Tori was walking home from school when she saw a small boy sat on a large stone. He was right beside the path in the shadow of a eucalyptus tree. As Tori got closer, she realized it wasn't a boy at all. It was a very small man with a neat white beard. He was wearing a very smart three-piece suit, the color of honey. Tori hadn't ever seen anyone quite so small before, and he didn't appear to have seen her. He was just standing dreamily into the distance. It was only when she was just two or three paces away that he noticed she was there. Oh, I do beg your pardon, said the small man. I do believe I was lost in my thoughts. Tori noticed that the man's ears were raised into points.
Were you thinking about anything nice, Tori asked. Oh, ice cream, said the man, but try as I might, I can't make one appear. That's not how you get ice cream, laugh Tori. You have to get one from your freezer or buy one from the ice cream parlor. Oh no, I can't be doing any of that, said the small man with a wave of his hand. Normally I just think about it and poof, there it is in my hand. That's never happened to me before, admitted Tori. Well, that's because you're not a brownie like I am, said the brownie, the name's Brody. Tori introduced herself then asked, can you show me how you make an ice cream appear? I'd like to try that.
