside. You got to expect another thing. Kojo was just talking to us about his leadership role behind the scenes. How have you seen that? You started specifically about showing Jeremiah kind of the way. But for you or for any of the guys, how has he been a leader in that role? JJ Kojo has been a good hit. He's been here longer than most of us. We're really unprepared to Kojo and stuff like that. So whenever we need help, we ask Kojo. He's a funny player. I think he probably won the funniest in the room. So we look at him. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's a good player. So when you look at him, you always can get a laugh. And he always gonna pick us up whenever we're down.

Who are your favorite receivers to watch in Molo G. I like G5. I like Manlick neighborhood receiver baller right now. I like the Vontale, Justin, and Marr. And for people who are, I mean, you're talking like a guy who's ready to like pop off a little bit here. What are people gonna see from Cardinal Tade in 2020? They go to the people they ball and talk my trash with it. I have a couple of questions. Do you want to go for it? Oh, yeah, definitely. What's your best advice for this Chicago player? Yeah, it's Chicago. Yeah, it's Chicago. I got a lot of claim for it. I just went to school down there. What's your best advice for this point? I'll tell him, play ball. Keep your head up. Keep your head up. Keep your head up. I turn up and play ball. You go up and you go higher down. But it's live. You know, now that you still care and you still want to be a part of this. You know, just watch and practice. There's a couple of little things we're doing different. Whether I'm communicating with Dumbar or other people. You know, so here.

That you're also talking with him. And you get him pointers during the off season. Just a constant communication. How do you see who grows the person, you know, and how he's approaching things and how he getting ready for this season. Where is his routine? You know, I think the thing with Keanu is he's more comfortable. You know, it's not his first time around the track. It's actually like you can catch his feet under him. You know, I always think when you're in your rookie season, you're going from bowl game. I don't even know what's going to play in a bowl game. Sorry, Wisconsin. I don't even know. But, you know, personally, I just think when you go from bowl game to training for the combine to, you know, rookie minicamp, OTAs, the, you know, minicamp, I mean, the training camp, the regular season. You know, you don't get a time to really catch yourself. You know, you understand some playbook now. You can be more vocal. You know, I think with my absence, the other guys' absence, you know, you need guys like that to step up and be ready for those opportunities.

What do you think of your surgery you had in your office? Is it the same you had during the season? What was your... Just tightened down everything. You know, my left side, because I was overcompensating a little bit. But, you know, it was... It wasn't anything that lingers, you know. I'll say this, a groin's not like an ACL. It's not like anything's ever going to get affected again. You know, you know, feeling good, able to do everything, squat and heavy, with power and speed. So, you know, it feels good to get after a gun. What do you think of what the team was able to accomplish? It's not a feat in terms of bringing guys like wrestling and things like that. I think they're all good acquisitions, but, you know, you never want to be known as a paper champ. So, you can't win the off season. I think the work gets done out here on the field. It's done in the classroom. It gets done training. You know, and then you see where you're at in training camp. And then you build on that. You know, I think we got the right guys in the building.

It's just about putting a complete team on the field. Can you tell us how difficult is it to separate the business part of the game for the actual football player? You know, you always have to treat it like a business, because, you know, one day it's going to end. And that's a good job. It's not like in college where, you know, you got four years guarantee. Well, now you don't even know what the NIL knows, crap, or transfer portal, portal. But, you know, you have to, I still have love for this game and I still work my tail off and I still put everything into it. And that's not going to change. But you have to know what you bring to the team and what your value is. Can't be able to be out there with your teammates today emotionally. Great, you know. We got a new training staff and still learning the warm up. A little different. But, you know, I loved it.

You know, just getting after it. Learning new guys, going through the same drills I've been doing by myself. I actually like having more people around because, like, kind of go sterk crazy when it's just you and another guy you're like, damn, I gotta go back up for another rep already. And so, you know, it's nice to be up here and get a chance to be with my guys. Can we confident, and feel we'll get down to the term motion? Oh, I'm going to try to remain pretty neutral because I want to be to be the way. I know as I want to be here. But we'll see what happens. It's my last year here. I've had a great career here, but I look forward to playing. What that second surgery you said at this time was on the left side. Was the first time around on the right side? During the season, left side. And that was just tightening down my core muscle.

It wasn't the same as my ad doctor. You know, you can ask Dr. Bradley, Dr. Zuckerbron, who did the surgery as well. You know, if anything's going to help me and make me a lot stronger from here on up. You said you were training with another guy who have you come to mind? Tyson, I've been training with him for the last eight years. We've always trained together. We've got a trainer up north. Shout out to Cole Haley, who's my guy. He trained a Heath Miller, Brett Kiesel, multitudin guys at all respect. And we've just been getting after him. Can we do a very few guys historically, 35, they paid big contract. Did he do that spelled against you? I think there's not a lot of history behind it. But, you know, for me, I look at as I'm not looking to be like anybody else. You know, my game is different from everybody else in the sleep. You know, I like to think I can play the run in the past.

And that's where I'm different. You know, I remember last year Mike T. He just brought to my attention. You know, the thing that's really cool is you watch powerlifters. And, you know, my game's built on power and technique. And those guys go into their 40s. And so, you know, that's what kind of research I'm doing behind the scenes. But, you know, we'll see what happens. There's not a lot of history, but I'm here to make history. And I'm here to, you know, win another super wall of air and, you know, have a great season. Do you have a set goal for yourself on how many years you want to play in the NFL? Or do you just take things here right here? You know, it was top answering that question right after the season. I will say this guys, I can't keep answering that question right after the season. That is not fair to the season that's not fair to my family. You know, but in my mind, I got three years. And I want to maximize them. I want to play at a high level. And I want to go deep into playoffs.

And, you know, we got a good team. And I'm going to do my part to be ready for all those situations. You know, if you're playing on practice in the New York court to look at your own, it's a possibility that you might hold in and force the new issues. I have not even thought that far. I've taken a day. A day. You know, I told my agent and we talked about it. I mean, we were cool coming out here. You know, I'll be here for many. And then I'll be there for training. I don't know what the work entails, but when we get there, we'll cross that bridge. Why would you have three more? Remain a steeler for those three years. You know, there was a conversation between me, Omar and Mike T. And there's certain guys that are one helmet guys. You know, and I want to be one of those one helmet guys. And, you know, there's a hunger and desire there. But that doesn't mean just hanging it up and calling it a career.

To me, I think, you know, I got more bullets to fire and, you know, I'm excited to do that. What's the newbie? Last one. You and Russell Wilson are going to be out there with Walter Man. What's the pain in the end of the year, Pat? I saw Russ's on social media. But I have been out of chances to see it. I like the surprise happens when it happens. But, you know, it's cool to have another, walk's pain in the end of the year, winter. You know, I think it's an honor to be there. And I'll say one thing. I won't be here. I'm just telling you guys, so it's not a big deal. I won't be here because I have to do a Walter Payton Man here thing on Thursday. It's not like I'm skipping. But, you know, it's an honor to be with Russ. And, you know, it's an honor of doing things in the community. Doing great work. And, you know, the cool thing is, as much as we get honored and nominated for these things,

the work doesn't stop. And, I can see that with Russ's foundation, you know, we had an event for our foundation. And my mom was quick to tell Russ, hey, we need the partners somehow. And I was like, mom, let's just enjoy the event. But, you know, it's really cool to be a part of a lead group. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Chris Hicks sees in, kind of trying to push for a job. Is that like a confidence booster for you? I mean, I'll say it was a confidence booster. One reason I'll say that because you get like good coaches who believe in you and like they give you the tools to go out there and just play with confidence. You know, they're doubting those stuff. Like, you got your teammates who got your back. Like, my first play when I got a third Tennessee, like when DeZel, IGB and I remain. Like, first thing they say is like, no, worry, just go out there and play with confidence. You know, you know the tools, it's usual tools. Just go out there and make a play. And we're about to play coming to you. You know, we're just showtime, it's your job. You just do it. And then like, say what Coach Walter is like, he gives me, he puts me in a position like, at the drills we put in, the work you put in,

the one on one, so I'm just going out there and just perform at the highest level. How much better are you right now than maybe last month and Coach Rick Writers? I mean, I got way better just because I've transitioned a little bit to the inside. Nick was far so I'm like, now I'm actually trying to like catch, catch, take me again. It's been often covers, it's not always press at the line. So it's like, now I'm able to like move my feet, move my hands, like see, like what I got to do just like, just in case I got to go back in corner, I can, I'll plan, well, I'm very confident out there. Do you think that Nick was an actual fifth of you or have you had to kind of convince yourself to transition to that? I mean, I feel like it's natural for me because I feel like me, individually, I'm a fast learner, a fast learner, like Coach has helped us learn fast and like, because they're always honest about the techniques and stuff, so you like, you write down, like you pick up all the things you did, like when we get out here, they coach us to like the techniques, so we used to go out there and play like fast spot. And it would be like, like, reverse until you're able to go out there and just compete. Is that where you kind of stuck this spring or have you been kind of mounted on?

So I've really been stuck there this spring a little bit, right? Whenever you get into like other things, I just bounce out there every once in a while, just like, just have fun, see if I still got it every once in a while, so it's as good as to go out there to compete at most spots. You mentioned the technique, what technique, you know, tips and things that you had to pick up and learn from coach walking from the beginning to the end. I mean, this is what I always like, he always, because what, coaches are asking hands, like see it, you see it, move your feet, and then get your hands on the mat, so it's like when you get like, when you out there, you able to like, just process like the way the receiver comes off the ball, looking at the hips, and seeing like the way he moves, and like, are you able to pick up like the row concepts you can get out of that, like, so it's being like, other coach walls for me, like as a player, and just like him breaking out football to you, like one on one, it's like very beneficial. What was the hardest part of making that transition from outside inside? I really say like, you know, cornering, you got some cover two, you cover three, you cover one, it's easy,

but then you got nickel, you got so many responsibilities, you got to see like the row concepts, you got to be able to process, like, dying those rows faster then, which you got to do in that corner, and just be able to like, everything's quid, like, you're transitioning, you got to like, you got to move fast, you got to just learn to move fast. It's like game recognition, where you think maybe you've run the balls since you got to, and how did you got to go to the ball today? I was definitely saying, I'll definitely say yes, because how you get to like college, it's a little bit different, like in high school, we don't got to worry about things like that, but when you get to college in school, like this, like your recognition of plays, and like, you'll know your jobs, the way, like the coverage is supposed to be played, and understand all your teammates or positive you have in the field, it's like, it gets easy. What have your product been? It's so far. It's very talented. He's a great dude, he's a humble guy, a great teammate, very supportive, that's like, God, I actually don't want to wrong, because you can feed off your energy because you can see like, when you make a play, he's like, he like, IGB, it's like, IGB2.

So he's like, when you get off there with God, it's like, that would get energy, it makes you play a little bit harder, and it's like, and then like, when you make a play, it's out there, it's helping you, it's being out there with him, he's a good, very good player. One of those guys, of course, you can't fool kids. It's a couple of hard times, they obviously have lots of players who are just probably serious. Now, what is it about Flunville that gets you through any play at Ohio? It's a big question, I know. It's a big question. I know. I'm just such a player, because you have so many kids, come out of Globo, and just play at games, elite schools, and they like, like, track's a big part of it, because I mean, to be actually in a Globo, everybody got to run a track, like it's mandatory, you don't really get a choice. Do you ever do this, like, get out here, and I know how to compete, and then like, like, getting bills and mental toughness into you, so I was like, have you like, have you now, you got to be mentally tough, because I mean, life's not going to be easy, so it's like being out here, being able to compete, and when you down, just pick yourself back up, I mean, that's what he is down to me, and that's what he is down to me. That's what he is down to.

Beginning, like, he played a quarterback in high school, too, and he hadn't made a transition to receiver at here in Ohio State, and this is how it's going to be rough at first, but he has to push me to get me to what I need to be. When you think back, and just like, you're upbringing, you know, coming from, you know, Africa being over here, just what do you how did all you feel, call of that kind of helped mold you into who you are now? Yeah, but he's definitely maybe like tough, and like, not afraid of like new change, and he's willing to just adapt to my environment. What was it like for you coming in here, as a freshman, and getting to see his team, go win a national championship, those first few weeks here? Definitely was a high motivated, you know? Being a freshman, it wasn't really my team though, so like, I didn't really get it, so that makes like, pushing me like that once, when it's my turn, I got put in the word, I wanted the same position, but with a ring on my finger. What did you learn from those guys just about what you need to do to have a chance to go and call us what they did? So you just got to,

don't let the past affect you, like, and just, yeah, I'm a lendless, you got to be a lendless, you got put in the word, it's not easy at all by any means, and it's gonna be hard, but yeah, play everything into it. What do you view as like, the best attributes of your game that you're gonna bring to this team? I'll just say, my size, my speed, I can take the top off the defense, and I can play tough and physical. It's about that. What's the last year, then like, when you think back to the whole reward last year, what has the last kind of year been like for you? I've gone from the player that was kind of calling me a process to make sure that I'm playing with some of the big trends I can see. I was the last year, I was definitely chasing back, because I was always, my sophomore year, I was hurt, and my junior year, I got hurt during track, so I was able to, like, I was a highly excluded athlete, and this time last year, like when my recruitment really picked up,

and it's just like, it's been crazy, like, once after another, like, he was just leaving me, in my corner, in my coach's everything, and they just give me the motivation to go. What is your relationship with like, with Tavius, with the same regards, with the two that stayed in the team, and the other team, with the three working in the team for the time. Oh yeah, that's a big good. Before I even got a hosting offer, and before I even knew who he was, exactly, I actually threw it with them, a couple of times in the middle. Bella, a lot, she was a chocolate, yeah, I was working with, I knew it was at head coach, and he invited me to come and run routes, and I actually ran routes for Tavius right, if we was exactly, and it liked it. We first came to New York, we had a lot more, we got got together, I was the freshman class, and he's strong, he's working on everything. He's definitely got nice on. This is the score of every two years, I think it was pretty tough, to come as that, and I hope to do it all in here with the president. The quarterback?

The quarterback? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they're definitely childhooded, and they say, I always say, I just love being on it, and they make it hard for you, and when you play this high level competition practice, and you go on a game, you're like, twice as easy into the practice, and he's really built on stuff. Is there going to be a moment in question? I was going to say, I was going to go down at home, oh wow, this is difficult, this is something that, you know, I think it's like a welcome opportunity. I think it's there been kind of like a moment first, I realized, oh wow, these guys are really good at this. Yeah, just like, I just first, like on high school, I would just take some like reps and every season, just because, yeah, I just had past speed, and had catching abilities, like space separation, and I come to college, and go, everybody's fast, everybody's big, so you have fun, new ways to get open, push yourself to, hire your IQ. Yeah,

and like, Coach Lauren, I said, you got to be who you are, not who that guy was, yeah, you can just have a beam, definitely that's what you need to be. When did you feel like you've lost your last year, or they could, through the count of you and stuff? I mean, you remember, how the count of, came along? I think it started in like fall camp, just flashed, and then, got to like the first day, was running around, saw him, so, I don't know what it was like, but it was a good concentration, so, I'm just being great, I like him, I like his personality, I like him all feeling, that's, that's important, so, yeah, and the life backwards, what kind of, is there going to be any, differences, responsibilities, or any system, or is it going to be the same or is it going to be, it's the same, oh, we just, we just learn it right now, we just work it out, we just work it out, we just learn it, we just learn it, we just learn it, um, things see how he, he said, what he could do in his defense? or just, what he could do in his season, we could do in his season,

I think he's going to pop off his season, for sure, I think this definitely going to be one of his, his year, for sure. Got to. do you think it's the biggest difference between French and French and French, and that's not the same thing? um, to me, it's, it's no different, they both, they both coach you, and they both, like, they're hard on you, but they want you to be great. So I don't think there's no difference. Wait, you're talking about how, please, you're looking out what you guys can do and fitting in, do you think jitters you want, so you're trying to plug in touch with guys? so, oh, no, I don't think so. what's the result of the approach? you know about the sun, you know, you know, it's a player of something pop off? um, think sunny and great year, first before anything sunny and great year, I feel like he like the voice, he could be thinking something sunny and just, can't, worry about for the whole team to understand. So sunny definitely, great year before anything.

I'm not sure if I might as well be sunny, or not just for a while, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, I bet, in particular, you know, suddenly you get knocked up steady, you get knocked up, you get knocked up, you get knocked up. oh, oh, all the Bianchi pop up now, not a lot of things on the campus. and that is the same way we talked about earlier, and alsoれた these things and you know what I was saying? you know?. shouldn't have done the worst ever before, but it's probably more interesting from this score. I'm motivated. Are you going to be part of that? Then you have to be one of the great linebackers to play the higher stage. Oh, I'm ready for it. I mean, that's what I'm here for. I just know how to work. That's all I have to do. Just give it effort and just going east day to day.

I want to say this with full respect. When we see JJ and Sonny, it's like, that makes sense. When you're the third guy, were you surprised to be named? What puts you in that same category? Yeah, I was a little surprised. I kind of have feeling. Because I kind of like, I mean, I kind of could have guessed it. But I just knew that I was one of my goals at the top. So I'm going to be an iron bug guy. And I just couldn't work. It was another thing. So what did you get in that was what it did mean? How did you say that? It was really special right after I texted my parents. They really knew what it meant until the video came out and the question they explained it to us. So then, absolutely, it's a very interesting thing. Back then, when I was playing football, back then, right, bar and games, did you just tell the difficulties of going back and forth? Not just like when you were learning them. They actually had to play both of those five. Yeah, it's pretty difficult. Especially dirt and game. You have to put the whole mind around. It's a lot easier in practice because it's

like getting like seven down. But like, going back to my end game. It's pretty hard. Like in high school, it was every other play I was in back in school with the triple option. So I knew it. I knew it. It was comfortable with it. And sometimes I just take a warm walk into the line to my screen. And I had like, say it to be the same playing game. Again, I mean, more times I get into my head. You bring in two factors and put them in the brain. You try to find the right way. You're up to 20 to 20 times. You take them out of the bag. You try to keep them out of the box. But also, I like them. Yeah. So I got to set the example. And then, like, my first two weeks here, I was like teaching them. Like, I don't know what they're expecting these plays because I've seen some new plays for them. And even new defense. So like, I like technique two. Because I keep same technique. But just helping them out. Because we need all of this. When did you like, when did you idea of playing back what kind of kind of battle to do with the battle like Raff? The season that I was in was the Boji Ball and Game.

What did you think when it had a battle that everybody came about? They came close to the springtime. They wanted to have, they just wanted to have a good fight out there. And they want to play the best so they just won't make them choose. What do you have to do all of this? They're awesome. They're great. A lot of eyes. It's awesome. Because everyone's watching something. It's not like someone's only watching this place. So you know what's going on. We've got to feedback to you. After a play, after a practice, we're all three off the world. It's awesome. They can tell you like everything. Because they know what's the less I had with Coach Johnson, Coach Dickies, watching Levin, Coach O'Neill, the way he feels about what, right? So you know what's going on, it's both. How has the experience that you got the big reps in the big games, all that helped to come into the side? It really boosts my confidence. And I can lead the young guys too. Because I know it's going on because they really don't really miss this first time spring. So I like to do my stuff. Just that leadership of them. Versatility has also been mentioned a lot.

It's been all on both sides with all playing in different spots. You know, I rate on that. Yeah. This is. Yeah, I can beat that question all the time. Can you just talk about the versatility that Coach has been talking a lot about that on both sides with all the guys in different spots being able to win? Yeah, so like, you all see it in last year. We lost two stars, all maybe started. So like really guys need to step up and like going to season. I was playing a start left guard. And I didn't really know I was going to beat the bounce over the right. And what a Donnie knew is I'm about to have to attack them. So like, it really helps everyone. I think a lot of guys this season are playing multiple positions. And it's going to help us. But if you learn from Donnie and John, you're setting all that up. Just like technique wise, they really helped me like pretty snap stuff. And like no one in my life was going to be a good guy. It's a great place to start. All right. Thank you. Thanks. I'm going to stack another one. How do you manage your own expectations

when you have 14 pressures, but you're not putting in the sack numbers that you'd like to get? I think just staying the course and continuing to get better, which I think I've done. And then hopefully that day comes where the stats come. But I think I affected the game a good amount last week. So that's good for the team. Nick, I'm sure you was in a Super Bowl. There are plenty of players you'd think about. And Dan, the fun way here we done better there. But when it comes to the fifth and the ninth, the Homes run over time. Is that one particularly greener or fourth one? So it's a little garic, you're going to stop them. But is that one particularly greener? Is that like the whole of the ball? Yeah, it's difficult to get over. Yeah, no, that's tough, especially because we have calls that could negate that. And we just didn't really. Like they ran in the zone read a few times. I mean, just didn't find an answer to it.

But yeah, I mean, I definitely thought he was going to hold it or keep it. But I got to do my job, especially in a big moment like that. You can't go out of your job. But we definitely have a plan for the zone read this time. So hindsight's 2020. Did you clap? Or did that? That is your job, right? That was, yeah. OK. But then you like mid-player kind of like. Yeah. Did a shrug, but not a solid occurred, right? Yeah. And even the hints at what should have happened? I mean, there's a couple of variables. I think the tight end came across. So that changes some things to the guys behind me. So I honestly don't know who it is. But I just tried to make it decisive for the guys. Did the ideas come up from that room? Just watching in terms of how you try to attack from this time around from your experience? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like any game that you played a team before you

watched the tape and learned from it. Does this often define the torres they get less in trouble for holding or is it just depending on the group? Last year, for sure. Last year, they had two of the top penalized guys in the league. But it doesn't look too bad this year, but we'll see. Is there more refereeing crews that let it go more than others? It seems different every week. So let's see. Do you count your steps throughout the day? Is that why you use a scooter? That's kind of how it started. I don't count them. Right, I just take a little off the legs. We're not. It's a lot of walking from building to building. You've been doing team riding with your crew so I'm back having him break them around. Good morale boost. Yeah, it's good to have him. And I'm excited to watch with him. Recent history has been changed. I'm just starting to have the game. What's it been like to go back and be looking at them? I'm sure you're out of there.

And looking at them. I'd say, it's definitely a little emotional. But at this point, it's just a game. So we're just looking at the tape, trying to learn from it. A lot of similarities from last year. Few new guys, but really good defense and offense that obviously has 15 back there. So I'm always dangerous. You said it's a little emotional. Do you try to tap into those emotions or do you kind of want to just put the distractions to the side and treat it like another football game? Yeah. A ladder. Oh, man, I try to prepare like him. I like that from him. He prepared when he prepared he intentional. So that's definitely something I try to do like him, but like you said, I'm leaving. But when it comes to preparing and being intentional with studying and how I prepare for practice, I'm definitely taking that to him. Anything from the leadership system? No, I'll code you leave.

I'll tell you a different type of person in the game. Those big sheets of film. Then when you go on something else, I don't know something. What's that? Where's that come from? Just being honest. Like you can't be more than those guys when they ask you what happened to you, you try to lie and then you get in the film room. And it's obviously lying here. So it's the other thing that you don't know. Now, how much of a punch you got to prove what is it? If you don't know something, you know what I'm going to do. I can't believe the last time that happened. So that's a good thing. Those big sheets of film and Cody don't know from a leadership standpoint. What has he taken out the door with it? You know, maybe our male? Somebody's got a feel in that slot. Yes, sir. I think he's definitely some big sheet of film. Because Cody was a great player, great leader. He's like with a quarterback and a defense. He's definitely some big sheet of film. And like, Coach Lauren, I said, though, you got to be who you are now. Yeah, that guy was right. I can't just say to being, but definitely that's what he's

been doing. When did you feel like you glossed with last year or they could truly count on you and stuff? I mean, you remember how the count of came along? I think it started in like fall camp just flash. And then after like the first days, weren't around. So I was all on. I said, I don't know what it was. It was like a good concentration. I'm just being great. I like it. I like this personality. I like a more feel. And that's a poor. So yeah. And the life backers, what is there any difference responsibility as we're in this system? Or is it going to be in the same way as it's so hard to say? Oh, we just, we just learned it right now. We just worked it out. We just worked it right now. We just learned yesterday. What do you think about CJ Hicks and what he can do in this defense? Think CJ Hicks. You said what he can do in his defense? Or just what are you going to do this season? We can do this season. I think CJ will pop up this season for sure. I think this definitely going to be one of his years for sure. Got to. We think it's the biggest difference between French and New York

and Georgia and the future. What's it? To me, it's no different. They both coach you and they both like they hard on you, but they want you to be great. So I don't think there's no difference. We're talking about how you're looking at what you guys do during fitting in. Do you think Judith will want to be part of clubbing? I think that you think that you think that you can do it? Oh. No, I don't think so. What's the result for most of you about the sun? Either on or off the moon? Is there some air or something? I think sunny and great year. First before anything sunny and great year. I feel like he liked the voice. He could be thinking something sunny and just can't worry about for the whole team to understand. So sunny definitely a great year before anything. I'm not sure if that night is something sunny or not. Why bad person? Because I think people are the people. That's it. How does that show itself? Is it obviously local? You know, it's in the form.

That's it. What is something that's unique about that? On top of the whole field or what is leadership? Whatever. Man, like I said, he's just a great leader. Like he, he a vocal guy. And like you said, it shows up on the field too. So he's hard to follow up to a guy who says something that don't own and like they not own their stuff. So sunny one of those guys who he's own his stuff. So when he lead everybody listen. There's obviously been long string of linebackers success at Ohio State. Say it again. Been a long string of linebackers success at Ohio State. Now you look at, you know, guy like sunny taking that next step this year. I'm motivated. Are you going to be part of that? Then you need to be one of the great linebackers to play at Ohio State? Oh, I'm ready for it. I mean, that's what I'm here for. I think you talked about early in the week of China and I don't know if I'm not getting too high 100 motion. How does that motivation for you show up on an idea that basically is more preparation, more film? How does that look like for you? Yes, just really an edge in everything you do. I feel like in carrying that kind of pissed off mentality.

I mean, obviously not letting it affect you in a negative way. But making it remind you, hey, like I'm going to go the extra inch here. I'm going to see if I can find something extra on film late at night. I'm going to go over this sheet again and play it one more time. All these little things that I just, we just can't let that what happened last night happened again. We were earlier this week, but it was talking about how you played back here football. You tend to be playing in the Rose Bowl. You grew up in a big 10th country. What does it mean to take part in this game? What does this game mean to you? You kind of grow them up? It's a ton, man. It's crazy that God has blessed me and put me in this position to be here and be the quarterback in the Rose Bowl. A game that I grew up watching every single year, some unbelievable games that I've watched in the Rose Bowl, some classics. And just to be a part of it is a blessing. And I think we're all humbled to be here. And we're all understanding of how unbelievable this opportunity is, and we're not taking it lightly, because, again,

it's a business trip. And the only thing that we're looking at is we win this game. We go on a playing top role. So it's really exciting. It's crazy that we're here and that we're a part of this, but can't let it be too big. And just got to go out there, play football, and get it. I think so. I think so. I think you go back and watch the film. And I just didn't. And I'm hyper critical in myself. And I think we all are here. But I just look at it. I'm like, man, I don't think. Anyone this year beat us. I think we beat ourselves every time. And you watch, and we had to turn over in our own 20-yard line. And they got the kick. That's two possessions. It's going to be our staff. And then obviously, the way the game ended, and we're still one point away. And that's what hurts. And it was a hostile environment at their place. I'm just thankful that I said this the other day,

but I'm just thankful that we get there. Do you feel like you're looking back to two weeks ago at the Tennessee Youth Collector and confidence about this movie? They may be wanting to show the movie. Yeah, put it all together. What is your sense of the team from that aspect? Does it feel a little bit different? Yeah, I think a game like that, you know, instills confidence in you guys, because it shows us we're looking at people. But you can't be complacency. And it can never be comfortability. It has to be confidence and drive. And that's what it has to be. It has to be like, man, like we can do this. When we play at our best, if it was anyone in the country that can hang with us, but we have to be on our game. We have to make sure that we can't let anything go back there. A lot of people take this. A lot of people. I'm happy. I'm happy. I'm a motion of this often played to get out of children. What do you mean by this movie from the office? Like a picture of it? I just, you know, at the end of the day, I just want to keep the ball moving down the field.

Getting in a rhythm, I think it's going to be big for us. And I think we did a really good job at that in the Tennessee game. We're weathering the storm a little bit early, and the real world early calls that we got to fail to sound in that game. And kept us going. But regardless, we kept the drive going. And for me, keeping us on schedule, taking care of the football, and making sure that we can bird on third down in our situation will be good. We do all that stuff. Obviously, for me, and I want to be these guys, and drive the machine because we got, when we're on our stuff, I mean, we're on our stop, so we just got to make sure that we finish our preparation, right? These last two days, and go out there and put our best reward for the game. Thanks for all the pain you've got. You come out this way. I'm talking about this, just recently, talking about how what I want to do for the world is I want to bring that home energy, the e-braw, right? So last year, of course, I'm sure you've been doing it for years, but the year when I spent my own, he brought a lot of energy, excitement,

and happiness in the room, which is his natural energy, to where I only had to focus on me. I didn't have to make sure other guys would feel some type of way when it came in here, because hump brought that. And I have a hump not here. But I saw a winged in for a room. I want to be that guy who makes sure I'm on this amptical practice. Everybody's, we're taking a field team on period. It's a low day. There's something, it's a different. But I want to make it feel like home's come. You're like, you have a pair of stuff to trick. I want to bring that, because that's what we at hump did to each other. We would have each other up there, too. It's like, you're a lot. We're lit. So I want to do that. I want to bring that energy. I want to make bring more guys. You also do that. I want to do that from day one. I kind of want to do that from day one. Talking to them. And obviously, it's the time I spend. Obviously, it's the before-automated started.

Just being in my self-justing about what the room needs. Because I know I renewal as one of leaders, my mom and my friends is that we need a guy like that. It's going to make sure the O-line is picked up. Ready to go every day. Those healthy, kind of little things are having a practice of people saying anything. And how I made it lead, maybe different than somebody else made it lead. And I like to practice, at least, like, the lead with positivity. You know what I mean? So the energy I have going beyond just, though, I have to be honest, like, to, so I was kind of, how I did. It's going on. Living my whole life on the NFL team captain, like, specifically, and I felt I wasn't a captain in high school. Wasn't a captain in college. But I want to make a joke, I want to make a high school. So I feel like I'm not going to be a captain like he's that I felt. But that would be awesome. But that happens, I'd be great.

But not, either way, I want to assume a role as a captain from the respect of the guys, until they've made the usual words and get back in that way. Yeah, I mean, I can't say that, I mean, I guess the biggest thing is that I felt like how we used to in the past. But it didn't take just the first LTAs. It took training and left and right. Once this season ended, because I know what was going to be the champion. So I took a lot of reps just to give back to feeling like myself, for the LTAs. And now, first week, but now, like, today specifically, just changing some small things with my feet. That is it. Talking about the long coach. Busting things I can do with my feet to get to that, but to sell that traditional handle that I love to sit on. I thought I felt great already, but I felt even better. Sorry, I need to work size a little more. Now I'm getting my feet back and how I like the right side

and the left side. So I'm excited. I mean, obviously, I feel like in the league, whether I left the right, you're still going against Premier Guy. So obviously, the high expectations for the left and right tackle. But there's definitely the level of energy and the expectation definitely taken a human step. Because now, tonight, the blind side, that's the D tackle world. You know? So yeah, I would say in terms of communication, as far as this even outside of the facility, you just stuff like that. I'm really crazy in that. But tackle quarterback, bond even more off the field. I think has been something that's even the cool way to do it. I got the text one day. And I said, hey, I keep putting it up. I was like, you can't. Yeah, I've been training both. I've been training both. I asked after the season, they're like, honestly, we'll talk to you in some way in season. And I just got the text one. I didn't want to have this with the free agency.

So I was like, you know, what? I had an OCC right tackle. So if I get the word, I'm going to stand right tackle. I'll do what I did before I'm built on that. But I was like, I might as well as train a lot of tackle now. As if I'm going to be left tackle. And I'd rather do that than train on right tackle with the call A and do a lot of tackle. How do you, how do you switch my feet? You know what I mean? So I'm like, let me just prepare an advance. I'll be out. You know? I think occasionally, on third down, there would be a lot of twists. I was just not like it's automatic. And I think that was my mindset for the first half of the season. But I didn't have to go into the game with some pros. I kind of figured, OK, this is the type of rush. And again, this is how this guy usually rushes. If I get the vibe, this is how he ends the rush. Tackles that are first year guys. You got the premier patch on. Aren't you know what it was going to be? Are you know, will be every stunt? And honestly, just knowing that's kind of an advantage to.

So you're not, you're not, oh, the problem is twist on my side. It was never air-dolphin. Well, they come up and I was like, three plays in a row. And two minutes. I knew that. It was the one that is so loud. You know what I mean? I'm watching more everybody else. And you rarely go out there occasionally. On third down, I was like, you know what I'm saying? He's going to pick me. You know what I mean? So that effect, it's kind of, it's also kind of an advantage in a way. But it's also exciting. OK, I'm going to get the hardest to look. You know, those are real, real reps, you know, the things. So really, I went in kind of process. And I was like, hey, when they tell me, let me know about I'm just going to train it. I was training all the way to OTAs. I guess if I didn't hear anything about the OTAs, I would came in like, so you know what I mean? Because just like, I'm cool with training both continue. I wouldn't be cool with training both continually. But I feel like anybody in any position will be like, OK, like you want as soon as possible to give your feet kind

of subtle to it and your hips, subtle to it and your hands. So then, certain kind of that. Would it have been harder to get your work both very good to you? No. No. But they're definitely, but in terms of the development, it's definitely a lot faster to stay on one side. But I think having that week that we had the transition with the seasons over, it kind of like goes on. You know, look, we're trying to get up put up my front and end up in week. Things at a time right now. But when it comes back, I'm going to show them the own house. So I've got a house to not too far from. So I told them, I got that house. Like a yellow side. I did it. You know what I mean? So yeah. What's your mindset like? My mindset, you know, just go out there. My day just dominated the person I was confronting me. You know, just do what I've been doing for the last two to three

weeks, I should say. But you know, they play men on men. So I'm just ready for the challenge. I'm just ready for the challenge. I'm talking about middlemen. You just got to say you got to be smaller. Yeah. I mean, feels good. Just say somebody going out there and playing men on men against Ohio State receivers. It's not an crazy. But you know, we just ready for the challenge. They say they're not chasing a game plan. But we got to go out there and show them the reason why not to play men on men. Well, maybe I'll look for the reason. And I'll put the mouth of the mouth of the 16th. And I'll tell you about it right now. Sure. We're going to be the conversation. Yeah. But even Carson, if you have trouble, there's a state of case that he's really having a problem with. I mean, I don't really, if I be on a cover, I'd be on a cover. It's not really a big deal to me. It may definitely be a blessing for sure, just to be on a cover of a game. But no, it's not really a dream of mine. It's a dream of mine, but I don't really think too much of it.

I mean, no, not yet. Probably hit me after the season. Just no planning to call us football players as a freshman. Planning to Rose Bowl as a freshman. Planning to call it a bow, not in the national championship. I mean, it's a blessing for sure, but it haven't hit me yet. My favorite catch, I would say we play Michigan State. The one I call over to defenders. Definitely probably my favorite for sure. Or you could go the one from Iowa, I should say, and then answer probably them too. I don't. I mean, yeah, like you said, it's pretty frustrating. I mean, having a game that I had in the Rose Bowl, and they're coming to the Cotton Bowl, just doing different things, chasing their scheme up for a big deal. I mean, I'm just going to be on the other side of the pitch. I don't. I mean, like you said, it's pretty frustrating.

Having a game that I had in the Rose Bowl, they're coming to the Cotton Bowl, just doing different things, and they're just trying to get you a better chance. But I mean, like you said, whatever, I could do the team win. It's not really a big deal for me. And as long as we win, that's all I really care about. And then you got a national championship. Right. It means a lot. We put a lot of work in this season. We have highs, we have lows. We have people cutting us out. But we hear now, we just ready to put on a show Monday. I'm just going to think about what we're going to do. He has coach day and go. Oh yeah. Yeah.

First the one that's not your championship because there were means a lot. I mean, you see everything that he bent on this year, people saying he should be fired and this is down the third, but I mean, you see everything that he bent this year. I mean I seen everything I had been through this year on see everything. People saying my head on Twitter. I wasn't here. He first got the head coach and job but I know this year for sure we definitely got to win this for him. I mean it's a lot a lot of people in the lead I should say I can't really say who but I mean you had guys like Odele you had guys like Odele you had Steph LaDix. It means a lot of Michael Thomas Chris Carter just a lot of you know guys I played in NFL and stuff like that but yeah really them guys for sure. No just keep going you got it you've met stuff for sure really I really

did that for sure. Like physical defense like like you said like people say like they like to play man they're not changing their scheme so we're just ready for the challenge like you said best defense we probably go see all year and we just gotta be ready to go out there Monday and just put on the show. I'm excited for will him first coming here in Ohio State January our first workout we had together. Just everything that we built through the season. I mean I'm just happy for will from him to be in this position right now but we got a financial job and that's the winning out of you Monday.

I mean it's pretty funny them saying that because I'm just only a freshman but I miss the blood for sure people to even say that but I got two three more years left of college and I'm just focused on college right now I'm not really where about the NFL right now. It's very special for me just being a freshman and playing the national stage like a peer for national titles something that I dreamed of as a very young kid. I'm just happy to be here and I just can't wait to put on a show Monday for you guys. Yeah. I mean all of us used to sit on the bench and we just see him hit the quarter back the ball come out and we all just got up and just started jumping up and down we all decided happy for jacking that moment and we just knew that

mama like you know this we're going to the ad for sure. Me. It shows a lot. I mean you know going from high school or when a three-state championship. I'm a Donna then you know coming to Ohio State just appear for national title right now. I mean just so that I've picked two great schools but I'm happy to be here and I just came with the professional show Monday. The coolest person. I mean you got a lot I can't really say just a specific person. You got a lot of great guys we trying to lead like O'Dell you have guys like Stefan Dex. A lot of other players as well just came kind of my mom but

really really them two guys for sure O'Dell and Stefan Dex. Yeah. Yeah. I mean like they say they play man so I'm just ready for the challenge and just get ready to go out there Monday and just no put them so thank you. The vice-geno had gave me I had to just keep golfers. I know the reason why I'm here and me like he said just keep golfers and just no keep the main thing and the best corner I'll face this year. I mean I'll face a lot of great corners. I can't really say but yeah I'll face a great daughter.

My dream occasion is turns and cake goes. Good. Are you? Yeah. I say both respect and frustration as well but I mean I thought they come out there and trip it to me and they say stick it to whatever during our year and that's playing man coverage which is ready for the challenge. Pretty good group Christian Gary 29th a great corner 15 Lennard Moore two great guys are right there very physical but you know we all highest

receivables so we ready for the challenge. I say it's just no understanding the defense understanding the game plan understand what coach Kelly is trying to get done. I mean just coming in I felt I progress from our first game gets accrued to now. I feel like I better each and every week. I mean things slowed down a lot for me but yeah really just no understanding divises and no understanding what they're trying to do to me for sure. I'm two guys great part of the best we go see all year for sure two two physical guys but you know we're ready we're ready for the challenge that

they're coming with and that's the play man no man and you know we ready to go on my day. Yeah I mean environment is pretty crazy seeing all these cameras. Suddenly I never thought I'd see them alive but it's a blessing for sure this is the best position right now. I mean we just had a prayer prayer prayer prayer meeting and you know we all they all just I mean we all discussed the issues because they discusses issues and you know we just want the work I mean not two and a half weeks we had all before Tennessee game and we just came out there on Tennessee game and we play with a chip on a chip on our shoulder all throughout the playoffs and we go continue to play with that chip on our shoulder in that championship on Monday.

Do you know how that very impactful yeah the very impact on my career I should say you know just going to his games as a very young kid seven eight years old him playing with him playing with West Virginia and they play Clemson Orange Bull down in Miami. I mean just going to just seeing his games it's like yeah I definitely want to play on the stage and I can't wait till I get to know that moment for sure. There are you. Yeah. Cause they really just in his own his own love space he's just walking around trying to get his mind right trying to get his mind ready for the game but you know he just get everybody hype in the locker room and you know just trying to get us ready to go to win the game. Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah for sure. I mean you go play mangas Ohio Stairers

I mean just be ready cause you know we definitely go come out there and know or give our best and I mean they said not to change what they do so we're just ready for the challenge. Uh not a year later uh definitely sometime my career college uh but not my first in college I should say um I mean just to be able to be in this position right now it's you know a blessing or just a young kid from Miami to be here and I won't take it for granted I'm ready to go out there and give him my all. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Uh I mean I was watching that game against was it Georgia? I believe yeah I was watching that game. Uh I was pretty sick myself cause I was actually committed at that time um so I mean yeah they left a bad testimony mouth um but I mean we ready to go out there and Monday to redeem myself and you know just go put on show Monday. Uh I mean I just laughed um but you know that's what they do they're not gonna change what they do uh just because we were Ohio State so we just gotta go out there and put it on uh why not to play uh man no man it gets us so we just gotta go out there show them Monday. Can you say the game? I'm sorry.

Uh my journey here at Ohio State repair me a lot from that's your shape of shit let me just go on through everything that I've been through uh my first guy here all the uh Matt Jules all the hard work guys that we had all the hard patuses um we just prepared all of us for this moment and no I'm just ready to go out there and give it up my all on Monday. Okay okay yeah. We just squeezed this? One or nine? Two hundred? Me he is big and strong. Yeah. Yeah I'll go. What do you know? I don't know. What's 20? Yeah that's pretty good. No problem.

Yeah. Yeah that's pretty good. No problem. Uh and why not probably like the most is the one against Michigan State when I caught over two defenders on that song I probably like one or the one after that I should say or you go the one against Iowa probably them three probably my best ones for sure. Oh I mean just we'll put in the ball in my area and I just know how to make a play for

them um even though somebody was grabbing my face I just know I still have to make a play because the ball touched my hand so I mean just when the ball and the other thing I have to make the play no matter how the ball comes at me. I have to have a big game um I mean we really they really feed us chick for lay or piece out of the game so it's really either chick for lay or piece so yeah probably chick for lay for sure. Yeah. Uh it went it went pretty good everybody just uh uh speaking with their thing is uh going right and what they think is wrong um we just a lot of the older guys if we're in their opinions

on what we need to do to uh come to get as a team um but you know that me and deathly uh helped us in a in a big way because it helped us want to feel as well because we played our great football right now and we just got to shoot out on Monday. Yeah it definitely got emotional uh can't really say uh what really was said because that's no players only and coaches only but it was definitely some stuff said that um people took uh people took and uh went with it and that's the reason we planned the way we planned right now. Uh yeah make help me a lot this year um him being our older guy in the room um me help me in cartonel as well and Brennan and it's in all the guys in our city room as well me just a great guy as well it's very smart uh me make just been a big part of the reason that I'm having to see that I'm having to work because he's been a big you know older guy been there been a lot of

great guys in that room like Chris a lot of way Gary Wilson Marvin Harrison Jr. Jackson Slickman Jibba so he's seen all the grids I've been through there and me teaching us the right thing and the right way and in the buck out way for sure. I love it that that means they don't know what's coming out of the mix we got 12 personnel we got 11 personnel you can throw two of us in throw one of us and you gotta stop it all. What have you made of the quarterbacks of three of them? Uh not too much I feel like they all come in here working I feel like everybody's making their throws making their passes everybody making their corrections. What did you take away from last season? When the next game that was it when the next game go out there on Saturday beat the man in front of you and then came out with a message to check their ship and their bench. The strict laws about improvement as a individual when you work in this group. I'm looking out everything I'm trying to get my game as well as my spirit I'm trying to come up to

fill it on. We hear about either the key roles not just for this group but for the whole team. The circuit step up who has started to step up and realize their place. I feel like we've had leaders from last year that came back and I feel like we got new guys that stepped up into their roles and their roles and around the team that become leaders. Being a leader you all always have to be vocal you can have a set example on the field or it can be vocal or do both. It's not you I can do you have a big one. What was it like to say about the boys that last couple years? I was happy for Gia. I seen her I heard grine and I see her my eyes she's grine and getting an extra work. There's ball is ball. We come out here and play ball. He's out here doing a pro day yesterday. I just you know ready to go make some real money. What ways do you feel like you're a different player now going into this year and maybe you were last year? I feel like every year I've just improved on my overall game blocking and catching consistent wise people who used that word but I feel like I'm just overall better. I came

in here ready to go. How much does it push you when you're in a room with guys like Max and Will and Bennett that you know you've got to be on your game if you're going to get a field man I feel like Arya is sharp by Arya every day and come in and work and they go push me every day to work just like I'm a do-do. I love more honestly. Max, Max Claire, Max LeBlanc, both of them. I love them. What's your flashed in the time you're here? Is this the year worth it all come together? I feel like Arya was my year but hey you're going to see this year I'm going to come out here and put on the show for the back-out nation and I feel like everybody on the field is ready to go put on the show we're trying to go back and back. You got a play quite a bit though last year, Tulane. What did you pick up from all of that especially in a championship run you know and they were counting on you? Honestly just be ready at any time honestly. You can be throwing at any time

just like I was I probably had some rest while I was just throwing in and you got to get it done. If you don't get it done then go find somebody who has to do it. I'm not even a year ago. Honestly over the spring and some of this I feel like I've told them I body a lot and I got stronger in the wheelroom. I've also got a little bit faster so I can get in another break so I can get in. And just the mind work part of the game. The middle part of the game and you got even better in town. How would you describe that? Say it again. The mind part of the game you know that? Well I feel like it's a lot more fair. I say like the tight ends we come in here. Five o'clock every other day to do a walk through more film. Which is more in students at a game now. I feel like it was just a exciting play. I was the last read on it.

Like the very last read on it. I don't go out I came down with the kiss and we did the first down. You're but I still had a great rookie year. Six yards of carry. You know things like that. I think it was like nine touchdowns. Ten including the playoffs. And so there's always been like all right. You guys let me show my talent. Shining a little bit. Like even when I had the knee so I had the knee right. A lot of people don't know like I didn't get hurt again whenever I got you know got cleaned up so I went down in 21 right. Had the injuries the knee injury. And then came back later the next year. And I and I played the first few games and I just feel there was a lot of scar tissue in there. So I had to get it cleaned up. I didn't get hurt again. I could have played the whole year but I got it cleaned up so I can feel like me. So after I got that cleaned up I the first two games back from the injury I had over 120 yards rushing right. And then went on had great great ending of the year.

You know 100 total yards in the playoff game we lost which I hate the most. Stas don't matter me I want to win. But then come back the next year hurt again. Like 20 kill each so two really unfortunate injuries but that's just a guy's plan. You know and I think that the storm is now over you know and I do think that I'll be able to shine a light to the whole world. Are you concerned that you have that label of guy you can't stand with him? I could care less because I do I do I know that's out there. Because as it should be it should be I got hurt two major injuries back or not back to back years but you know so I haven't been on the field as much as I should. That's true that is true but it's not like I'm having these little little dinky injuries and sitting out it's something I can't control literally so that's why I'm not bothered by it like yeah I am injury poem you can say that you know but I do think that the chargers are getting a guy that's going to be healthy from now on you know guy will it and it's going to be great and I do think

that it's going to be a great however many years here. When you've been on the field you've been highly productive yeah five point of year for very average for your career like knowing that when you're out there you're very productive how much confidence does that give you that really all you need is not all the confidence in the world you know the way I work I want to say just from the numbers but just the way I work my work ethic you know and my relationship with Jesus is like I have the most confidence when I step out there because I do know like if he grants me the health it's over with is I don't think I'll be you know I think it'll be a great year or whatever couple years however many years he'd dress me great health you know and I think just the work ethic my prayer and all that stuff that's what help you have that confidence with the numbers will be there and they might be higher after this year you know Zen and it's crazy to think about because I had six point yards or six yards per carry you know so we'll see

oh yeah yeah yeah I play with Bradley I play with him you know I know the Slater I know all the I know all the guys you know and I'm I'm excited I think it's like I said earlier this is a talented group you know we just got put together win some games because that's what I came before I would I wouldn't I wouldn't say a part of the recruitment but like whenever I decide I was going to sign it was great to have him in the room yeah we're great we're we have a great relationship that's he's like my brother I think it accomplished it complimented each other very well you know um he can do a lot of stuff too you know we got a lot of people think he's just power power power but I think he has some other parts we gain too which it it'll be great because I feel like I could do everything and when we wanted to get tired we we can roll it in we keep rolling we win some games when you the two of you keep going how do you think this is going to look the work will be that partnership back there I know that's a hard question um how do I

think I think it'll look beautiful you know I'm a lot of people call this a passive league but I think you got to run the ball to win the Super Bowl you know if you look at the the team to win the Super Bowl they can run the ball they can control the clock and so if we're both good it'll look great beautiful I would I would describe it as you know a great offense um I think he he gives a quarter he's going to give the quarterback a lot of options he's going to give the running back a lot of options he's going to give the receiver a lot of options you know and I think it'll I think it's going to be great he's often it's going to be amazing when we talk to him you know I was like why he would build something good rush offenses throughout the career and you said that one part of it is just you got to call the plates you got to call them as we're running back you know how much confidence how much you say it is it gives you you know you play call there because you stick with it and allow you any offense on it gives you a rhythm of your opinion it gives me a

lot of excitement you know um it's gonna be like I say it's fun to play it as offense you know um and I think he does have some good things in the past game too but like you said he sticks with the run and that's that's the identity you you want to offense that has an identity right you don't want to be looking everywhere else to find your your identity you want you want to have it and so I think his offense has that and the guy he builds and puts in there it it compliments that I did see so I think it's going to be great look I ain't gonna answer any of the four if it's up to me yes yeah look because I had this problem like three two years three years ago I'm thinking I'm full go I think I'm ready to go and then next you know I'm on PUP like hey look some stuff it but my prairie pay gray so but I don't know hopefully I can start I think I'm ready to start you know um it'll begin in training camp but that's not up to me as I've learned I wouldn't say that I

think I've been I've been in some great organizations and I think this this organization is a great organization and the training staff is great and so they just want what's best for me you know and they're they're taking care of me which that's what you want in an organization and so that's where that comes from which I appreciate it like I really appreciate that you know because I'm a type of guy like I work really hard so maybe sometime I'm blind to you know the danger of something you know so I appreciate it but like I said if it's up to me yeah I'm out there but never know well any frustration for you during the heading into the agency you know dealing with with rehab and not you know having a full season of paid for the production to go out there was there any part of that where you're like cat I wish I you know I did for the public market with the different situation yeah I like it I like how would I say this I like it the hard way

but not you know I like it the hard way I like it I like trial and tribulations so I mean the dice that I was given the role was I was coming off a third Achilles and that was that was the Lord's plan so it was beauty in that like I was comfortable I was caught like there was multiple teams you know I wasn't it wasn't like I didn't have any other team but I was comfortable and sitting back and just enjoying the process letting myself get fully healed so whenever that team whoever I would sign with who now is the Chargers is gonna get the best me you know and I think people all around the league know that like okay this guy okay it's a high risk high reward type thing right not even a high risk low risk because you it's a business right so I got hurt last year so not as much money these be throwing them but I think everyone around the league knows that whenever I am on

the field the numbers don't lie and so they know that and a lot of teams were like all right here you can we give you this but we want you to be healthy so when I'm healthy it's gonna be great this the the chance that I've been giving here I'm so grateful and I know that's gonna be they won't be they won't regret it are you the type of person that likes it for people wrong like you've got a couple things like a high risk high reward injury from you know like are you the type of person that really tries to hurt people wrong no I hear it I see it it's pretty cool like you'll never see me unless I'm just like in a bad mood you never see me like like if I have a great game or a great year like I have this wonderful year I ain't gonna go back and you're like yeah yeah what happened no because I don't care like you're eventually see like I'm like I'm a guy that's really good so I ain't worry about that but I'm proving myself right that I am one of the best in the league right

so forget all the naysayers and people will talk about being injury prone because whenever I have this great year it's gonna be forgotten you know too well like why give that energy yeah I was you know we just with him you know he's he's a great guy I mean he was in my class I remember seeing him on we were at an award show because I was a dog walker or finalist and I'm like I've seen him play but I didn't know he was that tall like I didn't know he was like six six I went at first on this was years ago in college and I'm like am this big tall like he's cool though like I like I never really got to I ain't gonna lie I thought he'd be kind of you know you know nerdy but he's cool dude very laid back you know we'll face to him you know it's just because like the last three years has been disappointed at the end of the season so I feel like we put more work in I feel like that's what we're missing we're just putting more work in

and you just gotta do that throughout the summer the spring fall and then you just gotta show it on the field tell the guy just ask Jack this when you take out of you still like in a ball button you're a practice and you look at it through all of the deep beds and you look at the person L-chains were failing coming in with sunny moving up in the facial lines from it with all the guys in the description coming back what's your like just view of what's out there on defense and how it may be a while you can do some things uh it's kind of just like I don't want to like high part has so much but I kind of look like a like a legendary defense kind of I feel like we got playmakers everywhere and then moving sunny down I think that's a great move for him you know he's a big athletic dude um he can play in a box he can play like safety thing that's just showing how like versus how he is and Caleb you know you've seen Caleb how he plays he's an animal he's only a sophomore I think and I feel like the guys we brought back you know we all can we're all dominant so for like as a collective you never going to be like unstoppable so confident there's some problem no well there's a part of that

too and I mentioned it there about Casey himself like if you if there's that way self-believe thing there's also that part of going to build depth you know case you have injuries case you have issues so how do you look at spring in terms of getting the guys that are next in line as prepared to keep that standard high I think you just got to set a great example for the young guys and just showing them how to how to practice how to like watch film how to take care of their body because those are the things you're going to need to like go on this deep run I think it's like 17 games or something that we're not we add in games so the young guys are going to have to play we can't just play fit the games the snap that's not going to happen so he's got to keep working kind of keep running getting in shape you played so many you know what's kind of surprises me that you said you said that it was joke I'm sure but like you know surprising to hear that it's a really humbly snap to you last year did that kind of take it to a new last year do you think that you need to you know push it

even further getting better shapes so you can play all 16 17 games yeah definitely I got to get way better shapes than I've been and I feel like it was kind of like it was a joke yeah of course I needed those snaps because the years before I wasn't really playing as much so I just wanted to get like more experience under my belt so I can know bring younger guys with me because I've been first time I heard all your lectures what you've seen from well because I'm not sure we all forgot about it because he was hurt now he's running you know almost a second man uh well as a workhorse he he's gonna stay quiet you're gonna work hard and that's what I love about the focus is he don't really talk much he's going to get a job done do a job right really has any mistakes what would be a successful single national championship I ring when all the games we don't want to lose anything we got a mindset that we can't be beat and we just gotta go show it

seems like you guys expect the national championship every year this year even more so you guys have all come back for this you guys have all decided like an up and down but is that this could feel a difference or is there not really any difference it's just the same work it's definitely a difference everyone working harder um we noticed our last run like we most of us don't have any years after this so we gotta go go bigger going home and we're not trying to go home finished big we know what you guys think of Michigan but when you look at what they did they won the national championship and you guys took them down to the final minute right you know what I mean I mean you you were right there something goes a little different you guys could win that game against them does that tell you anything about like that hey you guys want to win a national championship but you played to the 59th minute with the team that won the national championship last year like you're that close so I'm saying we just like work harder that's that's kind of coach makes of saying you know nobody cares just work harder like those you know we'll play Georgia the same thing yeah last last play you know they went on the win in that he so we just

got to get over that hump at the end of the season I think we'll be fine how frustrating is that you're that close against the last two national title uh of course as you know it's frustrating but you can't change the outcome you can't really dwell on it you just gotta you know come back and work harder do things better than you did last year and hopefully the outcome will change as that is you get older you kind of learned I thought I was working hard and then you always find out there's a little more yeah definitely I mean that's how that's what growing up is basically in college and I thought fresh me I was working it's hard as I could but now I look back at it I really wasn't working hard at all compared to what I'm doing now so just to learn anything 80 85 I mean I can it's all on me I just I think it's a little higher I was just trying to be funny but I mean that's all of me I just got to run harder get the shape

I think I think I definitely can lie as I was just you know we got to get the young guys to come along with us we can't play for the stamps again that's just too much on our bodies uh just everybody like online D line we gotta get those younger guys to play you know get that pieces on the D line and online and everywhere else so we can last that oh yeah I did unless we were like winning by like a line I thought like there are no moments you know I can go sit down or something but we're playing them big games like you know in order to enter or north those kind of games of course I want to be because I know I can contribute and I won't want to put that on anyone else when I know I get the job done. Oh yeah definitely K-Mac is a K-Mac's animal y'all you haven't really seen it yet but in practice he shows all the time he's just he's just he's growing right now he has to work I think he just has to get

you know in the playbook things like that you guys are about the exact same size it's listed you're both listed at 6th or you're 327 he's 326 yeah he's I kind of look at him like my my junior but you know K-Mac he's gonna be a great player he's got to develop more and getting to play but it's really a lot on you older guys there's that large group of young guys and then there's the seniors in the back is that part of your task for this year to bring those guys along as well yeah definitely we got to be leaders um like I say we got to have them play this year we can't just play all the snaps they got to get in there and get some work and we got to get them right during the all season so they can play and not just play they want to like contribute like make plays tackles sex yeah they're definitely some big dudes um and they all work hard I'm really seeing much it's only day two I'm not passing on but throughout the workouts they've been working hard

you know they they're determined I have to say that and it looks like they're ready to work at me I'm going to score this notes it feels like there's a lot of great defense this day you have big athletic defensive tackles who can eat up space but also move you know right that is that because I have a requirement maybe through great defense to have guys like you that have some balls but also a great feeling I think that is definitely I think if you look at the last couple national championship winners like team of Northe you know they got two good uh detacled two athletic detacles look at Georgia two athletic detacles so I think that's definitely neat if you want to go on that big run and beat those big teams. If you think about that they're going to fight by the defense attack and it's like what's Georgia's Jordan Davis and Janet Carter what's Michigan is Chris Jenkins. I mean you understand because you play it but I feel like some time I don't know are people

realizing how important defense tackles are a little bit more than they used to. I think so uh I think they're starting to develop to develop more and more of these like freaky detacles yeah like in the combine just now you seeing like those guys they're moving were in the 478s and things like that so we'll see and when you think about this freaky shot how do you think you fit into that ball of that kind of player. We watch that and say yeah that's me. Oh yeah definitely I think I'm top-notch when it comes to detacles but I don't want to you know get a big head but you know I watch it come on I watch it do the drills. I have Tate's here you like you're looking like my film so I think I'm up there with all those things. I mean you're going to get this brain fractures you're not doing as much a weapon on a weapon. I don't know how to do that. Do you have like a goal in mind? I don't remember how many you have last year but you have a goal in mind. How many do you want to have? I mean as many as I can have I think I have more than that but I think they're counseling.

I think they're counseling some of them and it's some of them where I like just listed so but I think we work on drills matching the hand I think that's goes big and what we do is a D line you know just affecting the quarterback is anywhere you can it's just great for the defense you know just that little thing covering his eye you know he might throw it a little bit to the left to our player. So it's something that you really really have to work on. It's a theory that's one of the things that you maybe worked on the most. You could bring your time here because there are a few guys that I've seen like oh that is a good thing. We don't have that. We kind of kind of expect it. I think I just have like an eye for the ball kind of I kind of just look at the quarterback and just I see him like load up I just try to get in his ways and sometimes he just throws a team. I mean they get frustrated but you know we're a team you know we're just getting ready. Each time to grow you know you don't have to have the pig mentality of problem of instant

gratification you know you can develop and grow. So and sometimes you may be a behind a guy that's a really good player is nothing wrong with developing and growing and playing when your time is right and if the time is right right now is a freshman like what's your name do you play early you know. So we try to also sell that you know we care about him as people and try to prepare you for life after football. So it's bigger than just football. We're going to prepare you for life whether it's the NFL or on with a regular career in the workforce. We want you to prepare you as a young man and we try to sell that and preach that to the parents. With the remaining having that in fact you mentioned rolling all these different spots do you anticipate you know there wasn't a lot of rotation among the cornerbacks last year when everyone was healthy. Do you anticipate maybe growing him through the rough guys here with the longer season potentially? Yeah we play it by here. You know I mean we see how it goes by time we get in the camp but you know obviously he's earning his stripes. So you know when you earn your stripes you know a lot of jobs to create opportunities for you. You know I mean we have to see how it goes with all the other stuff you know once we get

closer to the season and we're getting the game plan stuff but he's doing a great job and he's taking a great step forward. Tim, we're going to go through the way you can kind of just have a sure from now it's like it's been like son of pieces kind of relationships and kind of building bonds. But I'm curious is that something that you came in with the it's like a couple years ago with the intention of doing or is it something that you're like it's kind of been cultivated over the course of your time as a position coach here at the guys who? No it's been there for a while I've been doing that for a long time it's all about relationship. If you develop real relationship and you're authentic in your communication and you have honest feedback and you have direct teaching the guys that have value and character and they appreciate that stuff they're embrace that. So but they have to know you care and you have to know that it's real and they have to know that you're really concerned about there where it being as a young man and when you get close to them it's been a lot of time with them off the field and you can coach them hard and you can say truthful things to them and then they embrace it and you have real conversation because you know the only goal is to help them get better as a young

man. I've received really so far ahead of the border with the kind of skewed down evaluations on how's that dynamic change in these two years as a scoops gun or any more bad people who are counting. Yeah it's done balanced up a little bit now that goes with great competition we have the we go against the best receivers and call it football so that helps escalate your growth process because if you don't figure it out real fast you're getting embarrassed. So that competition but what happened with that eye guys start competing eye guys start growing eye guys got better and now it's even up a little bit so where you get really good work at practice today you know what I mean so it's competitive it's fun those guys both on both sides of all care about each other so it's great competition and they all real close so you know what I mean is that stuff that gets us better that will prepare for Saturday. I didn't know that same idea. But like first day practice actually the receivers kind of got them because I didn't kind of wake up call me for this. No it's just it's going to competitive man they got the best group in the country that

you're going to get every day so you have to bring it every day you know I mean so they they we got a great quarterback room we got a great receiver room the running backs are really good so when you out there going against them is deep so you have to be ready for it and obviously man we see a lot of good stuff with with with stay in coach Kelly doing over there and so it prepares you a lot and it helps us grow. Is that. Is the one that you're putting or a wide receiver room kind of like a part of your dream. It's like these are the guys you get to play against. Yeah all that's because you know that's where you get better eye shop and desire so you know you get to see that every day of practice that helps you grow it's no better thing to go against every day than to see that on a daily basis. I'm also near room besides. We're looking at. We just moving a lot of guys around we watch our practice we have a lot of guys in there right now you know we pop up through a four different guys in there obviously Lorenzo's in there. Jameen is in there Caleb miles we have about four or five guys moving around right now

we just try things out in spring ball see what a fit you know see what things work together so it's going to probably some more guys in there you know we move it around to try to just get the right fit throughout the NSE how it goes by time we get really start the season. He can run any strong you know I mean he's fast very serious about his business he's big it's 200 pounds he can run he's strong he's conscientious. Now man he's starting to grow and he's starting to get better with it you know I mean so we look for big things for him in spring. Keep competing you know I mean now he's made the transition competing today you know I mean start going in that transition is all just like how many of your main last year you throw him in the fire you let him go you compete you go by time we get out of the end of training camp you'll be them figured out yeah I want to but now you just throw it all at him compete continuing to grow continue to learn he has the skill set he has to let now you just got to put it all together and it takes time to do that and hopefully you see that by time we get in the training camp. It seems like it went through springing kind of clip for the main last year and you

start to see and perform a little better in practice. Is that like a benchmark for where you want to be by the middle of spring because you have to be in a certain point where you want to start clicking? Yeah by the time you start getting about two weeks from now that last week you know because it takes time because there's a lot of stuff going on but you know by the time you get into that last week of spring ball you look to start seeing the things that you look for show up and then you know you get another evaluation again when you get into training camp see if this stuff carried on to make sure we go up for starting in September. What's your assessment of the growth that we've made now that he's kind of got a speed under one defense or what do you like about him and that thing? He's very conscientious he's smart he can run he's tough he's made the adjustment because he's out of Europe on his belt so now you can see he's not making a lot of mistakes he competes he's real conscientious and he has a physical presence so the growth has been really good and we look to continue that throughout spring. What's your thoughts on the future? I can ask one more. All the guys that came back like Denzel is a great example because that surprised you

as you reflect on all these guys that came back late for the rants and they could have turned bro. No the culture here is real because they does a great job of building the culture our room is close knit the guys on defense are real close those guys want to come back they have an agenda you know we want to come back they want to come back and walk away with something so it didn't shock me but it's a good environment for them too you know I mean that's when you see those guys come back that's a testimony to the culture that said here their brotherhood the environment and I of course they run the program for those do's to want to come back because we go at it it's hard it's not easy it's not easy but what we do so if fact they come back and do that is a testament how he runs the program Coach Wong thank you very much. As far as intensity how would you evaluate I think a dinged early on how would you evaluate your games tonight? Yeah my goal was just to come out play as hard as I could it was a little weird last week for the first time in my career playing a game that doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of playoff contention and I kind of had to check myself and and this week come

in with a mindset of every game matters and and we need to put the best product out there that we can and and that's what I try to do later now it was a good push or you looked at the looking into your work and push up when you retired you didn't seem shaking up right after you kind of just talk about what happened. Yes Sam just tried to get it on it and caught me it was more of like a stingering plate thing but the ref wanted me to go to the tent so I had to go answer some questions which is like jammed yeah my neck. You are helmet I know you've got a sort of a different helmet help you. Yeah maybe when it hits the top like that it's not as good but. I think these guys 11 months ago kind of crushed their dreams. Do you get the sense they're kind of a different team or and also that they this was a very

important game for them to win? I don't think they're that different I think they've had a ton of injuries on defense which hurts them but the mentality of the head coach you could see it throughout everybody. It's really a cool team I could just see from afar that it's probably a fun team to play for and they've they come out and they play to win every game and I respect that. I've put so much emphasis on the ball all meetings take away and I think you've got two since the by-week. Is there any accounting for that? I mean there's so many different things that go into a turnover or take away how do you react to brand or up? It goes into every level of the defense when you have your opportunity I know we had two against Stafford that could have made I mean if maybe if we get those it sparks a bunch of other ones so you just have to make your make your plays when they're there and then

just be in being the right spots and I don't think we've done a great job of that this year. It's a good he's a really good player and. Yeah I wanted to see where I'm at against him. Have you ever seen anything like the Jameson Williams touchdown or it's pop back to him and you've seen something like that? I was in the tent so I had no idea that happened. It was a play in this game when we saw a kind of a misdirection sprinted all the way across the field to make the play. Did you see the play? I think it was the one gives cut back. Yeah I had like a ten yard cushion and he ran by me like I was didn't exist and I tried to sprint and I was just like I don't have this and thankfully Mustafa is a heat seeking

missile and he made the play. I think we came in with the right mindset as a team just myself. It felt a little like dead energy wise but yeah I was a learning a moment for me to learn and make sure that I come in with the right mindset every single week. There's a lot of plays where you guys get to get the whole pass breakups and it will be like a couple plays in a row and then there's an explosive allowed. What can you believe in or what about the ecosystem? Yeah I mean we did get them to the second third and longs and then yeah they would make a big play and you definitely want to. Capitalize when you back them up like that and we didn't do that tonight and that's

why they scored 40 points. I'm sure yeah. I'm sure. Oh yeah for sure. You had guys like Chris Carter. Guys like Michael Thomas really. No two guys for sure. Me Michael Thomas was talking to me before the game. I'm just giving me advice. Just tell them to keep going first and just keep doing what I've been doing the whole year. I mean I'm got bugger I legend so definitely look at them guys for sure. Make sure to respect. It means a lot. Just a kid from Miami. He's been able to play an actual championship as a freshman. I'm the one that I dreamed of as a kid and I'm here now and I can't wait to put in

a show Monday. He said he can. I mean the Tissues know like he says may crazy each and every week playing but you know I can't let it get to my head. Let me just football at the end of the day but you know just happy business. None of us think we could be covered man. Oh man. We're actually talking about this yesterday as well but you know I mean that's what they do that's what they do. We just got got there and no play our game and no short of reason why not the play man on man. Two.

Four. Three. One. I'm not saying, you know, just go out there Monday. Just dominate the person I said front in me. Know, just do what I've been doing for the last two to three weeks I Just do what I've been doing for the last two to three weeks, I should say But you know they play men on men so I'm just ready for the challenge Feels good just say somebody going out there and play man on man guests Ohio State receivers is something crazy

But you know we just ready for the challenge.
